This was one of the first novels I bought - it probably was recommended to me because Kasai Ricaco did the art, and I thought it was pretty. The pictures certainly are gorgeous, and the writing wasn't bad, but it absolutely wasn't my thing.

As you may guess from the cover, it's a story about a matador and a priest (to be). Both have *incredibly* dark backstories (like, so dark it's ridiculous) and end up being drawn to each other because the other has something they themselves lack. Or something. I actually couldn't bring myself to care much, because it was all so. very. much. over. the. top. Also, and I should have considered this in advance, I really think bull fighting is morally reprehensible, so reading about it wasn't... fun. But the rest wasn't any better. It was too far removed from reality for me to care - not even in a negative way. Maybe other people enjoy this sort of thing, but I prefer stories that feel more believable, like, say, about cat boys working in restaurants or whatever... The art was gorgeous though. And I will read the second volume since I already bought it and am obsessive like that. But first I need a palate cleanser.
