I don't review many books on Goodreads anymore, as I don't use the site as much as I used to. But I want to review this where it won't necessarily matter as much if the book sells or not. I just think it works.
I've been reading a lot of the books by the Gallery of Magick, and many have no real preamble before they get right into rituals Damon and the other members tested for consistency and effectiveness. There's not much theory on all of this in the book but I find myself in situations where I would prefer if I felt protected on a fairly regular basis. So I read two books first: this one, and his book on Archangel Magick. (For anyone who knows me this wouldn't be a surprise, although I've never been one for ritual magick in the past for a variety of reasons.)
Damon takes all of the unnecessary steps out of this--no bogging you down with theory or gatekeeping--and just gives you the things that work.
It starts with a general clearing ritual and a master protection ritual. You engage with sigils and say protective statements invoking a form of power from energetic beings/powers of the Archangels and angels in a certain way. You do the master protection ritual daily for 33 days. It never has to be done again but it increases in strength each day and may feel different as the days go on. I'm still doing the ritual, although I've almost completed the 33 days.
In any case, there were two really big things that happened while I've been doing the ritual. Please note these were both pretty serious events:
There is a statement in the protection ritual about seeing through deception. A person in my life revealed something to me that had been held back for 2 years. So please know, I believe these statements alter the field and you need to be ready for serious results. (It's worth it, but this was a lot to take in.)
The other thing that happened, however, is that me and the same person were in a car and were very nearly hit multiple times by debris from a truck. The person I was with is a good defensive driver but this was a very serious incident where we saw debris hit another car. We could have easily been hit and it was extremely surreal but we were fine and I credit this ritual in part with saving us, especially because I had invoked the powers to protect us while we drove on our trip. This trip was just over the holiday season in 2019, and it is the second time that I have been in car behind a truck out of control and didn't get hit. I believe twice is a pattern but it shows that the protective things I've done for myself have been effective. This one is an extremely powerful ritual which the author says may be the only thing you need in the book (in addition to the accompanying clearing ritual).
I can't stress enough how powerful it feels and how much safer I feel.

This book is one of many from a series written by the author and all of them, which I've had the chance of reading, have the same quality - they're precise, on point and very, very practical. But this one stands as an instant classic, especially for people more inclined to the (so called) ceremonial magical practice. All of the practices follow the same pattern, with the exception of the very useful banishing ritual. Although I'm not particularly fond of ceremonial magic, since I'm a folk practitioner myself, I use the banishing ritual with great efficiency and it has proven to be very helpful in times of need. Thus, I'm certain that even those that share similar worldviews with me will find the book useful as well. That is if they manage to keep an open mind.

I’m already using several of the rituals. They work and work well. I like the tone of Daman Brand’s writing. Each of these books are special to me.

It works
I decided to stick with just the sword banishing and master ritual until completed, 15 days left. So far, things have started to change for the better and have noticed slight adjustments around me concerning certain people in my life and the way they are behaving. Amazing when those considered family and friends even co-workers start acting differently.

Effective.

I love how the author was really straight to the point with this book. It's a literal guide on how to spiritually protect myself. A friend of mine gifted this to me. Lately I have been feeling really off- and so this book really gave me the tools to feel empowered to protect myself, my home, and my family. I started the Sword Banishing one today- and I'll be implementing the other starting tomorrow. Thank you for giving me the ability to feel like I'm in control in this part of my life, and will help me to really start shifting a lot of these areas of work. I think with this and Reiki, I see this year being VERY fulfilling. I can update later, but the Sword Banishing ritual immediately shifted me into more of a clear head space this afternoon. Thank you!!!

So here's this guy who has written many many books and made probably a good deal of money, selling magical techniques of sketchy provenance? He keeps telling you hey don't worry if you don't pronounce it quite right or if you don't understand what you're doing or what you're looking at and that, as a person, but also a metaphysician, kind of gives me a bad vibe. There's making it beginner friendly and then have people do stuff they don't quite understand that could backfire pretty badly.

I don’t really know if there is anything good to say about this book, it lacked in explanation and details… The author mentions angel names but don’t bother to even explain where are those angels from. I tried researching them and it took me ages. I don’t know whether his rituals work but calling some beings without any knowledge about them isn’t a good idea. I might try his methods one day after gaining more knowledge about this topic but I definitely can’t recommend this book

I am in love with Gallery of Magick, specially with Damon Brand. A fantastic book. Very practical and clear. The writer has a sense of humor that I really love.

I am impressed with these results so far. Granted, when protection magic works, nothing happens (unless you are actively fighting off a curse or entity attachment), so I don't know how helpful my experience will be to someone deciding whether to read this, but I'll share what I can and may update over time.
I found this after undergoing a long and fraught attack that forced me to recognize that my protection needed some major troubleshooting. I'm so glad I found this book! I've now completed all of the rituals I deemed highest priority for me, and here's what I will say.
The Master Protection ritual is legit. It works, even though I missed one day and had to add one more day to make up for it. The energy feels very powerful, building over time and working in ways I did not anticipate, strengthening my else of self, conviction, intuition, connection, and clarity. I feel it helping me effectively manage a situation with negative potential ramifications for me at work. I was also able to avoid a potentially dangerous confrontation at a restaurant last week.
Normally, I practically touch something and it breaks or I injure myself. Very clumsy. Ever since completing the accident protection ritual, I have not broken anything or harmed myself, which is a refreshing change. I've still tripped a little, but no harm came to me in the process, even when it definitely could have.
Overall, I'm very happy with these results and highly recommend this book! If you're concerned about working with archangels and genius spirits you aren't familiar with, that's valid. But ultimately, you will just have to trust your intuition and ask your spiritual allies, unless you're willing to do some pretty intense research. My intuition very much felt the power and safety of this magic, and I feel that this has been validated. I feel so much safer moving through the world now, which is a relief after such a harrowing event. And I will be reading more of Damon Brand's work.
Edit: Maybe a month after finishing the master ritual I started to visually see energy for the first time. Unexpected but very welcome result!
