i really liked how grounded sawyer felt, especially compared to beckett's completely different world. the billionaire x small-town bartender setup could've easily made her feel swallowed by his money and lifestyle, but she still felt like her own person. and disappearing before breakfast after losing your virginity to a hot stranger??? honestly iconic.

no awkward morning-after conversation. no "so what are we?" no complimentary continental breakfast. just 🏃🏻‍♀️💨

sir has money, presumably access to every luxury known to mankind, and yet his primary occupation is apparently yearning. finally. a billionaire contributing something useful to society. and once he discovers the pregnancy??? the shift from random rich city boy to that's my baby and that's my girl territory is precisely why accidental pregnancy continues to evade conviction in my courtroom.

you thought this was a one-night stand? cute. now discuss co-parenting. you thought you'd never see him again? adorable. here he comes. you thought you could avoid having feelings? THE FETUS WOULD LIKE A WORD.

there's something delicious about two people being forced to figure out what they actually mean to each other when there is no longer an easy clean break. and beckett finding out he's about to become someone's dad after sawyer has already spent months processing this without him gave the reunion so much emotional weight. the man came looking for the woman who ghosted him and accidentally unlocked the fatherhood expansion pack.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ i also really enjoyed the small-town atmosphere. there's something about dropping a rich city man who explicitly hates small towns into a place where everyone has roots and history that scratches my brain perfectly.

watching the town slowly become tangled up with beckett's future worked really well for me because it makes his relationship with sawyer about more than attraction. he's not just falling for a woman. he's being pulled toward an entire life he never expected himself to want.

which is RUDELY cute. especially considering the man started out hating small towns. baby, you're one casserole away from attending community events voluntarily. it's over.

then six months later they're suddenly standing in front of each other with approximately seventeen thousand expectations and a baby on the way. and underneath all of that is the fact that he never forgot her. THAT'S THE GOOD SHIT.

beckett spending those months obsessing over the girl who vanished before breakfast while sawyer is back in pinecrest living with the physical evidence of their night together is such an insane imbalance of information. he's somewhere thinking, "i wonder if i'll ever see her again. meanwhile sawyer:🤰🏻

well. the tenderness also got me more than i expected. there are these little moments where their dynamic shifts from obligation and circumstance into genuine wanting, and suddenly it isn't just "we're having a baby together." it's i want you here. it's whatever you want, sugar.

disgusting. i hate when fictional people develop emotional intimacy in front of me. have some decorum.


₊˚꒰ ⟡ ˙ vii. why 4 stars? ₊˚⊹ ꒱
‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ this was SUCH a fun read and clearly the accidental pregnancy trope and i remain in a committed relationship despite public opposition.

i loved the premise, i loved sawyer and beckett's completely different worlds colliding, and i especially loved watching beckett go from the mysterious rich guy from one night to someone trying to build an actual future with her. their softer moments were probably my favorite.

but while i was invested and had a really good time, i wasn't quite at the level where i needed to be medically separated from these characters after finishing. you know the distinction.

four stars: awww, i love them 🥹

five stars: i have changed my legal address to their bedroom wall and will be observing them through the drywall.

there were also moments where i wanted a little more room for certain emotional beats to marinate. because the setup itself has SO much emotional potential, especially with the six-month separation, sawyer navigating the pregnancy, beckett suddenly discovering he's going to be a father, and the enormous difference between their lives.

sometimes i wanted the story to grab those feelings by the ankles and SHAKE THEM. give me another serving of yearning. put beckett in the emotional crockpot. leave him in there for eight hours on low.

BUT. while i understand what the six-month separation does for the story, beckett spending six months obsessing over the girl who vanished after their one-night stand is objectively delicious, i also kind of hated that we lost those six months.

SIX MONTHS??? that's half a pregnancy, babes.

sawyer is over there finding out she's pregnant, processing the fact that she's having a baby with a man she barely knows, going through months of pregnancy, and building this entire new version of her life... meanwhile beckett is somewhere going: damn. wonder where that girl went.

SIR. YOUR CHILD HAS DEVELOPED FINGERPRINTS. and i know the separation is necessary for the whole surprise-you're-going-to-be-a-dad reunion, but part of me kept mourning all the relationship development we could've gotten during that time.

i wanted him there sooner. i wanted more pregnancy moments between them. more awkward figuring-this-out-together. more beckett slowly realizing that sawyer and this baby were becoming his entire world while it was actually happening, rather than entering the story again after so much of the pregnancy had already passed.

basically, the six-month separation created excellent yearning but also personally robbed me of six months of beckett being clinically insane about his pregnant girlfriend. and for that, i will be filing for emotional damages.

Y’all probably know accidental pregnancy is not typically my jam. That said, I love Pinecrest Ridge and the cast of characters Amber has created, so readingMake It a Double was a no-brainer.

The trope still isn’t going to become a favorite of mine anytime soon, but I enjoyed Sawyer and Beckett’s journey immensely. I loved watching them navigate all the complications that came with their unexpected situation, and the secondary storyline featuring Liv and Duke was such a fun addition.

And speaking of the Pinecrest Ridge crew, I cannot wait to see our confirmed-bachelor playboy Lukas fall for Tatum. I loved Tatum immediately, even though she didn’t have a huge role in this book, and I’m already looking forward to seeing more of her.

Another enjoyable addition to a series I’m thoroughly invested in. Bring on the next one!

I loved One More Round, but Make It a Double blew me away. And here’s the thing… I HATE accidental pregnancy. Sometimes you just find an author who ticks all the boxes for you, and that is Amber for me. She is, without a doubt, my favorite small-town romance queen.

When I tell you Sawyer spoke to my soul… Hyper-independent and absolutely unwilling to take anyone’s help is my wheelhouse. I live by the “I can do everything better myself” mentality, so this FMC was carved from my bones. I adored her.

And then there’s our MMC, Beckett. This man. From jump, he is willing to put in the work and do whatever he can to make Sawyer’s life easier. He is so GIVING, and I was HERE FOR IT.

Best part about Make It a Double? NO THIRD-ACT BREAKUP!!! Which will always make me happy.

Sawyer is working at the local bar as a bartender when a man who clearly doesn’t belong strolls through the door. Instant sparks fly. Beckett is just passing through and basically says, “Screw it… let’s go on a date.”

So they head to the county fair (SO CUTE), where they proceed to have the best night ever. And when these two don’t want the night to end… well, I think you can figure out what happens.

Sawyer is still a virgin, and she views Beckett as her ticket to finally letting that go. When morning comes, she bolts, perfectly content to let this be a night to remember.

That is… until months later, when our girl discovers she is, in fact, pregnant.

Beckett works for his father’s development company (billionaire guys, obviously), and his POS father orders him back to Pinecrest to secure the land that Olivia and Duke own. If you read book one, One More Round, you already know where this is going.

He comes face-to-face with the girl he can’t forget, and it’s a bit of a shock. Especially when he learns she’s pregnant.

Determined NOT to become his father, this man will do whatever it takes to make sure Sawyer wants for nothing.

The tender moments in this book are TOP TIER. I didn’t even care about the spice. This was a warm hug of a book, and if you love small-town romance, for the love of God, read this series.

We are two for two at this point, and this is truly one of my favorite small-town romance series ever.

And who would have thunk it… ACCIDENTAL PREGNANCY?!

Amber, did you just single-handedly change my mind about this trope???

Now… GIVE ME LUKAS! I cannot wait for his book.

This book was everything I wanted it to be and more. When I say I loved every second of it, I seriously mean every second of it. It has all the heart and emotion wrapped in a perfect small town bow.

Beckett and Sawyer have completely opposite lives, but one night together brings them a little surprise on the way. Sawyer was prepared to do it alone until Beckett comes back to town and fully committed himself to Sawyer and their little one. The man never swayed, not even once. He has big daddy energy and had me swooning for him the entire time.

Sawyer was amazing. Her upbringing and background made her into the strong and independent woman that she was. I loved everything about her and I was really rooting for her throughout the entire book. Sawyer's grandma, Grams, was also a delight. She's my favorite kind of old lady crazy.

These two were everything and this book was phenomenal. They had a lot to overcome and a lot of healing to do, but their connection was undeniable and they were truly the perfect partners for each other. I can't wait to see more of them and their little family as the series goes on!

This book had me hooked from the very beginning with the one-night stand, and then when the accidental pregnancy happened? Oh, I was SAT. Those two tropes together are honestly chef’s kiss, and Amber did them so incredibly well.

I absolutely adored Sawyer. She was written in a way that made me love her from the very first moment I met her. The way she treated the people around her and the kind of person she was made her an absolute gem of a human being.

And Beckett? A walking green flag. From the very first night they met to the moment he came back into her life, he was honestly everything. This man was DOWN BAD, and I loved every single second of it. Watching him show up for Sawyer, give her what she needed, and be there for her even during the moments when she was unsure was everything I wanted.

And can we talk about this community and the family they have built? Unlike any other. I adore them all so much. You have characters who are overbearing and protective, and then others who are an absolute hot mess, but somehow you love every single one of them.

I was completely obsessed with this book from beginning to end, and OMG, after seeing the blurb for book three, I fear I am UNWELL. The excitement I have to get my hands on that book is unreal.

Amber, you have me completely invested in this world and these characters, and I cannot wait for more!

These two were honestly perfect for one another. While Sawyer grew up being raised by her grandma (who is freaking hilarious and my fave side character) in the trailer park, Beckett was born into money. These two were brought up completely different, however they both dealt with crappy parent situations. He’s there on business, but not for the reasons he’s supposed to be. She’s blindsided by him showing back up after months of there one night stand…

I don’t wanna spoil anything, so I’ll leave it at that. But just know, this story was beautiful. Beckett truly is the epitome of “if he wanted to he would”! That man would do anything for Sawyer 🥹🫶🏼

dare i say this is my most favorite accidental pregnancy book ive ever read?!?!?

i DEVOURED this book, sawyer and beckett had me hooked from page one to the very end. i absolutely adored every aspect of this book. bonus points: no 3rd act break up 😝

amber is so amazing at drawing you in with relatable and real characters, i love how she isnt afraid to shy away from deeper topics (one absent and one abusive parent are heavily woven into sawyer & becketts lives). while there are some heavier moments this book at its core is one of the cutiest patootiest books ever bc of how damn down bad beckett montgomery is. he is a total (respectful and honest) playboy (AND BI/PAN (i dont want to assume!!!!) ICON MIGHT ADD) and yet he gets knocked to his knees by a pretty small town girl and never gets up. sawyer walked him like a dog and it was the BEST thing ive ever witnessed.

one of my favorite things in this book was olivia & sawyer (and guard dog duke 🙂‍↕️) i loved how protective they were over sawyer but even more so once they found out she was pregnant and did everything the possibly could to make sure her and baby were going to be ok! this was such a fun and sweet friendship to watch develop, every cameo had me bouncing with excitement — even more so when they started bringing beckett into that fold as well.

I loved this book!!

I absolutely loved Beckett and Sawyer’s story! These two were a match made in heaven. Sawyer is the sweetest, and Bennett is totally a new book boyfriend for me!

The virgin and accidental pregnancy tropes are my least favorite tropes, but Amber Palmer wrote them so well that I ended up really enjoying the story, and makes me want to read more accidental pregnancy trope books.

I loved that they came from different sides of the tracks but were able to lean on each other while dealing with their family issues. Loved the bucket list, and I really loved watching their relationship grow.

Sawyer’s grams?! Might have been my favorite character in the book.

Now I need Lukas and Tatum’s book immediately.

Just kidding. But kind of not?

OH MY WORD THIS MAN. I could legitimately pass out from how swoony he is. Ya'll already know how I usually feel about accidental pregnancy, I claim that it isn't my fave but lately, some of my auto-buy authors have been changing my mind and this book is one of those reasons why. Beckett and Sawyer were on a mission to make me love this trope and succeeded in such an emotional way. I absolutely adored the way this book was such a real depiction of a pregnancy. Good AND bad, beautiful AND not so much. Sawyer was the perfect example of everything I can relate to in an FMC, independent almost to a fault, too caught up in the grind to actually LIVE. I loved so much how Beckett, literally and figuratively, forced her out of her usual orbit. SUGAR. HE CALLS HER SUGAR YA'LL. I'd fly out of orbit too for a man to call me that, I'm just sayin. The caretaking is heavy in this one and it is done so perfectly and sweetly. I couldn't get enough of the way Beckett listens, but also HEARS what Sawyer needs and sometimes even before she says it. Be still my heart I love this green flag of a man. I am eating up this series and, to be honest, not even remotely surprised that I am. I adore anything Amber writes and am STOKED to see the couple from book three get their time to shine! 4.5/5 stars!!

I loved the yearning in this book and Sawyer’s community of found family (and her grandma of course - she reminded me of Lolli, the grandma character from the Sparrow Falls series by Catherine Cowles) helping her in Pinecrest.

I also really enjoyed Beckett trying to appease all of Sawyer’s pregnancy cravings.

I loved these two so much. They were the definition of opposites attract, but were so perfect for each other. Sawyer was so kind and just a ray of sunshine. And Bennett was lit perfection😮‍💨He was down bad for her and I was here for every minute of it. That man had me salivating🫠The way he showed up for her and would give her lit anything she wanted was everything😭😍He went through a lot growing up with an asshole of a father, so watching him get everything he wanted was😭

I loved seeing all the side characters from the first book. I loved Olivia and the friendship she gave to Sawyer. The found family in this was everything. The bucket list was so fun and my favorite thing in this story oh and grams she had me dying😂 I need book 3 asap because the tension and banter with Lukas and Tatum has me sat for their story!

Beckett is a literal dream of a baby daddy 🫠 be prepared for lots of emotion and possible tears because reading their story is a Ferris wheel ( iykyk 😉) I love how characters from other books continue and intertwine it makes it feel like you are apart of the crew!

Oh this book had me ALLLLL in my feels! I don't usually love an accidental pregnancy trope, but if anyone could make me love it, it is Amber Palmer 👏 I adored every single page of this book, every up and down, and all the cherry 7up 😭 Beckett and Sawyer are just so freaking sweet together! There is just so much to love about this story, so here’s me doing my best to put into words what an incredible read this was. I genuinely don’t know how I’m supposed to condense all my feelings into this review because this book gave me SO much to love 🥹

It obviously goes without saying that this is my FAVOURITE Amber Palmer book because I was not prepared for how many times this made me cry.

If I ever have kids, I want for it to be known that Beckett Montgomery is the greenest flag to ever exist (fictionally, which is a crime) and has set an impossibly high standard for fatherhood.

I was so giddy to head back to Pinecrest Ridge and reunite with my favourite crew, and get to see my favourite playboy uncle Lukas again!! What I was not prepared for was Beckett Montgomery for stealing my heart, god I don't even know where to begin with how much I adore that man. I'd probably pass out if he was real, I don't know how Sawyer, whilst pregnant, was able to resist him for so long.

They had such an incredible chemistry and their journey with parenthood, and navigating becoming new parents was so authentic and I liked how it wasn't just because Beckett was doing the right thing by standing by Sawyer, meant that things was going to be smooth sailing.

Sawyer has a hard time letting people in and be there for her, so now having someone who not only wants to be that person for her, but continually show up for her in ways that no one else really has that wasn't her grandma, was relatable, as a hyper-independent girl myself. She was young, too, only twenty-four, but wiser beyond her age, and when she suddenly finds herself pregnant from her one-night stand, she's petrified and scared, as her own mother left her when she was young. I just loved how authentic and relatable Sawyer was, and equally Beckett too, who was on his own crossroads with his toxic relationship with his father and sense of no purpose, until he learns that Sawyer is pregnant with his child.

Amber did a phenomenal job navigating both their individual journeys and their one together as parents. You could literally feel their emotion and tension through the pages, and I loved how much care was given to the complexities of their relationship. Nothing felt rushed or brushed over, and watching them work through their feelings, their past and everything they were trying to navigate together made their story feel incredibly real.

I absolutely loved seeing everyone again, and loved Beckett's sister, Tatum!! Very, veryyy excited for her and Lukas's book!

If you’re not a fan of accidental pregnancy, try this book and it’ll Change your mind. Sawyer and Beckett were everythinggg. Big city guy on a quick visit to a small town leads to a one night stand and immediate infatuation only for her to leave without saying goodbye. Both of them could have easily gone back to each other if they wanted to but thought it was best to leave it as it was. Until circumstances brought him back to town and thrifts start to unfold..

This has the perfect mix of small town, found family, and actual CONFLICT. It’s nothing over the top but just enough to add a good plot mix to the story and keep it interesting. I was so invested i flew through this book and have zero complaints. Love love loved it.

This book was simply too long for what actually happened. These two are trying to fall in love, not solve world hunger. The middle was filled with a whole lot of nothing: no real conflict, barely any romantic progression, and absolutely no spice.

Over and over, Sawyer expects Beckett to think less of her, talk down to her, or be disgusted by her circumstances, and every single time, she’s shocked when he doesn’t. It became incredibly repetitive.

Then there’s the conflict involving Beckett’s billionaire father. You’re really going to convince me this man has any interest in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, Tennessee? Why does he care? How does he even know this place exists? It felt completely manufactured, especially when his eventual arrival amounted to absolutely nothing. He showed up…and then what? Nothing. What was the point?

Sawyer’s stubbornness also became exhausting. We repeatedly hear that she’s broke, doesn’t need anyone, doesn’t want anything, and can handle everything herself. Girl, please accept the help. Her refusal became especially frustrating when it involved her health and pregnancy. Her choices no longer affected only her, and Beckett should have been contributing to the baby’s expenses regardless. The constant “I’m fine” routine stopped feeling independent and started feeling immature.

The book also could have used another round of proofreading. “February” was misspelled several times, which became hard to overlook.

There were some sweet moments, and I didn’t completely dislike the characters, but the story was far too drawn out for such little payoff.

I had a moment in the first few chapters where I had to pause and think if I wanted to continue, as the insta-lust and subsequent banging was very early in the story. As in, it began the story. But then I remembered another of Palmer’s books that started like that and I totally enjoyed it, so I stayed the course.

I’m so glad I did! The one night stand that led to the accidental pregnancy that led to the building of a very beautiful relationship. Palmer wrote the heck out of it.

As an obstetric nurse, I also very much appreciated the representation of gestational hypertension and pre-eclampsia. Research is always so rewarding!

Lastly, can we get a “HELL YA!” for no third act breakup?!? Literally makes my week when that happens!

If you love a small town romance with all the tropes above, including trust fund MMC and scraped her way through life FMC…this one is for you! Thank you to Amber Palmer for the chance to read this advanced copy.

This was my intro to Amber Palmer and I will confidently say, she’s got a new fan! I am not one for accidental pregnancy, but this book did it so freakin well and with Beckett being a total green flag, I had so much fun throughout it all.

The tension was sizzling, the chemistry was amazing, and the roads to self discovery for BOTH main characters was beautiful. Outside the romance, the subplot lines were well developed and I think both MC’s had amazinggg character growth.

Sawyer, my sweet darling girl! I loved her character so much. She is a strong independent woman who is stubborn to a fault, but as she learns to accept help from her best friends and Beckett, her vulnerability really sets the tone. My heart was broken by the inner turmoil she felt at times, but I’m so glad she was able to overcome them by the end.

Beckett, my green flag city boy! This man was down BAD from the moment he met Sawyer and that wanting was felt on EVERY. PAGE. The way he cares and supports her through the pregnancy was so frickin sweet, I couldn’t get enough. This man also has his demons, but I truly enjoyed seeing him fight them and come out a better man by the end.

I loved every part of this book and Amber’s writing was *chefs kiss*. The way she writes an emotional romance with a touch of comedy and a sprinkle (or more) of spice felt raw, real, and made for a beautiful story.

OMG I loved this one!! Beckett is absolute perfection of a man. Seriously, where do I find one?! And Sawyer is pure sunshine and so incredibly sweet. These two were just made for each other.

I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this one because it has both the virgin and pregnancy tropes, which aren’t usually my favorites. But Amber Palmer wrote them in the BEST way, and I ended up loving how everything played out!

The bucket list was easily one of my favorite parts of their relationship. I loved watching them work through it together and seeing their connection grow along the way.

My heart hurt for Beckett and everything he went through growing up, but seeing him find everything he was missing in Pinecrest made his story that much better. The found family in this series is EVERYTHING.

Olivia was amazing in this one, and I loved the friendship she gave Sawyer. And Sawyer’s grams?! An absolute HOOT.

Now give me Lukas and Tatum’s book because I already know those two are going to be hilarious!

i adore pinecrest ridge. frank's bar is iconic and the vibes are immaculate. i'm foaming at the mouth for book three as i write this review.

beckett montgomery, everyone. his attention to sawyer, how sweet he was, and not to mention is filllllthy mouth (need that rn), he was an angel. he was obsessed with sawyer, as he should be, and i couldn't get enough of him. i mean, his NOTES APP? swoon.

sawyer, on the other hand, i struggled to connect with, unfortunately. i found her to be a bit whiny for my liking and i honestly had to skim a few chapters in her pov because i just couldn't do it, i'm so sorry. i feel for her, i wholeheartedly do, but it got to a Point for me. she is independent and strong and resilient, and i admire her for those traits, but i fear i wanted to shake her more than a few times.

the sub-plot of beckett’s dad being the enemy was intriguing until it ended in a very anticlimactic way, and i was left unsatisfied with it. it was made up to be a really big part of the book and didn’t really end how i’d expect, because i didn’t expect his dad to give up so easily but whatever. honestly, my favourite parts of this book were the character cameos from previous books. grady and cleo, duke and olivia, etc, they truly made this book for me and i don’t think i could have finished it without them + the side characters. i do have issues with accidental pregnancy (add in the virgin fmc too), so that's another reason i didn't really vibe with this book.

i’m so very excited for book three, the little snippet we got at the end had me gnawing at the bars tbh. i can’t wait to see what’s next for this series!

4.5 ⭐️ Gimme a one night stand && accidental pregnancy and you have me hooked! I loved the chemistry we see between Sawyer and Beckett from the start, which only grows thicker as their night goes on. They both are so wrapped up in each other and it’s perfection when things start to get steamy! But after sneaking out the next morning, I think they both thought that’s where their story would end. Although it’s months later, the minute Beckett is back in town he refuses to let Sawyer run away again…especially after learning she’s pregnant. This man knows what he wants and only wants to love and protect her and their baby. It’s literally all I want in a mmc stepping up to the plate! This book had me smiling, tearing up, and just devouring it so fast! And the found family is one of my favorite parts of this book!

I haven’t read the accidental pregnancy trope in a while and this was such a good one! Beckett was a dream. I loved how sweet and attentive he was to Sawyer’s every need. I related to Sawyer and her resistance to rely on people and ask for help. I’m so glad she came around and had so much growth! I also really enjoyed the found family vibes. Sawyer and Liv had the best friendship. I loved it. Also, Beckett getting Duke to be a lil less grumpy and gives him daddy lessons. So cute!

Definitely can’t wait for book three! Loved the little hints we got so far!
