This book gets all of the stars! There isn't a rating high enough for this one! Maddie and Nate's story is what romance novels are known for and why we love to read them.
I love that this story doesn't give a brief overview of their past and jump right into the present because you have to know their entire story to appreciate their reunion in this second chance romance. Maddie and Nate's love is written in the stars and is what we all long for in real life. This book puts you through all of the emotions so be prepared for that. I will recommend this book over and over. It's one of those that you wish you could read again for the first time and honestly, I believe I could start it from the beginning after just finishing reading and still be just as swept away as I was when I first started it.

Mr. Persistent by J.R. Gale is the kind of second-chance romance that just gets under your skin. It’s not loud about it—but it lingers. You feel it in the quiet moments, in the tension, in that constant ache of what went wrong and what could still be fixed.
Maddie and Nate?? Whew. Straight up emotional chaos—but in the best way. You’ve got brother’s best friend, first love, all that intense “this is forever” energy… and then it completely falls apart. And when it does, it HURTS. Like, you feel the fallout.
Then we jump ten years ahead and the tension?? Even worse (better). It’s heavier, sharper, and packed with all that history they never really dealt with. Maddie’s grown, she’s stronger—but those wounds are still there. And Nate… he comes back knowing exactly what he lost, and he is not about to let it slip away again.
What I really loved was how the past and present were woven together. It made everything hit harder. Every conversation, every look—it all felt loaded with “what if” and “we were so close.”
And when everything finally comes out?? Ugh. So messy, so emotional, but SO worth it.
This one isn’t just about romance—it’s about timing, forgiveness, and a love that never really went away, no matter how much time passed.
If you love second chances, emotional damage, and characters that stick with you after you finish… yeah, you’re gonna want this one.

What an incredible 2nd chance romance. From found family, to millionaires, bosses, drama, suspense, found love, loss, grief, & made family.
It holds EVERYTHING you could think of. It was an incredible read, with a remarkable family, incredible friendships, strong women, powerhouse women in power. Secret identity, humble beginnings.

From heartbreak, understand and happiness. There is so much in this from the moment they met to life happens, and oh my it about broke me. He never gave up on her and his feelings. This is so good and so cute!
