Examines the operations of the various systems, both individually and in combination, that make up modern naval warfare design, and discusses the evolution of naval tactics and the current practice in surface, anti-submarine, air, and mine warfare
Published in 1986, Modern Naval Combat obviously no longer does what it says in the title, but makes nostalgic reading 30+ years after the event. The technology described is way out of date, yet still seems so incredible when explained.
Got a hardcopy as a gift from my late dad; purchased during a subsequent tour of the Smithsonian Institute's National Air & Space Museum in Washington DC, back in 1988.
