Amber Palmer is an American romance author specializing in paranormal and contemporary love stories. Born in Arizona and raised in Texas, she’s the proud parent of three mischievous cats and one playful pup. When she’s not devouring spicy romance novels, you can find her curating bookish Spotify playlists or jotting down ideas for her next project. A fierce advocate for mental health, Amber crafts characters who face and heal from deep traumas. She’s unapologetically passionate about all things spicy—both in books and life—and loves gaming with her husband in her downtime.

Make it a Double, book 2 in the Pinecrest Ridge Series, isn't a book I would normally pick up. It has two tropes that I typically avoid, virgin and pregnancy, but Amber wrote it. I knew this author wouldn't treat (not knocking anyone's yums, just not for me) it as so many others have; where the woman’s worth is tied to their purity, power imbalance, shame, or fetishized. Instead our fmc, Sawyer decided her own timeline, she had the power and autonomy in her choices. It wasn't a focus of the mmc's, he was just happy to get a 💋 kiss.
As for the pregnancy trope, it wasn't used to trap the characters together, it wasn't a fix to a HEA, and it didn't shift the focus of the two characters falling in love. It did knock Sawyer's life off her normal routine, a little stolen agency but Sawyer comes to realize how stuck she was and that you need a little strife to get the good things in life.
Sawyer knew nothing more than working hard, relying on yourself and really not getting ahead. She was surrounded by those that loved her, but she never wanted to rely on anyone despite her always being the first to offer help. Finally, she started taking help, seeing she had friends and her world started to grow. When Beckett came back into her life she was in a better place and more open to trust. It was a nice character arc, watching a young woman grow into someone who was confident and had options, and realize not everyone leaves when it gets toughs.
Beckett, what can I say about the greenest flag mmc. He is everything his father hoped he wouldn't be and that is fantastic. A few examples: getting his license, so he could sneak off and visit his sister to enlisting our favourite slutty moustache-wearing grump, Duke, to set up Duke's Daddy Day Camp™️ and keeping track of all Sawyer's cravings. Ooh and poor, poor Beckett, he died a thousand deaths. He definitely loved his baby momma 🥵.
Olivia may have had to force her friendship on Sawyer at first, but it was one that helped build Sawyer. I loved all the guys bonding, the teasing between Lukas, Grady and Duke and how easily they slot Beckett into their family. One of my favourite tropes is found family and this group of friends is defintiely a strong knit family. They will go to bat for you.
I need to get a few t-shirts made, Gram was rocking some side splitting one liners. I also need to find cherry 🍒 7up, I have never had it.
Now I pariently wait for Lukas and Tatum's story in book 3. Patiently, yes.
And you know your limits, so read the author's content warnings
Thank you Amber Palmer for this ARC. I received an advanced reader copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Thank you so so much to Amber and her team for the e-Arc. Sawyer and Beckett are now in first place for my all time favorite Amber Palmer couple! This had some of my favorite tropes and I was already so excited to read this being that it’s an Amber Palmer story but this exceeded and surpassed all of my expectations. The billionaire and the bartender are an unlikely match but their chemistry was off the charts! I loved how Beckett embraced being a future dad and did everything he could for Sawyer, even making sure her cravings were always satisfied. Daddy Beckett was HOTT and I could not put this book down and did not want it to end! One of the easiest 5 star reviews I have given!

Oh I loved everything about this book. I didn’t think it could get any better than one more round but somehow Amber never ceases to amaze me😭 Beckett and sawyer were the most perfect pair and their little one just completed their perfect family. And don’t get me started on the babies name…🥹 UGH MY HEART ❤️
Also lowkey can I be grams when I’m older? She honestly was such a moment and I really just vibed with her. Such an easy 5 stars. I read it this whole thing in two sittings because I couldn’t put it down
