What if I told you that the shape of your nose could reveal your personality? Or that the way you walk into a room is a giveaway to how you think? Or that any time you’ve felt ugly, you were just miss- ing one essential piece of truth about yourself? I’m excited to introduce you to a system that identifies 4 Types of beauty that women naturally express—including you. When you discover which unique Type of beauty you express (both inwardly and outwardly), you may find that your so-called flaws are actually your best features and you can better love and be yourself in a way you never have before. Discovering which Type of beauty you express is a powerful, enlightening experience and I’m excited for you to have it. This system has changed my life forever, as well as the lives of tens of thousands of other women around the world. It’s called Beauty Profiling, and it’s an assessment tool that teaches you how to recognize, understand, and love your inner source of beauty—the true you.

I have given this book only 4 stars because, while it will help you to determine your type, the actual course is needed for the rest. This book will not tell you what colors, design lines, texture, etc to wear for your type. You will need the course for that. She does mention this at the very beginning of the book though so it confuses me how people read the whole book and are surprised it wasn't included. She gives good examples though and the book is beyond detailed enough to help you to determine your type. The biggest tip I can give is to follow your instinct. Don't over analyze the system.
There wasn't really anything in the book that I hadn't already seen in her online videos. I thought that there would be more about the actual elements of Dressing Your Truth but instead she directs you to her website to buy the online courses for that. And those cost $279. Kind've makes me mad to be honest.
Interesting, but not enlightening. She had a lot to say, but it did not feel meaningful to me. I thought it was lame that she included all these testimonials throughout the book that weren't illustrative of how to understand or apply the types of beauty but to try to get you to subscribe to her program that actually teaches you how to "dress your truth."

I read this book a few years ago, but apparently never updated it here. The book is good, but doesn't explain the Dress Your Truth details. It gives some explanations of why you should purchase the program, but never tells you "the program". So it was a little disappointing, even though I learned a lot & still use the ideas I gleaned from reading the book. Of all Carol Tuttle's books, this one was my least favorite, for the sheer reason I stated earlier. However, all of her other books I've read have greatly impacted me & have been staples on my bookshelf!
I don't ever take people's advice 110%. However, I do take bits and pieces and this book gave me a lot of little things that I love! I appreciate choosing for myself what I see in myself. It's a great advice and guidance book.
I can't say that anything in this book was earth shattering changing for me but it did make me stop and think about some things in my nature that were hard to admit. After admitting though, I can look at these qualities in my nature and quit pretending they don't exist or sweep them under the rug and can face them and make positive changes. They're part of my nature but it doesn't mean this is the way it is going to be and continue on my merry way...... For me, it's been an interesting journey. Am I going to go out and change my wardrobe and hair and make up like the book teaches? No. This isn't a religion. It's about making money. Take from it what you find useful and helpful but don't forget that behind all of this, it's a business.......
Using this book as a companion to the Dress Your Truth or Live Your Truth online materials is helpful, at times redundant, but I felt like it confirmed for me what I needed to know and helped me to understand all of the types of energy a lot better. Because of this program I understand better why I am the way I am and why other people are the way they are. I like this perspective because it values all people and how we do things differently, trying to take away the "you should" or "you shouldn't" statements away from looking at people. I also like how the Dress Your Truth course has practical application tools for helping me feel better about who I am and owning it, instead of just leaving it at that without any way of addressing it in my life.
This is an interesting book. Definitely helps to understand myself and why I do the things I do. Also helps to understand why other people do the things they do. Had fun watching the online course they provide with this book. It definitely fits me and I was laughing at some of the ways I do things and why in the book. Nice guide line to getting to understand your self and others. Now I'm reading the Child Whisperer to see if I like it from what I heard about it.
My biggest problem with this book is I leave it super confused. I have no idea what my type is. I agree that different clothes look good or bad on different people based on their physical appearance and personality, but I was hoping to figure out what looked best on me. I am just more confused than ever now. I may try her free online course (I do have friends that are into Dressing Your Truth) and see if I have any better idea.
Loved it!!! Goes along great with the book! Do both. I did the free course, and read the book, then I signed up for the paid course at the beginning of May. Huge discount was available. I couldn't have afforded it any other way. Totally worth it, if you can afford the paid course as well. (that is where all the beauty fashion fun come into play)
This book is meant to be used in conjunction with an online, paid choose. Though it can be helpful as a stand alone work, you may be missing some details if you read just this book without taking the course as well. I really liked it and thought it added some information to what I already knew from reading "The Child Whisperer."
This was an interesting read and was fun to discuss with my mom and sisters this summer as we tried to determine whether or not we were "dressing our truth". Some interesting ideas here. I haven't bought the complete "system," but I may someday.
Intended to be used as a companion with the online course, not as a standalone book. I have found the idea of the four energy types to be accurate and applicable to me and my family. A life-changing concept.
It was much more interesting than I thought it would be. I have been sitting on the information for a few days and I believe that when I am ready to start buying clothes again I will invest in the Dressing Your Truth system to help me buy clothes best suited for who I am.
