Kinsley Woods is struggling to find her footing after the devastating loss of her mother. Living in New York City and working as a paralegal, she travels to Erie City, where she grew up, and agrees to help a friend by picking up a shift at a local bar. What she doesn’t expect is to meet professional baseball player Jace Lyons. Jace grew up in the shadow of his famous father, a Hall of Fame baseball player whose influence continues to loom over every aspect of his life. Now acting as Jace’s agent, his father has become one of the biggest sources of stress and conflict in his life. When Jace meets Kinsley, he is immediately captivated by her. Their connection is instant, and after spending one unforgettable night together, Kinsley slips away before either of them can explore what could have been. When Kinsley later discovers she is pregnant, she is shocked. After multiple failed attempts to contact Jace, she accepts that she will have to raise her daughter on her own. For the next two years, she builds a life centered around her daughter, Anna, never expecting to see Jace again. Two years later, Kinsley is unexpectedly thrust back into Jace’s life. Not only does she have to tell him that he has a daughter, but she must also navigate the complicated emotions that come with seeing the man she never truly forgot. Jace is determined to be involved in Anna’s life and quickly realizes he wants more than just a co-parenting relationship, he wants a future with both Kinsley and his daughter. The challenge is convincing Kinsley to lower the walls she has spent years building around her heart.
Jace is an incredibly relatable and compelling MMC. He was the golden boy who seemingly had everything, talent, fame, and a promising career. However, the pressures of professional sports and personal struggles led him down a destructive path involving addiction. After completing rehab and rebuilding his life, he finds himself back with the Erie City Hawks, fighting for a second chance both on and off the field. Learning that he has a daughter changes everything. Watching him embrace fatherhood while working to become a better man is one of the most rewarding aspects of the story. His journey is not just about redemption but about breaking the cycle created by his strained relationship with his father. Kinsley and Anna give him a reason to believe in the future and motivate him to become the father he never had. Kinsley is equally relatable as a FMC. The grief of losing her mother nearly consumes her, and there are moments when it feels like she is barely holding herself together. Her daughter becomes her anchor, giving her the strength to keep moving forward. As a fiercely independent woman, Kinsley is used to handling everything on her own. She doesn’t want to rely on anyone, especially after being disappointed in the past. Her emotional journey centers on learning that accepting help and love does not make her weak. Watching her slowly trust Jace and allow him into her life is both realistic and deeply satisfying.
In conclusion, I gave this book 5 stars because K.C. Brooks delivers a heartfelt romance that balances emotional depth with hope and healing. Between the family drama, grief, redemption arc, and second-chance romance, Triple Threat is a story about finding your way back to the people who matter most. It’s a reminder that family can be messy and complicated, but love, trust, and forgiveness can help heal even the deepest wounds. One of the highlights of this book is little Anna. She is sweet, lovable, and steals the hearts of all the baseball players on the team, including her dad. Her relationship with Jace develops beautifully, adding warmth, humor, and plenty of emotional moments to the story.
I will never get over how well KC Brooks writes her MMCs. These men are feral for their women and will burn the world down to see them happy. Every book KC writes introduces amazing MMCs and expands the lengths they are willing to go for the FMCs. Book 3 in her Erie City Hawks series, Triple Threat, expands this collection of amazing characters. This book is filled with yearning, redemption, and stepping up to the plate when it matters most. This story has so much heart and love coursing through it, it was impossible to put down.
Kinsley has obtained the unobtainable, for at least one night. Sharing a bed with a baseball player bad boy definitely made her feel on top of the world. She never expected her one night stand to turn into her becoming a mother. When she reaches out to the father, he ignores her (you find out why later in the book), and she is heartbroken and vows to be done. Being a single mom was never her plan, but Kinsley rises to the challenge with grit and determination. Now the father has returned to Erie and she can’t avoid him forever. They may have a kid together, but they will never be together.
Jace had to hit rock bottom before he finally realized he needed to clean up his act. Working hard, he did everything he could to become sober and get back in the good graces of the Erie Hawks baseball team. He’s been given a second chance with the team and he will not blow it. Although he’s never forgotten about the one night stand long ago, he never expects to run into her and her…his…daughter. Now he has to show Kinsley and his daughter they are the most important things to him and he will do right by them.
When I say KC writes her MMCs as feral, I am not exaggerating. This man crawls for his woman, just to prove to her how much he adores and worships her. As walls break down around Kinsley’s heart and Jace keeps showing up over and over, the chemistry between these two is undeniable! I will forever love anything KC writes and with every new book she writes, she just proves over and over again why she is one of my favorite authors!
As always, review any author notes before reading.
What to Expect: ⚾Baseball Romance 🍼Secret Pregnancy ⚾Second Chance Romance 🍼He Falls First and Harder ⚾ONS to More 🍼Broken MMC ⚾Guarded FMC 🍼Touch Her and 💀
When it comes to matters of the heart, Triple Threat delivers exactly what it promises and more. From the first pages, I was hooked by the emotional weight of the story grief, regret, and the kind of love that never really disappears, it just waits for the right moment to come back.
Jace is the kind of hero baseball fans think they know legacy, talent, a first-round draft pick, and now the disgraced star of the Erie City Hawks. But K.C. Brooks makes it clear he isn’t just a player with a comeback arc. He’s a man carrying consequences, and when he returns, it doesn’t just bring him back to the field, it shatters the quiet that Kinsley has built for herself over two long years.
And that’s where the real magic lives. Two years ago, an impulsive choice led to consequences neither of them could outrun. Kinsley spent the time after that in silence, convinced Jace never wanted to be part of their new lives, until he’s standing in front of her again, wanting in on everything and realizing he has a daughter he didn’t know about.
The tension is immediate. The emotions are raw. The chemistry? Dangerous. Every time Jace looks at her, it isn’t just love that flares it’s the past detonating in the present. And yet the story refuses to turn into something easy or one sided. This isn’t just romance; it’s accountability, healing, and learning how to love when you’ve already hurt someone once.
What I loved most is how Jace wants redemption not as a slogan, but as a choice, he’s determined to be a father, a partner, and someone Kinsley can trust. But he’s also not asking her to forget. He’s asking for a chance, and that distinction makes all the difference.
If you’re looking for a romance that balances yearning with emotional depth, plus a hero who fights for more than just his reputation, this is it. Triple Threat is a heartfelt game of love where the stakes are everything, and in the end, the title fits perfectly, Jace isn’t just playing for the Hawks anymore, he’s playing for the heart he broke, and trying to earn a new future.
Highly recommend. This one deserves every star. 💖⚾️
This line from her late mom: Better a harsh truth than a pretty lie.
This is why I love Jace: "Never thought I'd crawl for anyone, Kins. I'd do it every day for you. Need to taste you, worship you. Need to make you just as desperate as me." then "You came just from my pleasure? That the sexiest thing I've ever seen, hotshot."
What to expect from Triple Threat: ⚾️ Baseball Romance 💙 Secret Baby ⚾️ He Falls First & Harder 💙 Broken Boy & Guarded Girl ⚾️ Touch her and 💀 💙 Clean me up ⚾️ Comes in his pants 💙 He practices braiding on his teammate ⚾️ Just this one time.....
This book is about to imperfect people being the better version of themselves after dark times.
Jace hit rock bottom when he was going to be kicked out of the MLB. He went to rehab and was able to work himself back up to the Erie City Hawks after two hears. He was literally doing everything he could to make sure he was never that rookie Jace again
Kinsley was so gone to her grief thanking she could never get out of it until she gets those two pink lines. She is just trying to survive. She put her dreams of Law School on hold to take care of Anne.
I can say when Jace found out about 1yr old Anna he was all in (well, after he had a little run down the block). He was willing to do anything to have both Anna and Kinsley in his life. Kinsley was doing everything to push him away. She was extremely guarded. It was like as they were get closer it was 3 steps forward 2 steps back. I wanted to kick her in the shins at times but she redeemed herself. It just took her time to get there. I wish it would have shown here starting therapy or talking to someone.
BTW: We dislike Tate so much!!!!!
Please check your trigger warnings.
Thank you K.C Brooks and Luna Literary for the early copy. Above are my honest thoughts.
Triple Threat was fantastic! Kinsley is still trying to find her footing after losing her mom while raising her daughter on her own. Jace is fighting his way back after hitting rock bottom and nearly losing everything. Years after one unforgettable night together, they find each other again and realize neither of them ever really moved on.
This book felt like two people learning how to live again. Kinsley spent so much of the story carrying the weight of grief, motherhood, and survival that she barely left room for herself. She slowly let Jace in, let herself want things again, and stopped doing everything alone. There were definitely moments where I wanted to shake her because she kept pushing Jace away, but I also understood exactly why she did it. Jace had me from the very beginning. The second he finds out about Anna, his entire world shifts. There's something so sexy about the way a man is as a dad. The way he showed up for her over and over again, practiced braiding hair, rearranged his life around her, and basically worshipped the ground that little girl walked on absolutely melted me. Anna was so cute, too! Jace and Kinsley built their family around her and it was so special. It was all about creating a home and becoming safe places for each other after both of them had been through so much.
I also really liked how the book handled grief and recovery. Neither character was magically healed. They both had scars, baggage, and fears that didn't disappear overnight, which is so real.
This book made me laugh, made me emotional, and was basically a home run. Jace being absolutely obsessed with his girls was everything I wanted, and I loved watching this little family find their way to each other. I have loved all of K.C Brooks's books and this one was another great one!
Triple Threat completely stole my heart. What starts as a second-chance romance quickly becomes a story about healing, forgiveness, and finding your way back to the people who were always meant to be home.
Years after a life-changing night together, Kinsley and Jace are forced to confront everything that was left unsaid. Kinsley has spent years carrying the weight of loss, motherhood, and responsibility on her shoulders, while Jace is trying to rebuild his life after hitting his own lowest point. Their journey back to each other isn’t easy, but that’s exactly what made it feel so real.
One of my favorite parts of this book was watching Jace step into fatherhood. The moment he learns about his daughter, his priorities shift, and I absolutely melted watching him show up for her in every possible way. From the small everyday moments to the big emotional ones, his devotion was impossible not to love. Anna was an absolute scene-stealer and brought so much warmth and heart to the story.
I also appreciated that the characters weren’t magically fixed overnight. Both Jace and Kinsley are carrying scars from their pasts, and the author gives them the space to work through their grief, fears, and mistakes in a way that felt authentic. Their chemistry was undeniable, but it was the emotional growth, trust-building, and family dynamics that truly made this story shine.
With themes of second chances, hidden pregnancy, addiction recovery, found family, and redemption, this book delivered all the feels. It made me laugh, tugged at my heartstrings, and left me rooting for this little family every step of the way. If you love emotional sports romances with depth, heart, and a hero who would do absolutely anything for the people he loves, Triple Threat is one you won’t want to miss. 💕⚾️📚
I received this as an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
First, I want to express my appreciation for being able to read through this story before its release. I am an avid baseball fan so I thoroughly enjoy combining that love with my love of reading and romance.
TL:DR 💕 Dual POV 🖤 Bad Boy (who ends up reformed) 💞 Desire For Law School FMC 🥰 He Falls First 👶 Secret Baby 2️⃣ Second Chance ⚾️ Baseball Romance 🌶️ Mild spice, slow burn
This is the first story in this series that I've read. I'll definitely be going back for more!
Both MC's have had some trauma in their lives that has led them to their meeting. Their chance meeting brought them together in an emotional rollercoaster style vibe, ending with a surprise pregnancy and the MMC not answering his phone because of his struggles in life. This left the FMC a single mom raising a baby girl.
When Jace learns about his daughter, while he was overwhelmed for a hot second, he took on the role of dad, and specifically girl dad, with ease. He knew deep down he wanted to be a completely different dad than his father was. He was unwaveringly committed to them and is where he really showed growth and owning responsibility, taking on this new task with force.
This story was heartwarming in all the right places. I loved that there was no 3rd act breakup as well. I marked this as a 4 star because I'm not a fan of the miscommunication trope.
I'm looking forward to reading the other stories in the series.
Thank you Luna Literary and KC Brooks for the opportunity to read and review this ARC. I'm hooked to more baseball themed stories that I've added to my TBR now.
Triple Threat is the third book in the Erie City Hawks Baseball series by K.C. Brooks. Baseball, Nicknames, A Surprise Baby, One Night Stand, He Falls First & Harder, Cums In His Pants & Cleans Her Up is what you can expect in this book. It has no cheating, both stay celibate while apart, no third act break up and ends with a HEA.
I would like to Thank Luna Literary and K.C. Brooks for my ARC and in return I voluntarily promised an honest review.
Jace Lyons is a professional Baseball player with a reputation of being an Asshole when he meets Kinsley Woods bartending in her best friends bar and she insults him after his lame pick up line.
Jace apologizes and then proceeds to take her out for breakfast which leads to a one night stand. Shortly after he hits rock bottom when he is kicked out of the MLB and back to the Minors.
Kinsley is struggling raising her daughter as a single mom when her new friend invites her over for a girls night. And in walks the father of her day who she thought she would never see again.
Two years later Jace has been to rehab and has worked his way back into the Erie City Hawks but he never got over Kinsley and is surprised to find out he is a father to a one year old daughter.
He wants his family and will do anything to have them both in his life. Can he break down her walls and convince her that she's more worthy than anything in his life including the ball game?
⋆ dual pov ⋆ slow burn ⋆ he falls first ⋆ secret baby ⋆ second chance ⋆baseball romance _________
Ugh I am in love! Triple Threat is a second chance baseball romance where we follow our FMC Kinsley as she tries to navigate being a mother and our MMC Jace as he tries to get his head back into the game. We watch through their eyes as a one night stand changes both their lives. We watch as they reconnect after three years and realize their connection never died.
Oh I’m in love with these two!! Absolute perfect honestly. Watching both Kinsley and Jace together with Anna is sooo adorable I loved every second. I love Kinsleys character so much, she is such a strong and personal character so it was super easy to just connect with her. I loved watching Jaces character development! He wears his damn heart on his sleeve and has such a damn soft spot for his girls. These three together are just absolutely everything!
K.C. Brooks has done it again! And let me say it’s been so damn good to be back in Erie City and with this team. I always love the writing in K.C’s books and of course this one didn’t disappoint! It was so easy to connect to the characters and feel the story! I also loved seeing all our previous couples again, it’s honestly so special. I can’t wait to read the next book!!
Overall, this was such an amazing read! Thank you K.C Brooks and Luna Literary for the amazing ARC! I can’t wait to read the next book in this series! ⚾️🧸❤️
“Triple Threat” by K.C. Brooks is the third book in the beloved Erie City Hawks sports romance series. This book stands alone and takes you on a thrilling emotional ride, all set against the backdrop of a classic sports scene. The story really takes off with a surprising pregnancy, which adds a lot of emotional weight and makes the romance feel even more real. The main characters have to work through their past and try to rekindle a romance they once had, while also learning from their mistakes. What’s really driving the story is the hero’s unwavering commitment to proving he can win back the heroine’s love and heart. The hero is back in Erie City, ready to make things right both on the field and in his life, demonstrating real growth and responsibility. A key part of his journey is his immediate desire to be a devoted father. The story skillfully combines a powerful, undeniable physical connection (“the man who set my world on fire”) with the practical, careful steps needed to keep their daughter safe. The story hinges on emotional stakes and the intricate process of rebuilding shattered trust. The vibrant baseball atmosphere of the Erie City Hawks provides a dynamic and captivating backdrop that maintains a tight and engaging pace. I highly recommend K.C.Brookes’ latest book, “Triple Threat.” It’s a sports romance that you won’t want to miss.
This is book 3 in the series, and it can be read as standalone.
Kinsley and Jace share a one night stand after meeting at the club she was working at one night to help her friends out: she was warned to keep away from the playboy, but Jace’s charm and Kinsley’s need for connection, even if just for one night, draws them together. However, Jace spirals and Kinsley tries to make contact after she finds out she’s pregnant, to no avail. 2 years later, they cross paths again, and Jace has a lot of catching up to do.
I just love KC. Her books are honestly just so darn beautiful and this book was just that. Kinsley and Jace were two people who needed each other, more than they ever realised. Jace had his own demons, but once he found out he was a father, he delivered. He was just perfect towards his daughter and Kinsley.
I adored Kinsley; she was just a woman, who missed her mum and didn’t feel like she had any family of her own. When she became a mum, her view on life changed and I really felt mumma mode kick in. She was just beautiful.
I have really enjoyed this series and each character has such an emotional story, but Jace and Kinsley’s journey made me all giddy.
I just love K.C. Brooks' writing. She writes these characters that just pull you in and leaves you with so many emotions.
When met Jace in the last book in this series, I knew wanted more of him. He is going through some tough stuff and even though he plays baseball, the pressure starts to get to him.
Kinsley, oh this woman has had a rough time too so when there's this encounter to spend a night with a bad boy baseball star, she takes it. Even though there seems to be a connection, Kinsley is not in the best time of her life and not ready for a relationship. Losing her mom was hard and she has so much pressure on herself also.
The one night they spent together definitely changed Kinsley's life and now she's expecting. She tries reaching out to Jace but doesn't hear back and can't reach him. Jace hitting rock bottom takes time away from baseball to get help.
Few years later and he's back and trying to earn his spot. Kinsley is trying to get by. A chance encounter brings the two face to face again. What happens when they see each other? How will Jace react to being a dad and to seeing the woman he couldn't stop thinking about? Read this book to find out.
This is definitely a read I will not forget and has taken the top spot of my favorite book by this author.
Triple Threat by K.C Brooks Erie City Hawks book 3
Triple Threat is such a fantastic baseball romance. About 2 broken people trying to piece their life back together and in the end got something far more beautiful.
Jace the self appointed bad boy of the team. He definitely hides behind this persona though underneath it all he’s far more broken than he’ll ever let anyone know. He hits rock bottom after an amazing night and finally connecting with her only to have her walk out.
Kinsley is grieving her mother. Shes just in a dark place and feels like there’s now way out. About to take the first steps to build the life she’s always dreamed of….but her plans have come to a screeching halt after the best night she’s ever had. Now she’s reading child on her own.
After learning about his daughter Jace freaks out for a moment but after that moment he steps up and does the right thing for Kinsey and Anna 🥰 These 2 get vulnerable and emotional and they go through some massive obstacles but the way they fall for each other is just so perfect. I’m so in love with this series! What’s not to love about this found family 😍
Thank you to Luna Literary for the ARC 💕 ⚾️ Baseball romance 🩷 Found family 👌 Hidden pregnancy 🫶 Addiction recovery Quick easy read with some spice 🌶 There is some miscommunication but it is dealt with quickly. After a sexy one night stand with troubled baseball star Jace, Kinsley finds out she is pregnant. Neither of them forgot their one night together but when Kinsley reaches out to Jace only to be ignored she fears the worst and vows she is done with him. Unknown to Kinsley, Jace has a good reason for not responding and has no idea about this life changing event happening around him. A while later, at a mutual friends event the pair meet again and clearly the same sexual chemistry is still there. Jace then learns of his secret daughter and something inside him changes forever. I loved the found family aspects of the book 🫶 I have enjoyed this series so far, book 3 was probably my least favourite (still 4 stars and I would recommend...) only because of the pregnancy trope not being my favourite. That is very much a personal opinion though.
I honestly don't know how I haven't discovered KC Brooks's books until now. It's been a long time since I've read a book this good—one with such a captivating opening that pulls you into a whirlwind you can't escape until you've finished the entire story.
I devoured it in less than two days, and it was constantly on my mind the whole time. What matters most to me in a book is the backstory of the main characters—the experiences, relationships, and events that shaped them into the people they become. KC Brooks delivered this so beautifully that I'm still amazed.
Kinsley is such a well-developed character that there were moments when I wanted to step into the book, wrap her in a hug, and let her cry. The same goes for Jace. The two of them, alone in the world, complement each other perfectly.
This book has convinced me that I need to go back and read the first two books in the series, and I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of the ARC team.
A truly unforgettable read, and I can't wait to see what this author writes next. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“I haven’t been with anyone since that night. Didn’t even try. Because why would I want anyone else when I’d already found you?”
I really really enjoyed this. All the characters and their stories captured my heart. I really enjoyed the development and balance of their relationship and the parent part of it. The way they handled coming back together, it wasn’t a big big drama, the miscommunication was dealt with quickly which I actually appreciated. It wasn’t the main focus of the story. I enjoyed the side characters and this and want to get to know their stories. I loved the no third act break up. The way the drama happened in this was good, it was present and there and gave some spice and entertainment but didn’t go on for too long. I appreciated reading both Kins struggle and learning to live after loss and then Jace’s struggle with addiction and what life long recovery looks like. Add to your TBR out June 3rd !!
Jace and Kinsley’s story was so good! I love me a surprise child trope and this one was perfect. I especially loved how Jace was all in from the jump! After pining for Kinsley for 2+ years and then finding out they had a daughter, Jace took that all in stride and committed immediately. Kinsley had some walls up so they had to work through that but that’s what I loved about this story. There was very little drama between the two of them once they reconnected. Jace just kept showing up and Kinsley learned to let go and trust what her heart wanted. What little drama there was, they worked through it right then and there like two adults.
Jace supported Kinsley in every aspect and it’s really what she deserved. Kinsley also was there for Jace in all the ways he needed. They were just so great together. And Jace jumped right into being a dad and we love to see it! I loved this little family unit 🩵
Going into this, I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about Jace since I didn’t care for him in the first book, and he was slowly redeeming himself in the second, however him getting his own story was pure redemption. I love him, the way he stepped up and changed his ways was perfection. I also enjoyed Kinsley and was happy she was able to fit in the group of girls.
I’m not a fan of the miscommunication trope, so I was happy to see the miscommunication between Kinsley and Jace was cleared up quickly and wasn’t a major issue throughout. The drama wasn’t too much, just enough to keep it interesting. No third act break up, yes please!! Also the found family aspect was great especially since both of them had their own family issues.
Thank you Luna Literary and KC Brooks for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.
I just LOVED how K.C. Brooks wrote Jace's story. The perfect redemption arc (across the entire series - I highly recommend you read previous books for best experience), multifaceted character that's not just full of himself jerk. I loved the connection between Jace and Kinsley - how they made sense from the very beginning. And I loved the whole found family part of this series - the team, their loved ones as well as some characters from the previous series. I'm not 100% sold on the miscommunication and how they couldn't find each other in a small town with some common places and acquaintances, so I couldn't rate it higher. But I still really like the book as a whole!
And now I can't wait for Ollie and Parker's story!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Kinsley and Jace’s story 🩷 i absolutely ate this book up within a day.
Tropes: * Baseball Romance * Secret Baby * Addiction Recovery * Found Family * He falls first & harder
Starts off in the past to the night our FMC Kinsley is helping at her friends bar and trying to find her footing after losing her mum and meets our MMC Jace who is out with the team celebrating. They end up talking and end up having a unforgettable night together.
Jace is at rock bottom and has to fight to come back after nearly losing everything, at the same time Kinsley finds out she is pregnant and tries to contact Jace but is left on read/blocked, she puts her law school dreams on hold to raise her daughter Anne. There is a small miscommunication which gets quickly fixed.
When Jace comes back to Erie City Hawks he bumps into Kinsley again and to his surprise finds out he has a daughter also. He is willing to put in the work and do anything to proof to Anne and Kinsley that he wants them in his life. Kinsley is extremely guarded but you soon see those walls crumble down.
Thank you K.C. Brooks and Luna Literary for the ARC
I loved Jace, he was a reformed bad boy with a heart of gold. His dad was a douche and that was a big part in hs behavior...
Kinsley was sweet, strong and independent. I loved her, she was a great mom. I related to her, losing her mom and the grieving process was hard 😪
The angst and yearning here were so well done. I loved Jace and Kins together. He was so supportive and protective. He encouraged her to go to Law school and to not give up on her dreams.
The girls will always be my favorite pack!! They are awesome and the best ride or die. Everyone needs a group of friends like these..
I enjoyed this book from start to finish and I loved seeing Jace become a father 😍
I can wait for Ollie and Parker!!!! Their tropes are amazing!!! This series is just soo good. I dont want it to end 🥹🤌🏽
KC knocks it out of the park again with the 3rd book in the Erie City Hawks series.
You know what I love? Messy main characters who recognize their own flaws and work to better themselves. You know what I love even more? When the MMCs resolve conflict by actually talking to each other.
We get all of that with Kinsley and Jace. So many times I wished I could reach through the pages and give both Kinsley and Jace a giant hug.
One of the things I enjoy most in KC’s books is all the found family. Every single member of this friends group will always stand up for the others. They all had Kinsley and Jace’s backs and supported each of them exactly how they needed.
I cannot wait for Parker and Ollie’s story next.
Thank you to Luna Literary Management for the advanced reader copy.
I always hate writing reviews like this because I genuinely want every author to succeed, but unfortunately this book just wasn’t for me 🥺
I received this ARC, and while I usually love a secret baby trope and second-chance romance, this story sadly didn’t fully pull me in. I struggled to connect with the characters, and the emotional pacing felt quite overwhelming at times. The story moved from one dramatic moment to the next so quickly that I found it difficult to stay emotionally invested.
There were definitely elements of the story that had potential, and I can see what the author was aiming for, but overall I just couldn’t fully connect with it personally.
okay I saw these tropes and immediately said ‘YES PLEASE’ 👏🏼 I don’t like to jump into a series without starting at the beginning but I just knew I needed this one and I have zero regrets about that decision!! second chance x secret baby x broken boy = a book of Sydney’s dreams.
Kinsley and Jace had me screaming! From them meeting and the instant chemistry there to the dreadful instagram DM.. to the moment it all came out. This was full of audible gasps! I absolutely adored how Jace was all in once he found out (and after his little run down the block)! Kinsley is still grieving her mother and has a guarded heart, but I loved that Jace kept showing up and proving she was safe with him 👏🏼
This was my first book by KC and it definitely won’t be my last! I’m excited to go back and read the others, but also cannot wait for what’s next!! 🫶🏼
🤍 what to expect - Baseball Romance Secret Baby Second Chance He Falls First + Harder Broken Boy x Guarded Girl Slow Burn
The perfect redemption story!!! Please check the content warnings since there are difficult topics such as grief and addiction that weigh heavily on this couple.
Jace!!!! I just cannot at how steady he was for Kinsley and Anna. KC put him back on track perfectly in this book and I fell for him.
I think Damien and Bri still hold top spot for now, but Jace and Kinsley are a very very very close 1.5.
The found family really came together, I enjoyed seeing the other couples and team mates.
A bit of a slower burn after a ONS, but still steamy and I felt that pull between the characters. I appreciated Kinsley's determination, but also how real her feelings are (I have boxes in my basement that never move).
Two 5*’s in a row for the Hawks! I’m excited to see how Parker and Ollie come together 💜💜
A huge thank you to KC and Luna for sharing this couple in advance!
Triple Threat by K.C. Brooks delivered an engaging blend of romance, emotion, and sports-centered drama that kept me engaged from the very first chapter. As the third installment in the Erie City Hawks series, we get to follow the story of the FMC Kinsley, a single mom to a two year old, and the MMC Jace, baseball legend and first-round draft pick for the Erie City Hawks. From the start, I was really invested in the chemistry between the main characters as it was filled with moments of tension, humor, and vulnerability. Overall, Triple Threat is a captivating contemporary romance that offers passion, heart, and plenty of memorable moments between the MC's.
I received an ARC copy from Luna Literacy. Thank you so much for giving me a chance to read and voluntarily review this novel!
When we meet these two neither are ready for commitment. One night of passion ends up with a child. I think that both of these characters redemption arcs are important. Kins hasn't fully let Jace in much less mourned her mom. I don't think you ever get over losing a parent. It just gets easier to deal with.. the emotions, the hurt. Jace.. his arc is so pivotal in Triple Threat. I was always rooting for his happy ending as well as him being strong enough to know when he needed help and accept it.
These two still have a lot to learn but I can't wait for them to learn and lean on one another while raising their daughter.
I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing.

This is the third book in the Erie City Hawks Series which follows Jace and Kinsley, I loved it!! These two went through so much while they were apart but never really got over the other. It was heartwarming to see their relationship grow and develop. If you are looking for an emotional baseball romance with a secret baby and he falls first, check this one out!!
Thank you K.C. Brooks and Luna Literary for this ARC. My opinions are still my own.
This was the first book in the series and wow what a book! I really loved this book.
The miscommunication between Jace and Kinsley. But when they find each other again and get to figure out how to become a family. Kinsley who has her issues from her past has her reluctant to open up her heart. Jace has his own troubles but yearned for Kinsley since their night together.
I loved this book and all the feelings it conveyed. I absolutely recommend it!
I knew Jace's story was going to be good. I love a reformed playboy, second chance romance. Jace and Kinsley had so much chemistry. Their one night left a last impression on both of them. Unfortunately Jace didn't know just how much. Learning that she was pregnant and unable to reach Jace, she decided to raise their baby on her own and not get him involved. She didn't know he went to rehab and thought of her every day. Being able to finally reconnect, he did everything he could to prove to her how much he wanted her and their family.
