Lycan King Billionaire’s Rejected Runaway Bookish Mate: A Rejected Mate Secret Baby Shifter Romance

Rate this book
I never believed fated mates were real,
Until my billionaire Lycan King boss growled “Mate” at me,
pinned me against the wall,
claimed me and left me pregnant.

Easton Craine. My boss. My best friend’s older brother. The man who never once looked twice at the bookish assistant outside his office.

Until that night.

His eyes flash gold. He crosses the ballroom, grabs my shoulders, and growls one word.

“Mate.”

For one hour, I believed him.

Teeth at my throat. Hands between my thighs. A king who’s been waiting ten years to taste me.

Apparently fated mates are real. But the next morning I catch another woman kissing him in a garden. And at brunch, in front of a hundred wolves, he ends me in six “I reject you as my mate.”

I didn’t cry or beg. I didn’t look back.

I run to a small town and a dusty bookshop, pregnant with the next Lycan King. Turns out growing up in an orphanage teaches you how to disappear.

The mate bond didn’t break. It rotted. His mother lied about me being barren.
Great. Supernatural mother-in-law.

Nine months later the King finds me on a hospital floor, on his knees, meeting the son he’s never held.

“I made the worst mistake of my life.”

Kings don’t kneel. Mine will.

He’ll grovel. He’ll bleed. He’ll spend every night earning his way back.

I already learned how to live without him. Let him earn it.

Lycan King Billionaire’s Rejected Runaway Bookish Mate is a rejected mate, secret baby, fated mates shifter romance featuring a billionaire Lycan King who publicly rejected his human fated mate hours after their bond snapped, and the bookish orphan assistant who vanished pregnant with his heir and rebuilt her life while he spent nine months going feral trying to find her, intended for 18+ readers due to mature content and themes.

Great story

Of all the books in the series, I think that this is my favorite. Fast paced with lots of drama angst some disloyalty, steam, and some comedy made it a really great book to read. It was hard to put down, and I read it almost in one sitting I didn’t like the I didn’t like the male main character at first, but he improved as I read through the book and I ended up liking him. I love the little kids in the book, and the main female character was awesome. But I think the main female character’s best friend took everything. maybe in future there’ll be a book about her.

I kinda skimmed. I'm so tired of every werewolf novel lately involves a king and a human. Where are the cool alpha FMCs? And why do the cool women in the world (like H's sister) NEVER get mates?
I liked that the H and h knew each other before the romance, but again, it was one night, of course she's preggers, of course he has a plan that he never tells her about and rejects her in public. At least he finds her the day she gives birth. But still, there's inconsistencies. He supposedly works all day in the bookstore, then sits outside her apartment every night to watch over her and the baby, yet says he learned how to cook in the room he was renting... just little things that pulled me out of the story. She ends up being smarter than all of them and able to figure out the solution in half the time. It was fine.
The banter is on repeat.
Part of me wishes she'd ended up with her childhood friend. Yes, he was human, but he owned a bookstore and loved cats!

It was ok

You know this really bothered me that they used protection exactly one time.... that one part where she rolled it on really threw me, just for the fact that they never used them before or after just that one time 🤷🏻‍♀️ I hated that she had so many mental issues that she kept trying to run. And that she kept his son away from him when he was so young. She wouldn't let him hold his son like I know you two have issues but you can't keep a baby from its dad.

good grief

Good grief I can’t believe I made it through this book!!!!!! Insane! The amount of changes in the story the author didn’t keep straight really irked me! For instance on a business trip they drove to the location but then the author refers to a flight… again, he followed the sister in a car from his home but then the author refers to his car as a rental car, she arrived by bus to her friends door but then is taking her car home back to Chicago. Make it make sense. Then towards the end of the book out of the blue the author refers to condoms, so now you’re going to practice safe sex??? Oh dear!

excellent shifter story

One of the best shifter books I’ve read in a while and the only 5* given to a shifter book this year. Strong, courageous FMC, who is a human! Romance book lover :-) Fantastic female best friend, loyal and supportive but doesn’t push or manipulate the FMC to get together with the H. Interesting plot that is almost an epic tale from corporate boardrooms to small town bookstores to shifter attacks and political intrigue. Loved the banter between the two mates and how they resolved their conflicts. Fun ending and HEA.

What do you mean in 8 years Easton and his fake fiancée Vivian never even looked for proof his father was innocent? They made a huge plan to get the evidence after they were married…but they never ONCE tried looking for the proof in the meantime?

There were too many inconsistencies in the story and I lost focus. Too many times I thought to myself “that’s not what happened” and had to go back. I got to like 80% and just gave up.

Ky and Easton

This was a good book. I felt at time things dragged on but given the situation it felt real and I really enjoyed how she wasn’t obsessed like most stories have the mate bond to be. That they were able to choose each other and fall in love without the pressure of the bond. This was different than other shifter books I read and thats what earned a 5 star rating.

Nice Story

I did like the book for the most part but I was ready to backhand the fc, specially in the last quarter of the book.
The constant " I can't stay, I must leave" was exhausting. Yes, we getting it. It kinda seemed that the Author was trying to fill empty spaces but the only thing it did was to make the FC whiny and needy.
Other than that I did enjoyed the story.

First, I thought this book was going to be a fast silly read, and that is not what I got. The title doesn’t do this book justice and so I feel it’s wrongly titled.

No spoilers ahead.

This was a mostly serious and angsty book. It was long and filled with ups and downs. I was pleasantly surprised by the merging of two genres I like; alphahole or bosshole and shifters.

SO good!

I adored these characters. They’re so deep and layered. The plot was fantastic and the writing done so well. I love how the author so effortlessly tied everything together. Her descriptors of their bond were so romantic. I laughed and cried, which to me, equates to a perfect reading experience. I can’t wait to dive into the next one.

Way too long

This could have been shortened by about 200 hundred pages and nothing would be missing. The repetitiveness was so unnecessary, I ended up skipping a lot and not missing the plot at all. And please, please please get a proof reader.

I love their work.

This was soooo good. Not as intense, but a sweet, slow burn chemistry, and to top it off you have the heroine as a book lover??!!! Amazing!!
