But she is convinced that the Forest God is hiding something from her, and the strange dreams and visions she's been having where she's seemingly transported to a realm that has closed its borders to mortals only leave her with more questions than answers.

The Old Gods demand her duty but her heart? It demands retribution for everything that the Godhead has taken from her.

I was so happy when received the ARC for this book and couldn't wait to read it. However, after I finished the book, I am not fully satisfied yet. For clarity, overall I give it 3 stars because the book will (hopefully) have a sequel to answer all of the open endings and unanswered questions and she has so much potential. Plus I love my grumpy men in God form. A 3-star for me is a solid book which has potential to be amazing.

The world building itself was 50/50 for me. Some of it makes sense, but all of the different names for 1 thing make it harder to understand and I have seen some crazy word building. I loved the idea behind the story, as it brings mythology, fae and magic in the same place. In the beginning I was a little frustrated with Aurenya's constant defiance and never being happy with the answers she was given. At the end of the book, you can kind of understand that it was good that she was never satisfied, but the constant need to go against everything and everyone left a bitter taste in the reading to be honest. That being said, she is trying to grow and learn and I love a FMC who doesn't just stand by while the brooding Forest god keeps her safe. (Also I love the enemies to lovers trope and I can't wait for that lovers part to start happening in the next book!). And special shoutout to Branwyn, she really is that girls girl and I loved reading into their relationship as friends and even sort of sisters.

If you're just starting out in the fantasy genre, this might not be the best book to start. Because of the complexity of the world building and the numerous characters involved in the formation of it. I think if Aurenya's constant anger had some rest moments in the reading, it would have read more as epic fantasy and less like a YA with a child (she is 25 by the way) that doesn't want to the anything and is always angry. But, you can see how the author makes her deliberately a little annoying to read. To make it that 5-star read for me, it would have benefited from Aurenya's constant defiance being written more as inner growth and make her behaviour more logical to read instead of just frustrating.

To close it off on a positive note, I think this story and plot has so much potential in the sequel and really hope to love that one. Hope to see my brooding Forest god, that yearns for a 'mortal' when he is forbidden, with my girl again to stop the end of the world.

Since I keep accidentally clicking the five stars every time I check my review page (lol) I've decided to pull a Carissa Broadbent and rate my own book five stars.

I'm doing it because I put my entire heart and soul into it. And while I totally understand that this won't be a five star read for everyone, or even really MOST people, it was a five star experience for me.

I wrote this book at a time in my life where I had no idea what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I just thought that I should do what every millennial is told to do. Go to college, get a job, get lost in the 9-5 lifestyle. Make money. Retire one day. The problem is, that lifestyle makes me want to vomit.

I want to create. I want to write. And whether or not I find the right audience, whether or not this becomes lucrative enough to become what right now feels like an unfathomable career...I'm still going to write. This is a cathartic experience for me, and I'm so blessed to be able to put my words out into the universe and watch them touch the lives of others. It's truly a gift.

So if you found yourself here, reviewing my book, whether you hated it or loved it. I want you to know that I'm so incredibly grateful that you're here.

Love, love, love. I both wanted to both devour and savor this book!

The magic system and world building in The Seven Realms & the Teeth of Gods is outstanding. I do wish there was a legend or map to be able to reference. The writing itself is beautiful, full of poetic moments and riddles. I loved all the little crumbs of foreshadowing! The ending was done so well. I am so sad the next book isn’t out already; I need to know what happens next!

Now our main character Aurenya has so much fire! I really enjoyed seeing her growth throughout the book and seeing her really come into her power. The author did a great job describing how she felt and showing how her mind was working during her challenges. I enjoyed all the found family and seeing all the friendships come alive.

I absolutely adore the brooding forest god! The chemistry between the two is perfection. I love a slow burn, and this was so slow and so perfect.

All in all, one of my favourite books I’ve read so far this year!

The writing is so so pretty and eloquent. The writing really makes the world come alive and I could vividly picture everything. The author truly has such beautiful writing.

The characters and Gods spoke a lot in riddles and at times, I had to reread what was being said. (I also did not get ACOTAR’s riddle so I do not say this negatively at all, I’m just not good at getting riddles).

I did appreciate that I wasn’t sure where the book was going next and that was fun and fresh to read! Can’t wait for the sequel!

This story had such deep lore and world building, it really blew me away. Spoiler...there are 7 realms and all of them are vastly different from each other and feel like different times/dimensions sitting on top of each other. I can feel the time and love that went into writing this, it felt like a story the author held for years before exhaling it out into the world.

the cast of characters, story told in 3 acts, and the high fantasy elements made this feel like an epic hero's journey, not just a vehicle for some smut & tropes.

Excellent. An angry mortal FMC who is a seer meets an MMC who is a broody, bossy forest god. They slow-burn exquisitely, and when the enemies become lovers, it gets spicy fast! And all of this takes place inside a plot that is totally epic fantasy that is reminiscent of Tolkien. Honestly, I can not wait to continue this story in the next book!

YES!! Ok, I already know some people are going to hate the FMC; however, I LOVED her. She was refreshing, and so was the MMC. And while this is a romance, I loved that this allowed moments outside of them to learn about the world.

I need book two!! Like badly. Great story, and while there were a few repetitions in the FMC's arguments that I could have done without, I loved this book! Also HELLO Forest God.

this book was interesting to say the least! It had great world building and complex societies and towns. The blend between gods, demigods, and fae were unique but a little confusing if I’m honest.
