I really wanted to love this book. Based on the blurb alone …a rapper romance with a stepdad storyline? Yeah, I was immediately locked in. Unfortunately, the execution didn’t fully work for me, even though there were definitely parts I enjoyed. One thing about Hezee? That man was solid from the very beginning. He knew exactly what he wanted, and he never wavered, hesitated, or played games about it. I loved that. And the stepdad vibes? Absolutely on point. The way he treated little Marcel like he was his own genuinely warmed my heart. Marcel deserved that kind of love and consistency. I also appreciated how loyal Dre was to Hezee throughout the story. Their friendship was strong. My biggest issue was the writing itself. It felt very choppy and repetitive, which made it hard for the story to build momentum. Certain conversations and scenes felt like they were happening on a loop instead of progressing naturally. I liked Marlow overall, but there were moments where she became frustrating because the constant need for reassurance was dragged out for too long. Her feelings were understandable, but I think the author’s execution made those moments feel repetitive instead of emotionally impactful.
The secondary plot involving the ex also felt underdeveloped. If there was supposedly an NDA involved, why weren’t lawyers stepping in? Why didn’t she speak out or take any real action? A lot of that conflict felt more like complaining without resolution, and it didn’t make much sense to me. Overall, I think this story had good bones and a lot of potential, but the writing and execution held it back. Still, there were enough things I liked that I’m willing to give this author another chance and try a different book

My first... New author alert.

The author is new to me. Her writing is pretty good. Some points were repeated a lot. The tattoos are a good example of that. Bricks character was just pitiful. I liked Marlowe a little bit. Hezee was okay too. The overall story was a 3.5 start read. I'll check out another one of her books to see what's good...

Passion & Patience

Marlowe was a woman who had gone through a lot, most of it self-inflicted but a lot nonetheless, with her ex and decided that she was done with love and men. I've seen reviews saying she was annoying, but I felt like her need for reassurance was pretty realistic, especially given the similarities between Hazee and her ex. I wouldn't call her annoying, but I would say she wasn't the smartest. Her ex decided he wasn't going to be around and wanted her to sign an NDA. Okay, cool, but why not also make him sign away paternal rights? Especially if you're not going to have a lawyer involved. She didn't do anything to protect herself and was shocked when he came back around. Hazee was a guy who had the world at his fingertips but was still lonely. He took one look at Marlowe and knew she was the one, and the patience he showed her was such a sweet thing. The love he immediately gave to both her and her son – his intentions were so clear. He came to love and cherish them both, and he did.

The writing isn’t bad but unfortunately my brain just could not get with the drama of this story. We meet the FMCand she’s in a miserable set up with an abuser loser. Says she wants a clean break but keeps the baby by said loser 🥴🥴. As expected life moves forward and she meets someone. Lovely couple cute romance but she’s being terrorized by the same loser. It was just really hard for me to stick with the story because WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU KEEP A BABY and sign an NDA for??? Again the author isn’t a bad writer at all and it def had cute moments but overall it was super predictable and irritating because lmao all of this could’ve been avoided COMPLETELY. She was also easily swayed by social media, the common sense in certain situations was lacking as well. One example was the paparazzi was posted up outside her family home MIND YOU SHE TRYNA KEEP THE BABY OFF THE BLOGS… why her, the MMC and the baby just walk outside to get in the car???? Likeeee girl you really hiding that baby now 🙄🙄🙄

Just Call Him Daddy 😛

This was my first book from Ms Sherelle but definitely not my last.
Lowe and Hezee’s story gave everything and left nothing.
Donor was a straight up loser and had an abundance of audacity. Hezee didn’t stutter and definitely didn’t play about his family and proved it.
I loved how Hezee never denied his past but stood on business with being with his woman. I loved that he was faithful to Lowe and proved his trustworthiness.

Hezekiah “Hezee” Johnson is officially on my book boyfriend list. Made For You had me hooked from the very beginning. This story gave me a beautiful blend of romance, healing, protection, and a hero MMC who knew exactly what he wanted.

Marlowe has spent years doing everything she can to protect her son and keep them both safe from a painful past. After everything she’s endured, her walls are to the sky high. Enter Hezekiah “Hezee” Johnson, a rising rap star who could have easily been all flash and ego, but instead proves to be patient, intentional, and unwavering in his pursuit of Marlowe.

What I loved most about this book was Hezee. The way he showed up for Marlowe, respected her boundaries, and gradually earned her trust had me swooning. And the relationship he builds with her son, Marcel was so beautiful. Watching him step into their lives and love them both so effortlessly was heartwarming.

The tension and the drama from Marlowe’s past kept me turning the pages. Literally had to force myself to stop reading. Even with the drama, the romance shows how the right person won’t make you choose between love and peace but instead, they’ll help you protect both.

A. Sherelle delivered a heartfelt story about finding love after trauma, learning to trust again, and discovering that sometimes the love you’ve been searching for is the one that was made specifically for you. 10/10 recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a new to me author I found via IG. As a fan of celebrity romances, glow up, social media flirting/ banter- this book had all the right ingredients. A bit of mess and drama, but not too much where that’s all we focus on. I was hooked and really enjoying the story, until somewhere around the 40-50% mark. That’s when things became very repetitive.

I was sick of the FMC asking for reassurances every 5 secs, and the constant statements about her crying over everything. It felt like I was reading the same thing over and over followed by small time hops. Then another similar chapter to the one previous.

And I definitely wasn’t a fan of the Brick storylines conclusion happening so late in the story. Considering how the FMC reacted, it needed more time. So for me the ending felt rushed.

Despite those things I did enjoy how intentional Hezee was with her. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Beautiful!

"This was their happily ever after, and it was absolutely, perfectly theirs. Because when a person is made for you, nothing and no one could stop it."

Hezee locked eyes with Marlowe...no, he saw Marlowe moving and just knew she was it. That man was the epitome of INTENTION! Brick, pure trash. He tore Marlowe down to the point to where she was constantly second guessing the blessing placed in her path. Her mind couldn't turn off the "what-ifs" or the noise surrounding any celebrity. Hezee was different in the best ways and constantly proved that even through Lowe's doubts. This was an example of what "made for you" truly means. I could definitely read more of this beautiful relationship. Happy Reading Y'all!💋

"She went through hell and came out the other side with a man who would literally do anything for her. That’s the kind of partner everyone deserves." #facts

The FMC kept PMO

I have never in my life met someone that was so unsure about everything. Marlowe needed a couch and a hug because baby girl whole mental health was aggravating af. The sefl sabotage the allowing trauma to dictate her life is definitely a case study for domestic violence victims and survivors. I wish the Author would've got into her getting that type of help. That wasnt the part that PMO though what PMO is her letting ppl determine her life. That social media "what ppl gonna think" mess was on alll my nerves. Nonetheless Hezee was too patient too unwavering he deserved to be a BookBae based on that alone. Everytime she allowed ppl in her mind, everytime she tried to let trauma win he talked her through then talked her through it 💦😜 and on occasion put her through the mattress.

Hezze & Lowe 😍

Spoiler!!

I really enjoyed the book! Hezze was patient with Lowe and stayed true to his word. Lowe worked through her fear, and allowed herself to be loved. There was some repetitiveness in the conversations between Lowe and Hezze that could have been strengthened.

At the end, people online mentioned that Lowe had escaped an abusive relationship, but I don’t recall her ever publicly sharing her story, even though it was mentioned multiple times that one day she would have the opportunity to do so.

This is quite fast paced. Not a bit of me.
She said she didn’t wanna give him her number yet because she wasn’t ready. She gave him her IG, but he still found her number and texted her (didn’t like that)

She said she didn’t want anything serious, but after one conversation during dinner, she kisses him, girl you’re not that serious about your boundaries clearly

But he was great with Marcel so I’ll give props there

made for you

Hezee would do anything necessary for Marlowe, and the necessary occurred. This was a good book. At one point, I found myself getting frustrated with Marlowe because she was always doubting and second-guessing Hezee. But then I remembered all she had gone through. Trauma will make you doubt a loving reality because of a hard life.

In the end, she chose Hezee, and everything went well.

Had potential

Nothing sucks more in a book than an annoying FMC and Marlowe was just that. Hella annoying. Like dang girl you dragging it this man trying to love you and you nervous 80% of the book. Idk 🤷🏽‍♀️ she needed way to much reassurance it was so repetitive and annoying

Enjoyed the read

Some familiar tropes, some interesting nuances. FMC was annoyingly believably relatable. Decent spice spread throughout and not the whole plot. Will read more from this author.

Made for you

This was another beautiful love story by this author. Hezee was determined to make Marlowe his and show her that he was not like the men in her past. Brick was just crazy. I'm glad that Hezee and Marlowe got their happy ending.

Finished but didn’t love

This book was ok. It was super repetitive and the FMC was just insecure on every page. The constant what if’s and need for reassurance was just irritating.

This book wasn’t terrible, but it was soooo repetitive. It was frustrating me but I had to finish it at the same time because I wanted to see what happened to Brick.

The concept was good but I feel like it wasn’t executed as best as it could’ve. It felt too rushed and messy at parts. Loved the idea tho and the characters
