This is my second book that I have read to upgrade my doodling to actual sketching and on to drawing. I was impressed the other book did not go into as much detail in the explanations. This book is a really good place to start and go from there!
This book was free, so I will approach my review in such a fashion as to reflect the value of this piece.
Charlotte Pearce presents the reader with what is essentially an essay on how to approach sketching for those with absolutely no sketching experience. Her approach is extremely basic, although she does touch on a few helpful ideas for the beginner, such as simple shading of objects and how to set up a desktop studio per-say for sketching practice. Charlotte does add some sample photos to help express her simplistic ideas, which is somewhat helpful for those who have never practiced these techniques.
All in all, this book is no more informative than a high school essay (which I have written many). Perhaps someone who has never picked up a pencil to sketch may find this information useful, but for anyone with even the slightest artistic ability, this essay will disappoint.
Extremely short in length and lacking in informative material would be an understatement.
