Losing everything was never in her plan...was God all along showing her that He had a better one?

Calhanna Eastwood, a debutante from Southern Missouri, was living her perfectly planned life in New York a high-fashion career, a steady boyfriend, and the big city glam she dreamed of - all of her boxes checked - until she's unjustly fired, and she's left questioning if any of it was right in the first place.

After a devastating clash with a former classmate, Calhanna is thrust on a journey she neither planned nor wanted. Through serendipitous events only God could order, Calhanna meets a runaway teen, in desperate need of rescuing, and an enticing new love interest who tests her need for control.

For the first time, Calhanna glimpses a calling-and a love-she never could have planned on her own. But when she's offered a chance to reclaim everything she lost in New York City, she must will she cling to her own plan, or trust in God's before she loses the life and love her heart was made for?

For women new to Christian fiction and feeling unsure, Sun Shining on the Porch Swing offers a heartfelt, emotionally honest story where faith grows naturally from the characters' struggles and doubts-asking questions that we can all relate to.

Solid characters, good plot, and good storyline. Detailed descriptions and well-written similes.
However, for a Christian book, the characters’ drinking was a little too much for me. And a cuss word was used twice. Sad and unnecessary. The main issue I had, though, was not once did the main character discuss her relationship with God with her love interest, nor did she have any sort of conversation about God with him. And we know nothing about where he stood in his relationship with God. And the main character skipped out on church because her friends wanted to have brunch with her! So those things were off-putting.
Another frustrating part was on the part of the publisher. They missed sooooo many editing mistakes!! Very unprofessional!! I hope the author catches that they did that and asks them to fix them all!
I always like it when the title of the book comes into play in the story, and this one did not disappoint me.
I would read another book by this author!
