The Beatitudes, the opening section of Jesus's Sermon on the Mount, teaches about the rewards of living in God's kingdom and the promises for those who endure suffering. The blessings mentioned in these eight verses-- inheritance, mercy, comfort, and more-- reflect deep longings of the human heart. But in the Beatitudes, these blessings are promised to some unlikely groups of people.

This was very timely for me. I really enjoyed seeing how many things in scripture tie into the Beattitudes. I also loved the way it reframed my perspectives about things I would commonly perceive as negatives. It was a spiritual call for me personally to pray more specifically for the body as we're all walking in one or more of these attitudes.

I have studied the Beatitudes many times, and I learn something new every time. I loved the tying of each of these verses in Matthew to other verses in various books of the Bible.
