July 10, 2026There are so many things wrong with this book I don't even know where to begin.
Let's see --- I catch my sister in law and my fiance fooling around in my horse's stall, and then the woman has the audacity to hurt my horse. At the least, she'd have a broken face, and he'd have a broken something else.
When a horse colics, they have to poop at least twice before they're out of the woods, and sometimes not even then.
Jane is an inexperienced hiker and she decides when her heart is broken, she'll go out and hike the Colorado Trail --- ALONE. My kid's an EMT and she risks her life to go out and save people who do stupid things like this.
The blurb for this made it sound like it's funny, but it's not.
I wish I hadn't read it.

Total Jane Wreck is a novella part of the Sugar Pine Springs series. It's a really fast, easy and cute romance that you'll binge within a few hours. I thought the setting was really fun, the ranch and the horses. The banter between Jane & Chet was amazing and the way their relationship evolved felt real. There were little twists and turns I wasn't expecting which made the story even more addictive. It was a fun modern reimagining of the classic tale.

Total Jane Wreck was such a cute and enjoyable read. Jane is desperate to escape her controlling family and a future she no longer wants, and I really enjoyed following her journey as she worked to build a life on her own terms. Her love for horses and the compassion she showed toward them was one of my favorite parts of the story and made her easy to root for.
It was wonderful to watch Jane leave her old life behind and discover something she was truly passionate about. Her relationship with Chet developed naturally, and seeing them navigate some intense obstacles together made their story even more satisfying. Even when it seemed like everything between them was over, Jane showed incredible courage by stepping outside her comfort zone and setting out on her own to figure out who she wanted to be.
Overall, this was a good read with an uplifting story of self-discovery, resilience, and finding where you belong. It's also a quick read—I finished it in a day and enjoyed my time with it.

Total Jane Wreck is a romance inspired by Jane Eyre. It was a cute book with likable characters, which I wanted to follow along with their journey. I wanted to hang out at Sugar Pine Springs with them since they seemed so personable and caring. I loved the banter between Jane and Chet. Their love of horses was so fun, too…especially Jane’s unique type of love. There were some twists and turns throughout the book - I thought they may go one way, but wasn’t completely sure until it happened. Check out this book if you like fun, cute romances.

Jane is hard to categorize. She is messy and hilarious, damaged and courageous, reckless and full of heart. Total Jane Wreck capitalizes on that complex of contradictions to drive home the point that second chances seldom come wrapped up neatly in a pretty package. Jane learns to heal not by being someone better, but by being brave enough to stay...at the ranch, with the horses, and ultimately, with Chet. Jane goes from damaged Jane Wreck to a woman who can love and be loved enough to accept her place at the Circle D. Totally believable and downright heartbreaking, Jane will stay with you long after you finish the book.

Under 300 pages, this fun, swoony, romance sets up our FMC who is running from a now ex fiance, and ends up in Colorado working on a horse ranch where she’s able to work with retired horses. The problem? The hunky ranch owner, who is carrying a past of his own!
There was drama, secrets and lies I never saw coming, swoony moments, banter & some great found family.
This was fast paced and kept me hooked the whole time, I honestly couldn’t put it down.
Highly recommend for any romance lovers!

Great read
I really enjoy stories with a ranch setting. Horses make every story better. Jane's love for horses is beautiful and that Chet accepts her more for it is perfect. The plot twist was unexpected and really brought the entire story together.
