Elena Woods has done it again! Another brilliantly written mafia, dark romance I just could not put down! The way the characters are portrayed and captured is amazing, the emotion and feelings that she manages to get across from her characters is just top tier.
The slow burn, tension, obsession, possession and all consuming love between the main characters plays out so well and had me rushing to find out how it ends. So messy and admittedly a few red flags, but I’m always willing to overlook those for a morally grey MMC who would do just about anything to protect his ‘little ghost’🤭
Absolutely loved Erin and Matteo, the back and forth between them, the ‘will they, won’t they?’ throughout the book had me rooting for their love story. Loved the element of secret identities and both knowing their way around computers and hacking which ultimately makes them such a powerful duo together. Also, adored that we still got to see snippets of Lily and Dark in this instalment and the progression of their relationship🥺 So sweet that Lily was able to give Erin advice after going through the same thing with D at the beginning of their relationship.
I seriously cannot wait for what the next instalment brings!

I felt for Erin when she was rejected—cause that still emotionally hurt, no matter how hard she tried to be brave about things and hold back. And it was good to see Matteo’s vulnerable side come through when it came to Erin as well.
I felt the story was very much a romantic suspense with the action intertwined, and I enjoyed that.

I’ve been anticipating this book ever since Your Monster, which was actually my very first ARC read.
Now for My Ghost…
Erin and Matteo… the tension 🔥
The flashback to the wedding? Yes please, Teo 🤤
Matteo is on a mission to find the “ghost” getting in the way of his work, not realising it’s her… yet!
The relationship between Erin and Matteo is packed with banter, chemistry, and so much fire 🔥 The spice definitely delivers 🌶️
As the story unfolds, Erin starts to see a completely different side to Matteo, and honestly, it’s melting. Their relationship really starts to grow, and Matteo’s obsession with her becomes impossible to ignore. He doesn’t want anyone near her — not even her work friends — so Erin finds a way to take her lunch breaks where he can’t interfere… which ends badly 👀
I don’t want to give too much away, but the ending was perfect. And that sneak peek at the next Boston Blood instalment, My Sunfall? I already need it immediately.

I don't even know where to begin. The dynamic between the characters is absolute perfection. My heart hurt for Erin throughout the story since she believed she had no one in her corner for her to rely on. Matteo the cold, possessive mafia enforcer who tried to stay away and couldn't. Matteo is definitely the perfect guy for Erin. This book definitely had me kicking, screaming and giggling. I love that throughout the book you get to see the relationships with the other couples in the series and glimpses of the future. I can't wait to read more by Elena Woods she has quickly become one of my favorite authors.

This is a well written dark mafia romance. The characters were written well and their personalities fleshed out. I loved the storyline. This is a great story.

I absolutely loved the first book of this series. Ever since I was excited to see what happened with Erin and Matteo. A little ways into the book Matteo is described sitting at his desk and wear black rimmed glasses. I lost it I was a puddle from that point on. The banter and angst was perfect. The want, need and obsession. Definitely a 5 star read! If you havent started this series run right now to it. Can't wait to see what comes next!!!

Wow! Amazing book! You got to read it. I went through every emotion and the book had a choke hold on me read it in a day. There is so much excitement, passion, heat, fear, everything you want all wrapped up nicely for you in this book. Can’t wait for more.

If you thought the first book was addictive, **My Ghost** somehow raises the stakes even higher. This is another brilliantly written dark mafia romance that completely consumed me from beginning to end. Once I started reading, there was absolutely no chance of putting it down. The perfect balance of romance, suspense, danger, and emotion had me glued to every single page.
This time the spotlight falls on Erin and Matteo, and I was completely obsessed with them. Their relationship is everything I love in a romance—messy, complicated, emotionally charged, and filled with enough unresolved tension to make my heart ache. The slow burn is absolutely exquisite. Every interaction, every stolen glance, every confrontation is dripping with chemistry, obsession, longing, and all the feelings they've spent so long trying to deny. The "will they, won't they?" dynamic had me hooked, and I found myself desperately rooting for these two to finally stop fighting what was so obviously inevitable.
Matteo is exactly the kind of morally grey mafia hero I can't resist. He's ruthless, possessive, protective, and willing to cross every line for the woman he loves. Yes, there are more than a few red flags, but in the world of dark romance, those flaws are exactly what make him so captivating. Watching his hard exterior slowly crack whenever Erin was involved revealed a surprisingly vulnerable side that made him even more compelling. Beneath all the violence and control is a man whose entire world quietly revolves around his "little ghost."
Erin was such a refreshing heroine. By day she's a compassionate woman working in a veterinary clinic, but behind the scenes she's an incredibly talented hacker using her skills to dismantle trafficking networks operating on the dark web. I absolutely loved this part of her character. She isn't simply waiting to be rescued—she's intelligent, capable, and dangerous in her own right. The secret identity element added another layer of suspense, especially knowing that Matteo has been hunting the mysterious hacker disrupting mafia operations without realizing she's the very woman he's been trying so hard to forget.
Their history made every encounter hit that much harder. Erin's heartbreak after Matteo rejected her was genuinely painful to witness, and even as she tried to move forward, you could feel those emotional scars lingering beneath the surface. At the same time, seeing Matteo wrestle with his own feelings and finally allow himself moments of vulnerability gave their relationship so much emotional depth. Their journey isn't easy, but that's exactly what made every breakthrough feel so rewarding.
I also loved how seamlessly the romance blended with the suspense. The action never overshadowed the emotional development, and the emotional moments never slowed the pace. Instead, the danger surrounding them heightened every confession, every touch, and every difficult decision. The hacking, secret identities, mafia politics, and constant tension created an exciting backdrop while allowing the romance to remain the heart of the story.
One of my favorite parts was catching up with Lily and Dark. I always love when a series continues to invest in previous couples, and seeing how far they've come was incredibly satisfying. Lily being able to support Erin with advice because she'd once stood in the exact same position felt like such a full-circle moment and added a wonderful sense of found family to the story.
The author continues to excel at creating deeply emotional characters who feel real despite the dangerous world they inhabit. Every emotion—love, heartbreak, fear, obsession, guilt, hope—is written so vividly that it's impossible not to become completely invested in their journey. The pacing is excellent, the tension never lets up, and every chapter left me needing just one more.

This book is exactly why Dark Romance is my favorite genre 😭 The obsession, the tension, the possessiveness, the emotional chaos… it had everything. Matteo Di Rossi is the type of MMC who is calm, cold, composed, ruthless, and completely indifferent to everyone around him… until the FMC enters his world and suddenly he turns into an absolute beast. He only sees her. Only wants her. Only thinks about protecting and possessing her, even while pretending he feels nothing at all.
And Erin? I loved her so much 😭 She’s smart, beautiful, determined, emotional, insecure in such a real way, and despite constantly feeling like she isn’t worthy of love, she still knows what she wants. She’s a veterinarian by day and secretly a hacker dismantling trafficking organizations by night, which already made her such an interesting heroine. She’s also Lily’s best friend from Your Monster (book 1), and her dynamic with Matteo was EVERYTHING.
They hooked up once before, and when she comes back into his world, she tries so hard to get a reaction out of him 😭 teasing him, kissing him, provoking him… and he keeps rejecting her. He calls her a spoiled brat playing with fire and acts like he wants nothing to do with her because he refuses to drag her into his dangerous life. Meanwhile, Erin is sitting there feeling humiliated, rejected, and heartbroken, believing he truly doesn’t want her back. And yes, she gets jealous too 😭 which honestly made everything even messier and better. This almost felt like a slow-burn second chance romance at first… until everything exploded and burned the world, and us with it 😭
But the truth is Matteo is completely gone for her. Underneath all that cold control is a dangerously obsessive, deranged man barely holding himself together. The second he discovers who Erin really is and forces her to work with him, everything spirals out of control. Suddenly they’re fighting on the same side while constantly clashing with each other, and the tension between them becomes absolutely insane. And OH MY GOD 😭 I was genuinely shocked at some parts. Sitting there with my mouth open in disbelief. Matteo completely lost his mind for a second, blinded by obsession, rage, possessiveness, and fear. Some of his actions genuinely upset me, and I kept waiting for him to redeem himself… but once Erin was in danger, that man would burn the entire world for her.
For less than 300 pages, this book was PACKED with events, tension, danger, chaos, banter, emotional intensity, and chemistry without ever feeling too overwhelming. Something was always happening, and the story never slowed down. The banter between them was so funny too 😭 and every time his cologne was mentioned, I swear I could smell it myself. The chemistry and steamy scenes were next level. I thought I was used to dark romance spice by now, but apparently not because Elena Woods shocked me 😭 …and he has a kink club???
I honestly cannot believe this is only Elena Woods’ second book because she writes like someone who has been doing this forever. She’s talented, unhinged (crazy!!), and clearly understands exactly what dark romance readers want. And honestly? We all need a little craziness in our lives.
Highly recommended if you want a dark romance full of obsession, high tension, emotional damage, possessive energy, shocking moments, fun, witty banter, and an MMC who completely loses his mind over his woman and makes you sit there thinking: "What the fuck did I just read?" 😭

In My Ghost, we step back into the Boston Blood series. Erin, Lilly’s best friend/sister is persuaded to move to the city and help Lilly at her vet clinic. Matteo the self-controlled enforcer and mastermind behind their cyber security. tolerates her for Lilly and D’s sake...or so we think. Erin and Matteo have a shared secret, one night of passion. Erin also has a secret only Lilly knows; she is a self-taught hacker who uses her skills to take down human trafficking rings. Matteo is on a mission to take down a huge trafficking ring called Manticore. Erin is ready to risk it all for another night of “fun”, but Matteo doesn’t want any distractions as he is hunting down a Ghost. He may or may not need their help to find a way into Manticore. Does Matteo find this Ghost? Why is Matteo strung so tight around Erin? Is he also hiding something? Can Matteo resist temptation? Does Erin get her night of fun?

My ghost is medium paced book told in dual POV. The contemporary world is easy to digest, is plot heavy and involves likeable characters. Y’all I am a true sucker for mafia romance and I DEVOURED THIS STORY!!!!! I could literally feel Erin and Matteo’s yearning coming off the pages. The obsession, possessiveness and angst is drool worthy. The miscommunication, hyper independence, FEAR of rejection, feelings of loneliness and being suffocated were spot on for these characters and how the story unfolds. I couldn’t get enough. Bravo Elena on such a well written story. Thank you for the opportunity to step back in the Boston Blood world. I am patiently (but not so patiently) waiting to read more!

My ghost is medium paced book told in dual POV. The contemporary world is easy to digest, is plot heavy and involves likeable characters. Y’all I am a true sucker for mafia romance and I DEVOURED THIS STORY!!!!! I could literally feel Erin and Matteo’s yearning coming off the pages. The obsession, possessiveness and angst is drool worthy. The miscommunication, hyper independence, FEAR of rejection, feelings of loneliness and being suffocated were spot on for these characters and how the story unfolds. I couldn’t get enough. Bravo Elena on such a well written story. Thank you for the opportunity to step back in the Boston Blood world. I am patiently (but not so patiently) waiting to read more!

This is my second book of Elena's that I was lucky enough to get an ARC of, and I don't think she will ever disappoint. I sat down and read this entire book in 4 hours because I couldn't put it down once I got started. Books like this remind me of how much I love a dark mafia romance.
Matteo was one of my favorite side characters from "Your Monster", so I had high hopes for this book, and I was not disappointed in the slightest! He is possessive, smart, and actually quite funny, especially when you get to read his POV.
Now onto my main girl, Erin. It is so rare that you actually get an FMC that is smart and strong, but you actually get to see her put in the work. Matteo is this big badass enforcer/computer wiz. But Erin is just a better hacker in every way when she takes her time. It was just such a nice change to see and made me like her character more.
Let's talk about the CHEMISTRY between Erin and Matteo... Absolutely phenomenal. No notes.

This book was packed with fire, angst, longing, secrets, hidden emotions, and so many misunderstandings. From the very first page, I was completely captivated and ended up finishing it in a single day. Afterwards, I immediately went back to reread My Monster and parts of My Ghost again because I just couldn’t let these characters go yet. It was such an emotional rollercoaster, and honestly, I’m mostly sad it’s over because now I have to wait far too long for the next book… sigh.
Erin and Matteo’s dynamic was perfectly chaotic. They clashed in every possible way, yet their chemistry was absolutely explosive. Both of them kept their emotions — and parts of their identities — carefully hidden, which only added to the tension between them.

My Ghost completely consumed me from beginning to end. Elena Woods delivered the perfect combination of dark romance, suspense, action, and heart, and I could not put this book down.
Erin was such a refreshing heroine. I loved that she was intelligent, independent, and fearless in her own way. By day she is caring for animals, but by night she is taking on dangerous trafficking networks, making her one of the most unique female characters I have read in a long time. She was strong without losing her vulnerability, and I found myself rooting for her every step of the way.
Matteo Di Rossi was everything I love in a mafia hero. He is cold, dangerous, possessive, and completely obsessed once he realizes what Erin means to him. Watching his carefully controlled world unravel because of one woman was incredibly satisfying. Beneath all his rough edges was a man willing to do absolutely anything to protect the woman he loved.
The chemistry between Erin and Matteo was intense from the start and only grew stronger as the story unfolded. Their banter, tension, and emotional connection made every scene between them unforgettable. I especially loved how they challenged each other while working together to bring down a terrifying enemy.

I have been so excited to read Matteo's story and return to this world after book one, and it absolutely did not disappoint😭🖤
Erin was such a standout FMC. Intelligent, fearless, and living a double life as a veterinarian and a secretly unhinged hacker taking down trafficking networks and crime rings? Yeah, she was an instant favourite🤌🔥
Then we have Matteo. We already knew from book one what kind of man he was cold, dangerous, and a mafia enforcer. Add in possessive, obsessive, and completely unhinged levels of protective, and I was sold. The man has his entire world controlled and carefully planned out... until Erin happens🤭🖤
And their dynamic? EVERYTHING. Their encounter after a certain mistake led to some of the most delicious tension ever. The chemistry was off the charts, the passion was consuming, and the banter was top-tier. I loved how they constantly challenged each other and refused to back down. Together, they were an absolute force😮💨🔥
Now let's talk about the plot because OMG. The suspense had me glued to my Kindle, constantly telling myself "just one more chapter" before staying up way later than planned. The twists kept me guessing, the danger felt real, and the stakes were incredibly high.

My Ghost was an excellent read that let you see the much darker side of Mafia Romance than usual. The possession and obsession of the MMC was here in spades, and it almost bordered non-consensual at times. BUT you could tell through the author's excellent way with words and descriptors that the FMC did in fact want the MMC, she was just hesitant.
What I found interesting was that even though Matteo was the enforcer, he was also the lead in cyber security. The combination of both FMC and MMC hacking and looking for the "bad guys" was such an interesting one that I hadn't seen thus far. I think I liked this standalone book 2 even more than book 1!
"You think I can just let you go?" he hisses. his breath hot against my ear. "I can't sleep, I can't focus. You've infected every part of me and I'm done pretending I can hold back. I don't even know what I'll do if you keep pushing me. You drive me to insanity."
Matteo was absolutely obsessed with Erin and after some confusion at the beginning, which was written in the most excellent fashion, there was no questioning the lengths he would go for her. I don't know that I have read a MMC who truly was written as this wild and crazy infatuated with his love interest. I hope we see so much more of these two in upcoming books!
For me this was absolute perfection. I wouldn't have changed one thing. I DEVOURED this book like Matteo DEVOURS Erin. Well done!

Wow. I don't even know how to start. This was my first mafia romance, and I think I found a new favorite. I would recommend this book and probably give it a 4.25 or 4.5. If you enjoyed Haunting Adeline or Lights Out, I think you would enjoy this as well.
We love a strong female main character and an obsessed male main character. Erin and Matteo's dynamic kept me on my toes. I never knew if they were going to fight or kiss. So many things happened in less than 300 pages. The story was fast paced, but I never felt lost. I read this in literally three days.
Elena blends dark, obsessive elements with hilarity. I genuinely laughed out loud numerous times, but I also wanted to cry. It takes good writing to accomplish both. The book was so easy to follow but had insane plot twists that I never saw coming. I found myself constantly reaching for my Kindle to keep seeing where the story would take me.

I flew through this book just as quickly as I did the first one, and honestly, I couldn’t put it down.
“My Ghost” delivers everything I loved about the first installment while giving us two characters who completely stole the show. Erin and Matteo’s story is intense, emotional, and utterly addictive from beginning to end.
One of my favorite things about this book was finally getting to know Erin better. She’s brilliant, funny, fiercely loyal, and wonderfully authentic. Watching her navigate love and vulnerability after everything she’s endured made her impossible not to root for. She quickly became one of my favorite heroines in the series.
The chemistry between Erin and Matteo is undeniable. Their relationship is packed with tension, longing, and emotional turmoil that kept me turning pages. Matteo is the ultimate possessive protector, overprotective, assertive, and fiercely devoted in a way that made me completely obsessed. Red flags and all, I loved him.
Beyond the romance, this book balances mystery, danger, and high stakes with fantastic pacing that never slows down. But what I loved most was watching these two become each other’s safe place. Beneath all the chaos and intensity is a beautiful love story about two people who have spent their lives feeling alone and finally finding someone willing to stay.
Overall, “My Ghost” was an addictive and thoroughly enjoyable read. If you love dark mafia romance with compelling characters, plenty of tension, and fiercely devoted love interests, this one absolutely deserves a place on your TBR.

And the way that this ENDED?! Ma'am. Book 3 needs to be ready like tomorrow because I am HOOKED. I need to know, like, with a passion, what happens in the next book. The tension? The hints? I am tempted to read it again to ensure that I am not missing any Easter Eggs hidden in the pages.

The stakes are higher and the spice is spicier. Erin is after a human trafficking ring, and learns the hard way that Matteo is after HER.
There are a ton of things I could say about this book, but I’ll stick to the highlights because that will hopefully get you reading this book faster! ;)
1. The Grumpy x Sunshine trope when your grump is also a mafia enforcer is HOT AF! I loved Matteos’ POV chapters when he was reacting to Erin’s excessive, INTENTIONAL, cheer. She knew it bugged him, and his desire to claim her all the same was fire.
2. I’m a sucker for a hacker story. Erin and Matteo subconsciously bonding over their mutual skills and goals was a really good add to this story!
3. I liked seeing more of Lily and Erin’s relationship in this book! It was a good way to revisit book one without it detracting from Erin’s story!

I originally fell in love with this series because of Lily and Damiano in Your Monster. However, seeing everyone together in this book might have given me a new favorite of the series. The dynamic between all of them and getting to see the future of Lily and Damiano, as well as hints at the future of another couple was absolute perfection.
Erin absolutely broke my heart. Watching her feel like she had no one was devastating. At first, I didn’t understand why Matteo was so mean or why Erin seemed to like it, but by the end I completely understood why he’s the perfect man for her.
The twists in this book had my jaw on the floor, but the love between Erin and Matteo was my favorite part overall. I didn’t think anything could top Lily and Damiano in Your Monster, but this book proved me wrong.
Elena truly knows how to write the perfect men and the damaged women they’re determined to protect and help heal.
Now I just need a novella with Erin and Matteo ASAP because I’m not ready to let them go yet.

Erin is a vet tech by day and a master coder and internet vigilante by night. Her journey hit me hard — especially her fear of rejection and the ache of never feeling chosen. She projects confidence, strength, and capability, but beneath it all she’s carrying wounds that make her feel like she’s not quite enough. Wow!!! This is book 2 in The Boston Blood Series. We follow Matteo and Erins story. And wow is it a story. This book takes you on a roller coaster and you never wanna get off.
Erin is Lilys bff and comes to Boston to help out at the vet bc Dark doesnt want lily to work (ifykyk) 🙃.
Matteo is Darks enforcer and tries everything to push Erin away all while trying to discover who The Ghost is.
The dance between these two are very intense and electric. The Ghost keeps knocking off traffickers and staying under the radar....until they are found out....who unmask The Ghost....what happens next......I cant wait for this series to continue.
