Those familiar with the series will recognise the clear, practical layout: 100 ideas presented over one to two pages, each supported by tips, bonus ideas and suggestions for taking learning further.
The book opens with some essential groundwork, including establishing rules for discussion, using exploratory talk effectively, and clarifying the differences between argument, persuasion and debate. It offers a wide range of oracy games, strategies for engaging students and encouraging participation, and practical approaches to developing listening skills.
A particular strength is the book’s inclusive approach. There is thoughtful guidance on supporting SEND and shy students, as well as multilingual learners, ensuring that oracy development is accessible to all.
