Welcome to Kay Shanee's Reading Korner Kay is forty something wife and mother, born and raised in the Midwest. During the day, she is a high school teacher. This was a really cute read. I’m still not 100% sure why Skye was so anti-relationships, but she definitely was. Knox was clear from the start about what he wanted, and when they realized they weren’t aligned, they at least tried to maturely walk away. Still, for whatever reason, they kept finding their way drawn to each other.
Once Skye finally got out of her own way, their love settled into something genuinely sweet. There’s a little bit of drama, but none of it comes between them, which I appreciated. I do wish it had been a bit longer. I wanted more of their relationship on the page and more of the outside drama. But that might just be me being greedy, because I always enjoy Kay Shanee’s work.
I enjoyed this story as we all know sometimes accepting the things we want and the kind of love we know we deserve, we self sabotage! Well Skye had it in her mind that she was gonna be outside pimping ninjas and God say nope I’m sending you your Husband that ain’t gonna let up !
I was all over this! 🤩 Mature adults 35+ (which I love to see) 😍 Alexa what’s the weather right now Entanglements a random turn of events that I didnt see coming 🫢 and a CONSISTENT man! 5 ⭐️ for me!
I enjoyed this book so much. Knox was so unproblematic. He communicated well and wasn't afraid to make a decision. Skye was a little back and forth but also had no problem communicating. I was pleasantly surprised.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ per usual for Change of Heart by @authorkayshanee
I’m genuinely happy I read this one. Skye got exactly what she needed, even if she took a little time to get out of her own way.
What I loved most was Knox. He was consistent from the beginning and stayed true to who he said he was. No games, no unnecessary confusion just steady energy and intention. That kind of presence made all the difference in Skye’s journey, especially as she was learning to trust herself and go after what she really wanted.
Skye’s biggest struggle for me was her hesitation in the beginning. She knew what she wanted, but fear and overthinking kept her holding back. But I appreciated her growth so much. Once she finally chose herself and leaned into what she deserved, everything started to fall into place in a way that felt right and satisfying.
Their connection worked because it wasn’t forced. It felt like timing, healing, and two people meeting where they were supposed to.
Overall, this was a solid 5-star read. Emotional in a calm, steady way, with great character growth and a love story that actually felt earned. Skye got her peace, and Knox was exactly what she needed to get there. ⭐️📚
Awesome read! 📚🔥 Skye and Knox’s journey was so good. They were first introduced in “Let Love Flow” through Knox’s brother Kilo and Skye’s best friend Nyomi.
Skye was set on having no-strings-attached situationships 💅🏾, while Knox wanted a real relationship that could eventually include kids 👨👩👧. Realizing they wanted different things, they chose to leave each other alone… or at least tried to 😅. The attraction between them was undeniable, and the jealousy was real whenever they saw each other entertaining other people 👀💔.
Everything started to shift when Knox came to view Skye backyard to build her oasis 🌺🏡—that moment really changed things. Skye finally gave in to her true feelings and let go of her old way of thinking 💭➡️❤️. From there, she and Knox built a relationship that couldn’t even be shaken by his past.
They were genuinely good for each other and clearly meant to be 💞✨. Loved it! 💖📖
After reading Let Love Flow, I said in my review that I was hoping Kilo's brother and Nyomi's bestie would get books of their own and here we are. I'm so glad that the author decided to put them together. Knox and Skye started out wanting different things in life. He wanted marriage and all it entails, but she was all about entanglements. Eventually, she changes her mind. I loved how Knox and Skye finally got on the same page. Their coming together was passionate, loving and real. The banter between Knox and Skye was delightful. I was glad when Skye stuck by Knox and there was no running away when secrets from his past came to town. This book had great characters, love scenes and emotional connections. Kay Shanee has given us another book that was enjoyable from beginning to end.
I loved the reintroduction to Knox and Skye. Their story was a beautiful way to interpret the words never say never and don’t let your past determine your future! The chemistry was fire 🔥🔥 Skye was apprehensive about a permanent future with any man. She was open and honest with all the men on her roster and felt no guilt or shame about her feelings. I absolutely loved her boldness, confidence, and truth. I loved his charm, determination, and blunt way of expressing himself. Knox, her bestie’s bro-in-law, was smitten with her and wanted forever with her from the day he met her. He had no idea she wasn’t on the same page but once he did he was determined to get her to have a change of heart.
I was looking forward to reading Skye and Knox’s story after being introduced to them in Let Love Flow and I enjoyed their journey to a happily ever after. Once Skye accepted and admitted she had a change of heart and wanted Knox just as much as he wanted her, he went in all gas no breaks to make things official between them.
The conflict in the story with Olivia was rushed in my opinion. It was like a bomb was dropped and the cleanup happened quickly, which also made the ending feel rushed as well. It would have been nice if some of the events that occurred were on page, but not having them on page kept the story light and pretty much drama free.
This was a quick read, but I liked it and I liked seeing this couple find love in each other. 3.5/5 stars
Skye definitely had a thing for Knox early on but she wouldn’t drop her guard to give her a chance due to her not wanting a relationship. It’s funny because the both of them would see one another out with someone else and a bit of jealousy would happen. Everyone in Skye life, from her son, parents and Bestfriend told her to give Knox a chance. Eventually she did by contracting Knox to build her patio. From there everything became a love bird history for the 2. Then when Knox was surprised by a possible daughter from his ex-fiancé, Skye who ran from “problems” like this didn’t. Great read and cute ending!
I truly enjoy change of heart. It is a love story that teaches us to not let our past. Keep us from a fabulous future that’s standing right in front of us. Skye was allowing her past to dictate her life. Knox was ready to show Skye that her future could be full of all of the love she truly deserved. This is great read! Kay Shanee know how to make you swoon!
3.5 ⭐️ First of all, this cover is GORGEOUS and definitely gave me that ‘90s R&B album cover vibe, so I had to check it out.
Skye and Knox’s love story was cute, but sis was struggling for a lil bit to let herself settle down and actually be loved... I was over here screaming, “GIVE THAT MAN A CHANCE!” 😭 But I really loved the effect Knox had on her. He was a GROWN man who handled things accordingly. 👀🤣
Ooo, so good! Knox was a persistent man, while Skye was busy ducking and dodging him plus love.
I like stories that depict strong Black women playing both roles because they care and love their children.
They did good by each other, and Knixon, whose momma was trouble and eventually abandoned the little girl. Skye stood by her man from start to finish, of nourishing and eventually getting custody of Knixon.
Loved the lifelong friendship that Skye and Nyomi shared.
4.5 Knox is just like his brother Kilo. Skye had to take the time to evaluate what she really wanted even though she was happy and content. The situation with Knixon and Olivia was really sad but Olivia learned not slam another door and Stokley and Skye along with the crew really stepped up for Olivia. Would like to see an update from this crew.
I'm so glad Skye gave Knox a chance. My boy has been pinning for a while. He went on with his life after Skye told him she wasn't ready for love, marriage, and babies, but he never stopped thinking about her.
Good read and storyline. The style of writing seemed to change halfway through in my opinion. Like the MMC sounded like a man at first. But then he sounded like an older lady talking. That wasnt my cup of tea but...overall good story.
This was a good one, Skye and Knox started out on different pages but knew they both wanted to be on page love. Their story took us on a cute journey with some drama and lots of love. Enjoyed all the support characters in this one.
It was the pot calling the kettle black for like fifty percent of the book. It wasnt until Skye saw Knox moving on or attempting to do so that she changed her mind on her "rules."
The book was a cute second conclusion to the series. I am glad she was able to get her happy ending. Sometimes, you have to reevaluate your life. It takes someone walking away for you to see what you want.
The FMC got on my last nerve....Knox was always intentional about what he wanted. He should have made her grovel a little more. The story felt rushed once the ex-fiancée came into play. Otherwise, it was still a solid read.
I was not expecting a story on these two. I enjoyed reading Skye’s growth and their relationship grow into something beautiful. They deserved each other.
Steamy, emotional, and full of those little moments that make you root for two people to finally get out of their own way. The chemistry was definitely chemistry-ing and I loved how the story really leaned into vulnerability, fear, and what it takes to finally let somebody in.
