Five words: Oxford comma is your friend.

This was a great story with an interesting plot ruined by lack of punctuation and redundant phrases and inconsistencies in the plot Then toward the end the author managed to insert lengthy background explanations right in the middle of action scenes totally ruining the pacing and pulling the reader out of the story My 2.5 rating is rounded up because the potential is here even if the commas are not

Oh, and Oxford commas (and other properly used punctuation) are your friends.

Reese:A lost legend emerges(Red Wolf Book 1)

This series of books just keeps getting better. The wolves are amazing and their stories are even better. Now that the red wolves were discovered, maybe the white wolves would not be bothered as much.I recommend all of the books in this series.

Sadly, I didn't like it.

So I'm checking my KU books to see what I have checked out. I see I borrowed this book back in March of 2015. Yikes! I quickly read the blurb and decided it sounded interesting. Once downloaded, my device tells me I'm at 20% or so. Hmmm, why did I stop? Once I started reading again, I realized why. The writing is flat and monotone. It jumps from perspective to perspective and it's not clear which character is narrating. I hate to say it but at times it felt like a grocery list being recited. The sex as steamy, but repetitive and even that became monotonous. I started skipping them half way through the book.

Honestly, I didn't like the main male character, Reese. He came off as a self-important jerk most of the time. Megan was blah and forgetable. I liked Rachel the most and she was just a secondary character.

Did the story move you? It annoyed me or the hero annoyed me.
What did you love? Sadly, nothing
Was there anything you wanted more of? More feeling less narration and more dialogue.
Will you be reading more stories by this author? I see potential so I'll try a second book.

How is the author's writing? Okay
Is there violence? Yes
Is there sexual content? Explicit
How is the story narrated? Alternating persons and I don't know

Belonging
Megan is human and was raised by the Alpha and his wife. Reese is the Overseer and scares everyone. By chance the two meet very briefly and Reece is determined to have her without even knowing who she is. But trouble comes from several sides. And Megan is more than even she knows. After a kidnap attempt on Megan and Reese being the one to rescue her, he’s now determined to have her in all ways. This is a self-contained story that is well written and very entertaining to read.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the storyline, it was a bit different to most shifter stories, and I loved the characters. However at times it was rushed and Megan seemed to accept things too easily, even though she had grown up with wolves she just accepted Reese without any resignation. Seemed a bit too unbelievable at times. But saying that I still really enjoyed it!

Good story

I like a story that isn't predictable. There were plenty of unexpected surprises along the way. The characters grew as the story continued. They started off a little stiff but then were guessed out. I would be very interested in reading the next Red Wolf book.
