A yellow taxi picks up a woman outside a bar and speeds away. As the streetlights fade, the woman quickly realizes she’s in danger. A serial killer is stalking the streets, and innocent people are disappearing into the night. The police are baffled. The FBI is running out of leads. Agent Clara Strong has recently been assigned to the department and given her track record, she might be the only hope to bring this nightshirt to an end. In a race against time, will Clara break the case before it breaks her?

I don’t know how Welz does it, but every book pulls you in from the first page and this one is no different. Her writing style is immersive and descriptive, and yet doesn’t spend paragraphs describing the wallpaper in someone’s apartment. With each victim, I felt the tension in the pit of my stomach grow, and I wanted to crack the case just as much as Clara. I loved every minute of being on duty with Clara!

This book can easily be read as a standalone (but honestly, you’re going to want to read the whole series).

If you’re a fan of shows like Criminal Minds, then flag a taxi and jump in! What’s the worst that could happen?

Passenger Zero
by Welz Bailey

My rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book four in the brilliant Welz Bailey's special agent Clara Strong crime thriller series.
After reading the first three in this series, I was expecting a fast-paced, exciting and suspenseful thriller that had me on the edge of my seat and kept me engrossed, and I certainly was not disappointed, I certainly got that and more.

Clara Strong's move to Huntsville, Alabama, to take up the position as a trainee FBI profiler has landed her first case as the lead investigator.

Clara is desperate to make her mark in the Behavioural Analysis Unit and gets straight into searching for leads.
With people going missing and the bodies start turning up in the cities alleys, bodies left positions staged with mutilated faces, the urgency of getting a quick result was the top priority for Clara, she is irritated that there's no leads found from earlier police investigation.
As the team delves into this complex case and they get closer, Clara has the feeling she is being pulled into something more personal.
Can she find the culprit and the missing before any more bodies are found.

This is a truly gripping and intense thriller by the exceptionally talented author Welz Bailey.
I felt I was actually there with the amazing characters. Such as the highly descriptive settings.
I recommend checking this author out. You won't regret it.

I enjoyed being back in Clara Strong's world again. The prologue drew me straight in. No build up, just straight into the action, which I love. With a series of disappearances, the team has a race against time to rescue each victim from a grisly fate. The story was sharp, delightfully unsettling, and one you won't be able to put down!

“Passenger Zero” by Welz Bailey is a fantastic fourth installment in the Agent Clara Strong series. As Clara trains to become an FBI profiler, she’s thrown into a chilling first case where people vanish without a trace, only to be found dead later. With each new disappearance, the pressure intensifies, and so does the suspense. The pacing keeps you hooked, and the character development continues to shine, especially with Clara stepping into her new role. I couldn’t put it down.

Passenger Zero is the fourth book in Welz Bailey's Clara Strong series, and boy, is it a good one! They're all excellent, but I really enjoyed the extra layer of darkness within these pages. There's something so easy about Welz's plots that are so rich and layered, yet they never feel like hard work. Each book within the series feels fresh and exciting, as Welz puts in the research to take readers on a journey within a different setting each time. This wickedly vivid tale takes place in Alabama, and the depictions are so vivid that I felt like I was there, hunting the killer alongside Clara. She's really knocked it out of the park again; her books are impossible to put down. A well-deserved 5 stars, and as always, I'll be recommending this series to everyone who loves unpredictable, twisty crime thrillers. I can't wait for the next one!

Well, Welz Bailey has done it again, better than ever.
This is one of those stories that grabs you by the.. hands, and pulls you right in from the very beginning.
Though an excellent, well-crafted story, what stood out for me was the character building. Clara, the main protagonist, who has already found her place in Welz's previous novels, doesn't disappoint.
The author cleverly focused her attention on the perp and his victims, building a world that is horrific and unsettling, but at the same time leaves you with just a little hope for a good outcome... for some.
What can I say other than this is another banger, and should be your next read.
For the author, *****Five Stars***** up in lights.

Wow. The latest in the Clara Strong crime thriller series, Passenger Zero is a race to find a serial killer that is grappling with reality as he teeters on the razor edge of a mind that doesn't know what's real or not. It's dark and harrowing at times. Another great twist at the end that I never saw coming. I highly recommend this book. Add it to your TBR right away!

Exploding meatballs!!!! That's a heck of a story!

This is the fifth book I've read by this fantastic author, and this is by far the most plot twisting, conundrum curling tale that you will find difficult to turn away from!
Cara the MC is thrown into another twisted mess that could have been just laid to rest as just another MIA filing!
My ghast has been flabbered 🍻
