She decided, after much persuasion from both her friends and especially her husband to pursue her dream of one day publishing her own book!

So after much deliberation (and nagging from him indoors), her first book Steeling my Haart due for release March 2015!

I was given this book for my honest review

Fortuitous the meaning is happening by chance. As we go through our lives most of us have come to learn that going down within the path of life some of us think our paths are laid before us by a much stronger force that is beyond our control. As we also see that each of us as individuals decides which fork in our paths we such take. The fork in our path of life is a definite meaning of the word we seek here. A mishap by us lost at some point from our past and somehow we undescribably without knowledge come upon the path in which we were meant to follow as our heart takes the lead and not our minds. Subconsciously we all know that the mind plays a miraculous trick on our hearts to teach us a lesson we so need to learn in order to get on the path back to where we began.

Charlie-sweet, genuine

Emma-pretty and broken

To the author: I really wanted to write the ultimate review for this most awesomeness of a book but at the same time giving anything away is not whom I am. So I chose this author’s note instead with an opening that which you will understand and hopefully will have your readers wanting.

You have taken such a path within your pages that portrays not only the mishaps of life but the determination of the characters that with such devastation that life can come to a whole with our strong belief in one’s self. The paths that these characters embarked upon did not crumble them but only made them stronger as individuals. Though within each path comes determination and that there is a rainbow that can shine brightly after the storm if we only believe. Forging on with life within each path and the forks that we take can not only lead us back to the path but back to those that mean the dearest to our hearts.

Did I mention the sex in this read is sensual and loving?

To the readers: Sit back and enjoy

Happy Reading

Overall Rating I give this book 5 brilliant stars. WOW!!! This book was amazing! I thought it was very interesting and I LOVED the characters. The beginning of the book was intense and I was gasping. Charlie saves Emma’s life and what does he do? He just walks away. My heart broke for Emma. She moves to New York to start her life. Something tragic happens and she has to move back home. What happens when she is back at home? The author does a fantastic job pulling me into the story and really feeling what is happening. I really did feel a connection between Emma and Charlie. Great Read and I recommend this book. I can’t wait to read more from this author!

The ending not expected with that epilogue but a heartbreaking and beautiful tale. Emma and Charlie fall in love young. Charlie gave up a future to help his mom and felt he wasn’t worthy of Emma. To get her to go make someting of himself he walks away. Unfortunately he walks away after he saves her life and they have one of the most tenderest and sweet intimate moments. Fast forward eight years and neither are happy. Tragedy strikes Emma’s world and she moves home and Charlie is there. So much has changed for both of them but one thing is evident and that is that they still love each other. This is their sad heartbreaking tale of their time apart and the beautfiul sweet tale of how they come together again. Each character in the story is great. Charlie is sweet and kind and the love for Emma that he has is evident in every word and action he takes. They are apart for so long but you can see in everything he did she wasn’t far from his heart or thoughts. Emma was miserable alone but out of sheer determination to show Charlie she carried one. Bruce is one of her clients and a hoot. Love him and Lou those two are perfect together and it is them that get her to see she is miserable. When trajedy turns her world around she needs to readjust and those two are there all the way. They are not only a adorable couple but two of the sweetest and kindest characters in the book. Addie and Leo were precious children. I love how Addie glummed onto Charlie and how Bruce and Lou became her uncles. After all she went through to be so carefree is truly sweet and wonderful to see and when her and Leo took to Emma and love her with everything was precious. Charlie with the children were so amazing. He truly is a kind and caring man. I tried not to like him but I couldn’t. He had good intentions and was so caring that you just can’t not like him. The story is one of lost love and finding one another again. Of forgiveness and kindness, friendship and family. WE see two people find their way to each other and accept one another for who they are and love unconditionally. A beautiful sweet tale of love family and friendship that leaves a smile on your face and the ending has you wondering what is going on and what is next or is there danger lurking on the horizon??

This book is a tender accounting of innocent love that was lost, but never forgotten, and finally found again.

Charlie and Emma are high school sweethearts. Both characters are facing monumental decisions regarding their futures, when tragedy strikes. Charlie is forced to make the greatest sacrifice in the aftermath of this event. Emma is left to deal with the fall-out of his actions, feeling betrayed and abandoned.

We find Emma eight years later with a prestigious job, but still clinging precariously to her love for Charlie. She has never been able to reconcile her feelings for him, or to relinquish her hope that he might one day find her. An unexpected turn of events, brings two wonderful new friends into her world, who are there to help her through the next harrowing chapter in her life. Tragedy strikes again for Emma, forcing her to solidify her tentative plans for returning home. Once she has returned to her parents house, she soon finds that Charlie is still living in town. Confronted with the reality of seeing him again, she realizes that she never stopped loving him. Charlie is shocked, yet hopeful when he finds that Emma is back home. He had always hoped that he would find her again one day, and prove to her that he is now worthy of her love. The two finally reveal to each other all their hurt, loss, pain, hope, dreams, and love for each other. With touching emotion, they vow to have the life together that they always should have had.

I didn't want to reveal any spoiler for this book. I loved the interactions with the all the characters in this story. They were very real, and each had a distinct personality. Charlie was a true hero, and embodies all of the characteristics that represent what a reader hungers for in a leading male. There was also plenty of surprises along the way, to keep the story moving. The reunion between the two main characters, and the ending of the book, will have you reaching for the Kleenex.

Excellent debut novel, by a promising new writer. I will be looking forward to future releases from this author. Well done, Lizzy Roberts!

Charlie is a high school dropout who works in his uncles auto shop. He grew up in a trailer park and has had to take care of his mother. To say he doesn't think highly of himself is an understatement. Charlie's girlfriend is Emma and she couldn't be more opposite. She was top of her class and could be or do anything. But she chose to stay in her small town and be with Charlie. That is until he and her family persuaded her to apply for college. The day she received her acceptance letter, a significant tornado storm came threw. That night not only did Charlie save her live, but he also made love to her, taking her virginity. The next morning, everything changes as Charlie leaves Emma so she can peruse a brighter future.

8 years later, Emma has everything that Charlie wanted for her- a great job, enough money, and a nice home. But she is lonely and can't stop thinking about her one true love. She does however find a place of comfort,a place that reminds her of home at a near by restaurant. Strangely enough, it takes Vegas for her to realize she needs to follow her own dreams and stopping doing what others (aka Charlie) want her to do.

The story twists and turns and ends with a love struck happy ending. The proposal was amazing, I just loved it! But I must say, the end of the book left me with goosebumps! I was going to give the book a solid three stars, but the ending was not on,y unexpected but added an entirely new element to the book. After reading the book, you can't help but look back on everything that happened and see it in a new way.

I still think Charlie got off to easy with what he pulled. But it's hard to stay upset at him, his character is to sweet.

The grammatical errors were frustrating and at times really difficult to get past. The book seemed to have more than enough filler information that I didn't think added much to the story/plot. Regardless, the concept of the book was fun and entertaining.

4 Stars!

This is the debut of Lizzy Roberts and I have to say that I really enjoyed it.

Emma & Charlie were a couple in high school, after graduation she stayed in Glen Springs to work for a law office. Charlie didn’t finish high school, he worked for his uncle as a mechanic, to support his ill mother.

Charlie knew that he cannot offer Emma the life she deserves and when she applied for Harvard Law School (and got in) he decided to let her go, so she can live the life she deserved and not be hold back because of him.

After 8 years Emma is still not over Charlie, but life has other plans for Emma.
After a life changing accident, she is not sure if she ever will have the time for a man in her life.

The story building was a little slow at the beginning and at the end a little kitschy (a few to many “I love you’s”) but overall I loved it.

The Epilog was (not so) unexpected, can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Cute story with sad parts and an interesting Epilog...

I love discovering new authors. Lizzy created a world filled with heartache, longing and ultimately love! I loved this story of new, young love. Charlie and Emma were perfect young lovers torn apart for silly reasons. I won't go into more because I don't want to give away any of this beautiful story. I felt as though I got lost in this story as I was reading it. Lizzy's characters we created in a way that you felt as though you know them really well and love being a part of their lives. She has beautiful prose and I would watch this author because I think she is going places. Great start Lizzy!

Book is about second chance of love. We meet young Charlie and Emma at the beginning of the book. Charlie makes the hardest decision of his life and leaves his true love so she can become successful in her life. After long years they meet again.
Story is full of surprise. Book is well-written. Both characters interesting and well develop.
I missed the interaction Emma and Charlie through the story. Charlie appears only in the last few chapters. If you like classic l sweet tale of love family and friendship than this is the book you should read.

Was a cute quick read Charlie is from the wrong side of the tracts working for his uncle and taking care of his mother. He's datting Emma who's smart and sexy. She's willing to give it all up to stay with Charlie and on the last night there's a tornado and Charlie save Emma's life and takes her virginity before leaving her to peruse a better life. Emma got everything Charlie wanted but isn't happy with how her life turned out and is not doing what everyone else wants anymore and is fighting for the love of her life.

What a beautiful and heartfelt story. Steeling My Haart follows Emma after she had her heart broken and works to find herself.

Emma's life is saved on one fateful night when tragedy and devastation strikes her home town. Her saving grace was her boyfriend and love of her life Charlie, but after a magical night she wakes up to find Charlie gone. Eight years later, Emma is working on moving forward with her life and making a name for herself, never expecting to see Charlie again.

I loved how even though there was romance in this book, it wasn't the focal point of this story. This story was a heartfelt story about finding yourself, and taking on things you never expected. With the help of Bruce and other friends Emma realizes what she has been missing out on in life and sees a new future for herself, then things get uprooted again for Emma and her life changes once more.

I really loved getting to read Emma's story and my heart hurt for her multiple times in this book. She is a strong character but has had a lot of bad thrown at her throughout the years. Each bad thing that has happened though has happened for a reason and only makes her a better person.

Charlie is unlike any character I've read, he is sweet, endearing, and has a heart of gold. The things he has done to prove himself to Emma as so heartwarming and beautiful, that if he wasn't a fictional character, I'd snatch him up immediately. Never once has he stopped loving Emma, and he isn't the boy who left her years ago. I absolutely loved his character and the love he has for Emma.

This story is strong and gripped me from the very beginning. I was unable to put this book down and was so in love with this story that I was sad to see it end. This is a beautiful story and I love Bruce, Emma, and Charlie and everyone else in this book. The ending of this book is amazing, and the epilogue.. WOW! I need to know what happens next even though there is an HEA!

This is the perfect book to one-click and curl up in bed and read all day. It is an emotional and beautiful story that really gripped at my heart-strings!

Such a great story. This is one of those books that has you hooked from the start and I struggled to put it down. The characters were very likeable and the storyline was different and intriguing. I found myself trying to work things out when a few twists were thrown in. The ending...wow! I had a feeling things weren't as they seem but my goodness me that was epic!
There was a lot of spelling mistakes, even simple ones like form instead of from, he instead of she, asleep instead of sleep. A lot of grammar mistakes were present too, from the way sentences were phrased to the over-using of certain words. Sometimes I had to read things more than once to try and figure out what the author was meaning to say. Without all these mistakes I would've given this at least 4 stars because it really is a good story.

I wanted to so badly love this book because it involved my home state of Oklahoma. On some levels, the book was accurate as to life here with tornadoes and just how beautiful it can be if you get past the misconception that we still travel by covered wagons. Then the book would do a 180 and the characters would use words not commonly used here, let alone the U.S. The storyline of lily and Gary I kinda saw coming so I'm curious as to where that is going to go. I'm happy the outcome and both Charlie and Emma stepping up when they needed to. Overall I liked it just felt a lil rush. *ARC received by publisher via netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
