May Moreira moved to the Oregon coast for a fresh start — not to fall in love.
She wanted quiet, healing, and a chance to rebuild her life on her own terms.
Then two very different men unexpectedly walk into her world.
Finn is bold, honest, and impossible to ignore — a fire that draws her beyond the edges of her comfort zone.
Aiden is steady and grounding, turning ordinary moments into something that feels dangerously like home.
Caught between passion and peace, May finds herself drawn in two directions at once, learning that sometimes the hardest choice isn’t who to love — but who she becomes when she finally lets herself be loved.
Because starting over might be easy… but choosing where your heart finally rests is something else entirely.

Thank you to author RG Prince for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!
This was the cutest little rom com ever. I was giggling, kicking my feet, crying and just a little emotional while reading this. I loved that the setting for this book was on the Oregon coast being an Oregon native myself and I loved the small town aspect, it’s one of my favorite tropes. We have May a marine biologist starting over in a new city and two men Aiden a firefighter and Finn a coast guard rescue swimmer, who both end up vying for her attention after she moves to town. Not only are they vying for her attention they have their own little rivalry going on and I was laughing at some of the things they said about each other on their POVs. This books really had so many great things, from the quiet love forming, the bond between sisters/family and the dogs, did I mention it had the cutest little dog subplot. This was just an overall sweet story and if you are looking for an easy read it’s definitely this. Check it out on 04/21/2026!

Wow, just wow!
Firstly, I'd like to thank the author and their team for trusting me with their baby. It always absolutely blows my mind when an author sees silly old me and trusts me with an ARC. I haven't read book one, which will be rectified as soon as possible, and I am on tender hooks for book three!

I stayed up past my bedtime to finish this one which was read 33% in the queue for bookclub, then the rest tonight cosy on my couch, which are two of the best spaces to be when reading a book.

I am not a huge romance reader I'll admit. Not for any particular reason towards romance as a genre, I think I've just read too many thriller and fantasy books that I struggle to read of I'm not stressed out my mind, but I have been slowly working my way into the genre, and regardless of your interest in romance, this book (and series because you can bet your bottom dollar I am all in for the other two books) has something that will catch your interest.

Everything about it was so interesting! I loved May's job. I loved learning about whales and the sea. The town was gorgeous, I felt like I was standing by the sea when it was being described.

I absolutely adored all the characters, although I will say I went on a bit of a rollercoaster with Finn. Usually you hand me a sarcastic, charming Irishman and I am head over heels, but there was just something about him that got to me a little bit, but alas I came around and love him dearly! His possessiveness over May was kind of cute at first, then it got annoying, but then I adored him! Him realising he didn't have a shot with her romantically, but could be her friend (maybe even her best friend) and taking that step back was wonderful.

My dear, sweet, angel baby Aiden. I love you. I adore you. I want to eat all the sourdough with you!
There wasn't a moment where I wasn't falling over myself for him. He really is the perfect book-boyfriend! I am so glad they didn't rush getting together. I was never frustrated, only so invested watching them come together and buile a life with each other without ever realising.
And look, everyone who knows me knows I am a sl!t for a good NDE love confession/realisation, so giving me one in the form of May and Aiden was the perfect way for me to spend a Saturday night.

And you have to love the rivals-to-besties between Finn and Aiden.

The relationship between the sister was perfect! Nathan was an absolute gem, I love him. Neptune, Skye, and Houston are the loves of my life and got all sorts of imaginary pets from me! Uncle Mike, Cassie, Max, and everyone else who popped up were all fantastic!! It's so nice to read a book where the only "bad guy" was the rolling waves of the sea!

I've rarely been so enthralled by a book before! I can't wait until everyone gets the chance to read it <3

📖 Burning for May by R. G. Prince

✨ Main Characters: Aiden, Finn & May

❤️ What I liked

It’s been a long time since I’ve read a story with a love triangle, and after reading this, I’m wondering why I don’t read them more often (actually, that’s a lie, I don’t read them as I get second hand anxiety when the heroine has to choose, I’m shit at making decisions). R. G. Prince created a wonderful, heartfelt story that focused on fresh starts and stepping out of one’s comfort zone, which is exactly what our heroine May was doing.

I’m not gonna lie, though I love a charming Irish man (hey there Rogue from The Keeper), I was immediately Team Aiden. So quietly focused and always there when May needed him, he wasn’t brash or loud about how he felt, he was consistent, patient and unbelievably hot, did I mention that? I mean, the man regularly baked sourdough and cookies, how May managed to control herself I don’t know. I’d have attached myself to him like a koala.

This was a sweet, immensely feel good romance with wonderful characters (both two and four legged) that had me gripped from the beginning. Always enjoy this authors books.

Soft and quiet, but no less powerful

From the start I was invested in May's journey in her new job and her new town. I've never been a big fan of love triangles, but I have enjoyed RG Prince's books before so I thought I would give it a try. I'm glad I did. This was a love triangle without tons of angst and drama. There was tension, but fairly low stakes. Everyone behaves like intelligent adults, which I really appreciated.

I think most millennial women went through a phase where we wanted to be marine biologists. I blame a combination of Flipper and Free Willy. I loved the glimpses of May's job, and also the town she lives in, as it gives my inner 90's kid so much satisfaction.

The love triangle gives such a great opportunity to illustrate the differences in the ways Finn and Aiden pursue May. At first they seemed equal, but as the book progresses, you can really see the depth behind Aiden's actions that is lacking in Finn's.

May, April and June are a beautiful family unit, supporting and loving each other. I loved how they interact and have fun together. It makes me wish I had sisters.

I think my favorite part of the book is the way Aiden and May just seamlessly blend their lives together right away. Sometimes I think love happens that way, quietly, and all of a sudden you can't see how you ever lived without it. That's the kind of love I have and the kind I wish for everyone. In that way, this love story is a different one, but no less beautiful or important.

Thank you to the author for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

This was an easy 5⭐️ read for me.

One thing RG Prince is going to do is fill a book with love! The Spring Fling Sisters series follows sisters April, May, and June. This is the second book following May. May is moving to Depoe Bay, Oregon to start her marine biology career but doesn’t expect to find the worlds cutest dog days before moving and 2 handsome men who are immediately taken with her when she get there.

May is a fiery woman who takes living in a new town by storm! She quickly fits in and has a personality that will have you wanting to know her better. I think less than 10 chapters I was in love with her!

Aiden is a sweet firefighter who brings all the calming energy and is on the quieter side. He is your classic guy next door type. There to help when you need it and just happy to be around.

Finn is a loud, charming Irish coastie who turns every head when he walks in the room. He has a unique way of getting you to step out of your shell. His confidence is undeniable and he has a heart of gold.

And then we have Neptune, Skye, and Houston the most adorable dog trio around! They are the perfect side characters.

There’s always the perfect amount of sisterhood in RG Princes books that was definitely here in Burning for May. The sisters always show up for each other in just the right way and I can’t wait to see that continue in Junes story!

I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to follow the best trio of sisters as they all navigate life in their own books! Be sure to start with Layover in Love and work your way through.

Thank you RG Prince for letting me ARC read this. I can’t wait to see what’s next from you!

Obsessed is definitely an understatement with this book. RJ Prince has done it yet again, but I expected nothing less from her.

The vivid amount of detail she captured, especially of the Oregon coastline, was phenomenal. The writing was so vivid that I could clearly picture everything, from the houses to the streets to the smallest details. I was completely immersed in the world, and the level of detail was perfect without ever feeling overbearing.

Now, moving on to the bread and jam of this story, the love triangle. The way I wish I was May, but also the emotional rollercoaster I was on…. I would get on it again in a heartbeat. There were moments where I was literally gasping, jaw on the floor, completely unsure of where the story was going. I felt every emotion in this book, but in the best way possible.

Layover in Love was also one of my favorite reads. RJ Prince really knocked it out of the park with Burning for May, and I have loved seeing each book build on the last. I can’t wait for Letters to June.

Burning for May is such a beautiful read overall. The romance, the subtle moments, the spark, the love, the family, and the sisterhood all come together in such a meaningful way. Seeing how community shows up and rallies around these characters is honestly such a wonderful thing to experience through a book.

Burning for May by R.G. Prince is an absolute gem of a romcom that swept me off my feet and transported me straight to the rugged, breathtaking Oregon coastline. As a Washington resident who has spent plenty of time exploring that beautiful stretch of the Pacific Northwest, I was blown away by the author’s attention to detail; the descriptions are so vivid and authentic that I felt like I was back on those windswept beaches with every turn of the page.

What truly made this experience special for me was the connection I felt to the protagonist, May. As someone who dreamt of becoming a marine biologist as a young girl, living vicariously through May’s profession felt like a beautiful, nostalgic nod to my own childhood aspirations.

This story is an emotional rollercoaster in the best way possible. The central love triangle—a high-stakes, dreamy battle between a firefighter and an Irishman for the heart of a woman who has just moved to a new city—is pure romantic comedy perfection. I found myself completely invested in the dilemma, even wishing I could step into May’s shoes to experience it firsthand!

I won’t spoil a single moment of the journey, but I highly recommend picking this up if you’re looking for a heartfelt, atmospheric, and utterly charming escape.

We have May, a marine biologist, starting a new job in a new place. She meets Finn, a coastguard rescue swimmer, and, Aiden, a firemen. Attracted to both, how will this love triangle end?

Our main character May is the middle sister, and her love for animals is apparent. She adopts a German Shepard, Neptune, and they start their life together in a new place. She first meets Finn, at a gas station and found an insta attraction to him. Me personally, I would too because an Irish accent just does it for me. She meets Aiden, when she found a seal hurt, and he was there to help. Also, an attraction right from the start. Turns out Aiden is her neighbor.

It is so refreshing to read a book with low spice and lighter than what I’ve been reading lately. This book was sweet with some emotional back stories. May was relatable to me in a few different areas. I also love the scenery and where it took place. Seems like a beautiful place! Love the interactions with the sisters. Love how strong their relationship and bond are. The two men in the love triangle are so different and I loved each of them dearly. There was one man though obviously perfect for May. Can’t wait for book three!

That a girl, Rossina! Congratulations on another tremendous book! I truly enjoyed this beautiful story! I think this is the best one thus far! I'm sure you will write and share many more wonderful books! You have a great talent, and I can't wait!

The story is told in vivid detail, which brings the reader right into beautiful, homey Depo Bay, Oregon, right beside the characters, who are brought to life wonderfully in such a way that the reader develops their own personal relationship with them, and wishing you could transport yourself right into the story. I was so jealous of May and the rich, meaningful life she creates for herself. RG allows the reader to draw their own conclusion until the very end about who wins in the love triangle between May, Finn, and Aiden. The relationships develop at a normal pace, both drastically different, yet each significant in their own way.

RG brings in details from her other books and personal life as well, allowing the reader to feel connected to the story as it develops. A great touch, making the reader eager for the supplemental pages coming soon (hopefully!!), and especially for the next piece of the saga!

Fabulous read!

Thank you so much @Author R.G. Prince 📚 for having me be a part of your ARC team!!!! You did it again!!!! Congratulations!!! 💜💜💜
📚 I would encourage new readers in this book world to pick up Layover In Love first and The Keeper second to get familiar with April and June's story, but you can most definitely read them out of order. In order is best and you will not be disappointed! 🥰
I have fallen in love with this world!
Burning for May had me smiling the entire time. I loved all the easter eggs R.G. Prince incorporated into this story, (if you know her as a person, you would see the additions to this novel that will melt your heart and make you smile!) The story feels so realistic and I couldn't put it down. You have 3 amazing dogs, 2 sweet men who adore May, May venturing out on her own as a new Marine Biologist in a new town, a love triangle that is not messy but perfect, you have SOURDOUGH (if you know you know 🙃 the struggle is real), a hot Irish Coast Gaurd, a golden retriever firefighter, and the amazing and hilarious sisters June and April!
I had a great time reading May's story!!!

If you’re a fan of strangers-to-lovers and small-town romance, Burning for May by R. G. Prince is definitely worth picking up.

The story follows May Moreira as she relocates to Depoe Bay, Oregon, hoping for a fresh start. What begins as a quiet new chapter for her quickly turns into something far more complicated—and exciting—when she finds herself caught in an unexpected love triangle.

One of R. G. Prince’s greatest strengths is her attention to detail. Her vivid descriptions bring each location to life so clearly that you feel like you’re right there alongside the characters. She has a talent for creating moments that make you smile, laugh, and even kick your feet in excitement as the story unfolds.

While Burning for May works well as a standalone novel, reading Layover in Love beforehand adds extra depth and makes it even easier to connect with the characters and their relationships.

Overall, Burning for May is a heartfelt and entertaining romance that will appeal to anyone who enjoys emotional connections, charming settings, and a touch of romantic tension.

I am officially in love. Romance isn’t usually my go-to, but this book might’ve just fully converted me!!!! Thank you to the author, R.G. Prince, for allowing me to read this and review it for its release date.

“Burning For May” (book two in the Spring Fling Sisters series) had me smiling like an absolute fool the entire time. If you loved Layover in Love, just wait… this one somehow turns the sweetness up even more (kind of literally…).

May restarts her life—with a new puppy—and somehow lands herself in the middle of what feels like every girl’s dream: a hot firefighter and a handsome Coast Guard officer.

Aiden is soft, steady, and their connection carries this quiet depth—touching on grief in such a gentle, real way. Yet somehow they’re so sweet and adorable without doing anything about it. And then there’s Finn… bold, passionate, and impossible to ignore. Choosing? Yeah, good luck sister.

My heart felt so warm and fluttery the whole way through—this was cozy, romantic, and just the right amount of emotional.

ARC Review

I squealed when I saw this story in my inbox. After being introduced to May in "Layover in Love" I couldn't wait to read her love story. And wow it did not disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised and intrigued when I noticed it would be a love triangle. May is one lucky girl. She not only has Aiden- a handsome, sweet, baking, flower planting firefighter but also Finn-the charming Irish rescue swimmer battling for her attention.
I also appreciated how dedicated May was as a marine biologist. You could see how passionate she was about her job and how much she loved it. And the bond she has with her sisters was also super sweet to see.
The romance had me smiling page after page.
Now let's get to the real stars of the novel: Neptune and Skye. May and Aiden's German shepherds respectively. They were so so cute and loved their owners to the moon and back.

This was a very cozy and beautiful love story and I cannot wait for the next one!

R.G Prince has taken me to another quiet part of the world with this one. She has woven her characters into my life and has made it possible for a woman like me to believe that having a love story like this, having a chosen family, having too many quotes on a book is possible 😂

If you are looking for a roller coaster ride of emotions this book is for you. If you bite your nails when your emotions get overwhelming please gloves will be required.

This book is a quiet moment. Characters that have chosen to fill their lives with people who matter. A moment of love and a moment of grief. It’s filled with characters who you will fall in love with 🥹

I wish I can give more than 5 stars!!!

You have outdone yourself with this one R.G Prince!!! It has been an honor to be an alpha reader for you.

The first book in the series was already a five-star read, and then Burning for May somehow raised the bar even higher. This one completely wrecked me in the best way—it just hit all the feels.

R.G. Prince has such a way of building emotion that sneaks up on you, and before you know it, you’re fully invested in every moment. I literally couldn’t put it down but wanted to savour it all at the same time! The connection, the tension, the vulnerability—it all felt so real and so earned. I was smiling one minute and emotionally spiraling the next. So worth it. It’s one of those reads that lingers with you long after you’ve finished.

Honestly, I didn’t think it could top the first book but it did. And now I’m emotionally attached and need the next story ASAP!

If you like Strangers to Lovers, Small Town Romance and Unexpected Love Triangle then this book is definitely for you!

First, thank you to the author for the arc!! I absolutely loved this one so much and appreciate the chance to have gotten to read this early 🫶🏻

Burning For May is a little cutesy love triangle (more or less) and it was very enjoyable! The dynamics between May and Aiden and between May and Finn are drastically different but I loved how easy it was to know where the story was going relationship wise!

This was heading to be a read that wasn’t for me but the sudden change of pace towards the end for one of the love interests really really hit me straight in the gut and had me freaking out with tears brimming in my eyes 😭 I was so scared for a bit, but ultimately, I loved this book 🥹 I genuinely enjoyed the wholesome cozy atmosphere (as opposed to the usual genres I’m reading). This was the perfect palette cleanser for me and I’m so excited for everyone else to find this story!!

*ARC REVIEW*

I WAS SUPER EXCITED TO SEE HOW MAYS STORY WAS GOING TO BE LIKE AND THIS BOOK DID NOT DISAPPOINT MY EXPERIENCE OR EXPECTATIONS!

May just wanted to move to the Oregon coast, fix her life, and stay out of drama—but then Finn and Aiden show up and suddenly it’s giving love triangle stress in the worst but best way…if you can imagine that! And tell me why I couldn’t even pick a side the whole time???
This book really got into that whole “starting over” thing, but not just location-wise—it’s about who you become when you finally let people in, and whew… it hits. The tension? The feelings?? The cozy moments in between all the mess??? Regardless…I was locked in!!!

Maybe I should move to the PWC and become that girl myself…I’m beyond ready to see what Rossina has in store for June!

I recieved this as an ARC copy.

Burning for May is book two in the Spring Fling Sister series. It is an interconnected standalone.

This was a new to me series so I did go back and read book 1, Layover in Love, first. Burning for May can be read w/o the first book, but I highly recommend reading in order.

I absolutely loved May's story. Literal heart eyes for the Aiden & Neptune. So swoon worthy. This was such an easy read. I didn't want to put it down. Of you're looking for open door spice, you won't find it here but the story was amazing w/o. The chemistry between the MFC & MMC is unmatched.

I cannot wait to get June's story to complete the series!!

There was emotion, laughter, and suspense rolled into one great love story. I loved the love triangle, and I love how unapologetically herself May was. And I won’t spoil her choice, but that’s whose team I was on😉 and we can’t forget the true main characters: Neptune and Skye🐾

-Love Triangle
-Small Town
-Forced Proximity
-Opposites Attract
-Slow Burn

Wow, R.G. Prince , I just finished reading two of your books in three days, and I’m absolutely thrilled with both of them. "Burning for May," the second installment in the Spring Fling Sisters series, has completely captured my heart! This story follows May as she embarks on a new adventure to chase her dreams. She encounters a charming town filled with amazing people and finds herself torn between two fantastic men. It’s such a delightful romance, and I relished every moment. I highly recommend picking up this book—while it stands strong on its own, I suggest grabbing the first book too because they’re both just incredible!

Thank you so so much to R.G. Prince for an early copy of Burning for May, what an amazing book!

When it comes to romance novels I feel like everyone is always “ well is there spice “ “ how spicy is it “ and it felt so refreshing and dare I say almost “ new “ to read a romance that book that was plotted for the romance. Low spice but so full of emotions and depth. I kept coming back too, wow not only are these characters so cute, BUT THE DOGS.

Say less, you will 100% win me over with a dog in your book and Skye reminded me so so much of my own Indie Mae that I absolutely fell in love with May and Skyes bond.

Prince did an amazing job at choosing a great location and creating such detailed and well thought through atmosphere that you really felt like you were there experiencing it all with May.

And while everyone else is an Aiden fan, Finn had me hooked. I am a Finn girl and I don’t care who knows it.

This was such a cute fun contemporary romance, a shorter read but still so good, love triangle, small town romance ( I LOVE a good small town romance ) I will say I have some friends and family who are 16+ that would adore this book and layover in Love and I 100% plan on recommending it.

Congrats on your release coming soon!

Burning for May was such a journey of emotion. This was book 2 of a 3-book series. When May, a marine biologist, decides to move to Depoe Bay, Oregon, she first adopts the most adorable dog, Neptune, and then meets Aiden, a golden retriever fireman, and Finn, a boisterous Irishman, and a love triangle begins. This book has funny moments, serious moments, and downright jaw-dropping moments. It is layered with emotion, and a beautiful journey of discovery for May. Can't wait for book three!

I don’t have enough stars for this book. I was already enamored with the amazing sister relationship from Layover in Love, and this book doesn’t disappoint! This author always gives us the best banter in her signature text threads, and it’s my favorite part-showcasing the relationships in a unique way. The golden retriever x black cat energy here is perfect, along with the sweetest pups as side characters. I laughed, cried, and GASPED. I’ll never stop talking about this one.

DNF at 10%. It’s way too obvious. Everything is spelled out and snaps into place as soon as it comes up. She meets two guys and instantly feels like she’s pulled between both in the one second she made eye contact with them while trying to rescue a baby seal. Then immediately comes to one of their defenses when his buddies raz him about helping. It’s so overdone. It needs to be at least a little believable.
