I think I actually liked this one more than the first book. I wasn’t a big fan of the path Serena chose before Mavros was taken, but I understand it was necessary for the story. I’m really glad Luna’s situation was resolved, and I’m very curious about what comes next—maybe Morana’s story, or the trio’s and Sloane’s. Either way, I’m confident whatever the author chooses will be a success.
The story picks up a year after the events of Envy, with Mavros struggling to control the violent beast inside him through underground cage fighting, where he brutally kills men with dark pasts selected by Morana. As the story unfolds, we see that he loves Serena, but he tries to keep her at a distance, convinced that his life is too dangerous for the peace she has fought so hard to build. Meanwhile, Serena is rebuilding herself and is attending school and working as Mavros’s tattoo apprentice.
The tension between them eventually reaches a breaking point, and they give in to their attraction, but their happiness is shattered when Mavros’s father, Lazar Sokolov, resurfaces out of prison and is determined to take revenge on his son and the Seven.
As Lazar’s plan unfolds, we learn that Serena’s long-lost brother, Jude, has been working undercover and has ties to the FBI. After multiple twists, turns, and betrayals, Lazar is ultimately taken down by Serena herself.
The story closes on a note of healing and strengthened bonds, with Mavros and Serena moving into the Sokolov Manor, transforming a place of pain into their own sanctuary.

This series so far has been what I’ve needed. I’m not sure if it is marked as a standalone but ❌❌ no highly encourage reading the first book in the series. I read the first book a while ago and even I wished I was able to read them back to back.
It feels like you lose a little momentum if you don’t. I was still able to follow but I feel like I didn’t get the full impact. Love wrath and seeing more of the family but I did feel like we missed out on some intimate parts between them and her healing journey. He automatically switched from stay away from her to I love her. Wish we could have a little more of there relationship building.
The ending seemed like a loose end. I know there is going to be more books, but I would have liked a little more closure for this couple. The ending was a bit unfulfilling.
But otherwise the book was a great read, exactly what I expected. I love Wrath so much and Serena is such an inspiring woman. Love her fire

Dark, spicy, dangerous, unhinged - all things to describe both this book and its main characters. The insta love caught me a bit off guard, but let’s be real…Serena and Mavros have been through way too much in their backstories that they deserve an instant connection and HEA.
Serena is learning to heal from the abuse she endured after being kidnapped as a child and the only man’s touch she can stand is Mavros. He’s the embodiment of wrath, not someone to typically invoke “safe” feelings. Yet Serena craves his presence.
Every time he melts for her or calls her his Little Sun, I swoon. The spice was dialed way up and the suspense even higher as we count down to the release of Mavros’s father from prison.
Loved getting to see glimpses at the dynamics between some of the future couples throughout this book. Honestly, I found myself craving a whole book on Serena’s brother by the end!!
Highly recommend for those who love Lola King and deranged MMCs, but please read your trigger warnings!!

I had absolutely no idea what was happening in this book and I read the first one only a few months ago. It was so confusing and in my opinion could have easily been remedied had the author provided some refresher material and explained what was going on a little better. It had a good premise and great spice, but so frustratingly confusing as well.

Mavros is the only man Serena is comfortable with after being saved from her childhood spent being tr@ffick€d. She’s his tattoo apprentice and proposes he help her overcome her intimacy issues. Add in that his Russian mafia dad is about to be released from prison and we get the same crazy that was in book one.
