The Duke's Marriage Bargain I enjoyed this steamy story. Arabella's friend, Lady Violet, was being forced to marry Duke Benedict. Her parents arranged a meeting so Violet and Benedict could meet. However, Violet begged Arabella to take her place and pretend she was uncouth and obnoxious, to dissuade Benedict from the marriage. When Benedict met Arabella, he was surprised by her bad manners but he was interested in seeing her again. Arabella and Violet were horrified. Arabella realised she could not continue to pretend she was Violet and confessed to Benedict. He decided that he should marry Arabella. However. Arabella's father was heavily in debt and his debts were spiralling out of control. This caused problems for Arabella and Benedict. Their relationship faltered. Will they be able to recover and find a way to solve the problems that arise between them? I liked the way the Dowager Duchess guided Arabella. She was harsh at first but softened as Arabella learned her new role as a Duchess. I enjoyed the story.
