He fights for money... but will he fight for me? Pierce Fletcher. He's a tattooed, foul-mouthed cage fighter. He's a sexy, panty-melting prick. He's a cocky, condescending jerk.
So why am I falling for him? I never thought the first boy I'd ever have was a boy I'd hate to want.
But things happen, right? We all make mistakes, right?
So picture this: The morning after my mistake, I get an email, and it's from my father...
...Telling me he's going to marry Pierce's mother.
He's about to become my stepbrother... and he's still in bed next to me.
What do I do?
What would you do?

Pierce Her Stepbrother is a steamy, explicit standalone novella about a young couple that find lust, and must overcome hurdles to find love. It is not part of a series, and has a happy ending. It contains graphic language.
This book contains a cameo from characters Chance and Cassie, from the book Chance Her Stepbrother.
It’s not often that I find a book that I love because I hated it so much but this one had me positively giddy with the glee. The cheesiness this book spouted like a delicious volcano had me giggling the whole way through. It was truly terrible. I couldn’t take this book seriously.
Pierce is an underground fighter with a god complex. “ I wave at my friends, and every eye in the room turns to them. I’ve just transformed them into fucking superstars.”
He likes fighting, and his penis. “ I can see the hint of an outline of my manhood through my slacks. And I’m thinking to myself, I hope she notices.”
Penelope is a confused little girl. “ She smiles at me. ‘Do you like him?’ ‘I don’t know. I know that I dislike him.’ What are you saying?
This book also has one of the most confusing sex scenes I’ve ever read. After getting pizza take-out they head over to his apartment where shenanigans commence in the elevator. “I’m waiting for him to kiss me. It’s like he reads my mind. He pulls in close to me, fast and hard, but then gently takes my lips in his… I press my body into his, he corrals me tight in his arms” Where’s the pizza? What’s happened to the pizza?!
“ ‘You’re big,’ I say ‘I am,’ he says. ‘Is it going to hurt?’ ‘Maybe’ ‘Fuck it,’ I say LOL LOL LOL, Yup, that's pretty much what we do with them....
“I curve my back like a cat, upward”
“ ‘Don’t stop!,’ ….’Touch me,’ I beg. ‘Touch me Pierce, oh god, touch me!’… ‘Oh fuck, Pierce, fuck, fuck, no, no,no!’ “ Geebuz chick, what do you want him to do? Should I call for help?! Where is the pizza?!
“ ‘ Come on,’ he says. ‘Let’s go again.’ “ WHERE IS THE FUCKING PIZZA?!
Besides that, Pierce was an overbearing, almost immature asshole, and Penny was kind of a bitch. Once Penny brought down the bitchiness and Pierce started acting like she was really something special, they were cute together. But I totally don't get what the big deal was about their parents dating and getting engaged. Sure, it may be strange to an outsider, but they didn't even meet until she was 18 and he was 21. It's not like it's even a little bit incestuous, but when her dad said he and Pierce's mom were getting married, she totally freaked out. I still can't believe . That was totally not necessary, and even a bit selfish on Penny's part (Pierce couldn't have cared less). Why can't the 'rents be happy, too? It's not like they even live on the same continents! It's not like Pierce is even close to his mom! Anyhoo... despite all that, it was an entertaining story.
2.5-3* I liked Pierce. It's a quick read, but the writing was kind of jumbled and disjointed- h is American, so is H, but story takes place in Australia and I'm guessing the author is Australian. I wouldn't have purchased it if it wasn't free, I think I am done with the stepbrother trope.
I don't mind fast paced instalove sometimes I even prefer it, but in this book it was insanely fast. Like 2 days fast. Within the month it was forever for both of them.
It's hard to get into a book like this when you get a very brief background on both characters and they change their personalities so quickly. It sort of unbelievable.
Another thing I don't understand with stepbrother books and I've read quite a few is its NOT illegal or weird especially when you're just meeting each other and you're older. Even if you've grown up together and eventually develop feelings for each other I still don't find that so bad. Authors tend to make their characters feel guilty or like their doing something horrible. It's not illegal and it's not incest. I don't know why that's brought up so much and made to be such a big deal. It can still feel forbidden with sneaking around and all but I want to read about a book where none of that guilt shit comes up every time they even look at each other.
Don't make a character a manwhore one second and than he's ready to live forever with the heroin the next. It makes the story less believable. In my opinion anyway.
I got this on KU so for me it wasn't so bad I read it and will probably read more like it. I say go for it I'd never not recommend a book, my tastes may not be the same as yours and you could miss out just because you've read a not so fantastic review.
I don't usually write reviews for books I've read but after seeing a few of the comments from other readers, I thought I'd offer a different perspective.
All in all, I really enjoyed this novella. Considering it only has 134 pages, Saffron Daughter did a decent job of developing the characters - which I can only imagine is not an easy feat. Some of the other readers have mentioned Penny's 'bitchy' attitude and I honestly didn't really take notice. Instead of having one bitch/prick in the story, Saffron has presented us with two! Twice the fun! Penny and Pierce have great chemistry and I love the dialogue between the two.
Why didn't I give it 5 stars?
Every 'complaint' (if you could call it that) has something to do with the length of the story.
I would have loved this to have been a full length novel - I feel like the ending was a bit rushed but that's just the opinion of someone who rarely reads novella's. Obviously if this story was longer, there would have been more breathing room to expand and develop the character's and plot even more.
Would I read from this author again? I certainly will!
Giving this 2.5 stars. I liked the previous book by this author that I read about a similar H/h, who actually featured in this book called 'Chance Her Stepbrother' as they had intelligent conversations as wel as hot times. This book however was annoying. Penelope was really judgemental, which considering she had lectured her father about this when he questioned her wanting to be a tattoo artist was hypocritical. From the get go she was a complete arse to Pierce. She jumped down his throat over everything he said. I just disliked her, which considering she should have been an interesting character was a shame. I think the story needed to be longer to fit in more growth between the H/h. The story just jumped forward a few months too quickly considering her annoying, juvenile attitude. I know he was portrayed as being juvenile but I thought he was pleasant compared to her. Loved and would recommend Chance Her Stepbrother though.
I feel like this had the potential to be a great book but there were some things that bothered me. I feel like at times the story kind of dragged on which is crazy since it's a novella but there were parts that moved really slow. Then at the same time the relationship between Pierce and Penny felt rushed. I never really got a true sense of their feelings for one another. While I felt the lust between them that is really all I felt. It just seemed like one moment they are lusting after one another but don't really like each other and the next moment it's love and ever afters. Just didn't seem right.
All in all, was a decent read. Would I read this author again? Maybe.
Another fast and easy read I love taboo especially sexy stepbrothers. Overall a great read it lacked some spark in certain events, I got frustrated with Penny she was definitely a difficult character to empathize with she was so immature and lacked better development. Pierce lacked the sexy alpha personality yes he was seen as that by others but it needed to shine through a lot more. I mean come on he was an underground fighter he needed to be more assertive and rough around the edges not just a major pain in the behind. It reminded me of another story but just a little more rushed.
I should have read the reviews on Goodreads before reading this. Instead I trusted the Amazon rating/reviews and now am extremely disappointed. The storyline was cool I was into it. I even liked how the MC was a tattoo artist and was following her dreams. Too bad she's a royal bitch. I don't think she's said one nice thing the entire book. She bitches and complains NONSTOP. I have no clue what our hero Pierce sees in her. Skip this book. Since Penny is a frigid ice queen there is zero chemistry between the two. Just him chasing after her and being treated shitty.
Pierce ~ Her Stepbrother is a cage fighter in Melbourne when Penny meets him and fall hard. They have only one problem, her father and his mother are about to be married. The romance between these two is full of confrontations and compromises, as Penny and Pierce figure out what they want in life including each other. He is willing to fight for her and she is willing to put up with him and help him find a way to out of cage fighting into teaching young men how to box. The romance is hot and the story fun.
I love me a good stepbrother book and although this was a decent book it just didn't do it for me. I think penny was my issue in this book. She was demanding he tells her how he feels like the second time they met and then she demanded he gives up fighting. She was just demanding and immature. I really liked Pierce, but Penny killed this book for me!
Penelope has just left the US for Australia to become an apprentice to her favorite tattoo artist. Pierce is an underground fighter who is cocky rude and hot. These two meet and instant have chemistry despite the fact that their parents are dating. This story is a bit predictable but would be a good inbetween books story.
This is the first time I had read anything on the Stepbrother books that seem to be very popular atm.
I absolutely loved this book the only reason I am giving this book 4* is I would of liked it to be a little longer as it was a very good but quick read. But if you like your mma fighters with tattoos. This is the book for you
2.5 there is a story here, and it would have been better if it was written well, but it wasn't. So many spelling mistakes, the flow of the story was so disjointed. Short read, and thank goodness i got it for free cause i wouldn't have paid for it. Didn't like Penelope, and Pierce was ok as a lead
This was a cute book. At my age I have a hard time believing that an 18 and 21 year old are going to live the perfect life that is implied in the end. Guess I'm a cynic. It was a nice story. Nothing outrageously memorable but it was a feel good, happily ever after kind of book.
I enjoyed this book. Penny and Peirce had amazing chemistry throughout the book and even with all of the complications that they faced, their love is able to prevail. I would recommend this book to others.
Pretty good story. I enjoyed it. Though I do wish there was a little more. It felt a little rushed. But I like the idea and it was pretty well written.
