True, I'm in the hospital waking up from a coma, but my loving parents and adorable boyfriend, Wyatt, are here by my side. It's weird that I don't remember them—thanks, amnesia! Wyatt's an amazing person. He's a Big Brother, volunteers at soup kitchens, delivers food to the hungry—your basic angel. Your basic filled-out-in-all-the-right-places, naughty-thoughts-inducing angel, that is.
Might be the perfect lie…
In fact, the more I get to know Wyatt the harder it is to believe he's my boyfriend. The more I find out about my life before the accident, the more I don't like who I used to be. I can't understand what a guy like that—kind, considerate, generous—would see in a girl like me.
I don't know what's worse, living in the darkness of amnesia or discovering the despicable person I once was. But I've got to figure out if I have what it takes to be the person Wyatt truly deserves—before I lose my heart as well as my memories.

Olivia is a fun loving twenty-year-old UCLA student who loves the good life. She has a loving family, a best friend who always stands by her named Chloe, and a hot boyfriend Wyatt who is one of the few actual nice guys out there. But her life seems somehow too good to be true. As Olivia delves into her past, will she like what she finds?
Olivia Christakos and Her Second First Time is a standard chick lit amnesia tale. Pretty woman wakes up and doesn’t remember who she is. However, that doesn’t mean that this is not a good read. The characters are all well fleshed out and the pacing is spot on. Chapters alternate between the past and present, introducing us to the new and old Olivia in pieces. It is interesting to see the two different times and how the people in Olivia’s life intersect. This is a cute story that, while being formulaic, still manages to throw a few twists and turns in.

Olivia Christakos and Her Second First Time is a standalone new adult (NA) novel by Dani Irons, with the title character experiencing amnesia after an accident and trying to get answers to her many questions about her life is much harder than she thought possible, especially when the people around her are somewhat evasive. The fact is, when she was Liv, Olivia wasn't exactly the nicest person and I fully understand why her losing her memory would make other people think that it was the perfect opportunity, not just for her, but for everyone concerned to have a fresh start of sorts. Of course, Olivia is the only one who doesn't remember and everyone else does, so starting over can often become even more difficult, especially when it's hard to let go of Olivia's past mistakes and transgressions.
Honestly, I found it difficult to like Olivia, with or without the memory loss. The flashbacks didn't paint her as a particularly likable person either, especially when it came to Wyatt, and I couldn't fathom why this poor guy would have even a teeny tiny bit of positive emotion toward her. When details of what she did to her family, especially her parents, were revealed, I was floored, but there is a saying in my country that children may turn their backs on their parents but parents can never turn their backs on their children. Of course, I don't think that's necessarily one hundred percent true but that's a discussion for another time. Let's just say that Olivia did have a handful of good moments and she does redeem herself, but I certainly wouldn't vote for her as my favorite fictional heroine for 2015.
Even with my not liking Olivia a whole lot, the story itself was interesting and we get to have a better understanding of the history between Olivia and Wyatt because of the use of the flashbacks. The story makes you wonder what you would do in the situation the characters found themselves in. If you were Olivia, would you still want to discover the truth about yourself, even if it would mean learning that you were not-so-nice? Would you take the same drastic and desperate measures the people around Olivia took in order to start anew? One of the surprises in the story is the "mastermind" behind what happened after Olivia regained consciousness from her coma. I was so not expecting that revelation! All in all, Olivia Christakos and Her Second First Time was a good book and gets four out of five stars. ♥
I was excited to read this book, because I thought it had a fun premise. Olivia Chistakos' life is a mess. She's pushed away her friends and family, and can't get over the boy who is all kinds of wrong for her. That's why, when a freak accident leaves her with amnesia, her parents embrace the opportunity for a clean slate. For the daughter they always wanted. And so, with an elaborate rouse straight out of the "While You Were Sleeping" handbook, they give Olivia a new life, and more importantly, a new boyfriend.
Fun, right?
Unfortunately, not. See, Wyatt, the fake boyfriend, is Olivia's childhood friend, except not, as we learn through flashbacks, because she's pretty much terrible to him from day one, and once she gets a boyfriend in high school, she forgets about him entirely. I kept on waiting for a connection. Something. Anything! But instead, all I saw Wyatt as was pathetic for pinning over a person who treated him like garbage for years. On top of that, he's creepy. When Olivia first wakes with amnesia, and her friends and family convince her that Wyatt is her boyfriend, she's uncomfortable. She doesn't like him. She asks for some space. And he says NO.
My sympathy for Olivia and her situation is short lived, because she's a mean, selfish, and nearly irredeemable person. Every time you think she's about to learn something or grow, she'd blame everyone around her and completely ignore how awful she is. It was frustrating, and not at all in an entertaining way.
I really wanted to like this book, but unfortunately the characters were weak and inconsistent, and the plot meandered with little purpose like the author was winging it the entire time, picking up loose ends here and there before dropping them again. With more editing to tighten the story, Olivia Chrstakos could have been a fun read, but falls woefully short.

I received a copy of this story from Net Galley. Yay books!
Spoilers possible ahead...
Let me start by saying...at first I didn't know who I hated most. Old Olivia. Or Olivia's family/her best friend/Wyatt. I say Old Olivia because that's how she refers to herself once she wakes up from a coma and has amnesia. Old Olivia was a major bitch. But...that doesn't explain why her family/best friend/Wyatt lie to her about her relationship with Wyatt, because they think it will do her some good to have a second chance.
Her having a second chance would do her some good. But does the lying really, REALLY help? No, because what's gonna happen when the truth comes out?
Thankfully, it got better. Way better. And Olivia grew up. Well, she kind of had too, but still. She grew up. Thankfully all the lying didn't matter in the end, mainly because her old memories came back while the new ones went away. And I'm really glad things worked out with her and Wyatt in the end. She needed him. Of course if she hasn't been such a bitch growing up, she could had been with him much sooner and saved herself the trouble with the major douchebag she dated for all that time. Just saying
Loved it! It was a great summer read. It kept my interest throughout. Towards the end it was impossible to put down. Relatable characters and a suspenseful plot. I thought the story flowed nicely and wasn't at all confusing, like some had said in their reviews. I did, however, agree with the reviwers that Oliva was not a character that you could find much sympathy for, but I kinda liked that about this book. Not all main characters have to be liked. In fact, it is refreshing.
The plot was a bit more complex than the description would have you think. I would say it's a little more Lifetime movie meets Drive Me Crazy. Either way, it's an entertaining and funny book. I couldn't wait to see how it would all work out for Olivia and Wyatt. I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
I read this book in draft form and absolutely loved it! Dani Irons has a fresh, fun voice, and the mystery kept me guessing. If you like amnesia, complex family dynamics, and/or geeky love interests, do not miss this one. A great new adult debut.
Very cute summer read! This belongs in everyone's beach bag for a light and fun romance read. Readers will love toescape with great characters and cute story!

When we first meet Olivia it's the night of her life changing accident. She's out with friends, not entirely enjoying herself but holding onto the hope that she'll get a chance to see the guy she's been chasing after for years when an unexpected series of events leads to her being hit by a truck and landing in the hospital, waking up several days later with amnesia, unable to remember anything about herself or the people in her life.
I had high hopes for this book. The summary sounded interesting and though the amnesia plot point is pretty tropey, I was willing to overlook it, not entirely expecting that the book I'd read wouldn't hold the mystery that the summary lead me to believe that it did. But as it turned out, the truth of Olivia's life was outlined in the very first chapter. No plot twists here.
The Characters:
There was so much promise in Wyatt. I thought I'd finally found the male protagonist that I'd always dreamed of. The initial introductions painted him as the guy that'd break the mold of the typical male protagonist, and I was excited to learn more about him. And then just as quickly, all of the wheels fell off.
With the way that the book went back and forth between the past and the present, I was expecting, hoping, to learn something positive about Olivia and Wyatt through their history, but the opposite was true. It solidified that Olivia was awful to Wyatt and a very unlikable character and that Wyatt, despite his merits and supportive nature, was a liar. Everyone in Olivia's life was a liar and there was no getting passed that, for me.
I just couldn't find it in myself to warm up to any of these characters. They were across the board unlikable, with Olivia leading the pack.
There was also a strange shift that happened with Wyatt in the last quarter of the book. It was as though the author forgot how to write him and he became desperate and adopted too many "nice guy" tendencies, more or less telling Olivia that he "deserved" a chance with her simply because he'd been in love with her for so long and knew he would treat her better than James did. Those last twelve chapters of the book effectively killed any soft spot I may have formed for Wyatt.
The Plot:
I have nothing at all against tropes. Amnesia has been used as a plot device plenty of times before and going into this book I really didn't have any issues with the overdone idea that "Character loses memory, forgets who they are" because I had truly expected that the plot would carry the story in a direction I wasn't expecting.
The entire time I read this book I was trying to figure out the plot twist that never came. I was waiting for the unique spin on the amnesia trope that didn't actually exist. And like I said earlier, the truth of the book was outlined right in the first chapter, which only left characters that lied to a girl who'd just been in a horrified accident and tried to excuse their lies by telling Olivia that it was "for her own good."
Once that realization became clear to me, I just couldn't find it in myself to like these characters at all. The lies were too great, and the fact that Olivia's best friend, the boy that'd loved her since third grade, and even Olivia's eight year old sister went along with it was just too much for me to believe or forgive. It felt despicable at times what they did to her, and that really made the plot and the story as a whole suffer.
In the end, everything felt forced and contrived to wrap the book up and end it with Olivia and Wyatt together and since the rest of the book spent more time hammering home how awful Olivia had been to Wyatt than developing a slow burn or hidden crush (the few, small mentions of jealousy or blushing simply weren't enough), I could never truly understand what it was that he saw in her and what it was that kept him holding on to his feelings for her which made the ending of the book fall completely flat.

I received this book off NetGalley for an honest review, Thank you.
The book started out promising but quickly got really confusing. There were times when I was trying to grasp the story. It certainly has a major twist. But then it all clicked into place.
Plot: Olivia is a twenty-year-old student, whose life is a mess. After being involved in an accident which leaves her with amnesia, she's left feeling alone, confused and lost. She can't remember anything previous to her accident. Her friends and family take advantage of the situation, believing she can make right all her wrong doings. Olivia is left desperately seeking answers.
Characters: Olivia is a wild child, she's selfish, but I kinda felt sorry for her, even though she made a lot of mistakes and messed a lot of people around, the way she was a treated was wrong.
Wyatt: I have a love-hate relationship with Wyatt. He's a sweet, caring, charitable man, who wants the girl (love him). But he also took advantage of her when she was at her lowest (dislike).
Overall: Even though the storyline was confusing. There was a lot of suspense and was an enjoyable read.
This one took a while to get into - the flashbacks and the whole story seemed a little disjointed at first, which is in part because I didn't reread the blurb because I started the book, so I wasn't quite sure what it was about. I believe that you shouldn't need to know the synopsis before you start a book though - you should be able to just pick it up, start at page one, and be drawn in by the words, finding out what it's about as you go. That didn't quite work with Olivia, but the more I read, the more engrossed I was. It's an interesting idea - waking up with amnesia and trying to find yourself again, but other people are getting in the way of that, trying to present you with the person they think you should be instead of the person you are. It's not the most original story, but it is well done. The characters develop well and the flashbacks, which I'm not usually a fan of, make a lot of sense as the story progresses. It's a New Adult college romance with a difference, and it was a welcome change from the standard stuff that's flooding the market.
I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. 3.5 stars Olivia Christakos is a very mean individual hung up on her ex boyfriend. It is only after she looses memory post accident she gains a bit of personality and actually is nice to people. Although the heroine is less the then likeable at the beginning of the book I have grown to like her and started to root for her as I was reading. In the end I did enjoy this book and I really liked the ending so 3.5 stars:) good summer read
When Olivia wakes from a coma, her family hope to rewrite her life and have her fall in love with Wyatt. She's not a particularly likeable character- but the reawakening after a coma is an interesting premise and I can think that some people would welcome starting a fresh page in their life. Enjoyable read.

3.5 stars…..
Olivia Christakos and Her Second First Time by Dani Irons is a decent new adult romance. I didn’t love it and I didn’t hate it. It was just average for me. The plot was good and had potential but the characters are what ultimately caused me not to love it.
Olivia Christakos and Her Second First Time is about Olivia, a spoiled twenty year old that lives her life one party after another and allows herself to be used by a man she loves, and Wyatt, the well rounded, good boy who has always had a secret love for Olivia. What can I say about these characters? Even when Olivia has amnesia, the entire story revolves around her taking advantage of Wyatt’s friendship and Wyatt allowing himself to be a doormat. Olivia is not nice to Wyatt at all….until the very end of the book when she decides she wants a relationship with him.
The premise of the story had a lot of potential but I feel that the way it was executed didn’t do the story justice. Also, the dynamics between the characters did little in helping develop the story. The entire story is more or less about Olivia treating everyone in her life poorly, with the exception of James who treats her poorly, and them allowing her to. The only characters who stands up to Olivia is her mother. There is only so much of that type of dynamic you can take before enough is enough. It isn’t until the very end of the book that you really seem any sort of growth from Olivia and by then, I was just sick of her.
I liked the idea of this book more than the actual book. I felt the difference between Olivia pre and post amnesia was too extreme - and therefore the lies too far fetched to be believable...
I liked the time hops; but the big question is what's in it for Wyatt? I was waiting for something big to happen between him and Olivia in the past to explain his current predicament, but nothing seemed enough. Despite the explanation near the end I still did not buy into it...
I was in awe of my confusion about this book. I liked the characters, but was irritated by the way Olivia was portrayed. Umm she was not a victim here and her underlying gratingly over-dramatic ways really made me dislike her. Wyatt was underdeveloped in my eyes. Yes, I had flashbacks to how we got here, but seriously, he could have had more depth for my liking. Perhaps then I could give it the more stars that I had kind of hoped for in this book.
I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review from Net Galley.
Olivia had been hit by a truck and had went in a coma. When she woke several days later she woke up to her family and her boyfriend Wyatt and he is one of the nice guys. Nut she had amnesia and she couldn’t remember them. Also her life seems too good to be true. She was a twenty year old UCLA student who liked the good life. When Olivia was Liv she wasn’t the nicest person she was mean and selfish.. Liv had pushed away her friends and parents. Wyatt was actually Olivia’s fake boyfriend who was a childhood friend. Liv was pretty horrible to Wyatt right from the beginning. Wyatt had wanted and loved Olivia since the third grade even with the way she had treated him so bad. Everyone is thinking that Olivia losing her memory was an opportunity for everyone to have a fresh start per sei. Olivia calls herself Old Olivia once she wakes up. This book just wasn’t really for me. It just wasn’t right to lie to someone when she wakes up from a coma I don’t care the reasoning. Even her eight year old sister was involved what kind of example does that show a young girl. Just couldn’t get passed that. Also I didn’t really like going back and forth between the past and the present. I also really couldn’t connect with Olivia. I have no idea why Wyatt loved Olivia for so long with how she treated him and then was willing to lie and make believe he was her boyfriend. Then when Olivia wakes up and asks for space Wyatt says no. I just also got frustrated with Olivia. This just wasn’t for me.
