The Horizon has barely caught its breath when new orders send it beyond the edge of known space. Intelligence has traced alien technology to its source. What they find is not a ruin. It is not abandoned. And it does not intend to let them leave.
Tara Holt is the only person who can understand the technology bonded to their ship. But it is changing her, quietly and relentlessly. She is their greatest asset. She may also be running out of time.
Far away, an intelligence officer follows a thread connecting a terrorist attack to some of the most powerful people in the Alliance. The trail leads to the Granger Institute, a luxury resort that wears respectability like a mask.
Behind it, criminals set the rules. Strangers who ask the wrong questions disappear.
He has barely stepped through the door before someone tries to make sure he never steps back out.

THE HORIZON & HER CREW SET OFF FOR AN ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE TO GET ANSWERS TO WHY THEY'RE AT WAR
5/07/26 Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2
Echo Flight: Graduation Day book 3 by John Walker is another addition to a very good sci-fi military thriller that will keep you on your toes while the crew of the Horizon head out for their third mission, this time, into the Velaran territory to get answers at archaeological dig site that seems to be the cause or at least a place to start to look for the reasons the Alliance is currently at war. The characters are well written and you'll find yourself at the edge of your seat trying to find out just how they are going to make it out alive with the situations they are thrown into.
In the previous book, John introduced us to Cole Bradt as a new member of Mason's team working as an intelligence officer tracking down who were responsible for all the lives lost on Hamish's Point and to find answers to the alien technology that they were studying. Cole finds himself in deep shit at the luxury resort at Granger Institute trying to track down the man responsible for the loss of lives at Hamish Point and bring him in for questioning. What Cole thought would be an easy job turns into everything but easy.
All along, the young crew of the Horizon find themselves knee deep in trouble on what they thought would be an abandoned archaeological site in enemy territory faced with alien technology that is very much still active and very deadly. Elias, Nora, Rafe, Tanner, Rebecca, Tara, Tanner, Tresa and the rest of the crew of the Horizon have their hands full trying to escape the clutches of the ancient Velaran technology that is doing everything within the power to destroy the Horizon and her crew.
At times this third book in this series is fast paced and full of action and humor but at other times it felt a little lacking in the action, therefore, I had a hard time giving this third book a full five star rating. That being said, this is still a very good military sci-fi and well worth the time spent to read it and I truly look forward to the fourth addition to this series that hopefully will be released soon.
Author should take a college level class in English grammar. Actually a decent high school level grammar class would probably suffice. Or, possibly a decent editor.
