Make it a Double, book 2 in the Pinecrest Ridge Series, isn't a book I would normally pick up. It has two tropes that I typically avoid, virgin and pregnancy, but Amber wrote it. I knew this author wouldn't treat (not knocking anyone's yums, just not for me) it as so many others have; where the woman’s worth is tied to their purity, power imbalance, shame, or fetishized. Instead our fmc, Sawyer decided her own timeline, she had the power and autonomy in her choices. It wasn't a focus of the mmc's, he was just happy to get a 💋 kiss. As for the pregnancy trope, it wasn't used to trap the characters together, it wasn't a fix to a HEA, and it didn't shift the focus of the two characters falling in love. It did knock Sawyer's life off her normal routine, a little stolen agency but Sawyer comes to realize how stuck she was and that you need a little strife to get the good things in life. Sawyer knew nothing more than working hard, relying on yourself and really not getting ahead. She was surrounded by those that loved her, but she never wanted to rely on anyone despite her always being the first to offer help. Finally, she started taking help, seeing she had friends and her world started to grow. When Beckett came back into her life she was in a better place and more open to trust. It was a nice character arc, watching a young woman grow into someone who was confident and had options, and realize not everyone leaves when it gets toughs. Beckett, what can I say about the greenest flag mmc. He is everything his father hoped he wouldn't be and that is fantastic. A few examples: getting his license, so he could sneak off and visit his sister to enlisting our favourite slutty moustache-wearing grump, Duke, to set up Duke's Daddy Day Camp™️ and keeping track of all Sawyer's cravings. Ooh and poor, poor Beckett, he died a thousand deaths. He definitely loved his baby momma 🥵. Olivia may have had to force her friendship on Sawyer at first, but it was one that helped build Sawyer. I loved all the guys bonding, the teasing between Lukas, Grady and Duke and how easily they slot Beckett into their family. One of my favourite tropes is found family and this group of friends is defintiely a strong knit family. They will go to bat for you. I need to get a few t-shirts made, Gram was rocking some side splitting one liners. I also need to find cherry 🍒 7up, I have never had it. Now I pariently wait for Lukas and Tatum's story in book 3. Patiently, yes. And you know your limits, so read the author's content warnings Thank you Amber Palmer for this ARC. I received an advanced reader copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
BECKETT YOU GIANT GREEN FLAG OF A MAN YOU!!!! OH YOU GOSH YOU HEARTTHROB😭
This book has me in a damn CHOKEHOLD. I will forever be thinking about these two🥹
Sawyer. My girl. I absolutely love her so much. She's such a sweetheart. I love how she was the country girl our man Beckett was the City guy🤭 Their INSTANT banter was chefs freaking kiss. She was thinking he was just another guy coming into the bar to flirt, but he had eyes for her😏 Her showing him around a small town and him trying things hes never had warmed my heart. He was willing to do and try anything just to see her smile🥹 With one night leading to a giant surprise. Sawyer found out she was going to be a mommy...alone, after Beckett was back in the city. Knowing how scared she was broke my heart, even with her bestfriend as a support system 😭 I just wanted to give her the biggest hug. She truly was the best mommy🥹
Beckett our guyyyyyy!!! After a fun night, he heads back into the city. Not thinking he was ever meant for a small town but couldnt stop thinking about the girl in it. A job for his dad in that very small town, he couldnt pass up the opportunity to go. Them meeting again had me GAGGED, OH MY GOSH 😭😭😭 Sawyer was so nervous to tell him he was the father , but our guy stepped UP. Truly a freaking man. Watching him fall in love every day with her, watching their baby grow and giving into her cravings.....i was down bad. He was so patient with her. So loving and careful. Knowing his dad was pressuring him to finish the job, he had done everything to get around it to spend his life with his little family. AND HE REALLY DID THAT. The way he built a life for them had ME CRYING😭😭😭
I just love these two so much and feel these two are truly soulmates. In real life they would be with eachother for a lifetime and beyond.🧡
Thank you Amber for the earc🥹

I really enjoyed this one. This checked off all my favorite tropes and everything I love to read - accidental pregnancy, rich x poor MCs, she's a virgin, one night stand, found family.
We meet Sawyer, the small town bartender who is down on her luck and billionnaire property developer Beckett, who is in said small town for a quick recon trip. These two connected, had a great time hanging out and ended up sleeping together. A few months after, she discovered she's pregnant with no way to contact him. She carried on her pregnancy until Beckett comes back a few months later and discovers her pregnancy. The book from there is their journey of finding their footing with each other, navigating this change, getting to know one another in a deeper level and more. I love how Beckett stepped up the plate and really took care of Sawyer in a way that made a difference in her life. Love how he made it easier for her in small and big gestures. Gotta love a man down bad for his woman and who is ready to splurge and spoil her. I adore Sawyer and her personality - she's someone I can totally relate to. I love the found family aspect in this book for both leads. All side characters in this book were amazing and supportive friends/family - Duke and Olivia, Cleo and Grady, Lukas, Tatum, the kiddos. They all have been awesome cheerleaders and support system for them including adding humor and banter to the story as well. I also like that the conflict ended up to be a little bit more subdued as I am assuming it will be continuing to the next one. That made it truly a low stakes and easy read.
Overall, this book is a great follow up to the first one. I am so excited to read the next book. Amazing love story and characters!
6 ⭐️ read! First and foremost THANK YOU to @amberpalmerauthor and @literaryloveontheline for allowing me to be an ARC reader for another incredible book by our girl! I truly don’t know that Amber can write a book i won’t fall head over boots for! I know I’m in the minority here but i LOVEEEEEE an accidental/surprise pregnancy trope and this one was absolutely no exception! I swooned so hard for Beckett and Sawyers story! Like to the point i need to make myself a small town bucket list and hope my husband of 16 years will understand 😂 Beckett is seriously GOALS when it comes to a supportive partner and a dad that steps up when others wouldn’t! From day ONE of him finding out he went above and beyond to not pressure sawyer into anything but making sure she was loved and supported! Then there is Sawyer who is a testament to every strong willed, hard headed woman out there! A women with a life where she was the one who put everyone before herself she found her match in Beckett and allowing him to care for her was just so good! Who we need to talk more about?! GRAMS! I hope when i grow up i am as freaking cool as grams and pray im just as sassy! Guys honestly, September 10th. Don’t sleep on this book! This series is just so good and the little sneak peak we got for the next one has me so giddy i could DIE #bookworm #bookish #bookstagrammer #bookaholic #readingcomunity
I don’t think there’s a trope Amber could write that I wouldn’t love.
This was an accidental pregnancy (my least fav trope) and still it was somehow was a five star read. She actually got me to ENJOY the trope. What is this witchcraft? Sorcery?
The MMCs she writes genuinely make me swoon and Beckett is no different. A lil curly haired rich boy and his puppy dog eyes like PLEASE SPARE ME I’m already in love.
Jokes aside I loved this book. The meaning put into these books is so incredible. Each character struggles with their own sense of self and purpose in a way that makes them so human and so real. The feel of the book is raw and emotional and so so beautiful. Every book Amber has written has made me cry and to me that’s a sign that these books have a deeper meaning to them that surpasses any trope that I could outline or dissect.
I love these contemporary romances with all my heart and find so much connection with them when reading. These books deal with real issues, real trauma, and real grief to the point where it actually has helped me to sit back and dissect my own feelings on similar matters and this book is probably the one that has done that the most for me. Which is truly the most impactful thing I can really say. I never wanted it to end.
I feel I am in my accidental pregnancy era, but add in that she was a v!rgin?! Yes please. Add in the rich city boy, and a small town girl who is trying to keep her head above water, and you have a hit.
Our girl Sawyer, had never had it easy in life, and her guard is all the way up. Seeing Beckett come back and do everything he could to knock her walls down was a total chef's kiss. She definitely makes him work for it, and it was so refreshing that there wasn't just a white knight who swooped in and fixed all the problems.
Beckett was a busy man, trying to escape the clutches of his father, while helping the small town of Pinecrest, that he unexpectedly found himself falling for, as well as the bartender who carried his baby. Their dynamic was sweet and fiesty, and their opposites just fit together perfectly.
The found family is a crucial part of this book, and seeing some of our favorite characters was the best. Duke and Olivia care for Sawyer so much, and the friend group dynamics are so funny. I cannot wait to see where this series goes, and to see Sawyer and Beckett's baby as they grow!
Thank you so so much to Amber and team for the early copy to read!
OMG Amber will have you swooning with Sawyer and Beckett’s story in Make It A Double, Book 2 in the Pinecrest Ridge series.
What was supposed to be one night of fun at the fair turns into a prize they will never forget with a baby on the way.
I absolutely adored Sawyer and Beckett’s banter and there was no denying the spark between them from the start. Though it might not have been what they had in mind, Beckett will do whatever it takes to show Sawyer he is not going anywhere.
The way he takes care of her but knows also when to let her stand on her own two feet is so swoonworthy. I loved reading them being open and vulnerable with each other especially about their fears but they are able to talk each other through them.
The found family in this series is so good and I loved getting to see them bring Beckett into the fold. Grams is a hoot! I cannot wait to see what happens next in the series!
Sawyer is a bartender who never saw a future outside of Pinecrest. Beckett is a city boy working under his father. The two have a passionate night together only to have a surprise pregnancy affect both of their lives.
Oh my sweet Sawyer. I want to give her a hug and tell her she matters and that things get better. I love that Beckett was the one to show her a good time.
It was definitely a slow burn as they navigate this unexpected pregnancy. They didn’t even know each other all that much before the news. It was a lot of getting to know each other and realizing they both grew up so differently from each other and they are total opposites.
Beckett’s character is definitely swoon worthy.
I love the side plot and all the side characters as well. Sawyer’s grandma is a hoot. Duke and Olivia’s girls were adorable as always.
I’m personally declaring this as Amber’s best book yet. SO good. SO sweet. SO protective.
Beckett is everything. And more. Good down to the bone. Hard working. Loyal. The perfect MMC for Sawyer.
After getting pregnant after a one night stand, poor Sawyer is SO blue. I love how as soon as Beckett finds out, he steps up for his new little family.
Something I love about Amber’s story telling ability is that the characters get to know each other and fall in LOVE. They connect and work together. Making each book feel so magical.
I ADORED this book and kept crying about how sweet it was the whole time. I love a good found family and good support system for the MMC’s.
I LOVE an accidental pregnancy book, and I think Make It a Double by Amber Palmers is the 3rd or 4th one I’ve read this year 😂🫣
Sawyer is the bartender at Frank’s, so we’ve already seen her pop up in Amber’s other books. She has a one-night stand with billionaire Beckett… which obviously results in a pregnancy
Honestly, I loved this book and this whole series! I’m genuinely going to be so sad when it’s over. Amber writes the kind of books you can just pick up and reread over and over again, and I will never get tired of them.
I know the accidental pregnancy trope isn’t for everyone, but it’s honestly one of my favourites! Give me the drama, the tension, the pregnancy moments. I’m here for it all.
Now I’m so ready to see what Amber does with Lucas and Tate’s story!
Thank you so so much to Amber and her team for the e-Arc. Sawyer and Beckett are now in first place for my all time favorite Amber Palmer couple! This had some of my favorite tropes and I was already so excited to read this being that it’s an Amber Palmer story but this exceeded and surpassed all of my expectations. The billionaire and the bartender are an unlikely match but their chemistry was off the charts! I loved how Beckett embraced being a future dad and did everything he could for Sawyer, even making sure her cravings were always satisfied. Daddy Beckett was HOTT and I could not put this book down and did not want it to end! One of the easiest 5 star reviews I have given!
Oh I loved everything about this book. I didn’t think it could get any better than one more round but somehow Amber never ceases to amaze me😭 Beckett and sawyer were the most perfect pair and their little one just completed their perfect family. And don’t get me started on the babies name…🥹 UGH MY HEART ❤️ Also lowkey can I be grams when I’m older? She honestly was such a moment and I really just vibed with her. Such an easy 5 stars. I read it this whole thing in two sittings because I couldn’t put it down
I love an accidental pregnancy trope, and this book knocked it out of the park.
First things first, I am obsessed with Sawyer. She is so relatable, I can't tell you how many times I thought to myself "girl, same" while reading this book. She's funny, sassy, and independent as hell. Her journey was a beautiful one to see. Sawyer has spent her life just getting by, doing what she can just to make ends meet. Meeting Beckett changed everything. She found love, family, and confidence.
Beckett was an absolute sweetheart and he deserves love and peace. and also, fuck his dad. I loved everything about this man. He is a walking green flag.
I loved everything about this book, the found family, the banter, the emotions, the spice. An absolute 5 star read.
This was such a good read wow!! I am a sucker for an accidental pregnancy book and I really enjoyed this one. I loved seeing Sawyer’s growth throughout the book but it felt like Beckett was lacking somewhere. Don’t get me wrong I loved him but also felt like I couldn’t get a read on him because he was so hot and cold in the beginning. The foreshadowing for book 3 was top tier and I’m so excited to read more from Amber!!!
Thank you to Amber and her team for the advanced copy!
This was such a sweet and cute story! It was perfect and I've loved it so so much. Sawyer and Beckett are such a perfect couple!!! I am not always a fan of the accidental pregnancy trope but in this case it's so great! It's not super high heat but the one night stand scene is VERY good! Also I enjoyed that there wasn't major drama... I felt that this didn't need it and I was pleasantly surprised when Amber went in that direction. Now, I really can't wait for book 3!!!!!
Reading a book that has a one night stand and an accidental pregnancy can be a dicey proposition, but I feel like Palmer pulled it off well. I am really enjoying time spent in Pinecrest Ridge! I loved Duke and Olivia's story, and I am surprised at how much I enjoyed the non-douchy billionaire (Beckett) and the small town bartender (Sawyer). I am even more excited to read about Tatum and Lukas now. 😍 4.25🌟
When the city boy meets the small town bartender and gets her pregnant from a one night stand… you will want to Make It A Double. Amber Palmer. You wrote Sawyer and Beckett, but you did something magical as well. The ways that you wrote about how their lifestyles were so different but the heart and tenderness of this story made me cry. How Beckett took care of Sawyer and how she needed someone to show her how she needed to look after herself too. Beckett Montgomery. This sweet loving man who stepped up. He’s a cinnamon roll in a world that could have turned him to stone. I adore Amber’s writing and I cannot wait for the next book.
The perfect accidental pregnancy! Sawyer and Beckett have a steamy ONS and she sneaks out in the morning. Fast forward to her finding out she’s pregnant and him who has not stopped thinking about her when he’s sent back to Pinecrest by his ahole dad. I could not put this down while waiting for Beckett to find out he’s going to be a dad. The two have a slow burn and I loved it!
As someone who doesn't love the accidental pregnancy trope... I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! I'm officially in love with Beckett Montgomery. The man is walking green flag. The biggest green flag.
This one starts off with the cutest meet-cute, first date and one night stand. After Beckett left to go back to the big city, he was missing her like crazy. and after they were reunited, he never once left her side. Just proving how perfect he is.
I loved the balance of family drama, high emotions, trust/relationship building, swoony romance.
This is the first book I've read from this author and now I must go back and read her others. I am a sucker for an accidental pregnancy, especially when the guy is a giant green flag! Beckett kept showing up for Sawyer in every way that mattered! The spice was spicing and I loved their banter! Can't wait for the next book in this series, I'm going to go back and read book one!
