I’ll try my best to sum this up, even though this book left me with so many feelings 🥹

I loved that it was short but didn’t feel rushed at all. Everything was so well-paced, and nothing felt missing ✨

The plot was so good, I genuinely couldn’t put the book down 📖 I was an alpha reader and then an ARC reader, and this was my first time experiencing that. Getting to watch this story evolve into what it is now made it even more special 🫶 Thank you, Meg, for trusting me with it 🤍

The characters and their arcs were incredible!! You can truly see how much they grow from the beginning. Their personalities, their choices, who they are as people… everything evolves in the best possible way 🌱

I could list a million things I loved about this book, but honestly… there are no words that could fully do it justice 🥹

This is not an easy read ⚠️ It deals with a lot of sensitive themes—it’s heartbreaking, it’s raw, and it will absolutely wreck you… but in the best possible way 💔 And any book that can make me cry and heal me at the same time? That’s a book I will always recommend 🫶

And now, the hardest part... my least favorite thing… except I don’t really have one 😭

I could say I wanted it to be longer, but it was the perfect length ✨
I could say I wish the FMC had an easier life, that she wasn’t so lonely and didn’t have to go through so much growing up… but that’s her story 🥺 What she went through is exactly what made her arc, and her HEA, so powerful and meaningful 💫

So… no complaints. Just love for this book 🤍

Lilla… out of all the romance books I’ve read, no one deserves a HEA more than her 🥺🤍

Seriously!! think of every struggle a kid can go through: neglect, bullying, loneliness… she’s been through it all 💔 She starts off so broken, and watching her grow, heal, and become stronger felt so real and so powerful 🌱 Seeing her rise from the ashes of her past self? Total phoenix moment 🔥 I loved every second of it.

And Jace… Jace, Jace, Jace 😩 I’m usually not a second-chance romance girl, but WOW!! you earned that one. The way he puts in the work to make things right, the growth, the effort… and he’s still insanely swoony?? Yeah… I’m down bad 🫠

Hayley is the kind of best friend everyone wishes they had 🫶 and Hayden… I just love you, that’s it 🤍

This book didn’t just break me… it put me back together in a way I didn’t know I needed 💔✨

I devoured this book! The plot is fast-paced but doesn’t feel rushed. The development of characters was beautiful - seeing them grow & everything they overcame was inspiring❤️‍🩹

This book touches on some heavy topics, so check your triggers🫶🏻 That being said, Meg depicts them so eloquently and with such sensitivity, it’s truly something incredible🥹

This book is a true embodiment of being your own hero & taking those steps needed to grow within yourself, whilst also learning it’s okay to accept help from others❤️‍🩹

This book handles some very dark themes, such as bullying, suicidal ideations, and PTSD, so please check trigger warnings. Your mental health matters!

I really, really enjoyed Lilla and Jace's story. We get a lot of their background, being that their story begins in high school. They are both troubled kids; Lilla comes from a family of absent parents whereas Jace's family is very supportive but he is just reckless and careless at this point in his life.
Jace has a girlfriend named Ava, and Lilla is the target of her bullying-even more so due to Jace being interested in Lilla. Things blow up and Jace is sent away to an all-boys school to get some act right in him and Lilla believes he just ghosted her. Luckily we get to see Jace and Lilla lead themselves back to each other, but you best believe Lilla is making Jace work for it.

This was a unique plot and has several tropes that I enjoy, plus the spice was SPICYYYY.
I do think there was something off about the pacing and possibly the writing style that I didn't really vibe with, but the story was great. I am looking forward to Hayley and Hayden's story!

How do you recover from this 💔

From the very beginning of this book, my heart was breaking for Lilla. 💔
No child should ever be treated the way she was by her parents, and then to face relentless bullying at school as well... it was heartbreaking. Thankfully, she had one person who stood by her when no one else would.
My heart aches for every girl who has ever had to experience anything like this.
Who doesn't love a bad boy who grows into a good man and falls hopelessly for his childhood sweetheart? ❤️
"I didn't hold you long enough." 🥹🥹
That line absolutely broke me.
And let's talk about the spice... 🌶️ It definitely doesn't disappoint! Who doesn't love a cheeky fumble under the dining table at a black-tie event? 😜 And trust me, that's only the beginning.
At its core, this story is a powerful reminder to treat others the way you wish to be treated, because karma has a way of serving exactly what people deserve.
This book had me covered in goosebumps, laughing one minute and crying the next. Crying at my work desk definitely wasn't on my bingo card, but here we are.

I had the pleasure of reading End of Never. For me, it was a very emotional read. Thank you Meg!

This story pulls you in from the very beginning. You will experience abandonment, bullying, hurt, anger, love, laughter, and friendship.

Lilla was abandoned by her parents. Bullied by classmates. She felt she was unlovable. Until she met Haley. Her best friend, her sister.

Then there was Jace. Taken, and out of her league. But he wanted HER. They spent one night together. And then he too was gone. No words, no explanation or goodbyes. Just gone.

Alone and abandoned.. unloved.

8 years later… and he’s back. She’s now built a life for herself and he still wants HER. She’s angry and hurt. But his persistence and love starts to overcome it all. She realizes she still loves him too. She begins to trust and love again. This time she finally feels real love… with Jace, Haley and Hayden. Her Family.

Lilla Lane is one of those FMC’s you can’t help but root for.  She’s resilient, guarded, emotionally scarred, and so used to surviving alone that accepting love feels harder than loneliness. Watching her slowly unlearn the idea that she has to carry everything by herself genuinely hurt my heart.

“I’m gonna love you every day like it’s my only chance.”

Jace Evans doesn’t love loudly, he loves intentionally. Through actions. Through noticing the little things. One of my favorite things about him is that helping people is simply who he is. Whether he realizes it or not, he spends a good deal of this book saving people, especially Lilla.

And the way he fights for her trust after losing it? Exactly how I want a redemption arc to be written.

Their relationship felt raw, emotional, messy, and healing all at once.

This book hits HARD when it comes to emotional neglect and loneliness.

Lilla’s parents were genuinely awful! Emotionally absent, cold, and the type of people who made “figure it out yourself” their entire parenting style. The loneliness Lilla carries because of them is felt in every chapter. This is why the found family aspect hit so perfectly.

Hailey was the definition of unconditional friendship, and seeing Lilla slowly surrounded by people who chose her made the emotional moments even stronger. 

Final Fact:

End of Never is heartbreaking, healing, and deeply emotional. I especially related to the themes of finding oneself, loving yourself, and letting love in.

Well… Megan does it again. This is another book that will keep you glued to your chair, turning page after page. From the beautiful love stories (or two?!) to the valuable life lessons integrated throughout the book, there is something for everyone. The classic bad boy and quiet girl romance is hard to beat, and Megan brings it to life perfectly. She does an amazing job keeping readers engaged through action-packed chapters, dangerous situations, parallel love stories, and plenty of surprises along the way. There is never a dull moment. Reading Megan’s books, you would think she has been a bestselling author for years. Her writing feels natural, effortless, and completely captivating. I cannot recommend End of Never and The Trellis Effect enough. Even if you are not usually a romance reader, I truly believe this is a book everyone should give a chance.

My thoughts are all over the place with this book. Nothing bad, just jumbled and disorganized, I do not know where to start. There are heavy and sensitive themes, all done well, but check if you need to. Your heart is going to break and be mended. You are probably going to cry.

Lilla – I just wanted to hug her. Her path in life is full of speed bumps and pit falls. Her growth, healing, and finding her strength is rough but necessary. Getting to meet Lilla on the other side is everything.

I am glad I requested this ARC, Lilla and Jace you deserve it all. This is also my first book by this author, but not my last. Meg Earnest you are on my radar now!

This book was a roller coaster of emotions for me, I actually cried! And I’m not a book cryer! There were a ton of instances where both characters struggles were relatable to my own life and upbringing and that’s probably why I had I hard time putting down this book. I needed to keep reading, need to find out that it got better for the MCs, and a HEA was earned.


If I could sum up this story I would say that it's about two broken people that find comfort and healing in one another.
Lilla and Jace were such amazing characters that grew as time went on. Seeing their growth made me so happy and I always enjoy it when an author makes characters that resonate with their audience. I truly LOVED this story it begins in high school through adulthood/career life.
Lilla is the FMC and she's always having to "figure it out" whether it's her parents abandoning her or bullying at school.
She's a warrior and doesn't really know or understand that until adulthood. She does have a bff Haley that is always there for her.
Jace the MMC has many flaws, but one thing he's never forgotten is HER
/Lilla.
I like how she made him work for her trust and loyalty.
They are the people you aspire to be. Jace also has a great friendship with Hayden.

Speaking of Hayden, I can’t wait for the next book. I need to know his POV of events that happened in this book and how he recovers. I needed it yesterday 😂

I really, really loved Lilla and Jace's story. We get to see a lot of their background, being that their story begins in high school. Jace has a girlfriend named Ava, and Lilla is the target of her bullying-even more so due to Jace being interested in Lilla. All Lilla wanted was to be loved and that is something that should be given unconditionally. Despite Jace always having his eyes on Lilla, he’s dating Ava the most atrocious girl who bullies Lilla at every turn. Jace has a thing for Lilla and Ava knows it. Thank god for her BFF Haley. Lilla needs love and support and she find it in Haley.

Eventually, everything comes to a head, and Jace is sent away to an all boys school boarding school in an effort to get him on the straight and narrow. Lilla is left believing he completely ghosted her.

Thankfully, the story gives us the chance to watch Jace and Lilla find their way back to one another. Of course, Lilla doesn’t make it easy for him. Jace must earn it.

This was such a beautiful story about friendship, love, healing and love! This was on that soulmate level!! 10/10 recommend!!

Wow what can I say, this book was absolutely amazing. From start to finish there was always something else and I literally could not put this book down staying up in the night just for another chapter. Lilla and Jace, what else can I say. The storyline highlighted individual struggles but also how important it is to have that someone special to help guide eachother, the characters and storyline also highlighted and showed real world issues and addictions that people struggle with and how detrimental they can be and how one thing after another can cause a domino effect. Hayley and Hayden were also another key part of the story with Hayley being Lilla's best friend and I would say lifeline and Hayden supporting Jace when he felt low and like he failed his mother and father. It was also nice to see how having a best friend can help break addiction cycles and can help support eachother build their lives. It was good that we were gave Lilla's backstory of her childhood to help understand Lilla,her struggles and to see why she is the way she is and I feel having these moments helps you to deeply connect with the characters in the story.
I would definitely read again and read any future books. 10/10, thank you.

End of Never lived up to the hype. I loved both Lilla and Jace, separately and together, and the way their relationship looked in high school and today.

The flashback of Lilla's journey growing up was so impactful, so raw and emotional, both the parental neglect and what led her down a bad path, I could have read an entire book about that. I do wish we had had Jace's perspective at that time, but regardless, their pull was powerful right from the start, and I was hooked.

The growth of the characters, as well as the development of the side characters Hayden and Haley, really kept me interested in the layered plot. I'm a big fan of self-destruction to self-discovery / reformed characters, which is why I loved the chaotic mess of Lilla and Jace and know I will find the same angst in Hayden and Haley's upcoming book.

What an emotional ride but what a great ride it was!  2nd chance romance with a fmc that has emotional wounds and the mmc who is a reformed bad boy.  I love the way the book started and seeing everything they both go through and their healing processes. Its always rough before it gets better. It was very well written and highly recommended.  Cant wait for Hayden and Haleys story which were really great side characters!

Lilla grew up in a house where affection was non-existent, she basically raised herself, and she yearned for someone to give her comfort and love. When she meets Jace in high school, he’s connected to her enemy Ava who makes her life miserable. He watches her from a distance until Ava takes her bullying a step too far. He comes to her rescue and they have a memorable night where she finds the solace and comfort she so desperately craved. Only he disappears by morning... never to return until 8 years later. There is a lot of angst and emotionally triggering events that occur in this book, so please check those before reading. While the concept of this book was interesting, the execution was a bit of a miss for me. The writing felt a bit more like telling than showing and it didn’t flow the way I would have have hoped.

This story tackles heavy mental health themes — including bullying, PTSD, and suicidal thoughts — and I do think those elements were handled with care and sensitivity.

Lilla grows up with absent parents: a mother who doesn’t want to be one and a father who is rarely home. Her only real support system is her best friend Haley, while she endures relentless bullying at school from Ava. Enter Jace — the new boy, loosely involved with Ava, yet clearly drawn to Lilla.

Where the story lost me a bit was in the early dynamic between Jace and Lilla. He’s connected to her bully but flirts with Lilla at parties, and while she doesn’t seem to appreciate his attention outwardly, she’s secretly pining for him. The tension felt a little confusing to me, and I struggled to fully buy into their connection at that stage.

After Jace intervenes during a particularly cruel setup at a party, he’s abruptly sent away to boarding school due to partying and DUI charges — though this shift felt more told than shown. His transformation there happens very quickly, and before long he’s decided to become an EMT. I wished we had more time to sit with that growth and see it unfold with greater depth.

Similarly, Lilla’s downward spiral after Jace leaves — turning to drugs and alcohol — moves quickly, and her recovery even more so. Because their relationship was still so new, it was hard for me to fully understand why his departure was the catalyst for such a dramatic change.

When Jace returns eight years later, the tension and longing between them is finally palpable, and I did enjoy seeing that “what could have been” energy come to life. Unfortunately, by that point, I personally felt a bit disconnected from the story.

Ava’s bullying plays a major role throughout, but I found myself wishing for more insight into her motivations. While she certainly faces consequences, her character felt somewhat one-dimensional.

Overall, the pacing felt disjointed to me, with several big developments happening quickly and multiple plot threads competing for focus. In the end, this one just wasn’t the right fit for me — but I can absolutely see readers who love angsty, emotional second-chance stories connecting with it.

The ending does nicely set up Hayden and Haley’s story, which I’m sure will excite readers continuing with the series.

The End of Never by Meg Earnest absolutely destroyed me in the best possible way 🥹💔

This was such an emotive read and I found myself really connecting with Lilla, especially the bullying aspects of her childhood and the loneliness she carried for so long. Some parts honestly hurt to read because they felt so raw and believable. I couldn’t imagine abandoning children the way her parents did, and I think that’s what made her story hit even harder for me. You spend this whole book wanting someone, anyone, to choose her.

And then there’s Jace Evans. I already approved of the MMC name before I started reading, but now? Fully obsessed 😩 The bad boy turned paramedic who spends the entire book trying to make things right and prove he never stopped loving her? Yeah. That works on me every time apparently.

I also loved the pairing of a vet FMC and paramedic MMC. Two people dedicated to saving others while carrying around their own damage just made so much sense together.

The spice was excellent 🌶️ The chemistry felt earned, emotional and intense rather than just thrown in for the sake of it. And despite this being a shorter read, it never once felt rushed. The pacing was so well done that I finished it in a day because I genuinely could not put it down.

What really stood out to me though was the character growth. Watching Lilla slowly heal and start to believe she deserved love and happiness felt incredibly powerful. She starts this book so isolated and emotionally beaten down, and seeing her finally get the HEA she deserved honestly made me emotional 🥺

Hayley deserves appreciation too because everyone needs a friend like her 🤍

This is not an easy read. It deals with some heavy and heartbreaking themes, and there were moments that genuinely wrecked me. But somehow it also manages to heal you at the same time. Those are always the books that stay with me the longest.

Also I now need to go listen to the playlist because I’m convinced there are songs on there about to ruin my life in the best way 🎶

End of Never is a deeply moving, thought-provoking book about the power and importance of love and friendship.

The characters were especially great! Lilla won my heart from page 1 and really moved me. Her past, in particular, broke my heart. And the relationship and tension between the two MCs was soooo touching!!! How amazing the MMC was and how he gave Lilla security and time was just beautiful. The two of them are simply soulmates and complement each other perfectly! The side characters were great too, and the found family was fantastic!!!

I really liked the story and the plot, and they surprised me as well. The medical vibe and all the animals are really great, and as soon as they appear in a book, I’m totally hooked! There were also many truly beautiful scenes and quotes that will definitely stick in my memory! The spice was also very good and plentiful.

I really liked the writing style; it was very good, easy to understand and engaging. I got into the book very easily, could follow the story perfectly, and was thoroughly entertained. Sometimes it felt a bit too fast-paced to me, or the transition from deep talk to flirty banter was a bit too quick. Other than that, I literally devoured the book and finished it in two days. I just couldn’t put it down.

A wonderful book that really moved me, and one I would definitely recommend to everyone. Please be aware of the trigger warnings before reading, as it deals with some difficult topics.

An emotional and captivating story about love, friendship and healing with unforgettable characters and a beautiful soulmate romance. The engaging writing style, surprising plot, medical setting and lovable animals made the book impossible to put down, while the emotional scenes and strong found-family dynamic left a lasting impression. Despite occasionally feeling a bit fast-paced, it was a deeply moving read that I would highly recommend!

Jace and Lilla, even Haley and Hayden are absolutely etched into the walls of my heart! This is such a beautiful story of finding yourself, friendship and knowing when to ask for help!

The way that Meg writes Lillas journey and everything that she goes through to feel love and find herself and her passion in life is so full of longing that you feel as though you are right next to Lilla. The fact that Meg has some how pulled you into the pages of the book while Lilla answers the question she has been looking for the answer to her whole life, who is Lilla Lane?

This is a second chance love story for the ages! With each turn of the page these characters embed themselves deeper and deeper into your soul. The way that Lilla and Jace reconnect and Jace trying to find the right way to let Lilla know what happened and why, how it was for the best because when he knew her all those years ago their lust for one another would have just been a fast tumultuous burn of ultimate self sacrificing and destruction. When really they are meant for an ever burning flame that will burn through anything/everything that stands in their way, because ultimately they are a single flame that could burn the world down together.

First, I really want to thank Meg Earnest for having me along for this journey with End Of Never. From being a beta reader to now an arc reader, I had a lot of fun seeing this story come to life.

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My Thoughts:
This is not my first book by Meg that I have read so you can guarantee that I had some expectations going into this one. Thankfully, my expectations were met all the way through. I’m not going to spoil anything that happens in this story but what I will say is that Meg does really well at making such relatable stories and relatable characters.

If I could sum up this story I would say that it’s about two broken people that find comfort and healing in one another. Lilla and Jace were such amazing characters that grew as time went on. Seeing their growth made me so happy and I always enjoy it when an author makes characters that resonate with their audience. While being a beta reader with some other amazing readers, I think it’s safe to say that Lilla truly rises from the ashes. Jace also shows such amazing growth and works really hard to make things work between him and lilla. He doesn’t give up and does everything he can to make things better for lilla and for them as a couple. Also their friends Hayley and Hayden were just perfect supportive besties!

There are some darker themes in this story so be prepared for a story that will touch your heart and maybe even make you cry a little bit. Whatever happens when you pick up this story, just know that things do get better and that healing comes when you least expect it!

End of never touches on some difficult issues throughout the book and your heart goes out to Lilla for the horrendous stuff she has endured throughout her life.

Meg Earnest did a great job of conveying these aspects and I loved how Lilla turned out despite her childhood. It was lovely to see that Hayley was always there for her no matter what.

Jace also turned his life around from suffering from addiction and other issues to becoming an EMT. 

I did like Lilla and Jace together and thought they complemented each other perfectly.

While I really enjoyed the story and its themes, I personally would have liked more depth surrounding Lillia and Jace’s early connection and backstories to better understand the strength of their bond. Jace’s addiction and struggles were alluded to but never fully explored and Lillia’s recovery journey and personal growth were only briefly touched upon. For me, expanding on these aspects would have deepened the emotional connection to the characters and made their growth even more impactful.

I am a big fan of found family and this one was perfect. Mr Wilder was such a standout character and truly the steady presence they all needed. Providing honest advice to them all 🫶

I was an alpha and ARC reader for this absolutely amazing book, and I honestly don't even know where to start. I loved it the first time I read it, and somehow I loved it even more the second time.

From the very first page, this book completely pulls you in and refuses to let go. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. The characters were incredible. Lilla has been through so much, abandonment, bullying, and heartbreak, and my heart ached for her. She's the kind of FMC you'll immediately cheer for: strong, guarded, scarred, yet incredibly resilient. And then there's Jace. Oh, that man is something else. I absolutely adored him. He shows his love through actions rather than words, noticing even the smallest details. After losing Lilla's trust, he becomes determined to earn it back, and his redemption arc was written so beautifully. Their connection feels real, emotional, and raw. Watching them heal alongside each other was one of my favourite parts of the story. And I can't forget Hailey! I absolutely loved her friendship with Lilla. Their bond felt genuine and added so much warmth to the story.

This book will make you cry ugly tears and happy tears. It's emotional, raw, heartbreaking, and beautiful all at once. The pacing was perfect, the writing was captivating, and every moment felt meaningful.

End of Never by Meg Earnest was such an emotional ride and I loved every second of it. Thank you for the ARC — this story completely pulled me in from the very beginning. If you love found family, slow burn romance, emotional scars, forced proximity, second chances, and redemption arcs, I highly recommend this book.
One of the most emotional parts for me was how one night Jace comforted Lila when she felt completely alone, promised he would always be there for her… and then disappeared. After years of struggling with addiction and trying to survive on her own, she unexpectedly runs into him again 8 years later, and all those feelings come rushing back.
The bridge scene especially stuck with me because of the constant reminder of him telling her “don’t jump.” That moment carried so much emotion and pain throughout the story and honestly broke my heart every time it was mentioned.
Lila and Jace both felt so raw and real. Lila’s loneliness and need to feel loved hurt to read at times, while Jace’s growth and redemption arc made me love his character even more. Their relationship was messy, emotional, healing, and comforting all at once, and I was completely invested in them the entire time.
And those little snippets at the end teasing the next book?? I already know I’m going to need it immediately because I can tell it’s going to emotionally ruin me in the best way 😭📚

Lilla and Jace’s second chance romance is a heartfelt story layered with loss, healing, and the reassurance of a love that’s worth fighting for.

It’s a heaping dose of emotional depth and a little bit of angst, which I absolutely devoured. Lilla and Jace’s story unfolds like a bittersweet reunion in their small hometown. After eight years of no contact, Jace having been whisked away to military school and Lilla left to pick up the pieces, they find themselves back in each other’s orbit. He’s now an EMT, she’s a vet, and their connection is undeniable.

Lilla isn’t about to let Jace waltz back into her life without some effort. She’s been burned before and needs that reassurance that he truly intends to stay. With the help of friends like Hayden and Hayley, and the subtle influence of Hayden’s dad, this story weaves together themes of loss, grief, hope, and healing.

I loved that Jace constantly continued to show up and stand up for Lilla. Seeing his devotion that his devotion after several never wavered had me swooning. Lilla hasn’t ever felt truly loved or seen, except for Jace. Seeing her open herself up to love after being constantly let down and hurt was incredibly heartwarming. These two absolutely stole my heart and Zeus too!

I really love second chance romance and when they are done right. Meg Earnest has a way of creating such compelling characters that you can’t help but feel what they are going through. You’ll laugh, cry, and swoon will this one. It’s all about second chances at love, finding solace in someone who truly sees you, and the kind of romance that feels like a warm embrace. Can’t wait for Hayley and Hayden’s story next. I’ll have the tissues ready, again!

I had the absolute honor and privilege of reading this beautifully written story about love, loss, grief, and friendship! Thank you Meg for allowing me to be a part of this story
This story is one that will live rent free in your head and heart. Meg has a way of writing and making you feel you are there with the characters. I could feel what they felt, what they were going through.
I loved reading about Lilla’s journey to finding herself and finding love! And does she find it! Oh man our guy Jace. When you read you will know! He is the ultimate sexy fireman we all daydream about 🥵
I also loved how relatable their relationship is. It was not your typical romance they fall in love and live happily ever after nope! They have to endure hurt and find their way back to each other!
And then we meet Haley and Hayden and the ending is just so well done and leaves you wanting more! Especially more from Haley and Hayden. And that is all I will say lol!
This truly is such an amazing story and I hope everyone reads and get to experience this masterpiece

End of Never by Meg Earnest was an emotional and unforgettable read that completely pulled me in from beginning to end.

This book delivers so much more than romance. It is a story about pain, healing, redemption, and learning how to let yourself be loved after life has broken you down. The emotional depth in this story was incredible, and I felt connected to the characters immediately.

Jace Evans was everything I love in a damaged hero. Protective, loyal, and deeply flawed, he made my heart ache in the best way. The second chance romance between him and the FMC was beautifully written, especially with the slow burn tension and emotional history between them. Every interaction felt meaningful.

Meg Earnest also handled heavy topics like addiction, PTSD, grief, and trauma with care and realism. The hurt and comfort moments were some of my favorite parts of the book, and the found family elements added so much warmth to an otherwise heartbreaking story.

Please read the trigger warnings before starting because this book explores several difficult topics.

I had the pleasure of beta-reading this with Meg, and I couldn't have asked for a better first experience in the beta reader world! Meg writes stories that are romantic and spicy... but they will rip your heart out of your chest, drown it in your tears, and then oh so gingerly stitch you back up. Seriously, I don't know how she does it! I spent the first half of this book gasping in shock, considering adopting all the children who need good parents, and trying to get my rage under control so I could finish the rest of it.

Our FMC Lilla is a badass bi*ch when she comes out the other side of her childhood. And our MMC, Jace, has some serious explaining to do... although his absence was 100% justified. Both of these characters had to grow up way too fast, but they survived, and now they're about to run into each other again. They've done all the hard work of healing their own traumas - can they now heal what they'd started together years ago?

I don't think I need to say more! This is one of those books that will live with you long after you finish it!

i swear meg is absolutely BRUTAL!!! these poor characters😭

i was 4% in, 4 PERCENT!!!!! and already i was in my damn feels near sobbing?!?! i’m sorry, meg, girl, WHAT?!😭 WHY?!?!

now y’know i crave the pain right, i love a good cry and i absolutely love me some broken characters.. 🫪

BUT, my heart!!! they didn’t catch a break. i’ve never known anything like it🤯 (well i have, real life sucks) the emotions you feel whilst reading this- my heart was POUNDING. my eyes were constantly trying to fight back the tears.

i’m sure many readers will be able to relate to at least one situation within this novel and meg writes them beautifully despite them being painful.
