I’m going to buy anything with Robbie Robertson in it. That’s just the way things are.
I had no idea Carny was even sold in paperback format. I’m biased anyway, so I’m giving it 5 stars. I do wish the film had some of the things from the book. Other than that, no complaints.
This book is a good example of why I like to see the movie before I read the book. I thought the movie was really lame until I read the book, and now, after all the gaping plot holes have been filled in by the book, I think the movie was pretty good, after all.
The "Pig Latin" got on my nerves after a while but it was fun reading about how the games were rigged, I always knew they were, just wasn't sure how they did it ... until now. ;)
You can watch the movie on youtube via the link below.
Filmed in 1980 starring Jodie Foster, Robbie Robertson & Gary Busey.
