May 5, 2026Oh Effie, I was absolutely hooked by this book. Revenge storyline, dark tones and sizzling sexual tension between characters had me glued to this book! Tons of angst made your heart pound and Kat' unstoppable obsession with her love only intensified their relationship. Dangerous, sexy and full of jaw dropping twists. Effie will never let you down, trust me!

The second instalment of the Lovesick Duet and just when I thought I couldn’t Love Liam and Kat more this books destroyed me in the best way.
I have a soft spot for vigilante justice and this was so beautifully written taking into account the hard topics of the trauma. The way they aren’t heartless and struggle with the killing even though the people deserve to die
The relationship turmoil, the yearning and unwavering love is so endearing

This was such a good follow up to heart eyes! The perfect duet! We get to see Kat and Liam back in all their glory and finishing their list! I love that we get different POVs in the book we hear from Ellie and Freddie who’s a new character he’s a journalist we even get to hear from one of the awful men Ashworth! His final chapter in the book was just glorious! So we get lots of spicy times! They both are still obsessed with each other as much or probably more than book 1! I love that they have matching masks and they get to take out the scum!
With regard to spicy scenes I’ll just say head under water annnnnnd masks!!!
I loved them fighting together for justice and every POS got what was coming to them!
They got the revenge they needed and they got to make a cold house Kat grew up in a home!!!

Effie really knew how to close out the Lovesick Duet because Death Kiss had me completely consumed. 🖤🔥 After loving Heart Eyes, I was already invested in Kat and Liam, but somehow their story became even more intense this time around. I started this book thinking I would take my time with it and somehow ended up flying through it in a single day. 📖💨
Kat and Liam are right back in the middle of their dangerous little world, except now there is no hesitation between them. They are fully committed to finishing what they started, and neither one is willing to walk away from the other. Watching them move through that list together was one of my favorite parts. They aren't simply lovers in this story; they are partners, accomplices, and each other's safest place while doing some very dark things. 🖤🔪
Their relationship continues to be completely consuming. Liam still carries so much damage from everything he has survived, and there are moments where he genuinely cannot understand why Kat would continue choosing him. He sees all the broken pieces in himself, while Kat sees the man underneath them. 🥺❤️🩹 She never treats him like something that needs fixing. She simply reminds him that he deserves love too. Their connection has so much tenderness underneath all the darkness, and that contrast made them even more addictive to read about. 😭🖤
And yes... the spice absolutely showed up. 🌶️🔥 There are some scenes that are going to live rent-free in my head for a while. Let's just say there is water, there are masks, and things get VERY interesting. 😏🎭💦 The chemistry between Kat and Liam is off the charts, and their obsession with one another only seems to grow stronger.
I also really enjoyed the additional perspectives this time around. Getting chapters from Ellie and Freddie added another layer to the story, and Freddie being a journalist was such a fun addition. 📰👀 I found myself wanting more of their interactions, because there was definitely something about those two that worked. Their presence also gave the story a little more breathing room outside of Kat and Liam's intense relationship. 💕✨
One of the most satisfying parts for me was seeing Liam slowly allow his family back into his life. 🥹❤️ Kat has always craved the kind of warmth and belonging she never experienced growing up, so seeing her become part of Liam's family felt incredibly meaningful. What started as a cold, painful place gradually begins to feel like an actual home.❤️ Watching Liam lower those defenses and reconnect with his parents and sister was emotional in the best way. 😭
The revenge storyline kept me turning pages because every time I thought things couldn't get more dangerous, another layer was revealed. 😳🔥 Kat and Liam aren't exactly gentle about getting what they came for, and honestly, watching the people responsible face the consequences was extremely satisfying. ⚔️🩸 There were moments when I was sitting there holding my breath, especially around Chapter 36. That entire section had me completely locked in. 😱
I also loved that we got to hear from one of the men connected to everything that happened to Kat. His perspective was disturbing, but his final appearance in the story was incredibly satisfying. 😈 Effie did a great job making the villains feel genuinely vile while keeping the emotional heart of Kat and Liam's story front and center.
This book brings together obsession, vengeance, trauma, devotion, and plenty of darkness while still keeping the romance at its center. 🖤🔥 Kat's determination never wavers, and Liam's willingness to go to terrifying lengths for her makes their bond feel every bit as intense as it did in Heart Eyes. ❤️🔥
By the end, I felt like Kat finally got something she had been denied for so long: a place where she was wanted, loved, and safe.🥹❤️ Liam also gets the chance to understand that letting people in doesn't make him weak. Their ending felt earned, emotional, and incredibly satisfying. ✨
Heart Eyes pulled me into Kat and Liam's world, but Death Kiss completely swallowed me whole.🖤🌑 Dark, twisted, emotional, steamy, and packed with revenge, this was exactly the kind of finale I wanted for them. 🔥🔪💋

Dear Reader, this book made me evade sleep until I finished because I was CONSUMED by Kat and Liam. 🩷
If you thought that Heart Eyes was intense, just wait until you read Death Kiss. Kat and Liam are in their revenge/vigilante era. The second in the Lovesick duet is definitely darker but we have Effie’s trademark banter to bring some light to dark subjects. I will read anything by Effie because I love her writing style. She has a way of making you feel like you are there. You feel emotions deeply, you imagine scenes vividly and you laugh loudly at her quirky sayings and jokes.
“There’s no degree required for going on a killing spree to rid the world of the scum who scarred my man.”
What we quickly learn is that Kat is just as obsessed with Liam as he is with her. She will stop at nothing to help get revenge for Liam, Sam and the others. This takes them both down a path filled with danger and obsession that starts becoming a little unhinged.

It wrenched my heart to see Liam struggle with being good enough for Kat because of his insecurities and past trauma. Kat is the light amongst his darkness but Kat’s darkness starts to seep out as the bodies stack up. The spice is INTENSE, messy and desperate as they use it to escape in to each other and away from the reality that they’re in. It’s one of the only things they both have control over and highlights just how obsessed they are with each other, and how much they TRUST each other which is beautiful.
We see multiple POVs in this book and the two others, I don’t want to give away but they bring another element of danger to Kat and Liam’s redrum spree. Will they be able to hold it together and carry on keeping secrets from those they love? Will the police begin linking the deaths together? How long do they have until they get caught? I suggest you read to find out!
P.S. there HAD to be a mention of the panties coffee right?

After Heart Eyes, I was absolutely ready to dive back into Kat and Liam’s beautifully fucked-up little world, and Death Kiss gave me exactly the kind of chaos I was hoping for. These two have never exactly been the poster children for healthy decision-making, and honestly? That is part of their charm. LOL!
What I love most about them is how perfectly their particular brands of crazy fit together. Liam may be obsessive, protective, and morally questionable as hell, but Kat isn’t some innocent little thing being dragged along for the ride. She can absolutely meet him in the darkness, and I LOVE that about her.
There is something ridiculously entertaining about a couple who looks at revenge, danger, and terrible ideas and basically says, “Okay, but what if we did it together?” Their devotion to one another is intense, possessive, and just the right amount of unhinged.
Effie Campbell does such a good job mixing darkness with those softer moments that make you genuinely care about these characters. Beneath all the obsession and questionable morals, Kat and Liam really do feel like two people who found the one person capable of understanding every damaged little piece of them.
Death Kiss was dark, addictive, twisted, romantic, and a damn good continuation of their story. Apparently, my favorite love language is now mutual obsession with a side of revenge. Who knew?

Death Kiss did not disappoint. I couldn't stop reading this once I started. I HAD to know what was going to happen with Liam and Kat (and other characters who I won't name because...no spoilers).
“How the f*ck was killing a guy the least problematic part of today?”
Effie has such a way with words. When you read her work you feel like you are right there, part of the scene. You are laughing, gasping, and in so much suspense right alongside the characters. I absolutely will read ANYTHING she writes.
This novel is the second part of a duet, but you could pick this up and read it alone and still have a good hold on what has been happening. But honestly? Why would you want to. Do not miss either one of these Dark Romance reads. 6 stars, god tier, insta-buy, however your top reads are characterized, this is it.

Death Kiss did not disappoint. I couldn't stop reading this once I started. I HAD to know what was going to happen with Liam and Kat (and other characters who I won't name because...no spoilers).

Effie has such a way with words. When you read her work you feel like you are right there, part of the scene. You are laughing, gasping, and in so much suspense right alongside the characters. I absolutely will read ANYTHING she writes.
This novel is the second part of a duet, but you could pick this up and read it alone and still have a good hold on what has been happening. But honestly? Why would you want to. Do not miss either one of these Dark Romance reads. 6 stars, god tier, insta-buy, however your top reads are characterized, this is it.

Effie has done it again. I loved Heart Eyes so much and loved Death Kiss just as much. I was pulled in from the beginning and devoured it in a day.
Death Kiss follows Liam's plan for revenge with Kat right beside him, fighting with him and fighting for him.
I still adore Liam and Kat. ❤️ Their chemistry and the way they love each other is beautiful. Liam still struggles with feeling like he is enough for her, he still feels broken, but Kat is always there to show him that he is more than enough. The pain that he still carries is absolutely heartbreaking, but Kat is so good to him. Ugh, they are perfect together and I love them so much!
Chapter 36?! Oh my goodness... I was holding my breath! I also enjoyed getting bits of Ellie and Freddie. I feel like those two are perfect for each other as well. I love that Kat fits in so well with Liam's family and she gets to have that family/love she always wanted and never got growing up. Seeing Liam start breaking down those walls and letting his sister and parents in was absolutely beautiful as well.
Overall, this book wrapped up the series amazingly and the conclusion is very, very satisfying.

I finished this book in a day! This is the conclusion to the Lovesick Duet, and it did not disappoint.

I thought book one was great. And it was. This one tied everything together in a way I hadn't expected. Effie Campbell is a star when it comes to storytelling. She has this way of getting you to fall for some characters and want to throttle others. Which is exactly what this book did to me.
We saw the MC's love story unfold in book one. This was really was about all of the "background" stuff from book one and pull it forward. Because it's needed. It's very well thought out, it all fits together. We still see those relationship testing moments because relationships are messy- even for these two.
I am so fortunate that I got to read this before it hits the public. When I say buckle up because this book will take you for a ride, I mean it.

Effie Campbell’s books are so much fun to read. She has such a fun and flirty style. Her creativity with insults, made up words and quirky characters never disappoint. This book, while still silly and fun, has some moments of serious reflection and angst.

This book was an epic end to the duet. Liam and Kat are still getting their revenge. A few obstacles are thrown their way but that doesn’t stop them from releasing havoc on these sorry folks.
We get more of their story dynamic. They are so in love it’s sickening, Ellie for sure thinks so, lol! I on the other hand thought their spicy scenes were HOT! We get more of Ellie as well. That woman has patience of gold bc I could neverrrrrr! We are also introduced to a new character named Freddie.
Deaths Kiss is a super fast paced read. It will have you turning them pages like the Indy 500 to figure out what happens next. I couldn’t put it down! Unhinged smutness glory!

Perfect second part of this duet. Im going to keep this short and sweet else I'll end up giving spoiler but this was hotter and heavier than book 1 in every way possible. Watching them work together to save eachother (with a little help) was beautiful. I especially loved the last chapter and epalogue, they finished the book and duet so well. Death Kiss was a fantastic follow up to Heart Eyes! I was really curious to see what was next for Kat and Liam and what this delivered was fun, smutty with a little bit of gore!
I thought we were ending with a cutesy little epilogue but I should've known better, smut, smut and more smut, should I have expected anything less!

I do think i liked the 1st book better then this one but it was still a great book, The beginning was a bit slow but i loved the rest especially the ending i was so happy for everyone im glad Ellie got her happy ending and Liam and Kat are even more happy then before.

Ohhhh, I was itching to get back into Liam and Kat's world. Loved this vigilante pair and loved the conclusion of this duet.

Effie really knows how to hook you. Was so ready for this after book 1. Love Kay and Liam. That revenge was so satisfying. Working the panty coffee back in 😂 definitely worth the read.
