This book solidified every negative feeling I already have about politicians and power-hungry leadership.
Book 3 picks up right where the last one left off. The external threats are still there, ash, floods, a world literally falling apart, but it’s the internal rot that is the most destructive. Watching a community fracture from the inside, with manipulation, ego, and ambition creeping in was difficult.

What continues to work so well in this series is how character-driven it is. I felt the heavy weight of every decision, every loss, every shift in loyalty. And some good people are lost in this one. Sob.
Overall, this is a character-driven, post-apocalyptic story with a strong sense of community, layered threats, and a touch of romance.
*There were a few editing issues in the version I had, but nothing that changed my view on the overall story.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It's like walking straight into the aftermath of war - a war that Mother Nature is throwing their way but who would have thought the immediate threat would be internal.
Pyros: Whisper Ridge: After the Pulse: Book 3 by Sean Liscom is well written, action packed, CME post-apocalypse thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat to see how the residents of Whisper Ridge hold their little community together against Mother Nature unleashing her wrath from everything from huge temperature changes, earthquakes, volcanic activity raining down ash blocking out the sun and dumping ash, hail the size of golf balls, lightning storms, and flooding. If that isn't enough, they have to deal with internal uprising from newly added citizens to their community who believe it's their station in life in this new world to rule, siege resources, and control who lives where and by who's rules.
With heavy rains with lightning and thunderstorms that would make an Atlantic Hurricane look like a small coastal drizzle, volcanic activity with Mt. Shasta, Mt. Hood, , Mt. Saint Helens, and Mt. Rainier erupting spreading ash all over the Western U.S., and earthquakes shaking the world over and tectonic plates moving like board pieces on a boardgame causing the ground beneath your feet moving violently like the scariest amusement park ride on steroids trying to make you lose your lunch and have you screaming like a little girl and embarrassing the shit out of you in front of everyone, Mason, Tessa, Lisa, Elijah, Whisper Ridge residents, and the Kingston forces have their work cut out for them just to survive each day and they might just be the last community standing at the end of the day keeping the human race alive. The worst of their worries is with the lack of supplies and no sight of being resupplied, they have to ration coffee for just special occasions. It's getting to be hell on earth!
My only criticism is that with all the cast of characters in the four books in this series, it's hard to keep track of all but the main characters. It would be nice if authors would include a cast of characters list in their books and it would have been a huge benefit in this series.
That being said, I did truly enjoy reading this third book in this series and have already started reading the fourth book before finishing this review and also plan on reading Sean's series 'The Ranch' in the future. If you're into a moving storyline that will hold your interest throughout with a cast of characters that are easy to like, evil thugs that are easy to hate, situations and conflict that is believable, interaction between the cast that will make you laugh your ass off at times, and a series that is action packed from the first page to the last, this book and series is for you. I do suggest that you read them in the order they were written since each one sets the stage for the next both with the cast and the situations they're dealing with.

Another stellar installment in After The Pulse!
Pyros: Whisper Ridge is the third and best installment to date in an already outstanding series. Whisper Ridge can't seem to catch a break. A nearby settlement, Redemption Ridge, is laid to waste, and the military moves them, over 100 survivors, into Whisper Ridge, causing major issues, then, a surviving Senator is brought in, causing conflict up the chain of command. Then things get interesting! The writing is top notch, the characters are complicated and dynamic, the dialogue is believable given the circumstances, the plot continues to be among the best in the post-CME survival thriller genre, though After The Pulse is also part disaster thriller, that makes it stand out in a crowded niche! Overall, 5/5 stars, highly recommended for fans of post-CME survival thrillers, disaster thrillers and well written thrillers of any kind!!

unbelievable!
This is one of the best series that I have ever read. I smile, sometimes laugh, and sometimes cry. These books, including this one, sucks you in and will NOT let go! I cannot wait for the next one, and I absolutely dread the last one! These characters become your family and I find myself thinking about them while I’m working, and if I have 5 minutes of down time or more, I’m reading. A huge thank you to the author! In these difficult times, any distraction, especially a good one, is welcome!

A Politician drops in
As a boy during WWII, I watched John Wayne use his “Dozer” in the movie, Fighting Seabees. Here we are again, with a John Wayne-like hero behind the machine, marching toward the enemy as bullets ping off the blade. Here, the enemy is helped by catastrophic weather but the forces of righteousness prevail, but only as long as the weather calms down.

Again, Again and Again OUTSTANDING
Once again this story exceeds expectations. Every book draws seamlessly from only building and intensifying your commitment to turning the next page. While it's hard you lose characters you have come care about, another steps up to take their place. Not a replacement but as I life we fill the holes, because of necessity.

As good as the Ranch!
Characters come alive so you can hail them as heroes or villains! This would make a great movie. The plot swirls with unusual circumstances. People must adapt to survive! The growth in the leaders is tremendous! You will enjoy every chapter.

Can't get enough
I absolutely love this series. I wish my imagination was half as good as Sean Liscom's. This story is up to par with the first 2 books in the series and I can't wait to start reading book 4.

Pyros was another thrilling book in the Whisper Ridge series. So much happening in every chapter keeping you hooked to the end. Fantastic series and can't wait for the next book.

Excellent book!
