Raşit Çavaş'ın YKY'deki yayın yönetmenliği döneminde Amerikan ve Fransız-Belçika ekolünden çizgiroman albümleri yayınevi katalogunda yer buldu.
Raşit bey ayrıldıktan sonra epey hız kesmiş de olsa bu yayınlar sürüyor.
Marsupilami, on sayı kadar yayın şansı buldu.
Kendi çizgi film serisine, filmine ve hatta kendi adında bir asteroide sahip olsa da, aslında Marsupilami, Spirou ve Fantasio serisinin bir yan karakteri. Spirou'nun ilk dönem albümlerindeki bu hayali ev hayvanı, daha sonra yerini sincap Spip'e bırakıp ormanına dönmüş, evlenip çoluk çocuğa karışmış gibi gözüküyor.
Bu seriden okuduğum ilk albüm bu. Spirou mizahını özlemişim, onu fark ettim. Ama Spirou senaryoları tabii çok daha geniş bir arka plana sahip. Dünyanın farklı yerlerinde, misal İstanbul'da yer alabiliyor, bilimkurgu / fantastik konular yer bulabiliyor.
Oysa bu spin-off serisinde Marsupilami'nin ormanındayız. Dolayısıyla ben ana seriyi tercih ederim.
Diğer yorumlarda bu albüm için ırkçılık eleştirisi var. Medeniyetten nasibini almamış, Afrikalı vahşi ve cahil bir kabile konu ediliyor. Birkaç batılı var, onlar da örnek tipleme değil, hepsi haydut. Seksenlerde normal sayılabilecek bir durum bu sanırım. Tanrılar Çıldırmış Olmalı filmini düşünün mesela.
Tenten'in Kongo ve Sovyetler maceralarına kıyasla çok daha masum olduğu kesin.

Ova epizoda je meni bila zabavnija od prethodne (Marsupilamijev rep). Prevod je prilično solidan, ako se ima u vidu da i se i u originalu u više od pola stripa priča kako marsupilamskim, tako i raznim iskvarenima "stranjskim" jezicima i naglascima.

It's undoubtably fun with especially interesting/weird characters and silly art but this tome as a whole did not stimulated my higher sensibilities.

Never read The Marsupilami before and a friend lent the comic to me. Moderately fun but not sure if I'd ever get hooked on the series!

The Marsupilami, the creation of cartooning genius Franquin during his time on the splendid Spirou and Fantasio, now has his own series, and long overdue it is too. Although this new series is not created by Franquin himself, he has overseen it, and huge credit to Batem for complementing Franquin’s style so well, capturing the frantic dynamism and tomfoolery that makes the character, and the stories, so energetic and captivating.
Set in the South American country of Palombia, the Marsupilami is a revered but mysterious creature little known in the outside world. To date, in the English translations of Spirou and Fantasio, the Marsupilami has been one of a kind, but in this series, set within his own habitat, we also get to meet his family, consisting of three children and their strangely glamorous mother.
In this particular tale the plot involves the transport of a baby panda, being escorted from the Palombian capital’s city zoo by two Chinese nationals laden with a large expenses account. Seeking to take advantage of this, an unscrupulous tour operator books them onto the country’s most despicable and unairworthy plane, piloted by a dodgy German, which naturally comes a cropper early in the flight and plummets into the jungle canopy below. Palombia was, we’re told, once a rich source of fresh bamboo, but this has almost entirely been obliterated, so when the Marsupilami and family stumble upon the stranded creature they swiftly work out this is what they need to secure to ensure the cub’s survival. But it’s not just the panda that has survived the crash, so soon the German pilot and a deceitful chief of a local tribe are looking to make the most of the situation.
Like many similar books, Asterix jumps straight to mind, the creators have a significant amount of fun poking fun at national stereotypes, and I suspect some may find the depictions of the Chinese and native tribe as problematic, but I’d argue that it’s never jingoistic – everyone is exploited for some comic potential.
With the recent Asterix volume being something of a disappointment it’s rather pleasing to still come across a new book that embodies the humour and illustrative zest the medium deserves. A lot of fun, from cover to cover, this is a book that all ages can enjoy.

Zwei Fremde wollen einen Panda transportieren und beauftragen den günstigsten Flieger, den sie finden können. Wenig verwunderlich ist, dass das Flugzeug abstürzt und der Panda mitten im Dschungel landet. Zum Glück findet das Marsupilami mit seiner Familie den kleinen Panda. Doch was essen kleine Panda? Sie bieten ihm alles an bis sie merken, dass er Bambus isst. Doch Bambus wächst leider nicht an jeder Stelle. Das Marsupilami plündert kurzerhand ein Dorf, doch der Appetit des kleinen Pandas ist unersättlich. Wie gut, dass die Fremden den kleinen Panda finden und mitnehmen.
Das Cover mit dem kleinen Panda finde ich echt lustig. Vor allem weil das Weibchen eher gelassen wirkt als das Marsupilami selbst. Die drei kleinen Kinder sind ebenfalls verunsichert. Der Zeichenstil ist gewohnt gut. Ich liebe den Ideenreichtum, welcher gekonnt in Szene gesetzt wird.
Dieser Comic konnte mich ebenfalls überzeugen. Auch hier kann man wieder einige Weisheiten entdecken. Günstig muss nicht immer gut sein. Es zeigt auch, das Sparen am falschen Ende immer seine Konsequenzen hat. Und zu guter Letzt zeigt der Comic, dass nicht jedes Tier überall leben kann und dass jedes Tier seine eigenen Bedürfnisse hat, die es zu befriedigen gilt.
Ich kann die Comics rund um das Marsupilami wärmstens empfehlen. Die Themen werden witzig und gut transportiert und umgesetzt.

Já li definitivamente muito melhor com os maravilhosos Marsupilamis, principamente porque essas personagens, que supostamente seriam as principais, aparecem muito menos neste livro do que eu estava à espera.
A leitura foi difícil e confusa devido à quantidade de idiomas presentes. Não sei se isso se deve ao original ou à tradução mas estragou-me muito a experiência.
