Silent Partner by Renee Vincent was originally published in 2011 and is now a part of an 8 book box set - Unforgettable Heroes.
Grayson Anders is a wealthy club owner who plans to expand his enterprise by opening a dance studio. He is a good looking guy whose confidence borders on arrogance. Accustomed to having his pick of women, he zones in on a beautiful woman at this club and leads her to the dance floor. The dance is magical and the chemistry between them leads to a night of passion.
Chloe LaRoche has had to start her life over after her original plans were destroyed forever. Now she has her own art studio and is the proverbial starving artist. She goes out to a popular Boston dance club called Gyrations and meets an alluring, hypnotising man tempting Chloe to take a few risk in life.
When Grayson wakes up to an empty bed he is puzzled and a little shaken. Why did the beautiful women leave without saying goodbye? He has to find her because he plans to have her as his first dance partner in the new studio. The problem is he doesn't even know her name!!
Finally he manages to locate Chloe but is rocked to the core by a stunning revelation. This is something so monumental for Grayson he simply can not cope with it. But, once he has managed to recover from the shock he knows he has ruined the most special thing he ever had. Now what is he going to do about it?
This is a short story that really packs an emotional punch. Grayson is a guy that has never really faced a great deal of adversity and when it comes his way he is ill equipped to handle it. Meeting Chloe , a beautiful and talented artist with a fierce independent " I don't need anyone" attitude knocked Grayson off his high horse. Now in order to make up for a HUGE mistake he will have to think of a way to approach Chloe so that she will give him a chance to explain. But, will it be enough after the way he hurt her? Will she be able to forgive him?
Grayson learns some valuable life lessons he probably never would have considered if he had never met Chloe. He is a much better man with more depth of character at the end of the book as opposed to the man he was in the beginning. That certain person that comes into your life and changes you for the better, that true spirtual connection that bonds two strangers together for a life time often comes along when we least expect it. For Chloe and Grayson the impact of their connection took them both by surprise. In the end it was a very nice surprise! I loved this story! There is a lot of depth and character growth and plenty of take your breath away moments. I highly recommend this book. As a part of the box set you can't ask for a better bargain. This book alone is worth the price!
Overall this one is an A+

This is the first book that I have read where the lead male character gives insight about the leading lady through his voice. Chloe and Gray are love characters shows story you get immersed in. They are characters you are happy and relived to see together.
Well worth the time to read. Kudos to the author for her writing style, original storyline, plot and imagery. This book is a case where silence is a shout.

Silent Partner has to be one of the sexiest, most sensuous, romantic books I’ve read in a long time, all without any explicit bedrooms scenes. That takes some doing, especially as the only hip grinding took place on the dance floor. Grayson is looking for the perfect dance partner and when he discovers Chloe he finds his match in every way. Chloe, on the other hand, has given up on dance and is concentrating on her art. At risk of financial ruin, she paints one last study that fulfills every longing and every dream. When Grayson sets out to find Chloe, it’s easier than he thought it would be. However, finding her and discovering who she is are two different things. When Chloe’s situation becomes apparent, Grayson discovers that he is less of a man than he originally thought, and setting things right with Chloe takes him on an adventure that he never expected to take. The attraction between Chloe and Grayson is palpable, to the extent that his best friend is shocked to realise that Grayson has become a different man. I loved both these characters, their emotional connection and the artistry that joined them together. A well written and thoroughly enjoyable romance. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.

An intriguing, steamy read! Taken from my review at RomanceJunkies.com:

Grayson Anders, as co-owner of the nightclub Gyrations, is very wealthy and attracts women like a magnet. But most of the women he meets want him either for his money or because of his name. So, though he may spend a night or two with them, he is not looking for anything permanent. In fact, discouraged, he had stopped pursuing the opposite sex as freely as he had in his younger days. Now he saves his passion for his dancing as he was about to open a dance studio. But he needed to find the perfect dancing partner before the opening…a woman who can match him on the dance floor.
Chloe LaRoche, an artist, had used all of her savings to open her own gallery. In the beginning, it had thrived, but now, with the changing economy, she is close to foreclosure and if she doesn’t sell some of her paintings soon, she will lose not only her shop but her home as well as her lifestyle. Needing to get away from her problems for one night, she closed the shop and went down to the nearby nightclub, Gyrations, the hippest club in downtown Boston. In her younger days, she had wanted to be a dancer, but subsequent events made that dream practically impossible. So she expresses herself now through her art. As she sipped her drink, she could not help noticing the hunk on the dance floor, surrounded by beautiful women, who were vying for his attention. He really knew how to dance and she couldn’t help having a few passionate thoughts about the two of them together. But Chloe was not like the other women in the club whose clothing barely covered the essentials.

However, seeing the lone woman at the bar, Grayson was captivated. Before long, their time dancing on the dance floor landed them in his apartment and a passionate night spent together. Awakening and realizing he had found just the woman he needed, he also realized something else…she was gone and unfortunately, he did not even know her name. Using all of his resources, he manages to find her once again, only to discover her secret. Will it tear them apart, or will she become his SILENT PARTNER?

Hot, Hot, Hot! THE SILENT PARTNER, a novel by talented author Renee Vincent, is a sensationally steamy, toe-tapping contemporary romance that will absolutely captivate you. Best known for her historical tenth century Northmen novels, Ms. Vincent has moved into the present with this beautifully written tale. Filled with well-drawn characters, self-discovery, growth, forgiveness, broken dreams and love, this story is one you will not soon forget. Not many authors can successfully combine romance, intrigue, passion and inspiration in one novel, but Ms. Vincent manages to do this magnificently with this contemporary work. bringing the story to life with touching emotion. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of SILENT PARTNER. I highly recommend it! In the meantime, as a huge fan of Ms. Vincent’s work, I look forward to seeing what she comes up with next.

3.5 stars. For sweet version of book. I liked this quick story and the process and growth that both H&h had to get to their happily ever after. I also like the diversity of characters in the book, as most books do not have people with disabilities as a secondary character, let alone a protagonist. This book does have a heavy case of instalove, so I found that part difficult and I would have liked some more time together before declarations of love were made. I think the feelings of the characters were quite believable for the most part (besides the instalove). Overall, a good story. *I received an ARC of this story from eBook Discovery and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Body language is a powerful thing. Whether it be moving to the beat out on a dance floor or moving to a more intimate beat during the most primal of dances. Thought and the spoken word are oftentimes unnecessary during these moments in order for people to connect. It’s about the movement and the feeling that is created. In this story Grayson and Chloe present the perfect example of how actions can speak louder than words.

Grayson is looked upon as being arrogant and over-confident. It’s predictable that he wouldn’t think twice about having a one-night stand. For most people the visual he presents make up for those unattractive traits, but looks can be deceiving. He is business savvy, commonly routine, and a clean-freak. When he meets Chloe, he sees right through the exterior and focuses on the sensual woman hidden beneath. He finds his artistic match and a new sort of dance begins.

Chloe is a very sensible and thoughtful character. Her mind is like a sparring match between her thoughts and actions. She tends to over-analyze every move she makes fearing what others might think. However, she is by no means a shy person and is determinedly independent. Her profession allows her to be creative while also giving her the peace of mind to be herself. When she meets Grayson, she decides to step out of her comfort zone and indulge in the feelings he arouses.

The physical attraction is without question, but after one impulsive night together, everything changes. Grayson becomes determined and Chloe deals with feelings she knows aren’t practical. They are unexpectedly, yet passionately drawn to each other and shocked by ultimate discoveries.

Ms. Vincent’s writing has the unique ability of capturing both the reader’s heart and mind. The emotional investment in the characters starts from the beginning. You’ll want things for them that you might never have otherwise thought about wanting for someone so fiercely. As the story builds, so does Grayson and Chloe’s indescribable chemistry. They may feel like they come from two different worlds, but they couldn’t be more compatible. The contemporary setting makes it that much easier to envision the characters and environment as the story unfolds. The title is very fitting with a few different meanings behind it, which are revealed throughout the story. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this story and would love to see it become a movie.

Another highly recommended read by Renee Vincent!

Review by Robin: The language of dance is wonderful. Whether you find yourself dancing at club, in your own home to at a concert, you move to the rhythm of the music as it touches your soul. Just as you sometimes find that special dance more primal and no spoken words are needed just the urgency to dance just for each other as we find Chloe and Grayson doing many times throughout this story. Renee Vincent takes us on a journey using the story of dance.

Grayson Anders is a completely arrogant, full of confidence and ever so sexy man. As he gyrates on the dance floor, every woman in the club would do anything for a one night stand. When he spots Chloe sitting alone at the bar, he sees a sensual woman. He finds his match in her on the dance floor.

Chloe finds herself in a conflict over what to do next, analyzes things way too much. Worried about what others may think of her if they find out her secret. She spots Grayson on the dance floor and is hypnotized by the way his body sings to the music. Stepping out of the comfort of safe life she decides to take a chance. One night in heaven with this incredible dancer may be just what she needs. When they dance he ignites feelings and takes her out of her safe haven.

From the moment they touch the physical attraction is immediate. That fated one night stand changes their lives. Although they are passionately drawn to each other they have to overcome the discoveries that are unexpectedly thrown at them.

Renee Vincent captures our mind as well as our hearts as we find ourselves entwined in the dance between Chloe and Grayson. There are underlying depths to the story that makes you stop and think about your own lives. As the tension arises between Chloe and Grayson so does the chemistry that is undeniable. Renee shows us that once fate steps in, no matter what obstacles are thrown at us there is always a way to obtain what we want in life if we just have the passion, hope and trust to do so. With Chloe and Grayson we find that sometimes we all need that moment to just let go and dance.

A must read for the dancer in all of us. ;)

A LASR "BEST BOOK"!!

What did you expect when you read the title, Silent Partner? Big business, and mega-buck takeovers perhaps? If so, think again. This is Ms. Vincent’s debut venture into mainstream romance, and the wait was more than worth it.

Do not mistake the ‘sweet’ rating for tepid writing. Silent Partner is well researched, offering background information woven into her story so skilfully it blew me away.

Blend the research with the author’s three-dimensional characters, add conflict and emotion on every page and you have a story that keeps you reading without stopping until you reach the end.

Ms. Vincent’s hero, Grayson Anders, knows what he wants and only the best will do when he’s looking for a dance partner. Grayson Anderson is charming, lovable and self-centred. His journey under Ms Vincent’s guidance is a joy to read.

Chloe LaRoche, Ms Vincent’s heroine, has faced many challenges in her life, especially when her dreams of becoming a professional dancer are shattered. So when she faces another, which could destroy her present way of life, what’s a girl to do?

Well, for one night Chloe decides to live for the moment; a moment that impacts on Grayson’s attitude to life, and Chloe’s self-belief.

The author takes her hero and heroine through twisted and tortuous hoops of self-discovery and growth and brings them together in a believable manner. Her writing sparkles, and given this is the author’s first attempt at contemporary mainstream romance, she creates the right impact for settings, pace and conflict. Her main characters are fully developed as are the supporting cast. Her balance of the self-absorbed hero meeting emotionally challenged heroine is stunning because of her research into the heroine’s background. This book is a keeper.

I really enjoyed this book. It was short and sweet. Chloe was sweet and a hell of a dancer. I will admit I figured out she was deaf before it was revealed. I wasn't fond of Grayson at first. He was arrogant, rude and cruel. Not to mention judgmental. I liked that he crawled through hoops when he realized he bad he screwed it up. I do think she forgave him a little too soon but I was really mad at him.

This book hit close to home because my little sister is deaf. I thought it was awesome that she could read a book where she could relate to the characters. After reading it I gifted a copy to my sister who loved it too.

Great cover!

Silent Partner was one of the novels in an eight ebook bundle deal for only .99, Unfortgettable Heroes.

What a great concept for a story Silent Partner was. I have to admit that when I started reading it I was thinking something was going to be a bit different about the Chloe since she seemed to be pretty silent for a heroine. The reader is treated to a lot of what Chloe is thinking but not much in the way of verbal. Of course when we first meet Chloe, it is at a night club where the music is blasting and talking is usually at a minimum anyways.

Grayson is sexy. He completely knows he owns the floor with his dance moves and all the women there want him. It was a toss up between whether he was super confident or completely arrogant. When he starts to gyrate and dance with Chloe, I could picture the pair of them right in front of my eyes.

When Grayson leads Chloe to his apartment above the night club, it was a very sexy read. I loved that he carried the shot glasses in his hands and all the descriptions that were used to get them to the bedroom. Hot!

Without adding too many spoilers, Grayson and Chloe don't immediately become a couple. Grayson has to fix how he wronged Chloe and he did an amazing job. I found Silent Partner a quick and easy read.

"Silent Partner", by Renee Vincent, is a moving love story that will have your feet moving to the rhythm of the wonderfully descriptive dancing scenes! Grayson Anders is a seriously single club owner in search of the perfect dance partner. When he spots Chloe LaRoche having a solitary drink at the club's bar, he is immediately captivated. Chloe proves to be his equal on the dance floor, and in passion's dance as well, but she is also a lady of mystery. Grayson determines to have Chloe in his life, and he is shocked when he unravels her secrets. This touching love story just got better and better as two souls were laid bare, and two hearts learned to trust as their faith in each other gained them the ultimate partnership. "Silent Partner" is a highly enjoyable celebration of romance and dance!

I don't think you can truly appreciate how clever this story is until you're about halfway through, when something surprising is revealed. At that moment several bits of the story came back to me and I realized just how impressively written it really was. Of course, our hero was slightly less entertained than I by this news, and in a true "oh, no he did NOT" moment, he showed his, uh, buttocks. I didn't expect him to redeem himself so cleanly - not with his reasoning (his internal dialogue) or by his actions - but his character was so genuine that I actually took his side there for a little while. Renee Vincent fans may know her for her historical romance, but let me be among the first to say this contemporary does NOT disappoint. It's a fun, surprising read that'll make you feel good, and it's not to be missed!

What a fascinating concept for a story. Ms. Vincent didn't need to generate the conflict in Silent Partner, it was there from the beginning - lurking beneath the driving beat of the music and humming through the sexually charged encounter Chloe and Grayson shared. While I liked Grayson and appreciated the lengths he undertook to make his relationship with Chloe work, I wished she would have made him suffer a little more for his insensitivity. He deserved it. Just as Ms. Vincent deserves every well-earned accolade that comes her way.

Nicely paced romantic novella. Ms Vincent's minimalist approach to characterisation and narrative is refreshing. In a mainstream romantic author's hands, the story elements could so easily have been padded out and repeated, resulting in a lengthy but far less satisfying book.

Surprising and informative description of the heroine's disability and the hero's reaction to it. The happy ending is a foregone conclusion, but reached in style, speed and comfort, resulting in pleasure and satisfaction. A few typos noted in the Kindle edition.

This story was part of a boxed set but I wanted to review each story individually as well.

This story definitely had heat between the two main characters. Their chemistry was apparent right from the get go.
Greyson the male lead is alpha male all the way. He is used to having the ladies swoon over him as he shows his skills on and off the dance floor.
Chloe the heroine has a secret that she is afraid to reveal. But when she is drawn to Greyson and he to her she forgets about her troubles and lets him lead her in a dance of seduction and possibly love.

Have you ever read a book where the character stays with you long after the story has finished? Hot, sexy, and a slow burn comes to my mind, when reading this story. From page one, you're actively engaged with Grayson Anders and Chloe LaRoche as Vincent weaves a passionate tale of love, anguish and triumph. Along the way, she takes you on a plot-twisting ride that touches the heart, mind, and soul. I walked away from Silent Partner with a smile on my face and lightness in my heart.
