They can't spend their whole lives running from love...
Jo I can't get hurt again. I fell in love once a long time ago, and I almost didn't survive it. I'm not sure I can go through that again, but every time Colton walks into this bar, I feel myself giving into him a little bit more. I've worked so hard to make my life safe. To never do anything I might someday regret.
But when it comes to Colton, I'm not sure how much longer I can resist him.
Colton I'm the life of the party. The guy you come to when you want to have a good time, no strings attached. But what if I want more? Jo is the most beautiful, most complicated woman I've ever met in my life. She's also my boss. And no matter how hard I try to break through the walls she's built around herself, she keeps putting them right back up.
I'm determined to get to know the real Jo, and while I'm not giving up any time soon, I only hope I can be the man she needs me to be when the time comes.
Jo hides from everyone and everything, terrified of getting hurt again. Colton is an open book, scared of never finding the one connection that will be strong enough to last. When tragedy strikes and they are both left reeling in its wake, will they learn to lean on each other? Or will the fear of regret and pain push them apart forever?
I wanted so badly to finish this book in one sitting, and I'm still convinced the only reason I didn't was because sleep is a necessity. **I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review** A lot of my reviews of Sarra's books tend to come off as a little repetitive, but that's mostly because I honestly cannot say enough good things. This book was funny, charming, heartbreaking, and inspiring, and usually all at once. As with the rest of the books in this series, it works just fine as a stand alone, but I have made a point of making sure I have everything Sarra has written since I found her Peachville High novels. The series as a whole is amazing. She handles everything, including very touchy subject matter, with grace and respect, and I can only admire that. Basically, I cannot recommend this book highly enough. As usual, Sarra is spot on.
This book starts off slowly; I had to force myself to keep going. Finally it picks up speed and gets more interesting, but... The h's stupidity is so frustrating! I don't want to keep reading until the inevitable violent incident that she is so willfully sticking her head in the sand. ugh. I can't make myself continue.
Overall I thought this was good. I mean I am a sucker for every new adult contemporary ever. I just feel as though this one was quite insta lovey. Like they had went out and then were telling each other I love you. But other than that I did find this quite enjoyable
This book was amazing. I loved everything about it. It was loving, emotional, inspirational and romantic. I laughed and I cried. This series is most definitely number one on my list.
Sarra became in just a few weeks my all times fav romance writer, I am just so in love with this series. I am so sad that the next book is the last one, I truly hope she will write romance books more often.
This book, after being read so closely to Preston / Jenna's story really seemed too similar to it for me to award it more than 3*. That, plus some major, distracting formatting issues really took me out of the city of Fairhope and back to the real world.
Sarra has quickly become my favorite author. I love her style of writing and her characters are so realistic. The topics in the books in this series are relatable to everyday life.
OH. MY. GOD. This book had me all over the place - squealing, writhing, hyperventilating. Luckily by best friend is the same reading books so no judgement was passed.
I'm not sure when this book came out, but when I found it on Goodreads I immediately put it on my to read list, since I've been reading all of the books in the series and loved them. This is definitely a book to AMKE you cry, laugh and scream at the characters. Emotions were going up and down, doubts, and fears. but also love and romance and joy. This not only gets your waterworks going but there was happy times too. It wasn't just all doom and gloom.
The characters were amazingly developed, as they weren't that much in the previous books. And for some reason they seemed like different people in this book. maybe it is because it is their story they are telling and not seen through the eyes of other people, But they seem like a whole other person.
I loved Colton's personality - bright and fun, with insecurities that run deep. And Jo. snarky and beautiful with a past she can't let go of.
This book was amazing and honestly the only thing that really bothered me was the fact that Jo made it seem like Colton was destined to hurt her. I knows he has trust issues and thinks that no one is reliable and doesn't want to get her heart broken, but her trust issues were HUGE and I mean HUGE. it seems shallow that that's what annoyed me in this book but once you will read it you will understand. I don't know what Jo went through and I will never understand it, but I felt empathy for Colton because she always made it out like it was in HIS nature specifically to hurt her.
A Trip to Fairhope and again I was not disappointed with the story, I have loved every single story that is the Fairhope series, the great thing out this series is that each book can be read as a stand alone and you can still understand what it is happening because they don't follow.
This book gave me so many emotions it was unbelievable, like all of Sarra Cannon's books the characters where well developed and I felt so connected to each character I wanted to cry, laugh and be angry at time with the characters. I felt the pain and joy they were going through. This book approached a sensitive subject and I respect Sarra Cannon for approaching the subject with grace and respect.
I don't really read romance but I love this series and its helped me brach out to romance genre. I love all of Sarra books and I Highly recommend ALL of her books.
Cannon has done it again. She took my heart from my chest, twisted it and put it back with extra feels.
This book was so good and it hit so close to home. Having survived through a parent with a terminal illness I could so relate to Jo. I could feel the love she had for her day radiate from the pages into my heart. I could feel the turmoil and conflict she felt opening up to a new love.
Cannon really has a way with words and her characters are so vibrant and real.
I can't believe there is only one book left in the series. The whole Fairhope series so amazing.
"It can be a really lonely life when you refuse to let other people in."
"Man, I love getting under that girl's skin. I wonder if she has any idea just how much she's getting under mine."
"Life isn't about knowing where every single step is going to take you before you make it."
"A relationship never begins with the knowledge of how it will end. Or if it will end."
"I'm not sure I can handle the way it would feel to lose you." "So you'd rather lose me now?" "It's easier to lose someone before you truly love them."
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
Going back into the world of Fairhope once again did not disappoint. This book was heartbreaking, funny, romantic all at the same time. It was nice getting to see a few other characters from previous books as well but that does not mean you would need to have read them to know their connection to Jo. This book is perfect as a standalone as well. I can not recommend this author and series enough. Wonderful job Sarra! :)
Love this series! Love Jo's character and wanted a book about her ever since she was introduced in the first book!! Love her and Colton together, they are a great small town couple. Love how the things they both are insecure about each other compliment the other.
Quick easy read! Can't wait for the final book to wrap everything up :)
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review! Awesome book, wouldn't expect anything less from Sarra. A great love story that I think a lot of people can relate to in some way or another. Even though I haven't read the other books in the series for ages, after just a few chapters all the characters sprang back to life in my mind thanks to some great writing.
This is yet another fab read in the series of books, but also can be a stand alone story. It takes childhood grooming the past briefly to serious life changing illness that will end in tragedy but the main basis of the story is to believe in yourself and don't let yourself give up.
Great read for young adults, a love story for those who have had issues and over came. I love the Fairhope Series. It's real life fiction. I received an ARC for an honest review.
Sarra Cannon definitely did not disappoint with this book. It lives up to the same standards as all the other books in this series. It's an easy read, that is interesting from the first chapter. The further you get into the book, the harder it gets to put down.
