I hid my daughter behind me… And prayed her father would never find us.
Three men had me cornered. No way out. No place left to run. I was ready to die.
Then one of them dropped. Dead. Another followed. And before I could even breathe - he stepped out of the shadows.
Adriano Dante. The man I loved. The man I betrayed. The man who thinks I’ve been dead for years.
“You weren’t ever supposed to find out I’m still alive.”
His gaze drags over me…
The blood. The fear. The little girl clinging to my side.
And then - Everything changes.
Because now he knows.
I should run. I do run.
He still catches me.
Now I’m back in his world.
In his house. Under his rules. At the mercy of the most feared enforcer in the Dante family.
He doesn’t ask questions. He doesn’t give me a choice.
He takes.
Every glance is a warning. Every touch feels like punishment. Every word drips with the promise of what he’ll do if I try to run again.
I tell myself I’m here for my daughter. For her safety.
But my body remembers him.
The way he used to own me. The way he still can.
And the more I fight him… The more I realize -
I didn’t just run from the mafia. I ran from the only man… Who would burn the world, To keep me.

DNF @45% so frustrating I can’t read any more how much longer do you want to D-R-A-G out actually telling the truth she must have been asked 20,000 times it’s just annoying now
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I DNF at 32% for 118 pages the FMC keeps alluding to secrets but doesn’t share them. She is fully aware of being a crappy mother due to making her child learn how to survive from dangerous men hunting her down, but can’t let go. The MMC is the father and she tells him at the end of day 1 even though she says she didn’t tell him to protect the daughter. I call bullsh** on that because if I believe 💯 I’m doing the right thing and it’s for my child safety he’d have to find out a different way. The moment she realized there is no safer place for her child, them secrets should have come out. Now if it was from the narrative of just her it may have made the book tolerable. ( I’m not a huge fan of stubborn and lack of communication. Miscommunication is also questionable as a troupe). I decided to DNF this book because I can tell the secret is going to DRAG and it’s not going to be worth it in the end.
Listen, I read the whole thing. Pretty quickly too. But I was angry reading most of the time because Eva was so frustrating. I know that if she told the truth right away the story would be resolved and over BUT it was so frustrating. She also kept saying what a horrible mother she was but repeating her previous actions. It was too much. Adriano deserves better. But I’m also weirdly invested in this toxic mafia family.
I almost forgot So yes, I was mostly angry hate reading.
I was so drawn in by all the post I’ve seen about this book on social media and after reading the first two chapters I was excited they were right but I was wrong. This book is very repetitive. Him - “ tell me what you know” Her “I can’t you don’t understand.” Through 65 percent of the book. I hate giving books bad reviews but this book could’ve been cut down and would’ve been great.
He found her alive, with the daughter she hid from him.
Eva has spent four years running from the mafia, the Bratva, and the man she never stops loving. She builds her life around survival, keeping her daughter hidden and safe. But when the past catches up, the only person standing between Eva and death is Adriano.
Adriano doesn’t know what cuts deeper, finding Eva alive or realizing she chose to let him grieve. Then he sees the little girl clinging to her side, and rage turns into something sharper. Eva is the mother of his child, and the one person he can’t forgive or release.
Back under Dante protection, Eva is trapped between old secrets and threats. Adriano wants answers, his family wants proof she isn’t still a traitor, and Ivan Vasiliev wants to pull her back into the role she escaped. Every touch carries history, punishment, hunger, and hope.
But love doesn’t erase betrayal. Eva’s silence cuts deeper, and Adriano’s protection starts to feel like possession. When fear drives her to run again, he follows, and what’s left between them becomes darker and harder to deny.
Eva moves from fear-driven secrecy and survival guilt into a woman ready to face what she did, what was done to her, and what she still wants. Adriano starts as a wounded, possessive man ruled by grief and betrayal, then becomes someone capable of seeing the fear beneath her choices. Their relationship shifts from rage, mistrust, and punishing desire into a volatile second chance built on confession, protection, forgiveness, and need.
An ultra-steamy, dark, second chance, secret baby, mafia romance filled with betrayal, forced proximity, possession, survival, and hard-won forgiveness. It’s about love under pressure, trust after deception, family loyalty, power, guilt, and the choices people make when fear becomes a way of life.
The Elevator Pitch: A woman who faked her death to save her child is dragged back into the arms of the mafia enforcer who once loved her, mourned her, and now wants answers. Their daughter becomes the fragile heart between them, forcing old betrayal, buried desire, and brutal loyalty into the same locked room. As enemies close in, love has to prove whether it can survive secrets built for survival.

This was painful to read... Once again, another Dante sibling is forced to face the brutal realities of being part of a mafia family: the wars, the enemies, the betrayal, the impossible choices… Adriano Dante made my heart ache. He didn’t deserve what happened to him: first believing Eva died, then discovering she’s alive, and on top of that learning he has a daughter (I always think a child makes the story even better). That pain was felt throughout the entire story. Four years after Eva faked her death while pregnant, Adriano finds her during a brutal Bratva attack, and the story never slows down after that. The tension, the longing, the betrayal, the fear, the emotional chaos between them… intense. Adriano is an enforcer: possessive, protective, and the kind of man who would burn the world down for his family, while Eva is emotional, messy, and constantly forced into impossible choices to protect Mirabella. She’s a mother, and mothers stop thinking rationally when their child is in danger. What hurt the most was that Adriano allowed himself to love her again without ever fully trusting her, especially with the secrets she’s still hiding that could destroy everything between them forever. Their relationship was built on angst, passion, heartbreak, safety mixed with distrust, and lingering betrayal… but at the center of everything was their daughter and the fact that they would choose her above anyone and anything else. The twists never stopped, and the danger was constant. Another emotional, fast-paced, heart-melting installment from Ajme Williams. I loved it. And as usual, Ajme saved the best for last because I already know Alessandro’s book is going to be great. He’s been such an arrogant, hypocritical prick throughout these books… and I can’t wait to see him get exactly what he deserves.
Fighting for his Illusion of Forever - Eva had just about resigned herself to her fate when she looked up and saw the person who saved her was the last person she expected to see. Adriano was hesitant about the accuracy of the received information about Eva, but his decision to check it out turned out to be the right one, as he arrived to find her in a dangerous situation. Even though Adriano tried to keep Eva at arms length as he didn’t really trust her, his willpower didn’t hold for long, especially after she uttered a statement that shook h8m to the core.
However, Adriano’s happiness was short lived when he discovered Eva had disappeared again and this time taken something she never should have, so he did everything to bring her back, but this time he maintained a distance from her. Unfortunately, not long after Eva settled into her new normal, she was kidnapped by the man who she had been running from, but Adriano’s attempt to rescue her didn’t go as planned.
Whilst Eva was unsure of her relationship with Adriano, she still took a risk to warn him about a betrayal and an act that ensured his safety, which led to them getting another chance to build the life they previously missed out on. This gripping romance story is an addictive addition to the Dante Dynasty series, where I watched the characters struggle emotionally with internal conflict, but the strong pull towards each other took them on a difficult rollercoaster ride. I was unable to take a break from the moment I started reading the book and I can say without a shadow of doubt, that every second spent reading this book was worthwhile.

ok...so my first book by this author, I think I jumped into the middle of a series (I have a habit of doing that) but oh well. Here's my thoughts...
What I liked...
* Adriano...this man had the patience of a saint! He gave Eva so many chances to be honest, so, so many chances. He was so understanding and patient, in fact I think he mollycoddled her! However he was a decent man, he instantly accepted his daughter, and was a wonderful father!
* Eva...now I'm very conflicted...I did like Eva, BUT this woman drove me insane!!! Her internal monologue's were so boring and her thoughts flip-flopped with each sentence. She gave me a headache. The secret went on way, way, way to long...and it wasn't even enjoyable or intriguing to the reader, as the reader guessed almost at the beginning of the book.
* Mirabella...the star of this book! A fairy princess indeed...a tiny little 3 year old, a toddler really. And already been through so much!
* Some ok spice.
* A HEA! (hard fought)
What I didn't like as much...
* The internal monologues were BOORRIINNGG! And far too many and too long.
* The constant back and forth, flipflopping thought's and changing of the mind...no!
* Eva really was a little brain dead and very selfish to continually put her daughters life at risk (unnecessarily)
So...it wasn't a bad book, it started off really strong, got very repetitive and boring, then ended well.
Four years ago I died in a burning car. I was supposed to be free with my daughter. Except now The Bratva are searching for me, I thought I'd got away from all this. What I don't expect as well is being trapped in an alleyway with three Bratva soldiers pointing guns at me. Then one falls then another until I'll three are down. Standing in front of me is the one man I've missed and regretted hurting. Adriano can't believe she's still alive, but she is stood in front of him. Then he hears a child's voice calling mummy. Eva a mother, not only did she safe her own death. But then had a child with someone else. Her betrayal just keeps getting worse. Now he's taking them both back to his home. He'll learn the truth one way or another. The twists and turns in this book just keep coming. Eva constantly hides the truth from Adriano. Can she ever tell him the truth. How will he react when he finds out she also kept him from his daughter. Will Adriano be able to protect them. Who is the biggest enemy. Eva. The Bratva. Or his own brother. No matter how much she tries Eva just keeps making mistakes. But when push comes to shove who will she save. Herself or Adriano. This is a story that really does make you want to shout at Eva about making the right choice. But the next book will be interesting as it's Alessandro's and he is certainly a challenging personality
This is the 3rd story in The Dante Dynasty Series where we find Eva on the run after faking her death four years ago and disappearing and doing what is necessary to protect her and her daughter. Eva was left with no choice years ago by Andriano’s father and she made decisions to survive. Andriano has mourned and turned into a soulless man who takes his position in the family seriously and becomes a ruthless man. When he’s faced with a lead that Eva is alive he takes off only to save her in an alley against 3 Bratva soldiers out to capture her and a little girl. Eva is not given a choice as Andriano brings her back to the mansion to stay. Eva knows she has secrets that she refuses to share but once the truth comes out about him being the father to Mirabella one precious little girl all bets are off. The tragedy forced upon Andriano and his brothers have been brutal so when faced with the Bratva causing them problems they are forced to deal with the past and current dangers in order to survive. Eva makes one bad decision after another all to protect Mirabella and all Andriano needs to do is keep them close to protect them at all cost. This book is part of the Dante Dynasty series, as interconnected standalones. I am really loving the series & can't wait to read more!! 🤩
I loved Eva & Adriano's story... we see a glimpse of Adriano in the previous books about his siblings & I was looking forward to his story. They had known each other 4 years previously & he thought she had died (she did a good job of faking her death, which you find out about in the book), so it was a shock to see her again...
The book is fast paced with great, unexpected plot twists.... the angst, yearning/longing, suspense & their chemistry... it's all so well written. I liked that the book ended differently than the last 2 books (where the main characters were basically forced to move away).
The book is told in dual 1st person POV.
Spice level: 3/5
*Dark mafia romance *interconnected standalone *morally grey characters *second chance *she faked her death & is back now, after running/being in hiding for 4 years *age gap *ends in a HEA *secret baby *she's a single Mom
Thank you to the author (Ajme Williams) & Booksprout for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
Righteous Enforcer pulled me in right away with its emotional intensity and the long‑awaited reveal that Adriano’s lost love is actually alive—and that he has a daughter he never knew about. His journey, his reactions, and the way fatherhood shifts him felt like the strongest part of the book. Adriano has always had his pros and cons throughout the series, and this story continues that pattern in a way that kept me invested.
The female lead, though, didn’t connect with me the way the other wives in Ajme’s universe usually do. She was okay, but compared to the depth, warmth, and personality of the other women in the series, she’s the first one I didn’t really care for. It didn’t ruin the story, but it did make the romance side feel a little uneven.
Still, the plot twists, emotional reveals, and the way Adriano grows kept my attention from start to finish. It’s a solid, engaging read with plenty of the dark‑mafia tension Ajme is known for.
Adriano Dante Eva Santoro
Next up big brother the Don, and his arranged marriage to newly turned 18 year old bride who seems to be able to tame the roughness from Alessandro.

70% of this book made me rage eat! This book was well written and edited but the story made me want to put my my fist through a wall. Its been a long time since I've had such strong emotions about a book, in a bad way. Mirabella was adorable and the MMC was grumpy, alfa, thought his woman died, heart died with her, will NEVER !I've again until he finds out she's alive, saves her from bratva soldiers and discovers she's had his child who he falls in love with immediately. This child has been traumatized by living on the run with her mother who is being constantly hunted and she continues to keep a secret that could set her free and even after being given a safe place she takes the child and runs AGAIN knowing that she's continuing to TRAUMATIZE the child. What burned my britches the most was when she offers to "talk" to the MMC about why the bratva is hunting her but then REFUSES to talk! Anyway I made it through the entire story and I'm starting to heal. Seems like the MMC brother's story might tick me off too so I'll pass. Will I read any more of this author's work? Maybe, but ill have to check with my therapist first.
Eva as a FMC is trash, absolute trash. I so badly wanted to DNF this book but I hung in there and finished. Although I do wish I DNF'd it. Adriano has been annoying in the series, but less so than the big bad Dante Don. However, that being said, he didn't deserve what Eva did to him.
I get that she ran away to protect herself and her unborn child. However, when the past literally catches up to you and you are hiding in an alley fighting for your life, I think it's time to realize you took a wrong turn. She keeps going off on Adriano about how the mafia life isn't what she wants for her daughter, but she was the one who murdered her attacker and her daughter watched. She told him to run but he didn't. The big bad secret she kept was so idiotic because everyone already figured it out. Adriano's dad knew she was playing for the enemy. Adriano and the rest of the family assumed she was working for the Bratva, so I don't understand why she held onto that information so long. Adriano suspected it and still supported/protected her, but it's like Eva couldn't compute it in her head. Adriano deserved so much better and Eva should have actually disappeared somehow.
WORST BOOK I'VE READ IN 2026... and I thought BAD BISHOP WAS BAD!!! Eva is the most annoying FMC I've read... it's ridiculous how the whole book was about "the secret" of her betrayal!!! Omg stooooop!!! I have read everything on this author and I can almost say that she didn't write this... cause it's too annoying...and she doesn't write books like this!!! Alessandro is sooooo irritating and has been since book 1. . But in this book it just got worse!!! I can’t believe i didn't DNF this book and the only reason I gave it three stars it's cause I love this author.. please throw this away and start again..or make changes to it...the whole book was about "tell me why the bratva wants you?" Ughhhhhh soooo annoying...I actually thought it was going to be my favorite of this series and I even bought the hardcover for book 1 of this series... ughhhhh had such high hopes for this book😫😫😫😭😭😭 hopefully Alessandro it's better than this.

Righteous Enforcer is the 3rd book in The Dante Dynasty series that follows Adriano Dante the enforcer of the Dante crime syndicate and Ava Santoro the love of his life who he grieved when he thought she died. For years he's turned his grief into becoming the brutal enforcer he is today. While she felt she had no choice but to fake her own death to not only save her life but the life of her unborn child from not one but two mafia families. Now four years later she's been discovered by one of those families only to be saved by the other and the man she never planned on seeing again when he steps in and saves her life and the 3 year old daughter he never knew he had.
It's a dark, dangerous, second chance mafia romance that's intense action packed suspensefilled rollercoaster ride full of emotions, secrets, betrayals, twist, turns, forgiveness and love. Oh and an adorable 3 year old named Mirabella. I can't wait to see where this series leads next with Alessadro and Isabella’s story.

Book 3 in The Dante Dynasty Series Four years ago, Eva faked her death and vanished to protect her daughter. Forced into impossible choices by Andriano’s father, she did whatever it took to survive. Andriano Dante mourned her loss and became a soulless, ruthless man—completely devoted to his family’s empire. But when a lead reveals Eva is alive, he hunts her down. He finds her just in time—fighting for her life in a dark alley against three Bratva soldiers trying to capture her and a little girl. With no choice, Andriano drags Eva and Mirabella back to the Dante mansion. Eva is determined to keep her secrets buried, especially the truth that Andriano is Mirabella’s father. But once that secret explodes, nothing will ever be the same. As the Bratva closes in and old family tragedies resurface, Eva will make one dangerous decision after another to keep her daughter safe. For Andriano, there’s only one option: keep them both close and protect them at all costs—even if it means war.

🌶3.5/5 🖤Mafia 🖤 Secrets 🖤Second chance I absolutely loved this book! Its been awhile since I couldn't put a book down and had to read it, like my life depended on it!
Eva is on the run from the mafia when she knows she has big secrets to keep from them. Except the one she wants to be furthest from finds her. Adriano had Eva once and cant believe he found her so he knows he will not be letting her go.
Eva was a good fmc, could be a little irritating sometimes keeping her secrets, but overall she was written good. She wasnt weak in any way and even when she saw death she still stayed strong.
Adriano knew the minute he caught up to Eva he wouldn't let her go. Even through tough times of trust, he still loved Eva.
Aside from the characters being good, I truly enjoyed this plot! It was written to keep you entertained and I truly was. The mafia aspect was chefs kiss! Highly recommend if you love mafia with secrets!
I had been waiting for Adriano's book, and it was so worth the wait.
Eva is forced to leave Adriano, while pregnant, because his father found out a secret that could have resulted in her death. But he grants her "grace" by letting her leave, telling her she is not to contact Adriano or the family ever. During the 4-year separation, Adriano has not stopped looking for her and is given a clue when he is questioning a rival soldier.
He finds her and her daughter and brings them back home. His brother the Don, is not happy and is deeply suspicious of her.
Will they find their happily ever after?!? What follows is revealed secrets, past betrayal, trust rebuilt then broken again, kidnapping, rescue, and hard-earned redemption.
If you like the following, this book is definitely for you:
☠️Faked death 🤫Secret baby 💔Heart break 🗡️Betrayal 💕HEA
Righteous Enforcer is the third story in the Dante Dynasty series. It is well-written and very suspenseful.
Eva has faked her own death and is on the run from the mafia. She is trying to protect herself and her daughter. Adriano has been mourning her and has turned into a callous person. He learns that Eva may still be alive and runs to save her. She is in an alley and is being confronted by three mafia soldiers. He saves her and takes her and her daughter to his home for safety.
I loved the twists and turns in Eva and Adriano's story. I loved how strong she was and wanted to protect her daughter. I loved how Adriano wanted to save her. Their chemistry was still so good after time apart. I look forward to the next story from this very talented author.

This book immediately threw me into the deep end and told me to SWIM! Adriano and Eva were chaotic at times but so full of love. Adriano’s depth of forgiveness was TOP TIER (NO cheating!!!) … so top tier at one point I was questioning if this was going to end in a HEA. Cause EVA! EVA GIRL!!! & THAT is where the one star went. Eva stressed me out. At times it felt like we were rounding the same bend time and time again. There was always LOVE & SPICE & mafia lite business… but I was like MA’AM! In the end I loved how Adriano loved Eva and Eva’s dedication to being a mama and getting it right. I enjoyed how Eva redeemed herself and set things straight in the end. They truly are the perfect pair and I was SO happy to see how it all wrapped up and they got their HEA!!!!
Eva never seems to get a break, her and Mirabella have been on the run for sometime and Eva has been closed to losing her life a few time but the the last time a lost Love comes to the rescue and he isn't none too happy because he thought she was dead.So he brings her and her daughter back to the compound to live but his brother the Don says no he doesn't trust her,the brothers both question her why she is on the run, where she has she been hiding but she won't give up her secrets and has a big one,Mirabella is Ariando 's daughter and when he finds out he is hurt not only because she has been hiding but all the time he has lost with fairy princess! This story has greed, lies, secrets and unhappiness but it makes a great story.I have always love Ajme Williams story's and look forward to the Don's and Isabella (the enemy 's) next
She has been running for her life, trying to save herself and her daughter from the evils of the world and the mafia. No matter what she did, you always had to look over your shoulder until they came for her for real. Now she has to survive long enough to rest. What she didn't count on was the one man who could destroy it all. Adriano Dante is the brother with the hardened heart. He lost the love of his life, and now his goal is the family and protecting them at all costs. But what he doesn't realize is that his world is about to be rocked. The woman he thought was dead is there in the flesh, with a secret she kept. Now he has Eva and her daughter under his roof, but her secrets might destroy more than just his family. Can she right the wrongs that happened, or will they destroy her for good?
I have enjoyed all the previous books from this author. This one was almost a DNF for me. The heroine Eva, is the most annoying heroine I have ever come across. The majority of the book was her hemming and hawing unwilling to spit out the secret. It was so frustrating and ridiculous! Frankly I wouldn’t have been upset if a bullet went through her brain since she barely used it. She ruined whatever enjoyment I experienced when Adriano and his daughter appeared. I gave the book a 3 mainly because I was able to finish it plus I did like the author and the MMC.

Eva managed to escape that life by staging her own death, but she wasn’t alone for long — soon after, she had a daughter. Adriano, the family enforcer, was devastated by Eva’s “death,” so when their paths cross again, he’s shocked to discover she’s alive… and raising a little girl he doesn’t know is his.
The story was engaging and felt different from the others in the series, which I appreciated. However, I struggled to connect with the FMC. I found her frustrating at times, and some of her decisions made her come across as weak rather than sympathetic. i was so disappointed in this book and pushed through to the end. Really a huge let down
What a delightful story. We are drawn into the lives of Dante and Eva. Dante is the family's guardian and is shocked by Eva's death. Eva wanted to escape that life and pretended to be dead, until a few years later when she is cornered and Dante comes to her rescue. Now all the secrets, grief, lies, and betrayal that have been committed come to the surface. Can they both seize this second chance, and what if Dante finds out that the little girl is his daughter? Their journey to a happy ending is not without danger, but with the romance, it is certainly worth reading their story.

Righteous Enforcer by Ajme Williams is the mesmerizing story of Adriano and Eva. She’s been gone for four years and he hasn’t been taking it well. But, now new information has come to light…and things aren’t as they seem. This story is filled with deception, intrigue, secrets, lies, betrayal, danger, and a hopeless romance that can never be…
Loved both of these characters! Adriano, who never got over his great love. Eva, who will protect those she loves…at all costs. Neither is willing to look beyond what they see…This story was fantastic!!!
Eva is on the run from the mafia and the Bratva. She was supposedly killed in a car accident four years ago. She has her little girl Mirabella with her when Adriano Dante, the enforcer for the mafia family finds them. He was destroyed when he thought Eva was dead, now he will find out all the secrets Eva has been hiding for such a long time. Eva was given no choice but to run as Adriano's father threatened to kill her and their unborn daughter Mirabella. A real page turner with plenty of suspense, steam and murder.
