amazing story
Great storyline and well written. Very emotional and gripping, I couldn't putt the book down once I got about 1/3 thru it. Loved it.

This book had a depth of story that this genre often lacks. The pyramid banking scheme, the time spent getting to know one another, maturity of the MCs. All a pleasant change. The writing was sometimes overblown—‘twas and whilst and some meandering descriptions of commonplace things; additionally, there are times when sparkling and easy dialogue is said to have happened versus actually happening. The author wants to tell the reader her characters are witty without actually writing them that way (hard to do). MCs could have shown a bit more chemistry with one another….which didn’t emerge until VERY late in the book, and certainly not outside their own thoughts.
A five star idea was really given three star writing. Four stars.

Another sweet romance
I love Nichols and have read all of her romances. This is definitely another great one! The romance is not as romantic (for want of a better word) as you often find, because the relationship is friends-to-lovers, but the connection is genuine and founded on mutual respect. The dilemmas and trials are grounded and realistic. The characters are fully formed and interesting. There's so much to love about this book. I highly recommend reading it!

My Favorite
I have read all her novels and this one is my favorite for the character development and the arc of the story. Sooo refreshing in a romance to have a number of serious mysteries present themselves
instead of endless droning on about gowns. The evolution of Nora's feelings toward her father and family was compelling.

A book of substance
Finally I have read a book of substance not some fluffy little thing with really no plot to carry the characters. I finally read a story I wanted to come back to. Not a story felt obligated to finish because I bought the book. Read it yourself. You will be entertained

5 stars again
I have enjoyed every one of Ms Nichol’s books. This one is no exception. It was great to see the Hatchers again. The heroine and hero were both a lovely blend of strength and self doubting.

This was an amazing book. One of my favorites of M.A. Nichols'. I love Jonathan and Nora, and all the drama going on in her life. So compelling and heart-breaking all at once.

Excellent!
M.A. Nichols has outdone herself. So very well written and a very enjoyable read, with a lot of depth to both the plot and the characters. Would highly recommend.
