a beautiful - sometimes harrowing - tale, simply written.
I suspect this lively read is based on fact. I hope so!
It is an easy read and one can’t help but feel connected to Nick and Genny.
I look forward to a sequel……….

An ultimate beach read set in the late nineties in the South of France and the Caribbean. Lots of twists and characters you can root for. This book will keep you entertained from the beginning to the end.
Highly recommend it.

A fairly gentle read that really picks up towards the end.
I wanted to read this book as I live on a boat and have visited some of the places mentioned.
It was pretty good at describing the life and conditions on the boat, which is nice for a change.
The romance was sweet and the twist towards the end was satisfying. If you want and romance with some long distance pining and to travel the oceans this one is for you.

I really enjoyed Love Twists and Knots. I loved not only the romance but also watching Genny grow throughout the story. Seeing her gradually become more confident and capable on the yacht was inspiring. I appreciated that the story wasn't just about finding love, it was also about finding yourself and discovering your own strength.
Learning in the author's note that she spent ten years in the South Pacific with her sailor husband made me curious about those experiences. I hope she'll write a novel inspired by that part of her life someday—I would definitely read it!

June 22, 2026An easy reading book with some basic simple humour and cute ancedotes describing the characters in the story. A love story in romantic settings with some mishaps along the way.
For readers who enjoy light, reader-friendly books with classic romance and light adventure, this is, in my view, a good read.
Since I prefer fast-paced political intrigue, this book felt a bit slow and predictable to me, though that is just my personal taste.
Perhaps a deeper plot would have added more punch and mystique to the story.

5-Stars: A romance on the French Riviera that was always their destiny and worth every risk!
The romantic cover promises a romance dreams are made of. ‘Love Twists and Knots’ delivers. I was instantly charmed by the story, which happens to be inspired by the author’s real-life adventure.
Genny has a zest for life she has yet to unleash, and where better to make up for lost time than on the French Rivera with like-minded friends. Genny finds that going after what she wants is very freeing and well overdue. And what she wants, is a romantic triste with Nick, who captains his own classic sailing yacht and could have stepped off the pages of a romance novel.
Rheir hearts recognize each other even if Genny and Nick are meeting for the first time, because the attraction is mutual. An invitation to sail along the Mediterranean Coast is but the prelude to a full-blown all-in romance, as destiny intended.
Unfortunately, it is not ‘smooth-sailing’ for this couple who are clearly meant for each other and planning a future together. Though they bond over their similar likes, love of coastal communities, the sea, and the fulfilling mariner’s life (despite some harrowing experiences), Nick’s past and secrets shake the foundation of their new relationship and invites unscrupulous individuals into their midst.
To save their future, they have to battle the past and survive the present, saying nothing of treacherous waters out at sea.
It is hard to believe, this is the author’s debut novel because Jo-Anne Carriere has the skills of a seasoned writer. Vivid descriptions tapped into the senses and made me feel like I was there. I got to know her main characters and feel their intense love for each other through well-written concise dialogue and witty banter. Her supporting characters came across as likeable, and the villains easy to be suspicious of. The author got the pacing right too. Tension had me on the edge of my seat, and I was grateful for some timely comedic relief. And, the ending was as satisfying as I had hoped.
The author made it an easy read, which can only mean she worked hard to make it that way. The best part, Love Twists and Knots serves up romance with a capital ‘R’, is hopeful, uplifting, and enjoyable. I will read anything that Jo-Anne Carriere publishes in the future. Highly recommended!

Love Twists and Knots is one that will stay in my mind for a long time. It tells the story of love and everything a person goes through in their heart. It reaches into your soul as you read, and you will feel every emotion possible. The story has so many pieces in it and they all will leave you lost in the pages.
This is a perfect beach read!
