Thank you to the author for my advanced reader copy of this book.✨

A slow burn fantasy book? YES PLEASE.
I was constantly finding myself thinking of this book every time I put it down. Everything that happened just kept me wanting more & more & more.
Utterly obsessed with Amara’s personalities - they definitely added so much to the story.

Hard to believe this is the author’s first book because it was so well written in my opinion.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, bring on book 2!

THIS BOOK WAS INCREDIBLE!!!💗💗

This was my first ever ARC and I am beyond thankful I got the opportunity to read and review this book so thank you to the author Isabella Cecilia for giving me this opportunity!!

First I just want to touch note on how creative the premise of this book was! I think the power system was incredibly interesting with the crystals and the powers each kingdom held!
(Also I love how “crystals” was used as a remark🤭)
This book really is a story following a girl who is trapped in her own mind opening up to others, making connections and learning the truth of her world. This book is enemies-to-lovers through and through, and I think that the character development was beautifully displayed by the end of the book. I could really see how the mmc (Talon) had changed and how he had changed Amara or (Amore🙂‍↕️). And woah. THE PLOT TWISTS. They were very unpredictable and heartbreaking! It truly felt like they just kept rolling in through the last couple chapters. This book also really shocked me with how lovable I found most of the characters, and I often found myself rooting for them (minus some easily dislike-able characters). But I really think each character had a unique personality and not your stereotypical side character vibes which I found refreshing in a romantasy book!
I would say that if you’re into enemies-to-lovers, a layered magic system, reluctant alliances turned to friends, a castle setting, and magical creatures, then those are plenty reason enough to pick up this book when it releases July 23rd!

Received book as an Advanced Reader Copy.

The book definitely gives ‘Inside Out’ meets fantasy world.

It follows Amara, a crystal born heir, who has crystal-given powers, but also possesses secret powers ignited by her emotions from personas inside her head. She is sent to train with other crystal born heirs in the Crystal Conservatory for reasons unbeknownst to her and the other heirs. While in the conservatory, she must keep her secret powers hidden for the sake of not starting a war in the realm, which is increasingly difficult as she spends more time with the heirs.

I think this book delved into an interesting new take within the fantasy world with the crystal-powers and how every single person was gifted a different power based on the needs of the realm.

The book started out really slow and was hard to understand at first, but as I progressed through it, I had a hard time putting it down. It had a lot of unexpected twists and turns that made it that much more interesting. I wanted to see a little more action at the end with all the build-up, but it just makes me that much more excited for another book! I’m especially impressed with the depths and potential of it as is the author’s first book. I can’t wait to see how the characters and storylines are explored more in the next book(s).

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and have caught myself thinking about it even after I’ve finished.

First of all thank you to the author for allowing me a chance to read this as a ARC!! 4.75 ⭐️

I absolutely devoured this book. The enemies-to-lovers tension was EVERYTHING — every interaction had me kicking my feet and screaming internally. And don’t even get me started on the MMC… he had me completely obsessed from start to finish. There were multiple moments where I genuinely thought this was possibly turning into a love triangle, and the emotional whiplash had me STRESSED in the best way possible.

And the magic system?? Easily one of the most unique systems I’ve ever read. It felt so fresh and intricate without being overwhelming, and it added SO much depth to the story. I also loved how the FMC’s different personalities were all so distinct and unique. It was fascinating seeing so many perspectives, emotions, and viewpoints showcased through one person, and it made her character feel incredibly layered and unforgettable.

But the plot twists?? PLURAL. Every single time I thought I had things figured out, this book completely flipped the script on me. The twists were insane and perfectly timed, and the ending left me completely flabbergasted. I was literally sitting there tapping my Kindle trying to get to the next page because there is NO WAY that was the end. My jaw is still on the floor.

First of all thank you to Isabella for letting me be part of her ARC team.

OH MY GODDDDD!!! THIS WAS SO FUCKIN GOOD! This got me hooked immediately and I love it. The different Heirs and their unique powers they each had was so interesting and fascinating and to see them interact and try and converge their powers. Amara ,with her power and her secret she is dealing with ,was such a great FMC. Struggling to be in control the entirety of the story but being the one that's the best to converge with was a pretty good juxtaposition of her character. I was always on edge while reading with all the plot twists and the secrets. The writing for the first sentence was so amazing and Isabella knows how to not have your eyes stray from the pages. There's something about her writing that I could not get enough of and I loved it. It was just so gripping and jaw dropping. When I was getting towards the end, my jaw literally dropped because I was in shock of what happened and I did not expect for that to happen at all! I'm literally screaming at the plot twist and the ending! I literally can't get enough and I am sat waiting for the next book! I've never been so excited for a sequel like this in so long and Isabella did that! I will not stop thinking about this for a while. Bravo!

ARC REVIEW —

This book was SURREAL. I would say the only con about being an arc reader is I have to wait EXTRA long for the next book (which I need STAT!). I cannot express the love I have for this book—which is what I want to talk about.
Not only was the book amazing, but it is also almost completely original! The magic system and world blew me away, along with much of the world-building! As someone who reads really dialogue-heavy books, I have never noticed how much I really love depth in description. This book explained everything beautifully, and I am so jealous as a wannabe-author!
The characters had beautiful arcs developed through the book and loved watching them grow in confidence and among each other! I was so sad about the ending, and I will need the next book in my hands so, so soon. The plot twists shocked me and the build up to these points made it so hard to put the book down (hence why I finished in such a short time).
I cannot wait for the rest of the series, and this is an OUTSTANDING debut!!

Thank you to the author and the TikTok book community for the opportunity to receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Power in Pieces hooked me right away with its unique crystal-based magic system, political intrigue, and emotionally driven story. Amara was an easy character to root for, and I especially enjoyed watching her navigate the weight of her responsibilities while struggling with the different personas inside her mind.

The worldbuilding is expansive and can be a little overwhelming at first, but once everything starts coming together, it creates a fascinating and immersive fantasy world. I also loved the found-family elements, the growing relationships between the heirs, and the slow-burn romance woven throughout the story.

While the pacing slowed in a few places because of the amount of worldbuilding, the strong characters, intriguing mysteries, and emotional depth kept me invested. Overall, this was an imaginative fantasy that left me excited to see where the series goes next!

First, thank you to the author for trusting me with your arc and allowing me to share my thoughts 🫶

“Some things just hurt. We don’t need to measure them against each other.”

In an unbelievably distinguished debut novel, Isabella Cecilia takes some of my favorite tropes (enemies to lovers, the chosen one(s), magic) and turns them into a story that is unique, enjoyable and addicting. Amara (our FMC) is likable, interesting and relatable. The whole story pace is quick even for a 500+ read. I love that each of the territories is known for a different type of power. The story starts with urgency and continues that way throughout the book. Lots of unexpected twists (I gasped OUT LOUD) and an ending that will leave you begging for more. Highly recommend, it was a great read!

Picture the movie Inside Out, but each voice/emotion has it’s own power. When they take over, Amara can’t control herself!

ARC READER—I am very appreciative getting to read this early! This book had very intriguing themes and I really enjoyed the concept of Amara having personas in her head. The writing was clearly deliberate and the author put a lot of love into this book. Occasionally, there was some mild-over explaining or drawn out sentences. Amara’s character is very relatable. The episodes mentioned in the book are a huge trigger for me personally, so I struggled to read some of those scenes. That is nothing on the author, however.
I would recommend this book to other readers and I would simply just mention some triggers. This is a beautiful debut novel and I foresee a lot of potential for future novels written by Isabella Cecilia as well!

I truly did enjoy this book and it was very hard to put down! I think the magic system is super unique and different than other mainstream fantasy books. Crystals hold the power of the world and each child born under leadership is gifted some of that power. Not to mention a FMC with a twist…. not only does she have multiple powers but also voices in her head making it very challenging to control herself. Now, if you enjoy a MMC who is dark and broody but deep down is the biggest teddy bear this book has you covered. Not a ton of romance but can definitely feel tension and a deeper romance to come in the future books (hopefully)! Overall rating this book 4/5 ⭐️ Romance 3/5 ⭐️, Plot 4/5 ⭐️ world building 3/5 ⭐️ (just because we have not seen much of the world just yet) and Unique characters and storyline 4/5 ⭐️. I will be sat waiting patiently for the announcement of the continuation of this series!!

This book starts with Lightlark vibes but very quickly you can tell it is its own book, the book itself gets better and better after every chapter and left me wanted more.

My one qualm is that I don’t like Savvy! Which is honestly probably the point, I really thought that in the end somehow it was all going to be Savvy’s fault and she was just leading Amara astray.

I loved that Talon wasn’t the morally dark shadow daddy that is secretly good. (Don’t get me wrong I do love that trope) He was just genuinely misunderstood.

The plot twist at the end though… I was GENUINELY shocked, I should have expected it but really didn’t, once again I thought Savvy was going to be the problem.

Anyway I recommend the book, it was a fun read and I really need the next book already.

I first want to thank the author for giving me the opportunity of an advanced readers copy.

I am obsessed! I absolutely ate this book up. There was never a moment where I knew what was going to happen next. The suspense was amazing, build up had me hooked. There were points where I thought I maybe had an understanding of the secret that was constantly being hinted at only to be thrown another twist. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and am dreading having to wait for another!

I definitely recommend this book to others who are interested in books with good world building and a slow burn.

The author gave me an ARC of these. Wow what an amazing book! The magic system was fun reading about and the voices in Amara’s thoughts cracked me up. The different characters and their depths were very interesting. The book does a great job using the magic and voices to explore the main characters emotions and grief of dealing with her brother’s passing and how it relates to her magic of creation. The political storyline behind the romance was fantastic. The romance is a very slow burn. HOLY CRAP THE TWIST AT THE END!!!! I DID NOT see that coming!! Will definitely be reading any other books that involve this universe!

ARC review:
Slow burn, will they/won’t they, touch her and die
This book really has a unique magic system with an FMC that is so interesting, unlike any fmc I’ve ever read before. Of course the book starts a little slow, as most fantasies do while you learn the magic system and world building, but when this book hit about 30% I quite literally could not put it down. It’s been a while since a book kept me up late and had me thinking about it all day. I was left wanting more in the best way and cannot wait for book two. I will think about Amara and Talon for a long time to come.
Fantastic debut novel!
Thank you so much for allowing me to read it as an ARC.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

5 Stars!! Power in Pieces completely had me hooked!! The magic system was unique and fun to learn about, and the voices in Amara’s head added so much personality and humor to the story. My personal favorite was Lust ;) What stood out most to me, though, was how well the book explored grief, loss, and healing through Amara’s journey.

The characters felt layered and interesting, and their powers kept me invested the entire time. The slow-burn romance was perfectly paced and never overshadowed the larger story.

And that ending… I genuinely did not see that twist coming. I finished the last page in total shock. My jaw is still on the floor… I can’t wait to see what’s next for Amara!!

This book was such an easy 5 stars from me. Power in Pieces was so different than other fantasy reads. It had the kind of plot that we all love in a fantasy book, but had so many unique twists that made this book stand out. Amara’s different personalities was such a fun concept. I think the author incorporated this element into the story really well. The romance between Talon and Amara was tasteful while still being sexy, and i don’t feel it was rushed. I actually feel like we have just begun to experience their story together and definitely left me wanting more. Impressive debut book. I’m ready for book 2!!

LOVE this epic fantasy

In a world filled with crystals that give off powers, the heirs and the spares undergo training of these said powers. But what happens when they start to converge these powers is anybody’s guess. Oh and the FMC (Amara) has multiple personalities/voices in her head. Can she keep them from influencing her powers?

It was hard to get into at first, but at 25% I just couldn’t put it down. With deceit and betrayal not everything is as it seems. Is Amara’s secret safe? Can she keep the voices and distinct personalities a secret from the others? You will keep guessing until the end.

Just finished Power in Pieces by Isabella Cecilia and wow, this book delivers. The magic system is so well thought out you can tell every detail was intentional, and it never feels like homework to keep up with.
Next, the characters are what truly got me. Their growth feels real, not rushed, and the chemistry between them makes every twist hit even harder.
If you're into fantasy with a unique story with depth and writing that pulls you in without slowing things down, this one's for you. Already hoping there's more to come from Isabella Cecilia.

Thank you Isabella for the ARC ✨ I absolutely loved the book!

The plot twists were incredible, the slow burn was perfection, and once I hit the halfway mark, I couldn’t put it down. Every chapter pulled me deeper into the story, and I kept telling myself “just one more chapter” until suddenly it was over.

The characters (and personas), the tension, the reveals - it was all written so well! And now I’m left staring at the wall because I need the next book immediately.

4.5! I really liked this book and thought the plot was so unique!! I was shocked by the plot twist at the end and am so excited to continue following Amara and Talons story!

I took off .5 because I know it’s indie published but there were a few grammar/punctuation errors that made it a bit hard to understand at some points and there were some repetitive word choices in regards to descriptions. For example “as a” was used a lot.
“The water slammed into him as a hammer from the heavens”
“her entire body swayed as a tree about to fall”

Time flew whenever I was spending my free time with this book in front of me, I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the series, it can’t come soon enough. I feel as if the character arc of Amara still has so much more to be told…
