When Tonya comes across an injured wolf on her property, her first thought is to run, but when he comes chasing her she is not sure what to do. The Wolf seems to be tame and understands what she is saying, but what Tonya does not realize is the wolf is a shifter and he is there to claim his mate.
This was a quickie. Had some interesting parts but I was left confused by a lot of it. Wish it had been longer to fill in the gaps.

Anthology part of Big Bad Alpha: (Christmas Holiday Box Set) 20 Alpha Hero Stories of Contemporary, Military, Shifters, Werewolves, Vampires, Aliens, Angels, Billionaires, Demons, Fae & More
I'm finding the problem with this book is that the book directly before this one was about a human woman stumbling across a wounded panther at her isolated cabin.
This one is about a human woman stumbling across a wounded wolf at her isolated cabin.
From there the differences pretty much end but it still bothered me. If this anthology was shuffled a little better I probably would have liked the book more and given it at least a 1/2 star more.

Not a bad story. It was short for me. It needed some more substance. It felt rushed.

Tonya has never had a very high opinion of herself in the looks department. She lives a solitary existence in the middle of the forest. Having just enough to get by, she never thought much of her future.
Lucius is a wolf shifter and guardian to the gate of his Alpha’s pack lands. He takes his duty seriously and would rather die than let there be a breach. Having been attacked by a pack of rogue wolves was the best thing to ever happen to him.
Looking at the cover, which is deliciously distracting, one would never think that this story is only 19 pages long. In my opinion, it wasn’t enough to do this story justice, but the main points of the story were well made. Boy thinks he’ll never find a mate; girl thinks she’s too unattractive and fat; boy scents mate and immediately pursues; girl eventually learns of his dual nature and relents to the mating. I have to commend Mandy Monroe on her extremely colorful vocabulary used throughout the story to describe the emotions the characters experience. The ending was surprisingly unexpected and leaves an opening for the author to pursue further.
Recommended reading for those looking for an extremely short story packed with lots of possessive mating.

It's not really bad but it's not great either, I think its like the typical short stories with more sex than plot and I don't mind, but if you want a lot of sex just give us a little more to the plot. I don't know if this is a SPOILER but when he was in wolf form and try to lick her downtown (p&$¥£) that freak me out. It started interesting but I didn't get into any of the characters and it finish like that and you are wondering wait what happen. I think it would of been a great story if this book was tweaked a little better.

Werewolf on patrol, kicks rogue pack of werewolves butt, gets hurt, comes across insecure woman whilst still in wolf form.
As he is healing in her living room he realizes she is his mate. They get to know each other and she gets attacked by a rogue werewolf. He saves her. The End.

Too much details meaning nothing but not enought the good ones.
The end is too fast and too easy. She 'll die so he has to transform her ... I didn't even remember how he did that ... and I read the book yesterday :/

Lucius is a guardian were wolf, they don't have mates. Yet injured, almost dead he smells Tonya and has to follow her and have her. She is his mate. Now to convince her.. Cute short story.
