Please Note: This was a sexy, erotic short story with a premise that would be considered taboo or perhaps uncomfortable by a lot of people.
The H/h have a 18 year age difference. She is 25 and he is 43. What makes the situation a little more difficult is that He is her boss, and also her father's best friend.

Have 30 minutes to burn and want to read something hot, steamy and a little forbidden? This hot little book will fit the bill quite nicely! Abby and Jackson have been attracted to each other for years despite their 18 year difference. Abby is now 25 and Jackson is 43 and they are free to act on their feelings for each other. Granted, Jackson is Abby's supervisor the hospital that they are working at but it doesn't stop them.
This was just a quick peak into Jackson and Abby's undeniable attraction to each other and the lust and passion they give into. I'll admit that I'd love to know what happens to Abby and Jackson after the end of this book. I enjoyed this little taste of

If you have 30 mins to spare, this is a good short read to fill it with. I'm partial to a forbidden romance, and what more can you ask for than 1) your Dad's best-friend and 2) the medical director for the nursing programme you're in. Because that's what happens when Abigail Henningston meets her new boss Dr. Jackson Crissia. He fought it before due to their 18 year age gap, but now she's older he's not sure he can do so again...

It's short, sexy and Jack and Abby were very likeable. The downside it's only 10,000 words and it doesn't give you the time to get to really know them, or become invested; just as I did, it ended and I wanted more - they definitely had the story in them. Nevertheless, a good debut and Piper Anne is an author I'd happily read more from.

A little on the taboo side, this short story explores the lust-filled world of old acquaintances, age-gaps, forbidden relationships and second chances. For a novella, it's well-developed both in terms of characterization and writing style. I liked the narrative. It's dynamic and very sexy.
I felt Abby's teen-crush over her father's best friend as if it were my own. It was good to give in to temptation in the shape of Jack, a doctor who had to smother his inappropriate attraction to his fake niece, but cannot do it anymore after a long absence from her life.
Despite the precarious situation they're in, she's a nurse doing her rounds for the first time in Jack's hospital, the spark just explodes between them. I liked the strong sensuality of their encounters, really well described and acutely enhanced by their secretive nature.
There was even room for some romance which I always appreciate in erotica. This story is a good way to discover a new author. I look forward to reading her next creative and luscious novella, Loving Her Sniper Stepbrother!

This was a super seductive, panty-melting, 'whew, is it hot in here' read! It's short enough to finish in a couple hours and is well worth it.
There's choking....yes, there is.....in a good way. A very very good way. That's enough right there.
There's even a sweet true love, meant for one another storyline intermixed throughout the wonderfully detailed love-making. Overall a great read, I highly recommend it.

This is a short, VERY short, sizzling hot story of a forbidden attraction. Eighteen years her senior, Dr. Jackson Crissia fights his attraction for the young daughter of his best friend. After one near miss on her 18th birthday he leaves the country to keep himself in check. Now he's back and she's working in the same hospital he does. Will they give in?

This was not an enjoyable read. Not once did I feel anything other than annoyed. The part about being her father's best friend? It was pretty much an after thought. Same with their jobs and conflicts- that wrapped up so perfectly it was insulting. This guy Jack sounds like a total chach. He's 41 and has a man bun. I'm all for hot 40+ guys, I actually think they make better love interests. But this guy made me cringe. He was a horrible dirty talker and he's a doctor and not once was the issue of protection brought up. Now I get that I'm reading a short erotic story, but come on. After all the hype I am most certainly glad I got this when it was free.

Ok, this wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I wasn't going to get it because I'm not a big fan of such large age gapes between the main characters, but the h isn't as young as I expected her to be. And it was free, so why not!
It's a very quick little read. The storyline would probably make for a pretty decent full-length story. There wasn't much time to develope the characters, you get just a little back story before the 2 reconnect. It's pretty hot and steamy. It's definitely left open-ended, so it's possible we may see more of these 2.

This is a very short Novella, which in this case is good. I don’t think I would have finished it as full length novel.
There was no character build up and the charters just seemed very shallow, no depth to them at all to them. I just could not connect to them at all. I actually was rather annoyed by both of them.

3-4 stars. It's hard to rate such a short story.
It's a short, steamy read with characters that know what they want and when they want it. No weak heroine this time.
I would've liked it more if it wasn't so short, it left me wondering what's next. This one screams for a sequel, or a mini, tiny, sweet series.

Her Father's Best Friend is a very short and spicy read. It didn't have a complex developing storyline. But, would be a great start to a full-length novel. Would love to read more.
