Each and Every Person Needs to Read This!

I'm a Speculative Fantasy Author, Opinion Editorialist, and an Avid Reader, but I wasn't prepared for this book even though I've read every one of Rabbi Jonathan Cahn's books up until this one. The format made this like seeing a movie! Drama with facts and characters with emotional pull made this more than just a book - THIS is an Experience. I've been researching different elements of history for my own nonfiction book, but this book kicked the breath out of me more than once with things I never had even heard about or read about in such strangling detail! I didn't expect the book to be as intensive as the full commercials... but it was MORE. I implore every single person who sees this review to GET THIS BOOK NOW! You won't regret it, and it might save your life if you are searching for what Ariel was and didn't even know it. You can find it. Read the book and see what YOU are being called to do...

While reading "The Altar of Pergamon", I started creating a fact-only guide, using Wikipedia, AI, and other sources to check the history for myself. The events surrounding AA Flight #618, where Cahn was attacked by a man who was subsequently duct-taped, happened to coincide with the release of this book—which certainly caught my attention (shocker, I know).

But what really got me was reading the book and then independently fact-checking it. Quite frankly, I was in awe.

Why did Cahn wrap this incredible history in a fictional thriller? As he has explained in interviews, he wanted to reach people—including those who might never pick up a book about biblical prophecy. Much as the movie "Nefarious" captivated some of us, the story draws you in while asking you to consider much deeper questions.

For the past few years, I’ve had a growing sense that the Bible contains layers and connections that even knowledgeable scholars and pastors may not fully recognize. This book helped me see a bigger picture—the intersection of Scripture, history, culture, and biblical prophecy.

Cahn takes us from the ancient world and the Altar of Pergamon through remarkable events of the 19th and 20th centuries and into our own time. His premise is that ancient patterns are resurfacing before our eyes.

Do I expect every reader to accept every connection Cahn makes? No. That’s actually one reason I’m writing this review. Check it out for yourself.

We recently marked the 25th anniversary of 9/11, and the memorials in New York were profoundly moving. I remember how extraordinarily united America felt after September 11, 2001. American flags were suddenly in short supply; even traffic seemed less frustrating! Twenty-five years later, our country feels profoundly divided. Whatever one’s politics, culture, faith—or lack of faith—the contrast between America then and America now is striking.

For me, this book was a fresh reminder to pay closer attention to biblical prophecy and to the patterns of history. Many of the historical events and connections Cahn discusses can be independently investigated by anyone willing to take the time to look, question, think, and—as I like to say—use their noodles.

So that’s my invitation: read it. Verify it. Reflect on it. Pray about it. Then draw your own conclusions.

That seems far more worthwhile than getting swallowed up in the endless, mind-numbing noise of the world.

Truth about the spiritual war that affects the world we live in!

Jonathan did it again! This reveals so much about why the world seems bent on self-destruction and that whole groups of people are seemingly infected with the contagion of lies. This book is wild and at times so unbelievable you’d think it was all made up- but it’s not! I did a large amount of fact-checking throughout because I just kept thinking, “There’s no way!” But every time I would be stunned to see that it was true. Reading this book will “red pill” you and open your eyes to the world around you. From Ancient Greece to Nazi Germany to Communist Russia to present day, the connections are undeniable.
I loved how it was written and how the onion was peeled back layer by layer. This is my first book by Jonathan Cahn and only heard about it due to him being attacked on flight 618 recently and it piqued my interest. I’ll be reading more by him!

Another spectacular book by Jonathan Cahn! I eagerly await the release of his books as I immediately start reading and stick with them until I'm done. This one took me less than a week and kept me up quite late but it was so worth it. I did not know what the Altar of Pergamon was, although I was familiar with the verse that mentions Pergamon itself in the Book of Revelation. This book was written as if it were a novel. The characters are made up but the message is true. I checked the actual Altar out on the computer to familiarize myself with how it looked so I could visualize it. The connections he makes with dates, events and the Altar are mind-boggling. He shows, once again, how there is so much more to the Bible than we can possibly know in our lifetimes. This is riveting, awe-inspiring and will encourage your faith and assure you that nothing happens by mistake. It is all a part of God's divine plan.

I think non-history buffs would find this book very informative. None of what was written in this book surprised me. Any rational person could see Hitler and his NAZI regime were inspired by evil.

Also, speaking as Christian and as a history buff, one only need read the Bible, specifically Revelation, to see the work of evil through the ages and what will happen in the future.

In addition, it's very clear in today's society, throughout the world the persecution of Christians and growing influence of Islam in the United States.

I suppose this was Mr. Cahn's attempt at connecting the dots for those who have never read books detailing the lives of Hitler, et al.

Thought I’d check this out after hearing an interview with the author. The idea is interesting, but it’s written like a kid was the author. The characters are so dumb that they can’t see the most obvious plot connections. It feels like the storyline of a 90’s video game. The characters go to a location and someone is there waiting to tell them the next piece of the mystery. They can’t hear the whole thing, though the person telling them obviously knows more. They have to go to the next location to hear the next part. And so on. Not sure how this has so many 5 star reviews. It’s basically a non-fiction book dressed up with a little storyline. I couldn’t finish it.

Altar of Pergamon may not be Jonathan's very best book, but it is among his best. (I think Oracle and Return of the gods were his best.)
BUT, this may well be his most important book. Of that I am confident.

I urge you to read it. And if you start it. Be sure the you finish it. Its message is true, it is real. And the time is near.

Everyone should definitely give this a read as it breaks down so much knowledge of the history of so many events and ties it into biblical prophecies and how it relates to where we are.

It Touched My Experience

I have both Audible and Kindle versions and have my mind going over the mystery. I was taken back to my Cold War in uniform days. I saw the Berlin Wall in person. I never knew, until now, just how close I was to the Altar when I visited that city.
