This was a rollercoaster read. It was like getting punched in the gut, followed by an uppercut…. Then when I’ve come round being given a hug, a cuppa and told everything’s ok!
It’s incredible to see how there are so many failings across all areas and how badly the staff are being let down. Which in turn lets down the public/people within the services.
That being said, hearing those personal stories from people and how it’s affected them is gut wrenching. So many people who wanted to be a positive change and help people having their best qualities drained out of them fills me with despair for the future.
All those people who have been systematically failed staff & public, everything for greed instead of the greater good.
I loved the broad coverage in this book, all the interviews, statements, documents, and true insider information is really beginning to show the magnitude of the situation.
This is going to spark some serious debates going forward. I’d also like to think it will bring hope to those still working in the system knowing that there’s a voice out there shouting for them.
Written in a way that we’ve come to love Jay for- saying it EXACTLY how it is!
It’s factual, honest and a real eye-opener!
An absolute recommended read for those interested in learning more about the current state of the systems in this country. Or even if you’re not, it’s definitely worth a read to see what truly is happening behind the scenes!
