The Butterfly Tree, by Talia Rodriquez 9/10 This story was SO SWEET! I loved every bit of it. It’s a small slice of a magical world that I want to learn more about. I want to get my own mini dragon and visit the glowing butterfly tree. The only reason put 9 instead of 10 was because I don’t usually read middle grade, and like very action-y stories. But this story was amazing.
Reading Talia Rodriquez's "The Butterfly Tree" was like getting a warm hug--it perfectly captured the longing for Daddy that every girl has deep down inside. It was the perfect read for a rainy afternoon!
"The Butterfly Tree," by Talia Rodriquez celebrates a sweet, magic-imbued tradition between a daddy and daughter and the courage their bond inspires. Young Eislyn’s adorable timidity, paired with the gentle wisdom of parents who encourage her growing independence and problem-solving skills, makes her journey beautifully compelling. Alongside her upbeat pet dragon, she draws readers into the foreboding yet ultimately harmless darkness of the path and her resolute determination to conquer it for the sake of her daddy. The whimsical prose and hopeful messages will engage both young readers and those who are young at heart.
Overall, a delightful collection of well crafted stories!
The Butterfly Tree by Talia Rodriquez This short story was so sweet and cozy, with added depth of longing and sadness that reaches in to touch the soul. I’m going to be heading to a period of endings soon and so the theme of the story gave me new hope for the future, and the tiny steps of courage that build dreams and achievements we could never imagine. Also tiny dragons, glowing butterflies, and lanterns eheheheheheh. It’s so pretty! I plan to read the other stories in the anthology soon but started with this one.
Such a fun collection of stories! The themes of warmth and wonder sum up this collection well--this is a lovely collection to enjoy on a cozy evening alone, or together as a family. I look forward to seeing the future novels these authors write!
This is a very inspiring book. It made me feel very good about family relationships and bonds. The characters are so cute and really well developed. Each story has a great moral.
