ARC REVIEW, although now available on KU!

maybe 3.5?? ⭐⭐⭐

this book was a weird one for me, they were elements i really loved, but elements that dragged and also annoyed me.

the racing/formula 1 inspired setting was cool and i appreciated that it wasn't just swept under the rug as an insignificant plot point like so many sports romances do (honestly, don't do a sports romance if you ain't gonna focus on the sport at all).

it wasn't like game changers levels of sport focused but i think it did it well without it being overwhelming. also i just like forumla 1, it's a rich persons sport and my god were these people rich.

i also liked that this was quite a bit darker than a normal sports romance, the author does label it as a dark romance which i guess it is and it isn't. there are some darker themes, but i wouldn’t say its the primary focus.

however, it was too long and contrary to what i normally love there were too many sex scenes that were repeats of one another and it was just kinda boring after a while?

from about 50% to 80% i found myself skimming a lot of parts and especially skimming the sex scenes because they were not doing anything for me. yikeees.

it was 600 pages. 600 pages. 600 pages .

also, yes i did like wilder and reed and i thought their relationship was cute, but they were definitely not my favourite characters. reed's personality was kinda nothing and wilder just had the generic bad boy aesthetic which is fineeee, but i found myself not getting that excited about their HEA.

now. the character that i did love was caden. i am SO interested in this bad boy, obsessed maybe. i need to know more about him and i can't wait for whatever happens with the twins. the side characters were fun and we've definitely set up a load more books with the sheer number of side characters and couples that were teased.

all in all, i did enjoy it, but it dragged and the sex was kinda mehh.

Honestly 600 pages was way too much for what this story is, and it led to a lot of repetition, far too many sex scenes and a slow pace, which is why it's not a 5 star read for me. If a romance story is taking up 600 pages then I expect it to be super intricate and non-stop progress, whereas this just felt like a bog standard romance that needed a brutal edit.

I did really like getting to know these characters though - both the MCs and the side characters - and it was fun to see mentions of Elle and Linc, as well as cameos from Helen, Arthur, Marcus, and Jace. I haven't read all of the Fairfield U books, just the MM book, but I didn't feel like I was missing any background info.

I don't really understand the negativity I've seen in other reviews regarding the threesome between Wilder, Reed and Matt though. To me it came across really clearly that although Wilder wanted Reed, he wasn't ready to accept it yet, and the next best option was to share him with his best friend Matt rather than allow Reed to be with a stranger! Reed and Wilder haven't gotten together as anything other than a couple of casual hookups up until this point, so it isn't physical cheating and it isn't emotional cheating. We get Wild's internal thoughts for the whole scene, and he's so clear that he hates what's happening. He is in control of the situation, he removes Matteo when it gets too much, he tells Matteo the next day that nothing else will ever happen between Matteo and Reed... It felt very in keeping with a possessive character who was really struggling to accept that he'd met someone special. Once Wild accepts his feelings, there's no way he'd ever share Reed with anyone, and that was also really clear.

Reed's struggles were difficult for me to relate to because it was obvious his dad would never keep his word, so he was essentially suffering for his dad's enjoyment and nothing more. It did feel like it dragged on far too long though. If this book had been condensed it would have had more impact for me, but by the time Reed's dad gets his comeuppance I was bored of waiting for it.

The racing was really interesting to me also. I'm a big F1 fan and while this isn't based on F1, there were elements that were similar but the league that was created was so fun and actually sounds way better. I did like that the Academy team were all so close and supportive of each other, but I wish there'd been a little more interaction with other racers too.

The darker elements to the plot made this book feel right at home with the Black Hallows series, and I knew to expect the dramatics, but Caden intrigued me more than the actual MCs did and I'm really hoping he gets a book. I also want a story for Matt, and I'm guessing that the next book will be some kind of poly/RH situation with Casper and the guys maybe? Either way, I'm definitely interested in reading more about these side characters, even if they are MF pairings.

So, I got past the constant mentions of the side characters sex life and manwhorish ways of sharing and fucking and whatnot🤢

Then I got past Matteo, a pretty good friend to Wilder (MMC1), and the few mentions of how these two have fucked plenty of times over the last 3 years🤢

Then I got past the jokes of Matteo in front of everyone including Reed (MMC2) about him and Wilder fucking🤢

To get to 29%, where I got a fucking threesome between Wilder, Reed, and Matteo, where Wilder is giving commands to Matteo to blow Reed then Wilder fucking Reed in front of Matteo. A fucking threesome after Wilder and Prescott have banged. A fucking threesome after the two have shared a passionate kiss. A threesome not mentioned in content warnings🤢

Ok I'm not rating it, it's GN Wright so I'm sure it would have been five stars but had to stop at the 29% mark when this branched Into threesome territory.

I'm all for RH or MMM but when you have males that are dominant and possessive and it's been noted several times how much you don't want other men looking or touching your guy to then let it happen doesn't sit right with me in the character development so I had to DNF it which I'm gutted about as I had been looking forward to this one.

Technically they aren't together together at this stage so it's not cheating or anything like that but it filled me with a sense of wrongness for the characters.

I loved the first book I read by this author and so I was so excited to dive into this one too. Two MM romances by a primarily MF author? Hell yes! More MM romances, pleaseee!!

Now first off, the threesome scene. I am one who, if it's before any commitment or real feelings, I don't like it at all, but I can get passed it. This author had a foursome (kinda) scene in the other MM book she did, before the main couple was together, and one of them wasn't participating, so I was able to get passed it fairly easily.

Why is this one a bit different for me? Well, one, it wasn't warned for. AT ALL. I don't remember if them with others was warned for in the other book, although it should have been, but it definitely wasn't here. Like what the fuck? That pissed me off. If it was warned for, at least I would know it was coming instead of it happening out of fucking nowhere.

Yeah, Matteo was clearly attracted to Reed, but Reed wasn't to him and it was also quite clear something was brewing between Reed and Wilder, so even if his friend was eyeing Reed, who cares? That doesn't mean I should be on guard for an actual threesome.

And yes, it happens somewhat early, at 29% into the story. But this is a 600 page book, so 29% into this is already passed 100 pages. So it really bordered on too late to have it for me to get passed it, in my opinion.

Wilder was already fairly possessive at this point, even if yes, they had just had sex once and made out once at this point.

So was I ultimately able to get passed it and read the rest? Yes. But did I hate the whole thing? YES. I mean, I always don't like or care for a threesome in my romances - not a poly person either, but at least poly relationships are clear or warned for pretty clearly and I can just avoid those entirely - but if they happen early on, before any feelings happen, I can just get passed it, and as long as it never happens again.

Thankfully, that happens here. I'm spoiling here, but I know I would want to know this if were me, so **SPOILERS*** but the threesome at 29% is the only one in the entire book, and then there is no one else for either of them, with or without each other, for the rest of book. That's a big reason this story was overall saved for me.

BUT - the lack of warning, and it happening on the edge of too late, and it being so damn detailed, REALLY pissed me off. Wilder is already fairly possessive of Reed at this point, and he hates Matteo touching him at the same time he allows it? HUH?! Yeah he tries to force it to be casual between them because Reed keeps saying that's all it can be and all it is, but still he's highly possessive - and even afterward, warns Matteo to never touch Reed again!! - and yet...allows it anyway???

I would have, honestly, rather we got a "Reed went off and had sex with Matteo" with NO description of it, than have had to read all that.

Yes, the Wilder and Reed parts of it were hot AF and it got pretty intense and if Matteo wasn't there and involved in any way, I would have loved that scene! But why the fuck does it even happen? Why is it even necessary? It's not! Matteo blows Reed a bit, and near the end Wilder is fucking Reed above Matteo and kind of jerks them both off together as he's fucking Reed - but otherwise, Matteo isn't involved beyond that. He doesn't kiss or fuck Reed or anything beyond what I just said.

SO okay, at least it wasn't as bad as it could have been? Another reason I was able to ultimately get passed it - but also, WHY at all? Why so detailed? What was the point of Matteo in that scene, truly? Other than to piss me off lol.

I like Matteo, I do. I can't wait for his book - he clearly is going to be paired with the man he flirts with at the end - but I don't need him in a threesome with the main couple of this book, okay? Just no.

What ultimately gets me the most, too, is the contradiction of a very possessive Wilder and yet him allowed Matteo to touch Reed and go so far as to blow him, for quite a bit I might add. Yeah, he doesn't look, but he literally forced Matteo onto Reed MORE at one point by pushing his head down farther. LIKE WHAT?

He hates it the whole time and yet encourages more? He starts fucking Reed and then HE'S the one to place Reed over Matteo? And then hold both their dicks together and jerk them off? HUH?! It doesn't make sense, it doesn't compute to me, and it just served to piss me off. I felt, too, that feelings were starting to emerge at this point. Wilder and Reed already had a fairly intimate moment on that rooftop with that deep, long make out session. It just felt on the edge of too late for my tastes.

Hell, even REED HIMSELF, late in the book, still wonders why Wilder was so possessive of him and yet still shared him with someone. SAME, REED, SAME!

Although why does Reed even agree? He doesn't seem at all attracted to or into Matteo, he's mostly all about Wilder, but Wilder suggests him and he's up for it? I also didn't like him feeling tempted, at one point during the threesome while Wilder is fucking him, to lick Matteo's dick. It's a fleeting thought, but Reed even wanting to for a second annoyed me. Where was his possessiveness? I want mutual possessiveness, please and thank you.

Does Reed care to be with anyone else as they fall deeper in love? No. But he's clearly trying to keep Widler at arms length because of his father - understandable - that we never really get possessiveness from him. But I would have liked it. Wilder is a hot, up and coming racing star and you're telling me no one flirts with him? And Reed never gets jealous? *sigh*

SO YEAH, so say I was unhappy about that threesome scene is an understatement. So my star off is mainly because of that and everything I complained about above about it is why.

Was this perhaps a bit too long as well? Yeah. So that factors into my star off, as well as a lot of misplaced commas through this, but otherwise, it was mainly that scene alone and everything surrounding it which pissed me off. It was just, in the end, highly unnecessary and honestly? Didn't make a whole lot of sense with Wilder already being so damn possessive.

Matteo's attraction to Reed also just disappears after that lol. I mean, I guess it happens, but...OKAY.

Anyway, aside from that rage inducing threesome - the rest of this? Wonderful, amazing, I loved it.

Reed and Wilder together? Perfection. They had amazing chemistry, and man oh man is Wilder so much sweeter than he shows the world. He's a little hardened by what Caden, his cousin does and all, but overall Wilder is such a kind man. He's also just kind of used to dealing with basically a literal psychopath in his cousin, Caden, and the world Caden moves through - the illegal underground racing track place and all that - but otherwise Wilder isn't all that hardened or bad himself.

He treats Reed amazingly. And I understand completely Reed's situation. He's put into such a horrible spot, and I think if he didn't have his younger brother, Freddie, to protect, that he wouldn't have bent to his horrible, abusive father's will so much and so easily. I think, ultimately, he would have left his father's world to be with Wilder.

Reed holds back so much because of this and keeps lying to himself, even as he continually can't stay away from Wilder, and it does get frustrating even as I understand it. I think this is where it being a bit too long comes in. We spend a lot of time with these two over the 4 main months of them together and falling in love, and there's a constant back and forth with Reed falling for Wilder, clearly, but trying so hard not to and continually putting walls up.

But he's also a kind, sweet guy who is just trapped by his abusive father who is holding his younger brother, who he loves dearly, above his head to make him do what he wants him to.

I, personally, loved all the sex scenes in this though (threesome aside ahem) and while there is a lot of sex, they had such amazing chemistry that it was always hot as fuck, and always enjoyable. I also really loved the strict roles in this, it just fit for them and there's so few strict roles in MM Romance these days that I love when we get it.

This doesn't affect the overall rating - but damn near the end I couldn't help but be pissed at Eloise, Reed's best friend. She's been his best friend since they were preteens. She's the closest person to Reed, the only person he has, really, to be himself around. She's also gay, they're both two pees in a pod in that regard, and she has rich domineering parents who expect her to be a certain way as well.

She's in the same boat, essentially, only she isn't physically abused by her parents. But she knows about Reed's father, she knows how bad it gets, she's been around for it all.

She knows, too, that he's threatening to hurt Freddie at the end too.

AND YET SHE STILL RUNS AWAY?! FUCKING HELL? GIRL?!

I'm sorry, but...holy shit?

Yes, this isn't technically her family, yes she's being suffocated by the same rigid expectations. I GET THAT.

But I still can't help but feel she was entirely selfish at the end. Because she gets to run away and be with the woman she loves and Reed is left to deal with the fallout. What did she think would happen? SERIOUSLY, what the fuck was she thinking?

And you know, maybe if it was the day before they were set to be married, I'd understand a bit more. The pressure is on, your whole life is about to chance for the worse, you'll be trapped, etc etc - I would get the impulsive decision to run away from it all.

But no, she does this the morning after their "engagement" is announced. SERIOUSLY, she couldn't last ONE fucking day? Reed is dying inside too and yet he doesn't leave. He can't leave. And I'm sorry, as his best friend in the whole world? Can't she endure for him? For Freddie, the literal child who had his ARM BROKEN BY HIS FATHER?

Again, I understand her but...I don't at the same time. As horrible as enduring and having to pretend to be who aren't is, and I know it was killing both of them, to leave your best friend to such a monster? Is, I'm sorry, selfish to me. Like what does Reed's father do? Beat him to within an inch of his life. He's lucky the fucker didn't kill him.

AND he threatened Reed that if he didn't fix it he'd start abusive Freddie against the terms of the deal Reed made with him.

LIKE?! I'm sorry, Eloise could have endured for her best friend. Or at least, given in more time before it all became to much, I don't know. Like holy shit, you're just like "bye bestie, good luck dealing with your dangerously abusive, psychopathic father and trying to keep your kid brother safe, I'm outtie!" and yet all she has to do is say sorry and barely a "things were strained" (without us seeing that) between them before in the epilogue they're "closer than ever" HOW? HOw the fuck did they get passed that? Reed doesn't blame her, but he should? At least to some degree? How did she gain his forgiveness???

UGH just. That whole Eloise part pissed me off.

Maybe that is part of my star off, actually, now that I think about it. Eloise should have faced more consequences, more anger from Reed, but what can you do?

Anyway, I did like Eloise up until that point, but now I have sour taste in my mouth after that.

But anyway, Caden to the rescue in the end - his brother might be getting an MF romance, but if he himself gets a romance with a guy I wouldn't be opposed... - and Wilder and Reed FINALLY get to have their HEA secured.

I loved it, I loved seeing them so happy, and Reed finally getting to be free for the first time in his life.

So yeah, I had my issues with this, but I loved Wilder and Reed and them together. I didn't much care for the actual racing, but their scenes surrounding it were great.

I'm still going to be happy to pick up this author's next MM story (unless this putting them with others/threesomes or more thing at first is at trend with this author because I cannot handle a surprise detailed scene of them with others every damn book, I'm sorry) which is hopefully Matteo and that guy he went off with at the end of the book.

I'm sure the next in this series will be Casper and that Billie girl that was mentioned, so I will be skipping that, but I'll be on the lookout for Matteo's story!

Oh this was so good. I loved Wilder and Reed! Their dynamic and banter was so fun and I loved their nicknames for each other. I really liked how their relationship developed and how Wilder and Reed really took care of each other when things got tough. I also loved all the side characters (minus Reed’s dad). I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Oh weeeeell… this is a hard one. I keep switching between 3 and 4 stars.

First of all, I felt like the book was a little too long. Around the 70% mark, I actually started skimming some of the spicy scenes, which, excuse me, I never do. Byeeee. 😭 There just wasn’t much happening with the storyline at that point.

What I really loved, though, was the cast of characters. The banter, their friendships, and their social lives made this book so much fun to read. Everyone was great… except Blue’s father, of course. He’s officially on my death list.

I also thought Reed and Wilder were the perfect match. I really enjoyed the slow burn, especially with the little hookups here and there. They were so cute and supportive and addicted to each other.

Just keep in mind that this is a dark romance. And I felt really bad for Reed. Like really really bad. I had to adjust my brain because, with the Formula 1 setting, it doesn’t always feel like it’s a dark romance.

All in all, it’s a good book. Not the best I’ve ever read, but the lovable characters and their chemistry kept me hooked through most of it. And ALSO if you haven’t read “the puck chase” by GN Wright, go read it. One of my favs!

This book was a rollercoaster of emotions for me. So many moments of wanting to scream, hug, shake and laugh with these characters! This is such a beautiful story between two male characters who come to deeply care about each other but also know that sometimes, loving someone isn’t enough to make a relationship work. This book explores so many important, deeply emotional and personal themes so I encourage everyone to take a look at the content and triggers! Overall, I really loved this book and it’s going to be one that I add to my GOD tier list!! The angst and tension kept me on the edge of my seat!! This series is going to be phenomenal!

GN Wright does not disappoint me and I’ve been SO excited to read this book!!

Wilder (MMC) and Reed (MMC) come from different worlds which creates a lot of tension in their dynamic. One can be who he wants out in the open and one has to hide unless he’s willing to face the consequences.

I was rooting for these two start to finish and was just so happy when their HEA came together. I’m so excited about this world and the cast and I JUST WANT TO REITERATE that I SAID in my Puck Boys review that I AM CLAIMING CADEN!!!!! tysm xxxx

This is the first boom I've read by R.N Wright and I really enjoyed it.

Wilder is introduced to us as an entitled nepo race car driver. But we soon learn he has a heart of gold. He's out here trying to prove to the world he earned his place on the track and wasn't handed it because of who his father is.

Reed's whole life is a lie careful crafted by his father. We get a brief sight the the real Reed very early on and learn why he allows himself to be molded by his father.

I loved watching Wilder break down Reeds walls, and give him a safe space to really be himself. I really enjoyed most of the side characters in this book. The love and banter between them all. How accepting they all are. I can't wait for the next book to see what they have all been up too.

4.5✨ loved this one! Gabby always writes such good mm! The prologue had me hooked from the start! The chemistry between these two and that first balcony scene!! Hot! Also I am obsessed with Caden he is so unhinged and I hope he gets a book! Loved Wilder and how he was so protective of Reed! Loved Reed and how he helped Wilder with his panic attacks. Just the perfect duo! I hated Reeds dad so much! Another thing Gabby is good at, Making us rage at side characters!! What fab start to the series!

Wilder was a cocky racer, and Reed was his buttoned up (at work) PR assistant.

They had chemistry from the start, when Wilder saw Reed as himself and not as work-Reed. And everything was so hot.

Reed. Oh. I felt so bad for him. But Wilder was there, and he saw, he protected, and he took care of Reed. He was down so bad for Reed.

I loved the two of them. And I’m hoping Caden gets a story because he’s a controlled sort of unhinged.

As an F1 fan, the moment I saw this book coming out I instantly added it to my TBR. There are not enough racing books out there. This is not F1, but moto sport, and I'll take it.

Pit Stop has been a superb surprise. I loved EVERYTHING about it. EVERYTHING.

Wilder and Reed are the definition of opposites attract. While Wilder is moody, broody, confident by default and has that I don't give a sht attitude, Reed is more reserved, confidence is a facade.

Wilder is the dark in a sunrise while Reed is the light in the night. They need each other for balance in a way that takes you by surprise.

The way they meet is funny, the way they meet again is sexy, the way they become part of each others lives is complicated. Their whole predicament is complicated, but they just can't let each other go. The way they gravitate towards each other is so nice to read about, and I love how everyone else around them helps them get to that in a safe way.

The found family in this book is phenomenal, the way everyone creates a safe space for Reed instantly is something that could make me cry if I think about it too much. This is my second G.N. Wright book and by now I can see how found family is one trope that she can do flawlessly.

I love all the other characters, and while the series is about the racing Miles, or so I think from the title, I hope one day we will get a book about Cade and another one about Matt. These two played a big role in Wilder's and Reed's story and they are some interesting ones for sure.

I loved how the book did not end once the season was over and that we got to spend more time with them outside of that. I think it was important to the story. The epilogue brings us full circle, and at the end ( even tho this is a long book ) I felt like I needed more.

This book is a chonker, and I get that it may not be for everyone, but honestly? I devoured it and can't wait for more. It's also probably the longest contemporary sports romance I've read too.

One advanced cw I would give is that there is a brief MMM scene in it, and that might not be everyone's cup of tea.

It's dark, and there's a lot of angst. The two leads can be idiots at times, both being in denial about what is happening between them.

His shirts are always pressed, and he also wears the most formal, boring clothes.
The two are very different, until the two hook up at a party.

In Wilder's defense, he wasn't expecting to see the blue haired, mesh and makeup wearing guy to end up being the same person.
Wilder becomes obsessed with this double life his manager is living, determined to find out why he's so scared of being himself.

I really loved their chemistry and how Wilder didn't want to let Reed go, he was so protective and always had them sleeping in the same bed.
I'm so excited to read more in this series, because the side characters also had me cackling.

***ARC REVIEW***

Okay but… this was such the perfect start to a new series. I love mm romance with my whole chest, so obviously I ate this up. The chemistry, the banter, the found family chaos, the emotional mess, the TENSION all of it was hitting. I’m fully obsessed with Wilder and Reed. The way they found each other and actually showed up for each other through all their stuff was so sweet, and watching their relationship grow was so beautiful.

And the side characters were so freaking funny. I need Caden’s book immediately because that man is feral and I need more of him. Overall, I had such a good time with this and I’m already pumped to see where the series goes next!

Wilder and Reed are perfect!
Usually when I read MM romance, it's the angst from one of them having feelings for someone he feels like he shouldn't (a man) that I really love. This book had non of that, they both already know, their feelings aren't a shock to either of them. However Ms G.N Wright still weaves that angst, want and delicious tension into everything she writes. And. It. Makes. Me. Feral!! 🔥

Now here's to hoping the next book is what I'm thinking it will be, because I need that book yesterday!

This book had SO much potential and I was so excited for it because I loved the Fairfield U Series so much. But I swear this wasn’t the same author. Reed’s story was heavy but him as a character felt bland, Wilder (along with Caden) basically carried the entire book. All the moments where I was emotional all had to do with Wilder and his words to Reed, and I truly love his character for that. The racing part was interesting and I liked how they got together but it just felt like a lot of sex with some plot and family traumas mixed in. The dad dying was also anticlimactic. Caden was “working on it” for so long that when it came I was just like, oh that’s it? Once again, Wilder made this book worth it. That man showed what it was like to love his people heavy and that he would do anything for them to feel safe and happy. And the ways he did that for Reed were just beautiful and sweet. He is such a lover boy at heart and I loved that about him. The way he came into Reed’s life and showed him that it’s ok to live life the way you want to. That being out in the open as yourself is the sure way to a happy and free life 🥹 Wilder is forever by Reed’s side showing him that he’s seen as exactly who he is and was always meant to be.

Didn’t necessarily hate the book, it just fell flat and could’ve well been at least 100 pages shorter. Not convinced that I’ll continue this series but we’ll see.

After spending over a week trying to settle between 3.5 and 4 stars, I'm calling it splits down the middle so a 3.75 is where we're at.

Now I love me some GN Wright books, but make in an MM and I run so fast to read it that I trip over myself. True Story. Now this one does say it's a dark romance, but for someone who reads predominantly dark romance, I wouldn't refer to it as such. It has dark themes, absolutely, but it's more of a gray romance and the perfect one to dip your toes in if you're looking for something gritty and with that added oomph.

I despise how intriguing I find him, loathe his perfect face, and detest that I can still feel the roughness of his brutal touch against me, but what I hate most, is that he knows that too.

If you love the grumpy/sunshine trope, this will definitely hit the spot. We have the ultimate grump with the broody and constantly grumpy Reed; the rookie racer who is having a season that is sure to set him up for the professional racing circuit. And as a sucker for all thing F1 and racing, I loved the premise for this book and series. And although I wish we got more of the F1 in this book, it was just enough to hit the spot.

Wilder is openly gay and makes no qualms about his darker tastes in the bedroom. This is a man who likes it rough, dirty, and one night only. But when the one night stand that he can't seem to stop thinking about also turns out to be the golden boy PR responsible for following him around and setting up his social to mirror the blowing up of his racing career, well, suffice it to say he's not exactly thrilled.

Prescott Reed Lamont IV is the definition of preppy rich boy on the surface. But beneath the persona he has to put on for the world is the wounded soul of someone who hides secrets; one being who he is, and the other is darker than anything he'd ever admit. There are definitely some dark themes covered in this book, but nothing broke my heart more than what Reed went through,

The sparks between them are instant and the chemistry was absolutely delicious. I couldn't get enough of their back and forth and Wilder's dirty mouth.

Get on your knees, pretty boy,” I command, shoving on his shoulder roughly, relishing in the way he obeys me instantly, even with the defiant gleam in his stare. I like it when my toys are good. I like it even better when they are bad.

But then somewhere around the 60% mark, I found myself starting to skim. And by the 80% mark, I was skimming through even those hotter than hell sex scenes. While the story was entertaining and the romance was sizzling, there just wasn't enough story to justify the length without making the pacing suffer and the steam feeling repetitive.

I see a few readers that mention not enjoying the sharing scene featured in the beginning of the romance build up. And I will say that I wasn't one of them. Wilder was still fully in denial about the depth of his feelings and the scene really drove home how incredibly possessive he is over Reed even when he is denying it. It fit the story and the characters and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

There is the additional plot of Wilder's cousin and a certain disappearing brother that felt mostly unfinished. It just didn't fully fit in this story and I can't quite wrap my mind about what it did outside of setting up Caden's story line. Which is what I'm hoping it was and then we get a bit more context in his book, which I hope we get. In Wilder's book, it felt more secondary and outside of the main story, so I didn't quite click with it.

All in all, the story was wildly entertaining and the romance between Reed and Wilder was so wholly satisfying. If you love an F1 MM romance but with some teeth and grit, this one will definitely hit the spot.

So I am currently unwell I didn’t know what to expect from this book going in as this is my first book by this author and I thought it was going to be just a silly little book about a race car driver honestly the cover is what made me wanna read what I didn’t know was that it was gonna make me blubber cry at 6 in the morning!
This is the story of Wilder and Reed aka Blue; Reed was contacted by Wilders dad to do a story on him so when he shows up in wilders room to do a interview it does not go well! Reed is in his posh suit and Wilder doesn’t react well telling him he doesn’t sleep with groupies before a race so after Reed leaves the room he goes to a party but dressed as himself he isn’t in his posh clothes he’s in what he likes he’s wearing his makeup and his hair is dyed blue so when wilder sees him again he doesn’t recognize him at all and after their spicy encounter on the balcony Reed throws back wilders own line at him and he finally realizes who he is
5e next day Reed is hired to be wilders personal PR rep for his rookie season and when wilder sees him again he is shocked
So their relationship starts off rocky AF total enemies well on wilders side Reed is just trying to get him to agree to interviews etc but slowly but surely they become more
Wilder doesn’t understand in the beginning why there are two versions of Reed the one he presents to the world as a Lamont and Reed the one who is open and free to his friends
In these books there’s always and I mean always an asshole parent and reeds is no exception he had to protect the family name so when he is photographed out with wilder and his rich friends and it’s in the news his dad stops by for a visit and it’s a brutal one
Wilders reaction is immediate when he sees how beat up Reed truly is and he gets his cousin who’s basically a psychopath if we go by what he did in the prologue to dig up what he can on his dad
This book has plenty of spicy moments for sure the balcony the castle the racetrack the damn yacht but we get plenty of moments that leave you sobbing like the racetrack when wilder walks away because blue can’t be with him because of the deal he made with his dad he will marry his best friend who is hiding too if he leaves his little brother Freddie alone
What I love the most is how much comfort they bring each other wilder dealing with his brothers death and not being able to tell anyone and Reed dealing with everything with his dad they finally are able to sleep when they are with each other
I love all the little presents Wilder buys for him the ring the lingerie the necklace and most importantly the book with letters from Juliet that one broke me because when he gave it too him wilder was heartbroken!
I do love some karma justice that reeds dad gets did I like Caden in this book for most of it no he wouldn’t tell wilder why he did what he did and it pissed me off but when the reason came out yeah that did me in LOL and I laughed SO loud when he just simply stated what he did to reeds dad LOL
Ugh I loved this story SO much but the 10 months later the press room the kiss ugh it was just the perfect ending for them! They got their hard earned hea!

Premier Racing International was supposed to be Wilder’s playground, the rookie season where he proved his famous last name wasn't the only thing carrying weight. The plan was simple: focus, drive, and win. Enter Prescott Reed Lamont IV, Wilder's one-night stand who has just been hired as his PR manager for the next 4 months. Reed is posh, preppy, deeply closeted, and everything Wilder usually hates. It should have been a temporary fling, a quick pit stop on the way to the top... but now, Wilder has only one goal in mind: making Reed his.

The friction and verbal sparring between Wilder and Reed is absolutely scorching! If you are a fan of enemies-to-lovers with a side of grumpy sunshine, this will have you completely hooked. Wilder is the perfect level of a domineering, possessive asshole MMC. He’s exactly the kind of character who makes me fall hard. Then we have Reed, who brings this beautiful, tragic angst to the story that will absolutely pull on your heartstrings and shatter you. The contrast between them is pure magic, and the spice and elite-level dirty talk starts off with a literal bang and never lets up!

PSA for everyone: Do not let this gorgeous sports cover fool you! Just because this is a racing book does not mean GN Wright has toned down her signature darkness (okay well it is definitely tonned down compared to Black Hallows or Hallowed Crows, but still dark). Gabs is a dark romance queen at heart, and she brought the heat, the suspense, and a literal side of murd3r and mayhem to this sports romance!

Outside of the romance, the found family aspect of this book completely captured my heart. The way Wilder’s race family just accepts Reed into their circle is so heartwarming. Found family gets me every single time!

I am so incredibly honoured to be on Gabby’s ARC team! She is my girl, and she completely outdid herself with this one! I literally ATE this book up. I dropped all my responsibilities and could not put it down until I hit the very last page. I have to apologize for blowing up Gabby's phone so much while reading, but honestly... I'm not even sorry, hahahaha! I also have to laugh at myself because I spent the entire first part of the book simping hard over the wrong character, but that's just the red flag ;) magnet in me talking.

This series is brand new, so you don't need to have read her other works to jump in, but it's an absolute must-read. If you have read her previous series, the cameos in this book will make you absolutely giddy. The book starts off with a literal mic-drop piece of news that connects the worlds, and seeing past characters make appearances had me screaming and squealing while reading!

I cannot say enough good things about it, and I am already feral for the next book! Drop what you are doing and go buy this right now!

Pit Stop was a very up and down reading experience for me. The racing world was well done and added a lot to the story, but I did feel the book was longer than it needed to be. Some parts could have been shortened without losing the main plot.

Reed and Wilder were the reason I kept reading. I loved how Reed’s struggles were written and how much of himself he hides because of his father and the pressure to protect his family.

I really enjoyed how Reed and Wilder's story started. Wilder not realizing the person he met was actually Reed because of his completely different appearance was such an interesting beginning. 🤭 It showed a side of Reed that he normally doesn’t let others see. What started as attraction slowly became something much more genuine, and I loved how Wilder encouraged Reed to be himself.

Wilder was probably my favorite part of their relationship. He wasn’t just the person the public saw him as. Behind that image was someone genuinely caring and thoughtful. The little moments between him and Reed throughout the story were so sweet, and the fact that he knew sign language was such a tender detail. 🥹 I also loved him calling Reed “Blue.” That was so sweet. 💙

Caden was such an interesting and mysterious side character that I still found myself thinking about his storyline after finishing. But at the same time, this is Reed and Wilder’s story, and I shouldn’t be thinking about a side character more than the main characters. 😅 I think that’s where some of my disappointment came from.

My biggest issue was with some of the darker plot points, especially the handling of the murders and the reasoning behind them. I found Caden fascinating, but I struggled with some of the explanations behind his actions. I wanted more depth and a stronger emotional connection to those choices because some resolutions felt a little too easy for me.

By the time I reached the ending, I was left feeling a little underwhelmed. I enjoyed the journey, especially Reed and Wilder’s relationship, but the ending didn’t give me the emotional impact I was hoping for.

Overall, Pit Stop had a lot of things I enjoyed: a strong romance, great chemistry, good spice, and an engaging racing setting 🏎️ Reed and Wilder were such a good pairing. Length, the pacing and some of the plot resolutions kept it from being a higher rating. But all the moments between Wilder and Reed were got my heart and they are so intense and sweet.

I’m very grateful for being considered as an ARC reader for this book. Pit Stop is the first book in The Fast Miles series by G.N. Wright. I adored the writing very much and this is my first book of this author and I will definitely start the other series.
I didn’t expect to relate with Reed that much. Basically in the way he hid who he really is so he wouldn’t be judged. The way he had to act like he was two different people pained me.🥲
Also, I really liked that even though Wilder is considered to be arrogant and just a famous racer, he was more than that. He could see right through the facade that Reed was putting up. Also him saying that he prefers Reed when he is his real self ahhh. (Him calling Reed, Blue😭🩵)
Both characters had much depth and they were very well written. I liked even the side characters a lot. This universe seems very beautiful and I loved that this book was basically the introduction. I liked that we saw both characters having struggles despite how they acted around others. We could see that when they were the two of them alone that this facade cracked🥹
Even Wilder had his own struggles🥺And I loved how Reed could realize that something was wrong. Even though they didn’t know each for a long time they still understood each other.
Even from the start of this book I could feel that it would get to me through some quotes of Reed’s mostly but even Wilder’s broke me. I loved that Wilder could see right through him and that he was bothered that Reed was hiding😭 The way he protected him oh my god and how concerned he was🥺

Prescott's tone is soft, as he replies, "I watch myself disappear every time I look in the mirror." His eyes widen when he realizes what he's just said, but it's too late to take it back now.

I felt this book was fast paced in some parts and in other parts I felt like it was a bit longer than it was necessary. Not that it made me dislike it but felt a bit unnecessary. For me this book was dark in some ways, darker than the cover for sure🤣🫶but I don’t mind dark romance. I love it🫶
Also, I should add that at the end of the book I broke for both Reed and Wilder🥺 Especially Wilder’s reaction when Reed was denying him🥹 I can’t blame my babies but damn it hurt😭✨
The scene at the end when Wilder shoved the gift at Reed😭😭😭ughhhh and the quote from the book that he knew Reed would like😭💔
All in all, this book was an emotional rollercoaster for sure❤️‍🩹🫂

I already knew I was going to go ape-shit over this book. The tropes snagged me in from the first look at the cover. Enemies to lovers with race cars, a brat, and on the dark side?!?! It’s like specifically engineered to peak my interest and keep it. The excitement and danger from the races and the roaring crowd is written in a way where you feel it, the anxiety and buzz from the atmosphere. You feel the rush!

Reed was cute as hell! Trying his best to live happily with what was given to him, accepting how he had to hide most of himself. “I watch myself disappear every time I look in the mirror”It’s a type a type of trauma that sinks in deep, lack of acceptance with actual brutality and violence, but he is still full of sunshine and kindness despite that. His determination, passion, want to learn new things and try his best even when he may not need to was so endearing. He’s a great MC that you adore right off the bat.

Wilder is the epitome of the saying “there’s a fine line between love and hate” and all the angst and venomous stollen stares are completely delicious! He truly believes how important it is to be yourself which is brave in its own right. Absolutely craved seeing how their relationship evolved and built this strong connection from miscommunication and misconceptions, fighting what they both felt. Definitely gave it a depth you fed off of. Btw, Wilder has a mouth on him! All the side characters were awesome and flushed out. You know who each one is.

It’s sweethearts coming together through different levels of pain and trauma, fusing together to heal the other and become what the other needs to not just survive, but to be happy, to feel safe, to live and to love. The epilogue was so fulfilling, sweet and tender to the nth degree.

Loved it! It was spicy too!!! Maybe 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5. Would recommend to any readers that love mm romances a little on the dark side with perfect HEA.

Wilder is the perfect cocky, confident racer—full of swagger, filthy banter, and completely unapologetic about who he is, even though he's carrying demons of his own. But beneath all that confidence is someone fiercely protective and incredibly caring. The way he looks after Reed, quietly takes care of him, and gives him the space to be himself completely melted my heart. The nicknames they had for each other were so sweet and had me smiling every time—they were such a simple but perfect way to show just how much they cared.

Reed has spent so long living under the weight of his family's expectations, hiding pieces of himself while trying to protect his younger brother from the same pain he's endured. Watching Wilder slowly become Reed's safe place was beautiful, and together they proved that opposites really do attract. Wilder's confidence and fearless attitude balanced perfectly with Reed's quieter, more reserved nature, making their relationship feel authentic, emotional, and impossible not to root for.

The chemistry between these two is absolutely electric from the very beginning. The tension is relentless, the flirting is top-tier, and when the spice hits... wow. It is insanely hot, full of filthy dirty talk, packed with NSFW moments, and somehow still manages to deepen their emotional connection. I swear I was blushing for at least 85% of this book. Gabby knows exactly how to write scenes that are equal parts emotional, intimate, and unforgettable but after reading Archer and Damon’s story are we at all surprised?

Reed and Wilder. These two feel so opposite in so many ways. Reed, this man broke my heart. The trauma and abuse he has quietly lived through is heartbreaking. Always expected to live up to a certain standard while hiding who he truly is. Never truly just loved for himself and always feeling like everyone wants something from him. Wilder. This man is so cocky, he seems so unemotional, just so freaking arrogant. But underneath is a man who also has to live up to a certain standard in the racing world. Where Reed’s life is lived in secret, Wilder’s is out under full scrutiny. The push and pull, the banter, the connection, all of it is pure fire. I loved watching them slowly turn to each other, loved how they would care for each other, how they would so vulnerably share with each other like they had no one else. Reed provides peace to WIlder and Wilder truly SEES Reed and that is beautiful! Their passion, well as only GN writes, is so burning HOT as fire!

I loved the side characters, loved watching them embrace Reed and show him in life you can have people who truly care about you just for you and they truly can be family! And I can't wait for more stories with them all!

This book will take you on every emotion! These two will break you and put you back together beautifully! So excited for this new series and can't wait to see who's next!

Oh. my. god. This was my second read of the author (I’ve only read “The Puck Chase” before) and I can tell I’m completely TAKEN by these characters! I can tell this series has a potential to be one of my favorites! Her writing got to another level here, holy! There is so much to digest and take apart from this story that I’m sure I’ll be thinking about it for a while, no doubts.

The journey we are taken with Wilder and Reed is such a lovely and bittersweet one. Those two broke and mended my heart the entire book. I loved Reed at first sight and this man made his personal goal of trying to make me cry all the time! Wilder had to fought a little to conquer my heart fully, but once he was there (and let’s be honest, it didn’t took much for him to do that), oh my, I just fell in love him! Those two go through so much but are also there building this connection and helping each other with theirs struggles. They have so much layers (and not only them, the side characters also have sooo much going on, but I’ll get there in a second!) and its all treated in such a raw but at the same time light-weighted way that has you gripping your seat and needing to consume every single word until they are at their so much deserved happy end.

The race background was so well done! I was super immersed in the sport and really felt right there with both of Reed’s and Wilder’s POVs.

The side characters, Caden, Casper, Bobby, Knox, Beck, Matteo, Eloise, oh my I’m invested in all theirs stories and I kinda need more of them, lol! I’m super excited to see where Wright will take these series, I already miss being in this universe.

Such a GOOD start of a series, holy! Enough to introduce us this new universe, but also building up and getting you hooked for whatever is coming next. Can’t wait to see those characters again, and OH. MY. I have sooooo many theories for the rest of the series! So hyped for that comes next!

This may be G.N. Wright's most comprehensive work to date and I am not just talking about the page count being not far off Puck Boys of FU! There is so much to digest here and I didn't want to put it down, just willing answers at every page turn but at the same time wishing it would go on forever.

​Wilder and Reed's banter was top tier, and their relationship (as I have come to love from Wright's storytelling) is so raw and real. They work hard for every aspect of their connection and the pay off is *chefs kiss*.

​Wright approaches trauma from a 'lights on' focus, not shying away from approaching the hard thoughts and feelings her characters are processing. The internal monologue from Reed's chapters particularly at times had my chest clenching and tears springing to my eyes.

​As is tradition in the Gabbyverse, the murder board is in full use, with plentiful Easter eggs and cameos from Black Hallows being woven in beautifully. This I personally feel is a real strength to Wright's writing craft, weaving these in such a way that it feels organic and exciting for both long time readers of her work, as well as giving easy access into her backlist for new readers to enter the Gabbyverse at any of her series.

​The storytelling truly is outstanding in this new series. On first impressions this book presents as a steamy fast paced workplace romance set on the backdrop of fame, wealth, privilege and high octane professional racing but there is so much more to this story under the surface. Pit Stop at its heart is a gritty exploration of imperfect relationships, the darkness that can lurk behind closed doors amongst family and ultimately of what it is to live and love messily, authentically and honestly.

I cannot wait to see where the Gabbyverse goes next, but for now, don't sleep on this author and raise a glass of champagne to the boys of the hour!
