Fell in love at 14, married at 18, a mother at 19, and widow at 22 should have made being a college student at 23 a walk in the park.

It was anything but.

Kitrina Matthews was starting over. New school, new job...new life. She only had one rule: No relationships.
Caden Tate was the University’s very own school slut. A notorious womanizer and all around jackass, Caden had no interest in relationship and absolutely no interest in kids.
The sudden and unexpected spark that ignites between Caden and Kitrina throws them both off their game. Knowing there is no future for them, they settle for second best. Friendship.
Navigating their way through a friendship proves difficult when attractions, jealousy, and tension boil to the surface, threatening everything Kitrina has been working towards. Kitrina must decide if their friendship can survive their growing feelings, or if taking things to the next level is worth the risk.

This book was a surprise. I was expecting a re-hash of the enjoyable but somewhat (at this point) overdone man-whore meets good girl and falls in love storyline. Don't get me wrong, in broad strokes that is what this story is about, but the author did a great job of shaking things up.

Kit is a 23 year old widow, trying to raise her son Jack all in her own after her husbands death three years earlier. Caden is a hot rich man-whore who is banging this way through the college coeds. They meet and sparks fly, but Kit isn't willing to risk a relationship with such huge potential for failure - not when it involves her son.

What follows was a sweet and at times heart wrenching story that had me tearing up more than once. I grew to absolutely adore both Kit and Caden. I cheered for them and was totally invested in their struggles. The path is far from smooth, but I loved the whole journey. Caden has definitely earned a spot on my favorite Heroes list.

I'll be watching for more from this author.

4.3 STARS.

I was having the worst book slum ever. Period. I couldn't find myself finishing a book after halfway through it because everything seems so clichè and predictable I just lost interest. So I would like to thank this book and its author for bringing me out of it.
Not to say that this book isn't clichè; news flash: it actually is. But there's just something that really drew me to this book, so yeah.

I loved everything about this book. It's so sweet and the connection between Caden and Kitrina made me so jealous! Add Jack the little cutiepie and the sassy best friend, Lizzy -- I was enamoured.

The writing is very simple and easy to understand. One thing that really weirded me out was how fast Caden's transition from the manwhore to the doting 'father'. It's just so weird, in my opinion.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. :)

I hated this book it all went so fast it seemed like bam bam bam.
They author didn't bother to write about the characters feelings rather she jumped into each thing happening.
One minute they are at the library next minute he's at her house trying to tell her he was trying to make her jealous ok? How does he not know she doesn't have a husband? Just because she said she doesn't have a boyfriend doesn't mean she does not have a hubby??
I can't deal with this book. She's just met the kid and she begins reciting her diary to him (not literally she told him her life story) I can't deal sorry it was a no finish from me.

I am completely in love with this book. I am so happy i read it! I love the characters most especially Cade, he was so special and sweet i like how the story went it wasn't too fast paced which made it more realistic and heartfelt. I cannot explain how in love i am with the love story of Kit & Cade they were such a beautiful couple. And the fact that Cade accepted Jack with all of his hearts was really nice. I like how they started as friends and became lovers... It is really indeed in LOVE that you make sacrifices, because you want nothing but the best for them. My favorite part was when Cade went back at the end, when he couldn't bear to leave Kit and Jack... When he said "I want my son back" "he's mine" "you're..... You're mine" i seriously fall of my bed... I completely and utterly fell in love with him if only i could marry a character in a book!!! And.... i would choose him over christian grey... Just saying! So over all i love it and one of the best books i've read and i mean i have like 350 books in my ipad so great work Marissa keep it up!!!!

Simple and beautiful story.
Caden and Kit, so different yet so alike. Loved them. This books shows what truly a best friend means. Lizzy and Kit's strong bonding or Caden's love for Jack it's all so amazing.
I always love books that leaves a smile on my face and it's one of them. :)

Sweet story

This was a sweet story. The bad boy, man whore striking up a friendship with the young widowed mom, and their undeniable attraction.
