If you like dark erotica, Slade is definitely a book you need to pick up and I guarantee you will devour it. Alaska Angelini has this amazing way of spinning a tale that is unlike any other. The intricate way her characters connect and the small details that end up playing a huge part in the plot of a story just boggle the mind. She is an author that I will buy anything she writes, period.
Five darkly delicious and well deserved stars and five drenched panties for Slade… he can keep me captive any day. A certified MUST read NOW!

Every emotion felt by the characters is your emotion to feel; their pain is your pain, their joy is your joy. Lily Captive to the Dark, Special Edition 1 wraps itself around your throat and painfully squeezes until you don’t think you can take one more moment before you’ll expire and just when your lungs fill back up with sweet oxygen, the floor falls out from under you and you’re thrust headlong into the darkness. I love this series and am thrilled Alaska put all 4 books together. If you haven't read any of the books in the series, all of the books are full length stand alones. These books are brilliant, dark erotic reads. You don't have to read these in order however I do suggest you read Slade before Lily. I believe by doing so you'll get the full effect of Lily's story which is heartbreaking and beautiful. Each book focuses on a woman who is captured for the purposes of human sex trafficking and the men that come to their rescue in every way possible. I highly recommend this series and author to those who enjoy dark erotica.

Captive to the Dark (Boxed Set) is the stories of Slade, Blake, Gaige and Lily, written by Alaska Angelini. The books can be read as standalones, but you will get more out of the story if you read them in order. This boxed set centers around four individuals who find love in the most unexpected way and place. The books are dark, erotic, and capture the reader from the beginning.
Reading Captive to the Dark (Boxed Set), was my first experience reading any of Alaska’s books. And I must say that I really liked her books and writing style. The author eloquently writes about pleasure, pain, dominance, trust, and love. The male characters are strong, yet sensitive to their significant others. The women who have experience tragedies come out survivors and stronger because of it; this was refreshing to read. Overall, I enjoyed the complete boxed set. The characters and plot kept my attention the whole time. I liked it so much that I purchased her other boxed set, Devlin Black. If you like dark erotic romance, then I highly recommends this series.

Must have for the lover of the Dark. Each one of these books is amazing alone and now to have them in a box set all these hot men together it's PERFECTION!!! This series is one of my all time favorites. And then to have the added special edition of Lily and to find out her story. If you haven't read any of these stories you need this box set like you need your next breath. Alaska Angelini writes so beautifully that you can't help but connect with each character and their struggles. I guarantee you will be a instant fan after reading these so go take a walk on the dark side and become a Captive to the Dark !! YOU. NEED. THIS. IN. YOUR. LIFE!!!!

Well the last story between Lily and Zain was definitely the longest and the most interesting. She wasn't a weak timid woman even after experieing such tragic events. He wasn't constrained to being a hard-nosed man. They worked together well through their issues and situations. Definitely a great read!

Beyond expectations!
I love this box set! Being able to read the stories one after the other without missing a beat made the experience better since I didn't have to wait. The characters are all strong, the plots were wonderful, as well as the twists.

this is a GREAT series. Its a 4 book series and I picked it up on Kindle Unlimited. I haven't read anything from this author, but wow. I really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed book 4 when she brought all the characters from the 3 other books together and wrote a GREAT story. This is a must read.

I have only 3 words...Slade, Slade, Slade! How does Ms. Angelini manage to always make me fall for the bad guys? I am definitely going to Stockholm Syndrome HELL! This book is a book chock full of triggers...so head the warning! She’s not lying or sugarcoating it!
I went into this book blind, didn’t read any reviews because I like Alaska’s surprises. Boy, were there some surprises in this one. So many I start rooting for the bad guy or is he the good guy....heck just call him Slade. Slade, is one messed up individual but then again so is Mary. To be honest, I don’t think there was a single character in this book that wasn’t messed up in some way. There were twists, turns, OMFG moments, and did that just really happen moments. Yep folks, just so you know, it happened!
I enjoyed this book, it kept me on edge and it was beyond dark! Just the way I like them!!!! I definitely recommend you pick this up if you like dark books with questionable content! I am going to keep reading this series that’s for darn sure!!!

I don’t’ know what it was with Blake, but I had a harder time warming up to him. I can’t explain what it was with Blake, but I think he may have just been too much for me. Of course Slade is a tough act to follow. The story was good, I just didn’t connect well with Gaige.

The book has a great deal of emotional content, HEED THE TRIGGER WARNINGS, they are not a joke! Gaige is filled with rage due to his little brothers murder 10 years ago. Elle, was his brother’s girlfriend and went missing the day his brother was killed. Gaige has been harboring so much anger and it has all been directed towards the woman that went missing. Imagine his surprise, when he runs into Elle while undercover attempting to bring down a cartel. Sometimes, things are not always as they seem.
This book is full of feels and can be even be uncomfortable at times but I thought the story worked and had me on the edge of my seat.

This book returned to Lily, the woman captured in Slade. This book has all the characters from previous books and we finally get Lily’s full story. Lily and Zain are two incredibly broken individuals that fell in love under extremely unusual circumstances. Even though Lily was gifted to Zain, doesn’t necessarily mean that Zain was part of the trafficking empire. This book had so many twists and turns. I am glad that everyone got what they deserved, and boy did they get what they deserved! A fitting end to an deeply disturbing dark series. This series isn’t for everyone but if you like dark, I recommend it.

1. I read the paperback version of this book and I would recommend getting each book or read the eBook. The book is bulky, flimsy and awkward to hold to read.
2. This is a dark book that may trigger some - it contains- Rape, Sex trafficking, Murder, Abuse, Violence and BDSM. If you do not like this type of stuff this is not the book for you.
3. There are some problems with the writing - sentences have double words, added words that don't make sense and it distracts from the reading. Mainly they were in the second story, but the stories were so good I had to give it 5 stars regardless.
This book contains 4 different stories. All the characters are wonderful and take you on an amazing dark adventure full of twists and turns that keep you in suspense and holding your breathe until the end.
The last story is really amazing because it brings in all the characters from the other stories and has them working together.

Hot, dark, impossible to put dowm
This book is an anthology of the first four books in the Captive to the Dark series, Slate, Blake, Gaige and Lily
Apparently this was Alaska's first foray into independent publishing. Well, you could have fooled me. Although the typos and punctuation issues jolted me from immersing myself in the stories as much as I would like, the characters, the plots etc felt real and I found myself empathising with the characters more than I would have expected to.
I'm giving this 5* despite the typos etc as I feel the book, the stories and the characters make the book what it is

Completely relevant
A. A. has an uncanny way of making a very relevant topic of our evil and twisted society into a very interesting, sensual and sexual easy to enjoy format. I know very well this series was meant to be a dark titillating tale, but please look deeper. Every one of these stories could have been taken from the seeder side of todays news. Kidnapping, human trafficking, illegal weapons, cartel, rapes, murders and the mental and physical devastation it leaves behind. Amazing insight and great series.

Wow
Underrated box set. Must read. These stories are great and way better than I expected. Slade, Blake, and Gaige are not to messed with. Their women are off limits and it was awesome to see them all together in Lilly's story.

Amazing!!
Absolutely amazing boxed set. I love how all the caricatures came together in the last book. These books definitely made it had not to be part of it and fall in love with all of the caricatures.

Wow! What a great series. Absolutely loved how all four books linked together in last one. Each could be read alone, but as a set were well worth the time. Great suspense and I appreciated all the difficult topics Ms. Angelini took on. Excellent choice. Glad I discovered this through KU. PS... I want Blake. What an amazing man. REally enjoyed the different perspectives of the male leads. Added a lot to the entirety of the series. Will definitely read more from Ms. Angelini. One big bugaboo - lots of typos and grammar errors. Yuck! I'd give the rating a hit, but I liked series too much.

I liked the stories, although I was expecting them to crossover a bit more, they didn't at all, until the fourth one, "Lily", where they all were together. I liked the fact that the stories were so different, but, in my head they are all mixed up when I think of them now, because even though the stories were all different, the personalities and the actions of the characters were almost identical to each other. I liked "Slade" and "Lily" the best, the other two were just fillers, for me.
