This story is so droll....monotone, one dimensional....rich guy in Manhattan..enters a bet with his other rich buddies to meet a girl who is going to love him for himself and not his money...he falls in love with Alice who is supposed to be Black but her "sparkling blue eyes"mentioned several times is either a editing mishap or the author copied and pasted over words. Either way everything is too damn perfect...from meeting his friends and family to just plain boring dialogue.
I found several contradictions in this book. One... how Alice had blue eyes and was black? Then it was mentioned that her fiancee had 2 brother's but there was never any mention of them after that. A few misplaced added words as well but the story line was a good read
This was such a good fun romance that was not to heavy on the drama and just right on the sexy.I love the way the two main characters were with one another and how they handled their relationship and life situations. My only problem I think was the heroine winned a little to much about being independent, really a single rich good-looking guy wants to lighten the load some and you fuss. Also one other thing the ending sucks,it kinda ruined the whole story, sort of spoiled it,overall very good story.
I didn't like this book as much as I thought I would. First off when he met her she had brown eyes then all of a sudden her eyes were blue. Another thing that put me off was how fast the relationship went. I don't know it was little things that turn me off like her attitude. I understand of being an independent women but if someone is willing to help you without wanting anything in return, GO FOR IT!! Then some things were repetitive.
This book sounded so promising but the plot moved too slow and just couldn't keep my attention. The plot really lost me when a bartender made an oreo comment and the hero completely ignored it. So yeah I didn't finish the book which is pretty rare for me.
I love this very much, like how Alice is from a poor back ground but very independent woman who doesn't give a nanny goat about Trent being rich and all. It goes to show that not all women from poor back ground are gold digger. Alice reminded me of myself very independent (:D
Very enjoyable. Alice was kind of annoying, with the whole independent woman deal. Loved Trent even though he did make the bet, he regretted and paid for it.
