Writing for children is never as simple as it looks. It takes an understanding of how children think, feel, and make sense of the world. *Oops! I Messed Up Again!* does this with warmth and honesty.
I enjoyed the book so much that I finished it in one sitting. Although written for children, I found myself completely immersed in Shlok's world. His curious experiments brought a smile to my face, and when that curiosity slowly gave way to silence, I genuinely felt for him.
What touched me most was the gentle way the story showed the impact of constant criticism. When every mistake is pointed out without kindness, children don't just stop making mistakes. They often stop trying. They retreat into themselves, hide their questions, and become hesitant to express who they really are.
I was especially glad that Shlok found an adult who looked beyond his behaviour, understood what he was going through, and patiently helped him rediscover his confidence. Sometimes, that is all a child needs.
Having worked with children's books for many years, I appreciated how naturally this message was woven into the story. No drama. No sermons. Just a heartfelt narrative that children will enjoy and adults will quietly learn from.
I also loved the thoughtful questionnaire at the end. It encourages children to pause, reflect, and identify their emotions. Such a simple addition, yet it extends the conversation beyond the final page.
A delightful read with an important reminder for every parent, teacher, and caregiver: children don't grow through criticism. They grow through encouragement, understanding, and the freedom to make mistakes.

This was a thoughtful and encouraging children's book with a message that feels especially relevant today. The story follows Shlok, a child who keeps making mistakes while trying new things, and I appreciated how realistically his feelings were portrayed. The embarrassment, self-doubt, and fear of being judged felt genuine and easy for young readers to understand.

What I liked most was that the book doesn't treat mistakes as something to simply laugh off. Instead, it shows how repeated criticism can affect a child's confidence and how important it is to create space for children to learn without fear. Shlok's journey toward understanding his emotions and rebuilding his confidence was handled in a simple yet meaningful way.

The illustrations and storytelling make the message accessible for younger readers, while the lessons offer valuable reminders for parents as well. It's the kind of book that can open conversations about resilience, self-belief, and the importance of trying again even when things don't go perfectly.

A warm, uplifting read that encourages children to see mistakes not as failures, but as part of growing and learning.

It is a touching and motivating story that gives kids an essential message about life—making mistakes is how we learn and grow. Shlok's real-life situations help children understand this difficult concept, and at the same time, they acquire courage, faith in themselves, and the ability to persist. The uncomplicated narrative, charming chapters, and uplifting theme collectively ensure that it is a fun and worthwhile reading experience. An excellent book that will inspire kids 6-12 years old to not give up when they face difficulties or failures.

A beautifully written and relatable story that teaches children an important life lesson—it's okay to make mistakes. Through Shlok's journey, young readers learn that confidence comes from trying, learning, and growing, not from being perfect. A wonderful book for helping children build resilience, emotional awareness, and a positive mindset. Highly recommended for parents, educators, and young readers alike.
