The people of Kensho face new perils from a heavily armed armada from Earth and to save themselves and their planet, must abandon the Way and become wanderers in the void
From Wikipedia: Dennis Arthur Schmidt was an American science fiction and fantasy author publishing from 1978 to 1990. Common threads in his books are religion, discipline and mystical enemies.
A solid conclusion to the Way-Farer series. As the Earth fleet returns for a final assault, the people of Kenso scramble to prepare, but what can they really do? Once again filled with zen-like prose, touches of hard sci-fi, wanderers, Mushin and the Ronin. A few small time jumps and a somewhat rapid conclusion, but overall I loved this series.
If you enjoyed the previous chronicles of this saga, then this book is particularly satisfying in the fact that it wraps it all up so nicely.
I wouldn't recommend this as a standalone book, but for those unfamiliar... it is a sci-fi story on a world where Zen and the art of the sword are absolutely necessary for survival on an alien world.
