Sometimes trust is the toughest lesson to learn.

Sophie Shaw is days away from signing a contract that will fulfill her dream of owning a vineyard. For her, it's a chance to restart her life and put past tragedies to rest. But Duncan Jamieson's counter offer blows hers out to sea.

Duncan still finds Sophie as appealing as he had during boyhood vacations to the lake. Older and wiser now, he has his own reasons for wanting the land. His offer, however, hinges on a zoning change approval.

Bribery rumors threaten the deal and make Sophie wary of Duncan, yet she cannot deny his appeal. When her journalistic research uncovers a Jamieson family secret, trust becomes the hardest lesson for them both.

A small town, a big lake, old secrets and ever-raw losses--Share the Moon, first in the Blue Moon Lake Series by Sharon Struth, grabs all of those in a top hat, stirs it up a bit, and manages to pull out magic. There is not a detail of setting or character left for us to guess at. Struth gives her readers exactly what is in her head to create a fully-realized town and the people in it. We know every facial tick, every thought--what we don't know is the mystery hiding just behind each face, in each head. Struth gives her readers just enough to pull us along, to make sure we keep turning the pages--and just when you think the mystery is solved, it takes another turn.
I found myself stealing reading time just to get one more chapter in. The characters, real people and not some over-idealized props, make believable mistakes, assumptions and decisions. On that note, I felt a little misled by the cover. While it has its obvious perks, from it I got the impression the characters were younger; one of the best things about this book is that the characters were not the usual twenty-to-thirty-somethings that seem to dominate the romance genre. Sophie and Duncan, both in their forties, sizzle, and not just when they are together. The romance is beautiful, just enough heat without getting into the nitty gritty.
I would say it's a great summer romance read, but it's not just for summer. Whether cozied up by a fire, reading in time with the book, or on the beach, imagining colder weather, it's just the right time.

I received an Advanced Released Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Let me say that Sharon Struth has once again written an exceptional piece of fiction. Share the Moon is the first book in the Blue Moon Lake series and it is about family, forgiveness and love.

In the small New England town of Northbridge, Sophie Shaw is hoping to purchase land that holds a special place in her heart. Just days away from signing the contract, Duncan Jamieson, president of RGI a development company, comes in and outbids her threatening to take away her dreams and something she holds so sacred to this land.
Unaware of Sophie’s offer, Duncan has his reasons for wanting to own the land but has also come to Northbridge looking for a place to settle down and call home.
Sophie is a journalist for the town newspaper and is assigned to report on the proceedings surrounding the RGI development deal. She and Duncan’s path seem to continually cross both professionally and personally and she begins to see a different side to him than what she expected. She no longer sees him as the ruthless business man but learns that he has a more sensitive very appealing, sexy side. However, when someone leaves Sophie notes insinuating that Duncan and his family are hiding things, she has to decide how to proceed. Does she put her trust in Duncan or use whatever tactics necessary to get his bid thrown out?

Share the Moon is beautifully written and the characters are so well developed that you can’t help but be drawn in. You immediately connect with them and can feel their emotions as they both struggle with self growth, acceptance, letting go and moving on. Sharon’s descriptive writing style pulls you in and makes you feel like you are a part of the quaint little town of Northbridge. Make sure to get your copy and come along on the journey.

I love it when a book takes me by surprise and this one did just that... gosh... I loved it! A wonderfully written romance that revolves around mature characters in a small town setting. This one definitely tugged on the heartstrings, especially Sophie's story.
Sophie experiences every mother's worst nightmare, the death of a child. I definitely felt her loss and her pain... the emotions of this character were very real. Her inability to cope with the loss took it's toll on her marriage and now she finds herself divorced and trying to move forward with her life.
Duncan is a successful businessman who lost his wife suddenly due to an illness. He's left with the guilt of not having been the best husband and realizing he hasn't had his priorities in the right place. He decides to move from New York to Blue moon lake, a place that he had fond memories of visiting as a child and where he had his very first childhood crush!
Yes, you guessed it... Sophie was his crush... it was like being a teenager all over again. You're never too old! Nope... there is always time for second chances.
Sophie and Duncan don't get off on the right foot though, seems they both have a very personal interest in purchasing the same piece of land. Sophie wants a vineyard, Duncan wants to build a resort... the town is divided and they are both caught in the middle!
As the battle for this land commences, Sophie and Duncan must learn to trust, take some chances and make some sacrifices. Especially if they want a second chance at love.
Just a great, great story... and, one I highly recommend to fans of small town romance that is light on the steam.

If you've read any of my reviews, then you know I ask you to read the blurb. I dislike repeating the excellent storyline that authors write to entice us to read their books.

The author, Sharon Struth grabbed me---hook, line, and sinker from the beginning. I loved Ms. Struth's sweet romance, mixed with a hint of mystery. Romance is not dead after the age of forty, and Ms. Struth relays that message loud and clear.
Sophie, the main character is appealing right off the bat. And what can I say about Duncan, except he floats my boat.
Share the Moon has family tragedy, conundrums, misunderstandings, and bouts of mistrust.
As a reporter, Sophie inspires to unearth the truth about Duncan Jamieson, even though the truth can hurt. She didn't expect to fall head over heels for the man who's practically stealing the property she's coveted for many years.
I refuse to say more, since I'm afraid of giving away spoilers. If you're searching for a good romantic book that'll leave you with a sweet taste in your mouth, then look no further, read Share the Moon.

I thoroughly enjoyed Share the Moon by Sharon Struth - and I'm a die hard paranormal/horror girl!

I'm not big on retelling the story or plot in my reviews. Others do and the blurb gives you a good idea what the book is about.

Here's what kept me invested in the characters and turning the pages until I finished. It's the first in the Blue Moon Lake series, set in a small Connecticut town on a lake, amid a vineyard that the heroine, Sophie Shaw, would like to bring back to life. Until Duncan Jamison outbids her for the land. What ensues is a well written, thoughtful and real story about life after tragedy, single parenthood with teenagers, trust, romance, and a mysterious secret from the past.

Ms. Struth's characters are well formed, the romantic element and tension isn't rushed, but is present on the page, even throughout their struggle of both wanting the same land for very different but important reasons. Is there a solution? Does someone win and someone lose? You'll have to pick up a copy to find out.

I'm excited about this new series and I hope Sophie and Duncan make an appearance in future story lines.

This is a first for me from this author and I was pleasantly surprised. Sophie and Duncan are thankfully not the typical 20-something leads we are becoming used to, they are both in their 40's with teenage children. This book takes place in a New England town where Sophie has loved her whole life, she tries to purchase some land she has wanted for so long, only to be outbid by a development company. Enter Duncan, president of said company. Despite all the things that come up as the future of the land come to fruition we see Sophie and Duncan grow closer, but all their trust will be tested in the process. The characters were refreshing and written wonderfully where you find yourself sucked in and the mystery surrounding everyone's choices.

Share the Moon by Sharon Struth is a 2014 Kensington/ Lyrical Press Publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The fight over land rights is as old as time it seems. Sophie is on the verge of opening a vineyard on land that had been associated with her family for centuries, when a zoning matter and a new bid on the land puts a freeze on her plans. As a reporter she is assigned to cover the hot topic issue, which is kind of hard to do with in an unbiased way under the circumstances.
An embarrassing fall on ice introduces Sophie to Duncan, a man whose bid on her land is causing her all this pain. There could have been just a little spark between them when he helped up after her spill, but when she discovers who he really is, the sparks fly another direction.

Sophie is in her forties, two children, divorced and doing the very best she can to move on with her life after a horrific tragedy. Sophie's loss trumps all, but so many, even those who should have felt the loss as deeply as Sophie seemed cold and unfeeling about her loss, expecting her to just forget it, to move on like it never happened and to stop living in the past. Easier said than done for some people. When Sophie was outbid, her only hope is the zoning committee veto. But, there are ugly allegations that Duncan's firm was involved in bribery in order to way the vote. There are also some other disturbing rumors concerning Duncan and his family. Sophie is determined to get to the truth about Duncan's family and an odd incident that happened the last time his family vacationed in her small town.

Duncan is a man that has learned life lessons the hard way. Years of listening to his wife plead for him to spend more time with his family ended with her death. Now, he wants out of the rat race and decides to move to the charming New England town his family used to vacation in when he was growing up. In the works is the project his brother Trent is working on to turn old farmland into a resort. Little does he know that he has crushed the dreams of the girl he has his first crush on all those years ago. He doesn't know about her life, her tragedies, her pain, her hopes and dreams. He sees things one way , from a business perspective. If he learned from his wife's death that he should slow down and smell the roses, he still learned from Sophie that all decisions can't be handled like a business deal.

When Sophie and her friends are handed some interesting information regarding Duncan's family and a rather puzzling incident many years ago, they resolve to get to the bottom of the mystery. As a result shocking family secrets, long buried come to the surface and will change Duncan's life for good.

Everyone involved here, from Sophie's children to Duncan's family all have to work together to do the right thing. Thankfully, the truth is discovered and now a road to recovery will begin for some, while a new beginning will be presented for others, namely Duncan and Sophie who are just awesome together. I loved the characters in this one because I am not a spring chicken , so I can relate to more mature themes and the feelings a woman of Sophie's age might have. I admired her humanity , her spunk, her willingness to learn from her past and the courage to take a chance on a future with Duncan. I also liked Duncan a great deal. He is just perfect for Sophie on so many levels. He too learned from the past, and while there were things his family did that he could not control, he didn't lose sight of what was important to him and his family and Sophie's family. The real life issues of dealing with teens and college age children, contrary parents, ex-husbands, small town gossip, and coming to terms with unbearable loss made the story feel authentic. The secondary characters were interesting and complimented the story. What is interesting is that this is the first book in a series. So, I am really curious as to how the series will develop from here. This is a really great start though. I was impressed.
I recommend this book to those who enjoy contemporary fiction, a little mystery, or women's fiction. This one is 4.5 rounded to 5

I haven’t read many books, where the protagonists were over 40. I usually stick to New Adult and Young Adult books, but Share the Moon was a welcome change. The characters were mature and there was no unnecessary drama in the book. There wasn’t much untoward bitching in the book and it was quite an enjoyable read.

Sophie Shaw is on the verge of fulfilling her dream of owing a vineyard, but Duncan Jamieson’s offer blows it out of the water. Sophie is a mother who is mourning the loss of her son Henry. It’s been around six years since his death, but everything Sophie does is still affected by it. Even her wish to own the vineyard was a way to feel closer to her son. Sophie is a feisty character. She has the spunk and the elan, but she is also broken from the inside. Sophie is a complex character, but at the same time a simple one. It’s not everyday you meet a character like that. She had her flaws, but she was willing to work on them too.

Duncan Jamieson is a man with many regrets. Starting from not being a good husband to not being a good father, all he is trying to do is rectify his mistakes. By shifting to the New England town, Duncan wants to give as much time as he can to his children. He is working hard at making up for his past mistakes. When he meets his teenage crush Sophie, all he wants is another chance. He is no longer the awkward teenager who didn’t know how to speak to women. He is an über-confident, smart and sexy businessman who knows what he wants and how to get it. Despite being the contender for the land Sophie wants, he manages to befriend her and warm his way into her heart.

The small-town secrets were well kept and never once could I predict them. A couple of characters I did not like were Duncan’s parents, who were manipulative and not supportive at all. Another character I did not like was Sophie’s ex-husband. He was mean in my opinion and gave up on Sophie too easily. With a little effort and some patience, he might have been able to save their marriage. The more enjoyable characters were Sophie’s dad, who was a mentor and friend to her, and her son Matt. He is the reason Sophie is finally able to see that she is drowning in her grief over Henry’s death and that’s affecting her two kids too. Another enjoyable character was Patrick, Duncan’s son. He was willing to forgive his father for his mistakes and give him a second chance. He and Matt are also the reasons Sophie and Duncan end up together in the end.

I loved the way Duncan handled Sophie when he found out about her son Henry. Also it was really sweet and considerate of him to give up the land keeping in mind emotional value Sophie has for it. I loved their relationship. Sure they had had their ups and downs, but at the end of the day they understood each other and loved each other. Their silly banter and fights were fun to read too as well as the culmination of their relationship which was beautifully done. This was my first book by the author, but it won’t be my last.

I can see why romances featuring middle aged men and women are so popular. I'm sure most of us like to read what we can relate to. Ms. Struth demonstrates that Sophie can still long for and find a heated romance after a life of divorce, children, and heartbreak. I enjoyed that Duncan and Sophie had some kind of history. Their reaction to each other when they first met in the book was endearing and I started rooting for them to get together immediately.

Ms. Struth evoked a plethora of deep emotions. My heart broke for both the hero and heroine, I had more than a little bit of curiosity about the mystery that needed to be solved, and I even got angry towards a few people in the story.

All in all it was a great read that kept me hanging on to see both what would happen between the Duncan and Sophie and to solve the mystery.

I'd love to see a story featuring Trent, Duncan's older brother.

What a great story!

I don't often read pure contemporary romance/women's fiction, but I really enjoyed this novel by Sharon Struth. Set in a small town in CT with it's inevitable small town drama, all of Struth's characters were fun and believable with varying personalities to boot. The hero and heroine, Sophie and Duncan, definitely kept my interest throughout the novel, and I enjoyed the progression of their relationship. It wasn't instalove and they had lots of conflict between them (considering they're bidding on the same land). They both hold their own dark secrets they hesitate to spill and it was quite an emotional rollercoaster. I won't give too much away, but Struth made me really care about these two and what happened to them. Also, I really loved Duncan's brother, Trent *swoon* and can't wait to read his story! SHARE THE MOON was very well-written but I didn't expect anything less from this author. Definitely a book to pick up if you like a great HEA.

Share The Moon by Sharon Struth is a wonderful novel filled with love, passion, grief, healing, dreams shattered and dreams that come true. I fell in love with the characters (both primary and secondary) and felt that the storyline was realistic yet so interesting that it kept my attention throughout the entire story. If you're looking for an easy read that you will enjoy from beginning to end, give Share The Moon a read. You won't regret it.

Sharon Struth brings a lovely story of second chances with this first novel in her new Blue Moon Lake series.

Sophie is a reporter for the local paper, and her family used to own land on the lake, where they hoped to build a vineyard. An older woman (40’s), Sophie is hoping to reclaim the land as she still hopes to build that vineyard, and her oldest son’s memorial garden is on this land as well. Her last relationship ended badly, and she hasn’t been looking at men in ‘that way’ in a while, until she meets Duncan.

Duncan is a developer and owns the parcel of land that contains Sophie’s dreams. He recognizes Sophie, but doesn’t share pertinent information about his connection to the proposed development with her.

These two are delightful characters, a bit older than most romance readers are used to: they have previous marriages, extended families, teenaged children and a lifetime of regrets and insecurities that prey on their ability to trust and move forward. Sophie is still grieving her divorce and the loss of her eldest child, but realizes that her being stuck in that grief is affecting her other children. Duncan is a widower and is dealing with his own failures as a husband and father during his marriage.

These two have a rocky and tumultuous relationship that jumps forward and back repeatedly as they learn to trust and communicate with one another. Wholly gripping, their flaws and strengths are laid out for readers to see and empathize with, and perhaps even recognize. You will be cheering and jeering in alternate measures, with several tears of the happy and not so variety mixed in. Plot twists that take the story in unexpected directions and the sense of family and home that is highly intertwined in the story make this an unforgettable and enjoyable romance, full of everything that a reader could wish for.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

This was my first book of Sharon Struth's, and I absolutely loved her writing style. First and foremost, I was happy that the heroine was a 40-something divorced mother of two rather than the typical young and new-in-love woman. Sophie Shaw is a strong woman, a small-town journalist in Connecticut. After she is outbid on a piece of farm land near Blue Moon Lake (she wants to turn the farm into a winery) by a big New York corporation, she has the unfortunate task of having to report on the special zoning meeting objectively. Enter Duncan "Carter" Jamieson, the New York corporate big-wig, widowed with some interesting family baggage as well. He moves to Blue Moon Lake, uprooting Sophie's so-called perfect life.
I liked Sophie right away. She's no-nonsense and intelligent. She's conflicted because she's attracted to the man who took her dream away from her - there's a sentimental reason she wants that land (I'm not going to give away spoilers). At the same time, Duncan is a complex man, more than just your typical rich New York CEO, and he has his reasons for wanting the land on Blue Moon Lake as well. They both uncover some sordid happenings from the past, and a small mystery ensues as they both do their research to find out what happened at Blue Moon Lake all those years ago.
Duncan goes out of his way to bump into Sophie throughout town, and inevitably they fall for one another. This is a sweet/sensual, feel-good story, perfect for anyone who wants a wonderful HEA without a lot of steamy sex scenes. Both Duncan and Sophie have a lot of depth, and Sharon does a wonderful job developing the characters and placing them in the small, New England town. I'm looking forward to other books in this Blue Moon series.

We all have had a book where we read the description and know it will be great, just can’t wait to start reading it. Well this was one of those books for me. I knew as soon as I read the description this would be an amazing book a book that I would probably finish in one sitting and wonder why I did not go slower to savory everything. Oh how our best laid plans / ideas are never what we want. I savored this book instead of finishing in one sitting. It seemed all the world forces were against me reading this book. What would normally take me one day to read took me four days.

There were lots of characters in this book. Sometimes that can be a distraction from the main characters. Thankfully that was not the problem with this story. Each and every character played a specific part that was needed to fulfill a story that jumped off the pages. Readers will literarily feel transported to Blue Moon Lake in New England; feel the cold as snowflakes fall on your nose.

The story starts out with Sophie falling down and seeing the crescent moon thinking about when her child died there was a crescent moon also. Okay stopping here for a moment. This is something I honestly do not think I could ever handle. I only have one child and if something happened to him just put me in next to him because life would not be worth living for me. I know that we are not given more than we can handle but I honestly could not handle this. How any parent gets over the loss of a child is beyond my understanding. Even though Sophie has other children she is still having a hard time with the loss of her first child. It does not matter that it happened seven years ago. She is still suffering.

I am trying to understand why Duncan felt the need to lie to Sophie about his name. He knew she was talking about his company buying land to build a resort so why did he not just be upfront and admit that it was his company. Granted he is a man so that has a lot to do with his actions. Sorry guys!

This book offers a little romance and a little mystery. Solving the secrets of the past always makes an interesting read. This book was no different a wonderful story to curl up with on the coming autumn days. If you enjoy reading Robin Carr then you will enjoy this book. A very nice clean romance great for anyone.

Thanks for a wonderful read Sharon. The bunnies and I give this book description carrots.

Sophie hasn't gotten comfortable with her new normal yet; divorced single Mom living in the small town she grew up in; that is until a boy, now man, from her past comes to town and turns her life, his life and the town upside down.

When Sophie was young she had dreams and they didn't look like the life she is leading. A character in her 40's, divorced with two children in high school, she is not the conquering the world young heroine; she is a reporter but she is likely to report on the zoning board rather than cutting news. In other words is a typical suburbs Mom. I felt drawn to her; probably because there are many aspects of her character I could relate to very easily. Duncan, while he is a highly successful business man, has many "normal" traits to him too. He made choices in his life that kept him away from his family and he is now paying the price. He is determined to change, and part of that change is not letting a regret from his past slip away one more time. He will not let Sophie out of his life without taking a chance.

I liked the plot. I really do like small town books, they remind me of my childhood. Being from New England I can just picture this town and all the characters. Some of them I swear are people from my youth but renamed. The cast of this book is rather diverse and there are lots of secondary characters that just have a ton of "character" - sort of Gilmore Girl like is this town and its people. Personal interactions and the plot take center stage in this book. There is no pull so strong between characters that they throw clothes to the floor to rekindle their love part of this book. This is what I would call a behind the doors romance; but it is actually a romance where people get to know each other and realize their choices affect more than just each other, but their jobs and families too. Now with that clear I will also point out that the connection Sophie and Duncan have is wonderful and written so artfully ( a scene where he holds her hand for the first time made me go AWWWWW) that I can't wait to read more books by this author.

Even though there are many secondary characters to pick from I can not immediately choose who I think the next book will be about - which is a wonderful thing - that means there will be lots of books in this series.

I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley for my honest review.

In ‘Share The Moon’ we meet Sophie Shaw, a forty-four year old woman still living in the town in which she was born. Sophie live has been hard the last couple of years. Being a divorced mother of two teenagers isn’t exactly how she dreamed to end up at this age. But finally there is something that makes her really happy. The prospect of achieving her dream to open up an wine vineyard. But unfortunately for Sophie a New York rich guy out bid her. If that isn’t worse enough, this New York guy is Duncan Jamieson. Duncan is really handsome and he also seems to be a decent guy but Sophie isn’t really in the position to fall for the New Yorker, seeing she is a journalist and can’t have her feelings clouding her journalistic judgment. Soon Sophie and Duncan are more and more attracted to each other, but trust is something that doesn’t come easy for both of them.

From the moment I started reading ‘Share The Moon’ I really loved it. This book was very easy to read and it was very interesting from the very beginning. Although I first thought this book would only be a romance novel I was pleasantly surprised when I found a little mystery detective stuff in this story. I really enjoyed reading about Sophie’s live in the small town, with friends she’d known her whole life. And I really loved the romance between Sophie and Duncan. There is so much hurt in both their lives that it was really hard for them to open up to their feelings and to trust one another. I loved the way Duncan still remembered everything about Sophie from when she was thirteen and he was visiting her town. I loved how Duncan got really nervous around Sophie, although he was always a really confident, sometimes even arrogant guy.

The character I loved most in this book was definitely Duncan. I loved how he learned from his mistakes and tried to change his life. I loved how he felt all these feelings for Sophie and I loved how he struggled with those feelings and expressing them to Sophie. I loved how he told these horrible lines to Sophie. He was just really swoon worthy!!

In ‘Share The Moon’ Sharon Struth really did an amazing job in getting all these feelings across to her readers. I felt sad while reading this book, but also happy, enthusiastic and excited. This book was just a perfect small-town- romance story and I loved every part of it.

☆ I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. ☆

Share The Moon by Sharon Struth is a touching story about learning to love again. It has everything you could ever want in a book love, steamy kisses, immediate attraction, mystery, and drama. The main characters both experienced some type of loss and that’s one of the things that bonded them together. This is the first book by Sharon that I have read and it will definitely NOT be my last.

They say you always remember your first love. Well, Duncan has never forgotten his, Sophie Shaw. She has haunted him his whole life. While vacationing in Northbridge, He used to love the days when he and his father visited the local tackle shop. It was there that he fell in love at first site with the beautiful Sophie. The only problem was she didn’t really know he existed. When he has the opportunity to return again after all these years, he eagerly ceases the opportunity. The only problem is that Sophie has no clue who Duncan is. Though it doesn’t help that Duncan lied and said his name was Carter when they first meet again.

Sophie is on the verge of getting the thing she has wanted for a long time, owning a vineyard. The only problem is a company called RGi has swooped in and outbid her for the land. The night of the big town meeting over the land, she meets a handsome stranger who introduces himself as Carter. He is new to town or so she thinks. She gets the shock of her life when she finds out that “Carter” really is Duncan, one of the owners of RGI. The immediate attraction between them is hard to deny. The only problem is she is assigned to cover Duncan and RGI. If her boss finds out she has a thing for him, she’s afraid of what will happen. The fight over the land commences and only one can win.

Though it got off to a slow start, this story was amazing and you couldn’t help but be immersed page after page. I found myself neglecting everything and everyone around me. What made this book even more interesting was that it was about middle aged single parents. Many books lately focus on twenty something individuals. Even though that’s my age, I like to read about a variety of different ages. This is definitely a book I will recommend to everyone.

I can’t wait to read more by Sharon. Excellent job.

Pretty sure my legs are still shaking as I climb off this emotional rollercoaster. Whew! Just when I thought I had things sorted or figured out, Struth threw another twist in there.
The first chapter drew me in because Struth is the master of tiny, vivid details that make you really know and love her characters. By the end of chapter one, I liked Sophie and I wanted to find out what happened to her. Things got even more fun during the second half when Struth begins to unravel all the little interconnections and private mysteries. It kept me reading and reading and reading.
I would definitely recommend, especially to people who like their romance balanced with a strong plot line and conflict external to the characters. Get your tissues ready, because there are some very emotional moments, but it never veers intot he territory of being heavy handed as Sophie is just too darn fun and funny.
On a side note, I've spent a lot of time thinking recently on my ability to connect with characters based on how they're written. Struth takes Sophie, someone far outside my personal personality and realm of life experience, and built her into a character I adored. Every twist and turn I was in her camp, wanting her to succeed, understanding why she made the decisions she did. For me, that's a sign of a truly excellent writer. Can't wait to read the rest of the series!

I liked the idea of the this plot but as I was reading I felt like something was missing. This book did have romance but not enough. Sophie is divorced with 2 kids at 44 and Duncan is a widower and has 2 kids.

So these two met when they were about 13 and Duncan had a crush on Sophie. Now these two are attracted to one another but they are both bidding on the same land that means something to each of their families.

Although this book had some romance it had more of a mystery feel going on like who sent the news articles to Sophie, who are Trents real parents, who is paying off people etc. After a while I wanted to give up reading it but by then I really wanted to know the answers to all my questions.

The ending didn't leave me satisfied and I was disappointed how it ended. So Sophie and Duncan end up together but what is coming next? Moving in? Combing families? I guess those answers will come in Trents book.

If your into mysteries and a little romance you might enjoy this book. I liked it but I didn't love it. Hopefully Trents book will be more of a romance.

Sophie has finally found where she belongs and is is hoping to purchase a piece of land that has always been special to her, When CEO Duncan comes in and out bids her and threatens to tear away her dreams and future. As they deal with each other personally professionally she learns even Duncan has secrets that she may be able to use against his offer on the land.
Share the moon was well written and the characters very appealing, this was my first book by Sharon Struth and I was lucky enough to receive it an exchange for a review and it did not disappoint. Love, Trust, and honesty go along way after they are earned.

I enjoyed every page of this New England, small town, love story.

Sophie’s a beautiful, divorced reporter with a heavy heart. Hunky CEO, Duncan, moves from New York City to small town, Northbridge, Connecticut, to slow down his life and raise his son.

Their paths cross when Duncan’s hope of building a small lakeside resort collides with Sophie’s dreams of a vineyard on the same beloved spot.

Public hearings, small town gossip from years ago, less-than-honest zoning board members, a vulnerable brother, a zany environmentalist best friend and romance all combine to make Sharon Struth’s Share the Moon a page-turning joy.

I can’t wait for her next book!

Share the Moon is a great easy read. I really liked both Sophie and Duncan. The story has it all and kept me reading into the wee hours. It is nice to read a story that the main characters are older than the normal. I wouldn't say I live in a small town but I really enjoy the dynamics of a small town. In Share the Moon Sophie is trying to purchase land that is very important to her but Duncan also wants the land. I am not great at reviewing because all I have to say is I like or I don't. This is definitely in the like column.

Charming small town, filled with secrets and puzzling mysteries, fueled on by gossip and tales.
In Share the Moon you settle right into the small town living, the close knit friends known each other all their lives, families who for centuries have lived in the town. You can relate to the people, and fit right in with the circle of friends.
I enjoyed reading about the growing attraction and relationship between Sophie and Duncan, and how the story unrevealed over time. They are both in their mid forties (not let the cover fool you), they have past marriages, children, and history, even between themselves from long time ago.
The interest and allure just keep growing, even though all the odds are against them. The conflict of interest in their respected jobs, and family dreams, have set them against each other, creating friction. They are at opposite ends of every single issue in town. And every time they take a step towards each other, for a closer relationship, more secrets from the past are revealed, always putting a wedge between them, making them wonder the trustworthiness of each other.
But they are willing to compromise, work on difficult issues, face them head on, and support each other where it is needed.
A touching, charming, and colorful romance, in a vibrant and vivid small town America

Sophie has suffered one of the greatest losses imaginable to a woman yet she continues to fight on. Not only for her children and her family but in the hopes that by making one of her dreams come true she will honor her son as well. Duncan has also suffered loss the loss of his wife was just the wakeup call he needed to start living his life better. Though he is wealthy and grew up with both parents he has always lived in the shadow of his brother Trent in his mother’s eyes. When she comes to him for a favor in regards to Trent he jumps on the opportunity to not only help his brother but to hopefully become closer with his mother as well. He never imagined that bidding on the land in North Ridge would cause so much pain to others as well as bring him back into the life of his teenage crush. Sophie is drawn to Duncan but how can she trust him? He lied to her before and she does not trust easy. He also managed to outbid her for her ancestral land and the hopes she had of making her dream come true. As always there is more to both sides of the story than meets the eye. Secrets long buried will surface and life will forever change.

Posted on What I'm Reading

Okay, when I started Share The Moon, I thought it would be more of Women’s Fic than a romance. So, I had a hard time diving into the story. Cause the dynamic of the story felt like Women’s Fic. However, when I hit half way through the story the dynamic of the story started to change and felt more like a romance novel.

This isn’t your typical romance novel, because Sophie and Duncan are older than the typical age, and have been through a lot in life. With Sophie being a divorcee and basically patching her life back together. Then Duncan is a widower who is trying to fit more into his kid’s life. During the beginning of Share The Moon you didn’t see a lot of interaction between Sophie and Duncan, because there was a trust issue between the two of them. Both of them are after a piece of land, but with that land lays the secret to everything. Sophie wants the land cause her oldest son died there, and Duncan wants to obtain the land cause his mother asked him.

Once I started to get into Share the Moon, I started enjoyed the story. More things started to happen, especially between Duncan and Sophie. Both of them have trust issue, so opening up doesn’t come naturally. Duncan tends to jump to conclusion and it hurts Sophie. At the same time, Sophie isn’t opening up to Duncan, which leads to the hurt. I like that the fact that Sophie and Duncan develop a relationship, because sometimes you read stories where the characters jump into a relationship even with the trust issues. Not here, it’s a slow process to get these two together. I liked how the story start to take shape and how it actually revolves around the big secret that is slowly uncover. Overall, I thought it was a well-written story that had two people trying to fit into one another lives, and overcome life’s challenges. Yes, Share the Moon was a pretty good read.

Duncan and Sophie are both dealing with loss in their past and the effects it has on their family. Duncan had a crush on Sophie when his parents used to summer in her small town years ago and they are attracted to each other as soon as he comes to town. Then they find out that they are competing for a piece of land but for very different reasons.

This is an enjoyable read. I found it a little bit drawn out, but it does have a little bit of a mystery with a twist thrown in that I'm sure you will not be expecting.

Share The Moon is the first book written by Sharon Struth that I have read. I'm typically too impatient for mysteries or secrets to unfold in books, but this book is well written and captivating. I felt myself traveling the roads and visiting the homes, businesses and town meetings right along with each page. As Sophie and Duncan discover hidden secrets, they also begin to find each other. It's a tale that left me with a smile and happiness....a good way to end the story!

A terrific, grown-up romance that deals not only with finding new love, but healing from past hurts and learning from past mistakes. Sophie and Duncan both have scars to hide; they're instinctively drawn to one another, but need to deal with past issues and present-day complications. It's very rewarding to watch them work their way through all the bumps in the road as they find their way to each other.
